Theo honestly didn't know how he got into this situation. He was sitting in a room with both Fallen Angels and Devils. That in itself was amazing. It did slightly bother him that they were basically human looking but he was sure the devils were just keeping up appearances. He'd get to see their true forms very soon and then he'd draw them like his life depended on it. Of course, given how tense the situation, his life might get cut short soon. He was slightly disappointed Koneko couldn't be here too but apparently she had decided to talk with the other Devils.
"I say we cut our losses and run," Kholkikos spoke to him, "Perhaps we can take the small Fallen too. She's light enough. Not a very good shield though."
'We are not using her as a shield,' Theo grumbled to him. He tried to avoid glaring so he wouldn't make the wrong move in the group, 'Just keep calm. Everything will be alright.'
"You should believe that yourself before you ask me to remain calm,' Kholkikos snorted.
Theo inwardly sighed. He really hated having this dragon inside of him. He was already pessimistic enough. He didn't need more of it. So he just sat there awkwardly, watching Kiyome, who apparently was a beast tamer, try and talk between both groups. She looked just as nervous as he felt since she was stuttering and shaking.
"-A-And that is why… you have to remember our agreement about taking h-humans as your kind," Kiyome shook as she spoke. She was holding up a large letter with Rias's signature on it.
"I remember that, Kiyome." Rias said, "However, I have not broken it so we didn't have to go over it… again."
"Oh-"
"FINALLY!" Mittelt threw up her hands, "It's over. It felt like you were jabbering on for an hour."
"It was only twenty minutes," Kiyome looked away with a slight blush of embarrassment.
"Certainly felt more than that," Mittelt said with a huff, crossing her arms.
"How about we stay focused, hmmm?" Rias said, keeping herself calm and poised. "You came here to get Theo. I have assured you he is well. He is still human… mostly."
"Mostly?" Kiyome quirked an eyebrow.
Rias crossed her arms, "There's something about him I can't quite put my finger on. Before you ask, I didn't change anything about him. He's-"
"Oh my mom is Artemis," Theo said, interrupting the conversation. Everyone just stared at him. His eyes widened before he realized what he had just said, "Err….. please ignore that."
"A demigod?" Akeno put a hand on her cheek, "My my~ I didn't know we had that kind of company. I would have done much more for you if that's the case~"
Theo's face broke out into a bright blush. His mind was going twenty miles per hour and if this was a cartoon, he'd have smoke coming out of his ears. Mittelt was just as red but less because she was turned on and more because she was fuming. She pulled Theo's arm into her chest.
"Keep away from him, hussy."
"Is the flying rat jealous?" Akeno's eyes glinted maliciously, "I'll have to keep that in mind for later."
"Enough Akeno," Rias held up a hand to silence her friend. "Kiyome," said girl eeped. "I want to ask you why you decided to hide this from me? I thought we agreed to be open with each other."
Kiyome gulped and nervously chuckled, "Well I thought it wasn't worth your time. Theo's not a danger to anyone and his mom is actually pretty nice."
"A greek god brought her children to my territory without me knowing," Rias said with a narrow gaze, "And you knew this. Kiyome, do you know how serious this is? Me and Sona are in charge of this devil territory. I must know what's going on in it, especially because it suddenly involves the Fallen."
"I can assure you that it will be taken-"
"Do you think I'm an idiot?" Rias said, causing Kiyome to shut her lips tightly. "A lazy good for nothing Devil? No. The Greek pantheon is here and the Fallen are running around. Neither of them talked to me or Sona. They just waltzed in Kuoh without so much as a care. I don't know if you noticed, but we are in the middle of a Cold War. I need to know these things."
"W-Well you see-"
"We agreed to this," Rias said, "We even got it in writing. Do you want me to get it for you? You know, as a refresher."
Kiyome was sweating profusely at the moment, "W-Well…. I just wanted to wait till I had everything in place. I only learned about this yesterday myself."
Rias sighed, "Alright. I'll give you that if it's true. Just… Kiyome, I know you still have some fears about devils-"
"Who wouldn't?" Mittelt snarked as she interrupted Rias.
