The antartida. Over the years, many scientists have visited the site in search of what may be hidden under the ice. Over the years and with technological advances, an eco-observation research base was built in the heart of Antarctica. However... who said that installing a research center in such a brutal place would be easy?

Years ago. ( Research Center - Antarctica. )

"Uh. We're still stuck in this terrible cold storm, it's crazy. We missed our resupply window. So the captain is going to put the whole team into hibernation." A bespectacled girl said with a smile as she looked at the camera.

"Come on Mei, to the Cryogenic chamber." Said a man while he left a cup on the table where she was. That statement surprised the girl a lot.

"Now?." Mei asked in surprise making the man laugh.

"Haha, an hour ago." The man said with a smile before leaving.

"I'm coming. I'm going to leave the systems on. Then when I wake up, I'll have new data to examine." Mei said with a smile before putting the cup down and placing it on the table.

"Mei!! You're late for nap time!!." A man yelled causing Mei to smile sheepishly.

"Sorry. Hehe, bye." Mei said before turning off the camera.

Time passed. The storm seemed to have no end and was only getting worse. A big problem with making a research base in Antarctica was that, regardless of technology or construction. The weather may be even more dangerous than one might predict...

The base was now in complete darkness. The corridors were completely empty and lifeless, inside a room there were six huge Cryogenic chambers. Suddenly, electricity reappeared in the place and one of the Cryogenic chambers began to open.

Mei began to slowly wake up before beginning to stretch. The girl tried to touch the floor with her feet but she quickly put on her slippers sensing that the floor was very cold before walking to the middle of the room.

"Wake up, snowball." Mei said wearily as the girl placed a hand on a drone. Suddenly the robot began to wake up and noticing the girl, the drone seemed very happy making Mei laugh.

"Up, sleepyheads." Mei said before leaving with Snowball to start the day.

Mei walked to the bathroom to start her daily routine. The girl was going to brush her teeth but she gradually fell asleep, however snowball began to shake the girl's arm causing Mei to wake up, however the girl used the hair dryer with the robot causing Snowball to fly away.

After getting ready and dressing. Mei walked to the kitchen to prepare everyone's food, the girl would put the kettle on the fire and take out some cups before putting them on the table and then go to see the central computer of the base.

"Very good. Let's analyze our new data set." The girl said excitedly before beginning to analyze the new data.

"Hmm, the atmospheric fluctuations on the anomaly have arrived." Mei looked at the data only to be shocked as was Snowball.

"It's much worse than the prediction. We have to take this to the head office." Mei said seriously but the girl then started backing away seeing how more and more data was coming to the computer.

"Where did all this data come from?...Snowball, how long were we asleep?" The girl asked fearfully. But the fear only grew bigger when the robot showed the following. Nine years.

"What!? No!! Overwatch would have come for us!!" Mei screamed in horror before watching Snowball float towards a cargo port. Suddenly, the robot displayed on a large screen multiple newspapers, magazines and news about what happened, but suddenly, the robot showed a huge newspaper that said "Overwatch destroyed".

"Destroyed...no one knows we are here. One moment, where are they all?" The girl looked around to see that she was alone making her heart speed increase rapidly.

Mei began to run desperately through the corridors until she reached the room where she and all her classmates were. The girl quickly approached the capsules to check the captain's pulse but to her horror. There was no pulse.

"No, no, no!! This has to be a mistake!!" Mei quickly looked at all the other pods only to recoil in horror. Neither capsule showed signs of life, which caused the girl to fall sitting on the floor in the middle of the room before starting to cry out of fear.

Although Mei, she was grateful to still be alive. Losing her co-workers who were like her best friends to her, how close she could possibly have died, and her loneliness made the girl unable to help but cry due to a bout of depression.

The hours passed. Mei was still in the same position, the girl was calm now but she was fighting to get over what she saw in the capsule and above all to assimilate the loneliness she was now.

"Nine years of data. It could save millions of lives." Mei said as she looked at the memory she had in her hand before getting up and looking at the capsules where the others were.

