Clementine calmly ran her eyes over the place. Carver would not leave until the next day, so she had some time to analyze the place and come up with a plan.

Beside the bed there was a window, but there was no way to get through it, because it was blocked by iron bars and some wooden boards.

The place seemed to be quite sturdy, even though it was built by unprofessional people in the middle of the apocalypse.

And of course, because these people were not professionals, Clementine hoped to find some breach, a hole, or a weaker spot that she could use to get out of there.

Sighing, she walks over to the closet and opens it, rolling her eyes at finding nothing there. It wasn't as if they had forgotten a knife or a blade in there.

But it wouldn't hurt to go through the closets and desk drawers, as well as under the bed. And her search paid off.

Under the bed was a small iron bar. It could be useful.

Turning around, she walks down the corridor and goes to the bathroom, where she cannot help but stare at the place in surprise, and even a bit of astonishment.

There was a sink, a toilet and a shower there. Carver wouldn't have those things built if he didn't know how to make them work... right?

Her surprise only increased when she turned on the faucet of the sink and water came out. Same thing with the toilet flush.

"... It makes sense that Reggie saw this place as a paradise... still, you can't stay under Carver's command." She muttered to herself, turning around and running her eyes around the bathroom one last time before leaving.

But something caught her eye. Right next to the toilet was a small hole.

Clementine bent down and looked outside through the hole. She could hear the movement outside.

The expansion of the community. Ahead were the great walls that protected them. In other words, she would come out from behind the room. Perfect, no one would see her there.

It would be easy to sneak into the entrance and make her way to the yard. Without Carver there, the guarding would certainly focus more on the outside than on the inside. Not to mention that, although there were many people there, they were few considering the size of the community.

Still, anything could happen there. Clementine tried not to sound so positive and to come back to reality. She was still in danger of being caught, and if she was, surely Carver wouldn't let it go.

Shaking her head, she forced the side of the hole a few times, feeling the underside of the wall move slightly. Great, that meant she could expand the hole.

Good thing she hadn't grown much in those years. Duck, for example, could no longer pass through a hole that was too small.

Placing herself on the ground, she takes her iron bar and tries to break the surroundings of the small hole, pulling the ends of the boards and breaking them as quietly as she can, but without much hurry. It was still hours before dark, and it was preferable for her to go after Bonnie at night.

Especially since they would have to leave early, shortly after Carver's departure.

Because of the movement outside, along with the noise of the guards and the forced workers there, it was relatively easy to open that hole. The noise she made could easily be mistaken for the noise outside, ignored and perhaps not even noticed.

As soon as she was done, she put the iron bar to the side and took off her cap, ducking and crawling on the ground. With some effort, she managed to get out.

Her eyes soon fell to the sky. The sun was already setting. Bonnie would be finished with her shift in a few hours and her friends would be back in the yard.

Sneaking to the side, she positioned herself on the edge of the wall and bent her body to watch the movement ahead.

The entire expanse was built of wood, canvas, and a few pieces of iron. Unlike what her room was like, they probably did not enjoy a toilet, for example.

Her room was probably used as a storage room before and expanded by Carver, which explains her room not being so far from the said man.

There weren't many guards on patrol at the moment, and she was sure some of them were inside the store or on the roof. The stockroom in that place was quite large for a dozen or so people.

But still, it was not yet time for her to get out of there. As Carver himself had said, someone would be taking her meals to her room in a few minutes.

Quickly, Clementine bent down and snuck through the hole again, picking up the picture of Lee that had fallen out of her hat and putting it in her pocket.

Picking up her hat and the iron bar, the girl walks over to the closet and, with the iron bar, rips a piece of wood out of the cabinet. With quick steps, she goes back to the bathroom and covers the hole with that piece of wood.

Probably no one would pass through the back of her room or the guards' tents, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

A few minutes later, she assumed, she heard the door being unlocked and opened. Her eyes fell on Troy who had a tray of food in his hand and, as always, a not-so-friendly expression.

"Here's your food, girl. Eat up and go to sleep." He said, placing the tray on the table and already walking to leave the room. "I can't believe Carver put me on babysitting duty. Fucking unbelievable." He muttered to himself as he closed the door and locked it again.

