It was another normal day in their 6th year of hogwarts, and Severus Snape was sulking around his dorm room as usual. But he was even more depressed today than he normally would be, having been rejected by Lily Evans once again. He scoffed and rolled his eyes. Clearly she couldn't appreciate him for who he was. But for some reason, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was meant to be with her. Something about her.. even though she was a dirty mudblood.. "Just get over it." He told himself, staring at the ceiling. He wished Lucius was there with him. He always knew what to do. Lucius Malfoy was a year older than Severus, and happily accepted him into his friend group when he would otherwise be known as a lonely outcast. He always said that he admired Severus's intelligence. But that must have been a lie, because Snape was feeling quite stupid right now. Suddenly, he hears a knock on his door. Who could that possibly be? They probably have the wrong room.. as he turns the door handle, he practically freezes in shock.
There stands Lucius, smiling down at him. "Oh.. uhm.. hi?" Severus stutters quietly. "Good evening, Severus." Lucius says confidently. He looks around Snape's dorm. "Quite a nice room you have here.. very well decorated. Would you mind letting me in?" Lucius asks. Severus nods and allows him to come in, closing the door behind him. Lucius looks around slowly, noticing ever little detail. "Your room really reflects who you are as a person, you know. I see it's dark and gloomy in here.. smells like coffee. And is that poetry over there? It really is quite like you." Lucius notices. "What did you want to talk to me about? I-I don't want to be rude, but this was sort of an...unexpected visit." Severus asks, trying to sound polite. "Well.. Maybe I was lonely. Maybe I could sense that you needed me. Either way, I'm here now, aren't I?" Lucius says, smirking. Severus rolls his eyes. Lucius always spoke in such a triumphant way, always giving cryptic answers that usually made no sense. It was as if he spoke in riddles. To Severus's surprise, Lucius takes his jacket off and promptly sits on his bed, motioning Severus to sit next to him. Not at all sure what to think, Snape sits where Lucius wanted him to. He immediately notices how uncomfortably close they are. "What's troubling you, Severus? Having problems with women? Or is it that nasty Potter boy getting you down again?" Lucius asks calmly. "Nothings troubling me." Severus responds, lying through his teeth. Of course, lily evans was a half-blood.. so was Severus, but he hated muggles. That was part of the reason lily evans would never love him. And Severus knew that Lucius Malfoy, the proudest pureblood he knew, and the hottest guy in the school, would probably cut him off immediately if he learned of Snape's feelings. "Come on. Don't lie. I can see it in your face. Talk to me." Lucius says, smiling softly. Severus knows he shouldn't say anything, but he can't stop himself from talking. It's that smile. That loving smile that Lucius always gave him. Particularly when he wanted some information. "Well.. maybe I am struggling a bit with girls.." Snape mutters. "Its a shame, too. You're such a handsome guy. I'd think the ladies would be all over you. Not to mention how intelligent you are, Severus." Lucius says, grinning. Was Severus insane, or was Malfoy actually flirting with him? No, that must have just been a friendly remark. They're just buddies, right? Good friends. That's all. Maybe he wished they were something more sometimes.. but there's no way he'd ever have a chance. Wishful thinking, that's all it was. "Oh, no, women hate me. A lot of people hate me, actually." Severus says nonchalantly. "Women may not like you, Severus, but the men certainly do. Well, the slytherins and ravenclaws, at least. Everyone that matters." Lucius moves closer to Severus as he speaks. "Really? What guys? Do they talk about me?" Severus asks, all too enthusiastically for a straight guy. Lucius smiles. "You like men talking about you, hm?" Severus quickly blushes. "No! I just.." he responds frustratedly. "Was curious? Come on, Sev. Everyone knows you're a homosexual." Lucius says, placing his hand on Snape's shoulder.