"I'll take our work out into the world, my friends. Umm, well. I'll try." Mei said shyly before looking at snowball. The little robot nodded before leaving with the girl to prepare to go out.

Mei left the base wearing a large winter coat before walking to one of the vehicles on site. When the girl opened the door, she to her surprise saw that the vehicle was filled to the brim with snow.

"Damn..." Mei said before closing the vehicle door.

"Snowball, can you tell me the status of the helicopter?" The girl asked causing the robot to fly to where the other vehicle is, however, to Snowball's disappointment, the helicopter was completely frozen.

"Don't be disappointed, Snowball. We're going to check the antenna, maybe we can send the data and find a way out of here." Mei said before walking over to where the antenna is. However, to the surprise of both. The satellite dish was damaged and almost completely frozen.

"Oh shit. The antenna's not working, what now?" The girl asked in frustration before remembering something that made her return to the base with Snowball.

There was only one exit left. Mei opened a gate inside the base causing the girl to look at a desolate landscape of snow. The girl backed away in fear due to the severe cold storm before closing the main hatch.

The hours passed and Mei was frustrated, the girl was thinking about how to find a way to send the data or to get out. But everything was in vain, the strong snow storm, the cold, the lack of help and the lack of vehicles made each idea fail.

"Ugh. I can't do this alone, I wish they were here." Mei said before looking at a photograph of the investigation team sadly. At that moment the girl heard something and she turned to see Snowball with a cup of hot chocolate on his head making the girl smile.

"Thank you, Snowball. At least it makes me happy to have you by my side." the girl said with a smile before petting the little robot. However, the two at that moment saw how the electricity began to fail.

"Now let's see if we can extend the life of the batteries." Mei said with concern but suddenly the girl noticed that one of the computers seemed to be trying to display a message.

"Wait. What is this?" Mei analytically looked at the message and could hear some slightly distorted voices.

"This message is being broadcast on Overwatch's distress signal. Maybe someone knows we're here." Mei said happily making Snowball happy as well. The girl got up from her chair and looked at the satellite dish analytically.

"If only I could..." Mei sighed in frustration as she couldn't think of something, but the girl then took a closer look at the damage and with the glass fogged up, the girl marked the most damaged parts of the antenna causing her to have an idea.

"Come on, Snowball. We're not frozen yet." Mei said with a smile before going with Snowball to the bathroom. The girl looked at the hair dryer curiously before leaving the room with the item before taking it to a work table.

Time passed quickly, Mei did not stop working endlessly with everything that was in the base. The girl was able to create a prototype weapon with the hair dryer, and a homemade satellite dish. Only the ammunition for the weapon was missing, thanks to her intelligence and her enormous knowledge in science, Mei managed to use the contents of the tank in the Cryogenic room to create a substance that the slightest contact could create ice.

"Yeah yeah yeah! Snowball, we did it!" Mei squealed with joy as she jumped with excitement. The robot at that moment showed a picture of a hand in greeting, but at that moment they both high-fived, the electricity went out.

"What? Oh no, please, please not now, please not now!!." Mei tried to run the machine but it didn't work. That made Snowball and the girl go check out the base's batteries.

"I totally forgot about batteries. Without power, we're dead. Ugh, come on, there's got to be another way. Come on, I just need a little more time, please." Snowball looked at Mei trying to think of something and then looked at her charge center. The robot gave Mei one last look sadly before flying to the charging hub and starting to power the entire base with her energy.

"Electricity. Snowball, we're saved, it's a miracle!!." Mei yelled with joy but suddenly that joy changed to sadness when she saw how Snowball gave all her energy until she completely turned off.

"No...no, snowball, please. Why." She walked to where the robot is before releasing tears from what your robot friend did before slowly calming down.

"Thank you, my friend. I promise I won't let you down." Mei said determinedly before activating the machine again so she could load the weapon. The girl would put on her snowsuit and a backpack with the liquid on her back before heading out.