Clementine focused her eyes on the tray of food. It was more colorful than what they served in that prison. There were even some vegetables.

After eating, she waits a little longer to make sure that it was dark enough.

The girl hurries out of her room.

Already outside, she looks around with analytical eyes, bent down and away from the lit torches of the place, hidden by the darkness of the night.

There were a few guards ahead, only two people, as far as she could tell. Two men, one with blond hair and one with dark hair, Asian features.

They were talking to each other, and seemed well entertained by the subject.

Slowly, Clementine began to sneak toward the entrance of the store that led to the warehouse, catching a glimpse of some men putting up chain link fences around the place near the wall they were still building.

As soon as the girl reached the warehouse, she observed two women talking not far from there, approaching her with quiet but quick steps, as if they were on their way to inform the two guards about something.

Clementine ran to the side and hid behind a shelf with plenty of food packages. If she had her backpack, she could grab something from there to take before she ran away. This in an attempt to be very positive.

As the two women passed, she came out from behind her hiding place and walked with quick but silent steps through the stockroom. The place was quite large, so it was relatively easy to go unnoticed while sneaking around in the shadows.

"Did you hear from the men today?" A male voice made itself present right next to Clementine and the girl startled, standing still.

On the other side of the shelve in which she was hiding was a man and a woman. If she wasn't mistaken, the woman was Tavia, or something like that.

"I heard. Carver is pissed. He's staying late at the office, apparently." The woman replied.

Clementine moved even slower as she moved away. She didn't want to make any noise, no matter how small, in that empty place.

"Hm, pissed off? Just wait until he hears that the guy who killed our people didn't have an arm. He might kill someone tomorrow." Clementine turned toward them upon hearing the conversation, slightly surprised, but soon ignored them and continued on her way, now far enough away to hurry her steps.

There was a double doorway ahead, connecting the stockroom with the rest of the store. Clementine hid behind the wall and leaned her body slightly to the side, observing the situation.

She could see some guards climbing the stairs to the roof, others leaving the store and going to watch other parts of the expansion. And just in the corner, she saw Troy talking to Bonnie, just outside the armory door.

Sighing in frustration that Troy was there, she walks at a quick pace to one of the shelves in the place and makes her way silently to an unused counter near the armory, paying attention and listening to what they were saying.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? You've been acting weird with that girl ever since she arrived." She heard Troy say, a slightly irritated tone as usual, but calmer than she had ever heard since she had arrived there.

"She's just a kid, Troy. And you with that tough macho pose are not the best to take care of her. The last thing we need is trouble." Bonnie said, a firm tone, but her voice still velvety. "You know what she did, you saw it. If she sees you as a threat, one time or another she will do something that will result in trouble. Maybe even someone's death."

"Argh, you think that little girl can kill me? What the fuck is your problem, Bonnie?"

"Yes, she can kill you. Anyone can, with a gun. I'm just saying I don't want her to get hurt, or for her to hurt anyone here. It's better that I bring her meals and take care of her tomorrow than you." Bonnie explained, and Clementine tilted her body up slightly, watching the two adults ahead.

"Okay, fuck it. Make yourself comfortable. I don't want to babysit a brat anyway." Troy said, turning around and walking away from there.

Clementine waited until he was far enough away, and soon came out of her hiding place.

"Bonnie." The woman was startled by the call, and looked at Clementine with wide, fearful eyes.

"Clem?! What... what are you doing here?! How did you get out?!" The woman asked uneasily as she approached and looked around in nervousness.

"I need your help. We can't stay here. Carver is crazy." Clementine said, pulling Bonnie to the counter and ducking down. Even if some other person showed up, they wouldn't see her, and at most would question Bonnie about what she was doing talking to herself.

"What? Clem, I don't-"

"Listen to me." The girl interrupted her. "Stop trying to delude yourself. You know that Carver is unhinged. And at some point, he's gonna kill someone. Some of my friends. All I want is to get out of here." Clementine said, becoming quiet as she heard some footsteps in the distance, but relaxing when the footsteps moved away.

