Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon.
This is my second story, and I hope to make it better than my last one.
Hi. I'm Illustro, and I'm a Zoroark (I used to be a Zorua, but that's a long story). What can I say about myself? Well, for starters, I'm great at creating illusions. I have an ex-human friend (she's a Frosslass now, also a long story), named Lexi. I can read, write, and speak in both Human and Pokémon (kind of a long story, but shorter than the others). You're probably wondering "Illustro, how did you learn to read? How did you evolve? Who is this Froslass? Why are we listening to a Pokémon of all things?" Well, that's (partially) why I am writing this, to answer your questions (except the last one). Here we go (I know these are a lot of brackets, but hang with me)!
It was a dark and stormy night… No, actually, it was a bright and sunny day, without a cloud in the sky, which makes this kinda ironic. I was just taking a stroll with my trainer, Lexi, in Nacrene city. We were on our guard, having just seen a warning outside the city. It read as follows: "WANTED: All Zorua and Zoroark. These Pokémon are a harm to the human species and must be removed from Unova. If you see/know a Zorua/Zoroark, or know someone who is friends with one, please either report them to the nearest police station or send them off to sea. We don't care where they end up." Upon seeing this, I looked up at Lexi, and she looked down at me. Slightly worried, we took down the poster so nobody else would see it. When we entered Nacrene, the town looked deserted, with nobody in the streets. As we walked over to the pokemon center, I saw a little girl around the corner. I waved at her, and she ran away. Well, that's a bad sign. When we walked in, almost nobody was there. I could see a bit of Nurse Joy's hair over the desk, and I could see an Audino poorly hiding behind a plant. "I can see you," I said to the Audino. The Audino attempted to squeeze tighter behind the plant, saying things like "Get out," "You're evil," and "We won't treat you." I saw Lexi slowly stepping out, so I followed.
When we walked out of the pokemon center, we were immediately swept up by a mob of angry villagers. "Well," I said, "This isn't the day I had planned." I thought they would toss us to the police, but they walked past that and placed us in a rowboat at sea. A few buizel walked up to the boat, and before I could say anything to them, they put their tails into the water and jetted us off.
After a few hours of sleeping and making illusionary fish, we finally hit land. The first thing we discovered was that this new place was pretty cold. Almost freezing cold. "Well, I guess we're here," I said, getting rid of the fish. "Well," said Lexi, "Let's try to find civilization. Hopefully, they don't hate you." I nodded, and we walked forward not knowing what to expect.
It was about three hours after we arrived. It was night, and I had created an illusionary light so we could see. It wasn't a bright light, but it was the best I could do. We had spotted a temple atop a mountain, so we had started to hike towards it. My stomach growled, and that's when we discovered that we didn't have any food. Not good. Our hunger, combined with the cold, was going to kill us sooner or later. Our pace had slowed to a slow walk, and now we had stopped completely. Lexi was shivering all over, and I didn't have the strength to keep the light up. I could see her eyes beginning to close, so I nudged her forward a bit. We walked up to a rock to take a rest, and upon reaching it, Lexi collapsed. Vision starting to fade, I walked up to her and placed my paw on her wrist. No pulse. "Lexi…" is all I managed to say before everything went black.