Mei left the base and looked at the satellite dish before activating the weapon, the girl fired and the moment the liquid hit the metal, a large layer of ice quickly formed. The girl began to slowly climb the antenna and using her weapon, Mei made sure that the antenna didn't collapse while she kept climbing.

However, when she leaned on one of the parts of the antenna, the metal would come loose causing Mei to jump but that caused the metal to fall on the girl's ice but also on a gas tank causing a great explosion that generated that the antenna falls Mei quickly reacted and used her gun to shoot before closing her eyes in fear.

Mei slowly opened her eyes only to be shocked to see a huge wall of ice that was able to trap the satellite dish.

"Wow." Mei looked at her invention in amazement before putting the weapon away so she could continue climbing until she reached the top. When the girl got to the top, she took out the memory before plugging it into the computer and with the satellite dish she made quickly she searched for the signal.

"Come on, come on please." Mei said nervously and suddenly to the happiness of the girl. Winston's image appeared on the computer.

"To all Overwatch agents, ugh. That doesn't sound right."

"Winston! What happened?" Mei asked curiously but suddenly the girl looked confused when I appeared in the video.

"People call you criminals, after all the sacrifices you've made to save the world. That attack that happened, not only destroyed Overwatch. It also destroyed your family."

"But now look around you!!."

Mei slowly looked at the souvenir in her hand and then looked up at the sky as my words and Winston's words were clearly heard, making Mei think about everything we had said while she looked up at the sky to take in the beautiful night scenery.

"Are they with us?" Winston asked before the transmission ended.

"Yes, Winston. I'm with you." The girl said with determination before slowly starting to get down from the satellite dish.

Mei was now in front of her friends' Cryogenic capsules, now their graves. The girl set each of their cups in front of the capsules before serving them all hot chocolate while the girl held a minute of silence for everyone.

Mei left the room in silence before taking some things and approaching the hatch of the base. The girl opened the hatch only to see the snowy desert but this time, she didn't back down and started walking through the snow.

Present.

Traveling in a snowstorm is not easy, especially when it is night. Although my magic of fire covered me from the cold, the storm still didn't let me see clearly.

"Benja, this is Winston. How are you?" The scientist asked through the comlink as I continued to fly with an aura of fire around me.

"I'm fine. But the snowstorm doesn't let me see clearly, I just hope I can get to the base soon." I said with difficulty which worried Winston.

"Hold on a bit, Benja. If things get worse I'll come find you and we'll plan another way to rescue the survivors." Said the scientist but then I noticed something in the distance.

"I think I see something, Winston. I'll call you later." I said before flying faster.

Mei was in trouble. The girl was happy because this morning she had created a solar panel to charge Snowball, although the plan worked. Now she was having a hard time walking due to heavy snow storms.

"Hold on, Snowball. Everything will be fine." Mei said with difficulty before falling to the ground due to exhaustion. That greatly alarmed the robot.

"I'm fine, Snowball. But we have to find shelter now or find a way to shelter from the storm." The girl said tiredly, but then she noticed that Snowball saw something approaching, making Mei look too lonely to see light in the middle of the blizzard.

"Hello!!. This way!!." Mei yelled hoping it was a helicopter but to her astonishment she noticed it was fire and not light. But the girl was more surprised when she saw me inside the fire.

"Hello!! Is everything alright!?" I yelled before starting to slowly go down as Mei recoiled from the impact.

"How, how is it possible. You, were in the fire. How." Mei backed away from the impact making me nervous.

"Relax. Umm, my name is Benjamin. I'm from Overwatch." I said before removing my mask making Mei look at me in surprise.

"Wait. You were at the Overwatch emergency signal. But, I never saw you before in Overwatch." Mei said making me laugh shyly.

"It's a long story. I'll tell you about it on the way, and umm. What's your name?" I ask curiously making Mei relax.

"My name is Mei. I am a scientist at the Antarctic Eco-Observation Base." Said the girl making me surprised.