"You just said you don't want trouble to happen. If I stay here, trouble will happen. Carver is leaving tomorrow. It's the perfect opportunity for us to get out without having to kill anyone." Clementine said, looking deep into Bonnie's bewildered eyes.

The woman stood thoughtfully for some time, her restless hands running through her hair, and she looked around all the time in nervousness, fearing that someone was going to show up there at any moment.

Or worse, fearing that Carver would approach and see Clementine there.

"Clem-why don't you at least try to see what this place offers? Maybe-"

"Then help me kill Carver." The girl interrupted her again, and Bonnie gasped in surprise and disbelief. "He killed my friends, he locked me up in this place, he's forcing me to work. This place really is good, but the people, on the other hand, are not. Help me kill Carver and his men, then I'll stay. If not, help me get out. And if you can't help me, that's fine, I'll do it alone." Clementine said with conviction, looking sternly at Bonnie, who after some time in an internal conflict, sighed in defeat.

"... What do you want me to do?" The woman asked, and Clementine almost smiled.

"It's quite simple. You are the one who will take my meals now. Tomorrow, who will you have contact with?" The girl asked.

"Mike, Kenny and Duck. As well as other workers in the expansion. And the two of us still have to work in the armory." The woman replied.

"Great. We will come to the armory as normal. right after Carver leaves, have me bring something for Kenny and go after me with the excuse that I am taking too long. From there, join Troy and tell him you are going to punish us, distract him. It won't be hard for Kenny and the others to put him out. We go out through the window, it's already broken anyway. Simple." Clementine said.

"What? Clem... they're going to shoot us the moment we leave here." Bonnie said, slightly worried.

"Do you have a better idea? There's no way we can get out of here without being seen. It's not like we can wipe out all the guards in this place." Clementine rebutted, and Bonnie sighed in defeat.

The woman stared at Clementine strangely for a while, wondering how a child could act like that.

"...Okay. I'll help... but you need to go now, and fast." Bonnie said, and Clementine smiled at the woman.

"Thank you." The girl thanked her, not waiting for an answer, and readied herself to get out of there.

The walk back to her room was almost the same as the way out. Few guards and those who approached her had not seen her in the darkness.

As soon as she reached her room, the girl covered the hole again and lay down on the bed. Unlike the bed in the yard, this one was comfortable.

But even though it was comfortable, she simply didn't feel well enough to sleep. Not in that room, alone, where some stranger had the key to the only door in the place.

Getting up, Clementine places the pillows under the sheet, giving the impression that someone was lying there, and she lies down under the bed.

Despite the cold hard floor, she felt sleep approaching much faster and her body relaxed more. A short time later she was asleep.

Clementine awoke to a knock on the door and quickly got up. Straightening her clothes and brushing the dust off her back, she ignores the pain in her body and walks to the door, opening it.

"Good morning, Clem. Here's your breakfast." Bonnie said, entering the room and placing the tray of food on the table.

Clementine nodded to her and started eating, feeling Bonnie's eyes on her back.

"...Carver has already left. He is expected back later this afternoon." The woman said, and the girl stared at her.

"Good. We won't be here when he gets back." Clementine said, enjoying the cereal in her bowl.

"...Are you sure you want to do this?" Bonnie asked, and Clementine faced her with an arched eyebrow. "I told you before. When Luke called me to run away, I chickened out... don't you think I'd do something like that again? Not to mention, this place is..."

"This place is ruled by a psychopathic tyrant who kills innocents, and you know it. You're not gonna chicken out, not with Carver away. The people here just take advantage of the fear he causes, but they're not exactly a threat." Clementine replied, saying it with firmness in her voice and even a bit of rudeness, something she hadn't intended to be, but it just slipped out.

"...It's painful to know that the person I admired so much was never there. Carver saved me. And he really was a good man but... at some point, he started to change. And I realized it, but I chickened out of opening my eyes. Especially being in this place." Bonnie said, crossing her arms and looking down at the floor with a certain amount of regret.

"Well, you've opened your eyes now. That's good." Clementine said, putting the bowl back on the tray.