"I believe more people are afraid of flying rats then of us," Akeno chuckled, but there was no humor in it which made Theo and Kiyome shiver in fear. "You are just a bunch of deceitful blights on the world after all. Why, I shiver in fear of you stabbing me in the back in this instance."
"Can it, cow tits," Mittelt said, shaking a fist at her.
Dohnaseek put a hand on her shoulder, "Easy there. We don't want to rile them up more then we have to."
Mittelt huffed and crossed her arms. She scooted closer to Theo as she glared at Akeno. This just caused Akeno to smirk and wink at Theo, which made him blush. Mittelt's scowl got worse.
"Let's get back on track here," Rias said, giving a stern gaze to Akeno. "We have to settle things before they escalate. Thankfully, I presume Artemis will do no harm to this city."
Theo shook his head, "No. My mom's a perfectly nice person. She'd never hurt anyone."
"It is Artemis," Rias said, "She has a history of going overboard, especially with guys."
"Well," Theo scratched his chin nervously. "She promised not to do that anymore unless she thinks she has to."
"Fair enough," Rias nodded. "The Greek faction hasn't done anything against us in a long time. They don't stand to gain anything if conflict arose. So I will give you that. As for the Fallen, I need to know what you are planning."
"Oh we just wanted to kill a few teenagers," Mittelt easily said, "Nothing too big."
"Teenagers?" Rias quirked an eyebrow, "Kuoh students?" Mittelt nodded, "People under my protection?"
Mittelt nervously gulped. Rias's power was leaking out and causing everyone on that side to pull a little back. "W-Well we thought it wouldn't bother you so much. It's only a couple of teens. No-"
"I am Rias of the Gremory household," Rias cut her off, causing Mittelt to eep in fear. "I am in charge of this territory and the lives within it alongside Sona Sitri. So help me, I will not allow a single human to die if I can help it. So do not take this lightly. I won't."
Mittelt gulped, "Well we haven't killed anyone yet…"
Rias nodded, "That's good. Maybe we can come to an agreement of sorts. I want to do this without any bloodshed."
"Yes, no killing." KIyome eagerly nodded, "Great idea."
"Aww," Akeno pouted, "I really wanted to fry some black feathered beasts. It's so much fun to hear them squeal in agony."
"Watch your words, Devil." Dohnaseek scowled, "We aren't so weak to fall to a lusty teenager."
"I am THE lusty teenager, thank you very much." Akeno put a hand on her bountiful chest, "I don't pursue anything halfway. That includes cleaning up this place when people track dirt all over-"
"Enough Akeno," Rias said, "How about you go get us some tea."
"Of course," Akeno bowed and left.
Once Akeno was out of the room, Rias sighed. "Forgive her. She really doesn't like your kind."
"I noticed," Mittelt scowled, "Screw her."
"I would refrain from saying stuff like that about my best friend," Rias narrowed her eyes, "Now then. Let's go over our next step. Do you know who you planned to kill?"
"Theo," Mittelt patted his arm, "But I disobeyed that order. He's not worth killing."
"Thanks, I guess." Theo said, not sure how to take that.
"The other guy, I don't know." Mittelt shrugged, "Raynare never said his name. I just know she wasn't looking forward to it."
Rias tapped her chin, "Hmmm, if that's the case then I'll just have to suggest a patrol now and then. Me and Sona can switch up duties," then she eyed Kiyome. "Unless you can use a monster or two for this?"
Kiyome nodded, "Yeah, I can do that."
"Good," Rias nodded, "Anything else, Mittelt?"
"We've got a VIP coming in in a couple of weeks," Mittelt said, "An excommunicated nun."
"Excommunicated?" Rias said and hummed in thought, "Well this means we won't get in trouble with the church. However she is tied with the Grigori so there's nothing we can do for her."
"Well technically we aren't doing everything for the Grigori," Mittelt said, nervously sweating. "We wanted a bit of power so…"
"You're disobeying orders?" Rias smiled and snapped her fingers, "That's it. That means we can move without getting in trouble."