"Are you from the team from the observatory here? Athena told us that someone here received the message that Winston and I sent, was it you?" I asked curiously while looking at the girl.

"Yeah, um. I got the message." Mei said shyly making me smile.

"That's good but. Why are you out here in the middle of the storm? I was flying to look for the people here." I said surprised but then I noticed that Mei lowered her head.

"Me. I'm all that's left, the rest of my companions…are dead." Mei said sadly making me lower my head.

"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked." I said sadly making Mei sigh.

"Okay. It doesn't matter anymore, now I'm determined to go to Overwatch so I can help the world." Mei said determinedly making me smile.

"I'm glad to hear that. Well, we have to go to Gibraltar. That's the closest Overwatch base of operations." I said while looking at the girl.

"But Gibraltar is miles away from here. If someone comes looking for us, the storm could very possibly get worse and we'll get stuck." Mei said with concern making me smile sheepishly.

"I have an idea. But, promise me you won't freak out." I said shyly before walking a bit away while Mei looked at everything in confusion and Snowball slowly got out of the girl's back.

Slowly a turquoise glow began to cover me and Mei watched in amazement as I began to grow and my body began to change but the glow became stronger causing the girl to cover her eyes. Mei slowly opened her eyes as she noticed that the brightness disappeared and was shocked to see a giant nine-tailed fox in front of her.

"Come on, Mei. Get on." I said before lowering my head. Mei was completely shocked by what she saw and suddenly the girl fainted causing me to tense up.

"Oops. I'm definitely going to have a lot to explain to Mei when she wakes up." I said with concern before delicately holding Mei with my fauses before putting her on my back. I closed my eyes causing vines to grow on me and wrap around the girl to prevent her from falling.

"Very good. With my transformation, I think I'll be in Gibraltar in an hour." I said as I turned around as Snowball floated to the load center that Mei carried on her back so she could hold on.

"Very good. I just hope I don't scare Winston or Tracer." I said before starting to run at high speed back to the Overwatch base.

"Alright Lena, I think that's enough." Winston said with a smile as he watched as Tracer used his accelerator to speed across the room.

Winston had some difficulty but the gorilla managed to repair Tracer's accelerator, thanks to Athena's plans it was easy to discover the problem and they managed to repair it in time.

"Thank you so much Winston, I feel amazing!!" Tracer yelled with a huge smile.

"Winston. I detect something approaching, my sensors say that it is...a giant fox." Athena said. That statement confused everyone and they left the base only to see a gigantic fox approaching the base.

"Winston. Here benja, I'm approaching the base with a girl named Mei." I said through the comlink but that shocked Winston a lot.

"Benja. Are you the fox that is approaching the base?" Tracer asked curiously making me laugh sheepishly.

"Yes. This is my appearance as a giant kitsune. Umm, when I get there I'll tell you my whole story and Mei too. She's passed out, I think I should have told her earlier." I said shyly as I was slowly getting closer to the base before taking a big jump to go up to a platform where Tracer and Winston were.

"It can't be. A giant fox!!". Tracer quickly jumped on me making me laugh as the girl touched my fur and scratched behind my ears.

"Hahaha, Winston you must see this. God, it's so soft. I feel like I could sleep here!!." The girl yelled making Winston laugh.

"I must admit that I am now very surprised, Benja. You are able to transform into a huge giant fox and run on water. I definitely need to study your powers." Said the gorilla making me smile.

"Don't worry, Winston. I'll explain everything you need to know about my power. Now, I think it would be better to take Mei to a room." I said before holding the girl delicately with my fauses before putting her down, that made Tracer come down from my back to see Mei.

"Don't worry, honey. I'll take her to a room, when she wakes up I'll call them." Tracer said before picking Mei up and leading her to a room in the base.

"Very good, Benja. How is everything at the observatory?" Winston asked as I returned to my human form.

"I'm sorry, Winston. But. Actually, I found Mei walking away from the observatory, all the scientists in the observatory except her are dead." I said sadly causing the gorilla to get upset.