Bonnie looked at her and smiled slightly, walking to the door.

"Come on, your shift is about to start." Bonnie said and Clementine nodded, approaching the woman and walking through the interior of the store until she reached the armory.

"You know they're going to open fire, right? Troy and Stan are on the roof right now." Bonnie asked after they got there, taking a seat across from Clementine.

"I know. But we can' t run away without them noticing. And even if they open fire, hitting moving targets is harder. Not to mention that they'll draw that herd over here." Clementine replied, also sitting back in her chair, but not doing her job.

She didn't need to.

Bonnie continued to stare at her for a while, until she sighed and picked up a backpack.

"...Nice of us to work in the armory, isn't it? Put some pistols and ammo in here." Bonnie said, and Clementine arched her eyebrows in surprise, doing as she was told.

"I... I think it's best to leave this with you." The woman said, and Clementine stared at the knife she was holding.

Matthew's knife.

Clementine picked up the blade still inside the sheath and stared at it for a few moments, remembering the two men and how they died. She gave a wistful sigh.

"I... I don't know whose it was, but... that man at the lodge, the one in the red sweater, he looked pretty desperate when we took that knife. He was your friend, so..." Bonnie said ruefully, and Clementine put the knife away in her backpack.

"... Thank you." She said, and the two stared at each other for a while.

"I'll go out and get the others as soon as I can. You guys stay hidden. I left some backpacks with supplies near one of the exits last night. When we go out, I'll get them." Bonnie said.

Clementine arched an eyebrow.

"Oh, don't give me that look. I said I chickened out on running away, not on helping the others escape. Not to mention... it was easy to do that in the night. I'm an officer, no one cares to see me walking around." Bonnie.

Clementine shrugged and continued to fill her backpack.

As soon as she was done, Bonnie picked up a bucket and put the backpack in it, plugging the bucket soon after.

"There. Go take it to them. You know where it is. I'll show up there in ten minutes. If Troy shows up before then, tell him I'll be there and he won't get you out until I show up, okay?" Bonnie said.

Clementine nodded and made her way out of the armory.

She reached the area they were working in and looked at Troy who was leaning on his rifle on the roof.

The man stared at her and opened his mouth to say something, but when he saw the bucket in her hand, he just stood still watching her with a not very friendly expression.

Clementine was not intimidated, but pretended to have a frightened look on her face and hurried her steps to the end of that area under construction.

As soon as she arrived, she saw Kenny talking to Mike about something. Probably some plan for them to get out of there.

"Guys." She called out to them, and the three of them turned toward her.

"Ah, Clem! Are you okay?!" Kenny asked, approaching her with quick steps and a relieved look on his face.

"We were worried when you didn't come back to the yard last night." Duck said, his face dirty from a bit of dust, and a small smile on his face.

"Yes, I'm fine. And we're going to be even better." Clementine said, placing the bucket on the ground over the curious and confused looks of the three men.

As soon as she opened her backpack, they immediately widened their eyes.

"Holy shit..." Kenny muttered, taking one of the pistols from the backpack and staring at it for a while.

"Where the hell did you get all this stuff?" Mike asked, also picking up one of the pistols.

"I work at the armory, remember? And Bonnie agreed to help get us out of here. Carver left the camp some time ago." Clementine said, watching the three now armed men.

"Carver's out? Why didn't anyone tell us that?" Duck asked.

"Because he plans to come back later today. He'll probably arrive before our shift ends, so we wouldn't even know." The girl replied. Covering the bucket again as she watched them put their weapons in their waists, concealing them with their blouses. "Troy will be coming here. We've got-"

"What the fuck are you doing?!" Troy's irritated voice interrupted her, and the girl turned to him in surprise. "Wasting time again?! Girl, I am on the last of my nerves with you!" Troy grunted as he approached, staring only at Clementine with angry, rigid eyes.

He stopped a few steps away from her, not getting too close to the three men ahead.

"Come here! If they ask you to deliver something, just fucking deliver it!" Troy grunted, and Clementine sighed, moving closer to him.

As soon as she did, Troy grabbed her by the neck and started pulling her out.