"Except for the fact that Raynare can deny everything if we go at her right now," Dohnaseek said, "Us two are pretty low on the totem pole. Azazel's a smart guy but he won't do anything unless we have proof. Us going to him and saying 'Raynare's evil' isn't much."
"So we'll just catch her in the act," Rias nodded, "We'll wait till this foreign nun arrives, follow, and swoop in before anything happens to her. I doubt she'll be able to say anything if both me and this nun see evidence of her treachery. I'll even bring a camera if need be."
"Could work," Dohnaseek said, "She might change things around. We've been gone too long. We're either dead or turned traitor. While we don't have 'proof', we have enough intel to mess up her plans badly."
"So we'll just have to outsmart her then," Rias grinned, "I can do that."
Akeno walked back into the room with a tray full of tea cups. She bent down, letting Rias take one. Rias gave her a friendly nod as she did so. Then she walked over to Theo. She bent down quite a bit, allowing him to see her tits jiggle not far from his face. He balked, blushing up a storm before he was yanked to the side by Mittelt.
"Succubus," Mittelt hissed.
"Why thank you," Akeno chuckled, "But I was just offering."
"I don't like tea," Theo said.
"That wasn't what I was offering~" Akeno teased, causing Theo to nearly faint from the blood rushing to his head.
"I like her," Kholkikos said, "She has the eyes of a predator. A woman who loves to push people around when she can and get under their skin. Boy, take her as your mate now."
'But I'll die!' Theo cried back in terror.
"Even better!"
Theo decided to try and ignore the dragon for the rest of the meeting. He didn't need this now.
"Could I have a cup?" Dohnaseek held up a hand.
"No," Akeno said as she sat down beside Rias, "Rias is a glutton. She loves to drink as much tea as an elephant so it's all for her and some for me."
Rias rubbed the bridge of her nose, "Akeno…"
"Well," Kiyome clapped with a big, forced smile to get everyone's attention. "So we have a plan and we know what we're going to do. How about we end this meeting, hmm?"
"We can for now," Rias nodded, "I'll convene with Sona should be talking to her right now for that. Thank you for coming."
Theo's eyes widened as he watched everyone stand up. That meant the meeting was over. He'd miss his chance. He knew Devils weren't just humans. They had to be more. They were wearing a disguise. He had to see the real versions.
"Hold up!" Theo shouted and stood up.
"Eh?" Nearly everyone present said.
Theo gulped, sweating as he tried to speak. He shook slightly, "W-Well… I-I wanted to see something before we went."
"What?" Rias asked.
"You're a Devil and…" Theo gulped, "I wanted to know if you have a true form."
"My my~" Akeno put a hand on her cheek, "He wants us to strip for him. Check us out. What a naughty boy."
"Wh-What?" Theo's face was as red as a tomato. He noticed that was happening a lot lately, "I just wanted to see if you looked like just humans or not."
"Well I can satisfy that level of curiosity," Rias said.
Theo felt so giddy inside. He was going to see it. Actual non-human women forms. Mittelt had great wings but he wanted to see more. Maybe they had cloven hooves. Colored skin like red or purple. Maybe horns. Ooooh, lovely large bat wings. Some fangs and slitted eyes. So many possibilities. He needed to draw it.
"You're going to be so disappointed," Kholkikos snickered.
'What?' Theo shook his head. No need to worry about that now. He scrambled about, "Paper. Pencil. Paper. Pencil."
"Here," Mittelt held up a small notebook and pen, "I know you like drawing stuff, so I brought this along."
Theo squeed and took it into his hands, smiling down at her. His handsome face spakled in MIttelt's vision, "You're the best."
Mittelt blushed, "Don't mention it."
Theo turned around, now at the ready. "Alright, do it."
Rias rolled her eyes as Akeno giggled. The moment seemed to last forever. Then suddenly it happened. They changed into….
They just popped out some black looking wings. Theo's stood frozen for a moment. His mind was processing it. Just some spindly, black wings. No feathers. He wasn't sure if they were scaly or was it just magic. It was interesting but…
"That's it?" He muttered, his heart felt like someone was crushing it.
Rias looked at him confused, "Well… yes. There's nothing really different between us and humans besides these wings in terms of appearance."