"Dammit. Didn't you run into any Talon agents around?" Winston asked seriously making me shake my head.

"No, I didn't meet any Talon agents. It's best to wait until Mei wakes up and ask her what happened." I said while looking at the scientist making Winston nod.

"Very good. Today was a very productive day, it's best to go rest now. Tomorrow we have many things to do." Winston said with a grin making me smile.

"That's right. I hope we can find more Overwatch agents tomorrow." I said smiling making Winston laugh.

"That's the attitude. I'm very grateful that you're with us so we can return Overwatch to its glory days, Benja. Very surely with your help, things will improve." Said the scientist with a smile as the two of us entered the base.

"No problem Winston. I'm a hero, and helping is what I do." I said smiling as we both go to rest.

Mei woke up slowly. The girl noted that she was back at the observatory, she looked around her in confusion before seeing Snowball fly in front of her.

"Snowball? But, us. How did we get back here?" The girl noticed a bright light ahead and saw a group of people with cups in their hands. People Mei recognized instantly.

"Be strong Mei. Protect our home, as we have always sought to achieve." A man said as he and the rest of Mei's friends raised their cups.

Mei suddenly woke up before holding her chest from the dream she had. The girl noticed that she was now in a rather large room and then felt something touch her shoulder, much to her joy. She saw that it was Snowball.

"Snowball. Nice to see you here, where are we?" Mei asked but suddenly the girl noticed that the door opened and she saw that it was Tracer.

"Hello honey, you must be Mei. The girl Benja brought last night, good morning." Tracer said with a smile making Mei remember everything at once.

"Wait. Everything was real? That boy, transformed into a fox, the Overwatch signal. Everything?" Mei asked with impact making Tracer laugh.

"That's right. Hehehe, come on. Winston and Benja will be happy to see that you are awake, and they may also explain what happened last night." Tracer said with a smile before disappearing which hit Mei.

"She disappeared." The girl said with surprise but then startled to see Tracer appear again at the door.

"Oops, sorry. I forgot that you are new here, come on, I'll take you with Winston and Benja." Tracer said with a shy smile while Mei got up before leaving with Lena.

"Very good Benja. In your story you mentioned that you are able to use electricity. So, let's see how much energy you can free from your body." Winston said while he connected me to the computer.

"Okay, Winston. But I'm just going to release a little, I don't want to overload the computer." I said before starting to release some electricity by making the gorilla see this in amazement before seeing the computer.

"Athena. Tell me the state of energy that Benja releases." Winston said while Mei and Tracer reached where we both were.

"The electric power that Benja expels from its body is capable of giving energy to the base, surpassing the emergency batteries and reaching a power of 150% capacity." Athena said which impressed Winston and the girls.

"Wow Benja. You are definitely 'turning things on'." Winston said with a smile making me laugh a little as well as Tracer but Mei seemed confused by the joke.

"Hey guys. Guess who woke up." Tracer said making us both turn around to look at Mei.

"Mei, what a joy to see that you already woke up." I said as she stopped releasing electricity before approaching where the girl is with Winston.

"You. How do you do all this? Cover yourself in fire, fly, release electricity and transform into a giant fox. What are you?" Mei asked with surprise and nervousness making me laugh sheepishly.

"Well. I guess it's time to tell my story in more depth, it's a long story so you'll have to pay attention." I said shyly while looking at Tracer and Mei.

"Oh, this is going to get interesting." Tracer said with a smile as the girl sat up to listen to me.

"Oh, believe me Lena. It's a very interesting story." Winston said with a smile making Mei listen to everything carefully.

The hours passed. Tracer and Mei listened to my story from start to finish, the girls couldn't help but be amazed by the things I've done and lived through, but I caught their attention when I told them how I got here.

"Suddenly an electric sphere appeared and started sucking everything around me. I had to ask Adam and the black herons to leave the place quickly, but my girlfriends Nadia and Tatsu were in serious trouble so I decided to use my magic to save them, but I ended up sucked in and showed up here." I said while looking at the girls and Winston shyly scratched his head.