The moment he turned around, however, quick footsteps were heard, and he tried to turn around as he became alert. But before he could, his face was hit by a strong punch from Kenny and his body hit the ground.

Clementine was startled and looked at the man in surprise, ready to protest. However, she fell silent when Duck pointed his pistol at Troy and Kenny grabbed the man's rifle, kicking him in the face and sending him to the ground again.

"What the fuck... are you assholes thinking?!" Troy asked amidst grunts of pain, blood dripping from the side of his mouth.

"I'm sorry, Troy. I was kind of liking you. But I'm tired of hearing your voice all day." Duck said, hitting Troy in the side of the head with the handle of his pistol a few times until he knocked him out... Clementine had the impression that he purposely used less force to hurt the man more.

"What happened here?!" Bonnie's voice caught her attention, and Clementine sighed.

"They weren't supposed to do that here, but... I guess it works. I should have known." Clementine said.

"But what about the other guard?! I told you Troy wasn't alone on the roof!" Bonnie exclaimed worriedly.

"... You walk out of here with Kenny. You go up the roof and tell Stan that Troy stayed behind because of a fight between Mike and Kenny. And then Kenny knocks him out. That way, at least, we won't get shot from the roof when we leave." Clementine said, alternating her gaze between the two.

Both Bonnie and practically everyone else there were looking at Clementine in a strange way. In Duck's case, even in surprise and awe.

"Geez, Clem! You're awesome!" The boy exclaimed.

"What? Clem..." Bonnie tried.

"I'm in." Kenny said, sounding somewhat excited.

"I have to say I agree. Damn, I feel weird accepting that kind of an idea from a little girl." Mike said, arms crossed and his gaze staring at the ground. "In the meantime, Duck and I will stay and tie Troy up. We can hide him in the back. If any of the other guards show up, we now have weapons." Mike said, picking up one of the ropes they were using for the job.

"Right... damn, right. Kenny, put your hands back and... I don't know, try to look like you're a prisoner. Stan's kind of jumpy." Bonnie said, approaching Kenny.

"You got it. I'll be the best prisoner you ever had." Kenny said, doing as Bonnie instructed and walking out of there with his wife.

"Fucking let me go, asshole! That motherfucker started it! I'm gonna kill that piece of shit!"

Clementine heard Kenny shout from outside, and sighed.

Smooth, Kenny, real smooth.

Turning around, she faces Mike tying up Troy's body and putting a tape over his mouth.

"What do we do about the others?" Duck asked, helping Mike carry Troy's body to the back.

"Bonnie will go after them. There aren't many walkers in the yard out there and the guards on the roof have already been dealt with. We can just break that window and get out of here." Clementine explained, pointing to the window in the place still with glass intact, but with some boards tacked up in front of it.

Good thing there was a hammer in the toolbox right there on the floor.

"We were talking about how we were going to get you and get out of this place. We even considered using the herd that is nearby." Mike said, approaching her after hiding Troy's body. "We had no idea that Carver was going to leave."

"Because he wasn't going to. It was a last minute thing. Apparently a group that was searching for materials and supplies was attacked and most of them died." Clementine said.

"Ah, gee, lucky us. Damn, these weapons will help us a lot. Although I hope we don't have to use them." Mike said, bending down and picking up the bucket with the backpack from the ground.

"I hope so too. I don't want to have to kill anyone here." Clementine said.

"Just Carver. It's a shame we can't kill him. But to hell with it, getting out of here is more important." Duck said.

"He will chase us again." Clementine mentioned, crossing her arms and looking at the ground.

"Oh, of course he will. Only this time, he'll kill us." Duck said.

"Do you guys really think he's going to come after us? I mean... this is a big community, but the problems in here are proportional to the size. I've been working here for a while now. The plumbing system is having problems all the time, the materials for the expansion are running out fast. More and more guards die." Mike said.

"Yes, I'm sure. Maybe not right away, but sooner or later, he will." Clementine said, turning toward the door as Bonnie and Kenny approached with Stan's body knocked out in the man's arms.

Mike quickly helped Kenny carry the man and also began to tie him up.