"That's right. It was my fault. I was frustrated that the shield generator would fail and I thought that if I used Tracer's accelerator I could improve the ability of the generator, but instead. I created the first machine capable of defying the time and space." Winston said shyly.

"Oh well. Don't worry darling, I guarantee you'll be back in your dimension before you know it." Tracer said with a smile making me smile.

"Thanks Tracer, I promise until I have to go. I'll help bring Overwatch back." I said smiling but then I noticed something hiding behind Mei.

"Mei, what was hiding behind you?" I asked curiously making the girl turn to look at Snowball.

"Oh well. Come on, Snowball. Easy, it's all good." Mei said with a smile. Suddenly we saw that the little robot slowly began to peek out before leaving the girl's back.

"Aww, what a cute little thing." Tracer said with a smile as she petted Snowball.

"Hehehe, he's cute. He's Snowball, a companion robot we had at the base in Antarctica." Mei said with a smile but then the girl lowered her head causing everyone to look at this in surprise.

"I'm sorry for asking but... why didn't anyone come looking for us in these years?" Mei asked curiously making Winston sigh in disappointment.

"Months before Overwatch was destroyed, we tried to contact the base in Antarctica but no one answered, we got worried and tried to send a rescue team. But when the day came to send that team, the Overwatch base was attacked. The government forbade us all kinds of activity." Said the gorilla with disappointment causing Mei to be surprised.

"I'm so sorry Mei. If we knew someone was alive, I would have gone on my own." Winston said sadly causing me to put a hand on the scientist's shoulder.

"Winston. It's not your fault that this happened but...if there were people, why didn't they contact Winston to try to ask for help?." I asked curiously making Mei think.

"Well. The arctic storms were obstructing communications and sending an emergency message or signal was difficult, plus our biggest problem was how little food we had left. So we all went to some Cryogenic capsules to wait for Overwatch but... Nine years have passed and I am the only one who survived." Mei said sadly.

"Don't feel bad, Mei. You won't be alone anymore. You have us, we will be your friends and your family. I assure you that everything will be fine." Tracer said with a smile making the girl smile.

"Thank you guys so much. I promise I'll help too, I'll help people and save innocent lives with you." Mei said with a smile making me look at this curiously.

"That's good to hear but. Mei, how will you help us? Do you have experience with any weapons?" I asked curiously making Mei smile.

"Of course. I created a prototype weapon capable of launching a substance that I invented capable of creating solid ice at the slightest contact." Said the girl with a smile making us all surprised.

"Fascinating. I'd like you to show me that prototype, Mei. I can help you improve it." Winston said with a smile making Mei smile.

"Winston. My sensors indicate that another agent received Overwatch's emergency message." Said Athena making us all go to the computer.

"Athena, can you tell us where the agent is?" I asked curiously and we saw how a map marked the location.

"Location. Route 66." Athena said making me nod.

"Very well. That's where I should go then, who do you think it could be?" I asked curiously making Winston think.

"It's been a while but. I think I can find out who it is, I'll let you know when I find out what agent it might be." Winston said as he looks at me.

"Very good. I'll leave right now, I'll let you know if anything happens." I said as I walked to the door.

"Best of luck, honey. Be careful." Tracer said with a smile. Before I could leave, Mei stopped me.

"Wait. Umm, I want to thank you for bringing me here. I thought it would be the end of me and Snowball in that blizzard." Mei said with a shy smile making me smile.

"No problem, Mei. It's what heroes do. Save people. I hope we can get along." I said smiling before leaving.

"He said the same thing. Good luck!!." The girl yelled as I started to fly.

"See you later team!!." I yelled before flying away at high speed.

"Come on Snowball, there are many things to do." Mei said. That got the robot excited and the two of them headed back to base to catch up.

So far today's chapter. I hope you liked it and I also hope you are enjoying the story so far.

See you later. I hope you have a good day, afternoon or night. Goodbye dattebayo.