Clementine arched her eyebrows as she saw Jane and Luke enter right after them.

"Jane, Luke?"

"We were working on the roof. There was some problem with the greenhouse and we had to get some materials down. Bonnie explained everything." Luke explained, picking up a pistol that Duck held out in his direction.

"Did you guys get guns?" Jane asked, also picking up a gun.

"Benefit of working in the armory. You guys will stay here, hiding, while I search for the others. If we can't get out, for some reason or another, we'll meet at Parker's run." Bonnie said, hurrying out of there.

"Parker's run?" Kenny asked.

"It's a Civil War site not far from here. We went there when we escaped before. The herd is still nearby, we'll have to go there anyway." Luke replied, walking over to the nailed window and running his eyes through the glass.

"We'll have to break it." He said loudly, grabbing a hammer from the toolbox and breaking the glass with ease. Soon after, he begins to unpick some of the boards, just enough to make an opening big enough for them to pass through.

"We were worried. What happened to you?" Luke asked, turning to Clementine.

"Carver called me into his office and soon after put me in another room saying I was to be his heiress." She replied.

"The fuck?" Duck exclaimed incredulously.

"Are you serious?" Luke asked, and Clementine just nodded in confirmation.

"... Are you the one who talked to Bonnie?" Jane asked, leaning on the wall right next to the girl.

"Yes. I couldn't have gone through the whole community to the yard. Not to mention that I didn't have much time." The girl replied, slightly curious by the woman's approach.

Jane was... mysterious, to say the least.

"...It's a good plan. Carver left the camp with some guards who would certainly be trouble." The woman said.

"And the guards who stayed are more concerned with doing what they shouldn't now that he's away or standing guard at the expansion out front which is the most important." Clementine said, feeling slightly bothered by the way Jane looked at her.

As if she had found something precious. A different look than Carver's but one that reminded the girl of said man.

"That's impressive... for a child." Jane said.

"I not just a child." Clementine said slightly irritated.

"Oh. I'm sorry if I offended you or anything. It's just... you seem to take good care of yourself." Jane said.

"... Thank you. I have to." Clementine said.

The sound of the door being opened caught their attention again, and Clementine turned away from the wall, thinking it was Bonnie.

"What the fuck?" The surprised voice was yes a woman's, but it wasn't Bonnie.

Tavia.

The woman ran her surprised and frightened eyes through them, and she immediately pointed her rifle at Kenny, who was closest to her.

"Whoa, calm down, Tavia." Luke said, and the woman stared at him.

"Luke?! What the fuck is going on here?! What the fuck are you guys doing?!" Tavia asked, focusing her eyes on the broken window and the boards on the floor for a few moments, before focusing her eyes on Luke again, putting two and two together.

"...Are you kidding me?! Again?! Where's Troy?!" She asked.

"Tavia, you don't have to do that. Just let us go. We didn't hurt anyone, Troy is fine." Luke said, trying to sound as gentle and calm as he could.

Although his efforts were not appreciated by Tavia, who just picked up her radio.

Clementine sighed and took a step back as she saw Kenny and Duck point their guns at the woman, who stood still on the spot with her gun still pointed at Kenny.

"You don't want to do that." Duck said.

"You warn your little friends and you die." Kenny said, and Tavia didn't move as Duck approached and took the radio from her.

"We can use this." The boy said, handing the radio to Luke.

Mike approached Tavia and took her rifle, as well as the knife the woman had and the ammo in her jacket pocket.

"You are going to regret this. Carver won't let this go." The woman warned. Although she didn't care about their lives.

"We're gonna live. You can go back to being that crazy son of a bitch's puppy. How long do you think it will be before he kills you, huh?" Kenny asked, watching Jane and Mike tie Tavia up.

"Guys?" Rebecca's voice caught their attention, and they turned toward the door.

Rebecca was approaching with a confused expression and a backpack on her back.

Sarita was right next to her with two backpacks, one on her back and one in her hand.

Carlos and Sarah were right behind, next to Bonnie.

" Tavia..."

"Bonnie. Is this what you do now? Stab your friends in the back?" The woman said, and Bonnie lowered her head in a sigh.

"I'm sorry, Tavia. But I can't be around Carver anymore. He's changed." Bonnie said, moving closer to the window.

"I see you've become a thief too. I didn't know you'd get this low, Bonnie." Tavia teased again.

"Shut up." Duck said, covering Tavia's mouth with duct tape and putting the tape in his pocket.

"Is everyone ready? It won't be long before they notice we're missing. But by then, we'll be long gone." Bonnie said, and they all nodded.

"Here, Clem." Sarita handed Clementine her backpack. The same one she was wearing before she was captured.

Clementine nodded to the woman and they got out of there, running across the yard toward the forest quickly.

But before they could get much deeper, Clementine stopped.

"Luke." She called out to the man, who stared at her.

"What is it, Clem?"

"The herd... is it far away?" The young man arched an eyebrow in confusion.

"Ahm... no. The herd is close, although it won't hit the community."

"How big is it?"

"I... I don't know. But Carver mentioned it's the biggest he's ever seen. He said it must have at least a hundred of those things." Luke replied, crossing his arms.

"...Carver will come after us. He has vehicles, and we don't. We can slow them down if we lure the herd here. We left a broken window behind." Clementine said, and soon, Luke's confused expression quickly turned to surprise.

"You want to lure the horde?! And how would you do that?!" Mike asked, and in response, Clementine showed her pistol.

"One shot, and nothing else."

"That makes sense. They will certainly have to deal with the herd first. And with the pace of the expansion, surely some part of the community will be destroyed." Kenny said, crossing his arms and looking at the community with thoughtful eyes.

"Whoa, whoa, hold on. We left Tavia tied up there. If the herd comes here, she will die." Luke said.

"True. Troy and Stan too." Bonnie agreed. "Clem, in other words, you are suggesting that we kill them. Even if indirectly." Bonnie continued, looking at the girl.

"I... I know. It was just an idea. We don't have to do it if you don't want to. I'm just saying that Carver will come to kill us next time." Clementine said, putting away her pistol and running her eyes between the still thoughtful adults.

"Do you understand what I said, now? That girl is not normal." Carlos said, his hand firmly squeezing Sarah's, who was just keeping quiet.

"Shut the fuck up, doc. That girl just got us out of there." Kenny grunted.

"And now she's suggesting we have some carnage using the dead as weapons." Carlos replied.

"Oh, for God's sake. Where were you when we needed you, huh? Where was your daughter? You guys didn't help at all for fuck's sake. Just shut up and be quiet! At least Clem is doing something!" Kenny spat again, turning around and making sure he ignored everything Carlos said.

"The girl is right." Jane said, putting a hand on her waist.

"Still. We can't just kill them! I know Troy is a piece of shit and Tavia is loyal to Carver but... it would be cruel." Luke said.

"The fact is that if the walkers enter the community, they will lose a lot. Especially considering it's a horde. That glass and the fragile part of the expansion will break down. A lot of people might die, actually." Mike said, he seemed to be conflicted with himself.

"Which would lessen the risk of him coming after us. And even if he does come, he won't have many resources." Kenny said.

"I don't know if I feel right about letting so many people die. Many of them are only there because they have no other option to survive." Sarita said.

"And others are there because they agree with Carver's ideology and follow him loyally. We're wasting time here, are we going to do this, or not?" Jane hurried on, and everyone there was silent but thoughtful.

Even those who objected, like Luke, were considering both options.

"If we shoot now, the guards will notice and may find Tavia and the others before the walkers get close. Although close, the horde is slow." Clementine said. "But in case I am wrong and they are not found... they will die."

"Yes, people loyal to Carver will die. Let's do it quickly." Kenny said, and before anyone could go against it, he stood at the edge of the forest, raised his pistol, and fired.

A few moments passed, and he fired again, turning around soon after and walking into the forest.

"Shit..." Luke muttered, seeming to be grumbling to himself inside.

"Now it's done. Let's go." Jane said, following Kenny.

Soon, the group began walking into the forest.

A few minutes later, they heard gunfire in the distance, evidencing that the first horde walkers had approached.