Theo's last shred of hope was gone.
Kholkikos was laughing like a madman in his head. He knew what was going to happen. He could read some of his host's thoughts after all and his mood. He just let it happen for his own amusement.
The notepad and pen fell from his grasp. He sat down on the couch, "No… It can't be true…. Devils are supposed to be different…"
"I'm sorry if it doesn't match up to your vision," Rias said, "But this is the truth. Most of those images are flatout wrong and kinda offensive-"
"LIES!" Theo shouted as he stood up, "There's nothing offensive about inhuman traits. In fact, they are a blessing. A beauty for all to see. Differences in skin color, body additions, or anything of the sort should be celebrated. The different kinds of creatures in this world should have their own beauty. Give me back those visions!"
Kiyome looked like she was going to have a heart attack, "Theo, shut up."
"Where's the pretty red skin and horns," Theo shouted, "Big, bat wings and hooves. Not even a tail! Just little black wings? That's barely anything. I might as well draw you without them!"
"I assure you that our wings are rather pretty," Rias looked rather offended.
"Maybe but look at Mittelt's wings," Theo's shouted as he gestured to Mittelt, who had spread her wings in panic a moment before. "Look at how expressive they are. How vibrant. How the feathers just highlight her pretty form."
Mittelt was a stuttering mess and was red as Theo was earlier.
"Why can't you have as pretty wings," Theo shouted, his anger getting the best of him.
Akeno's smile left her face, "Because you're being stupid. Our wings are prettier than a rats. Why don't I show you how good it feels and then you'll change your mind."
"No," Theo shouted and pointed at her wings, "You'd look perfect with a Fallen's wings. It'd make you look like a goddess and I'd draw you in a heartbeat-"
A bolt of lighting went past his ear. He stopped his ranting as fear took over.
'Oh…. I said all of that out loud,' Theo realized finally. His love of monster girls got the better of him once again. He looked into Akeno's furious gaze, 'I'm dead.'
"Yes and your death will be glorious," Kholkikos laughed.
"I would be ugly," Akeno snarled, "That's what I would be with a rat's wings. Now shut up and draw my wings if that's what you want. Just never say that again or I won't miss next time."
None on his side wanted to say anything. Mittelt, Kiyome and Theo were frozen in terror. Dohnaseek was one step away from intervening.
Rias sighed, "Akeno, stand down." Akeno didn't, "Theo, apologize."
Theo sniffed.
"Theo," Kiyome was looking right at Rias's face, "Just apologize and we can go."
"I don't want to die," Theo sniffed again.
"Don't you dare cry on me, boy." Kholkikos said, "You'll ruin my good mood."
"Sorry," Theo got on his hands and feet. "I'm sorry. I speak without thinking sometimes."
"He told me to kill him to spare myself," Mittelt quickly defended, "He's an idiot a lot of the time."
"I see," Akeno nodded and grinned, but it wasn't a pleasant one. "Don't worry. I'm not mad."
Theo hesitantly raised his head, "You aren't?"
"No," Akeno shook her head, "In fact, I'll let you draw my beautiful wings later. I'll even let you touch them. Privately."
"Hey," Mittelt shook her fist only to yelp as dive behind the couch as Akeno raised up a hand full of pulsating lightning.
"I insist~" AKeno purred.
"I'll… think about it." Theo said, just wanting the day to end.
"Marry her," Kholkikos said, "Marry her right now, you twit!"
'Shut up,' Theo said.
"So we're on good terms," Kiyome quickly grabbed Theo and started to head for the door, "Bye! See you later."
"Bye," Rias said before the door was shut. She sighed, "Well that happened."
"What an interesting demigod," Akeno said.
"Yes, he does speak his mind." Rias said, "Sort of like that one guy, Issei. So I don't hold anything against him. I sometimes wish I was an awesome devil like in one of my mangas. My heart goes out to him."
"You read too much of those," Akeno said.
"No I don't," Rias huffed, "Now please tell me you are going to forgive him as well."
"I will," Akeno said, her eyes glinting in mischief. "Once I get him to admit devil wings are better than filthy Fallen wings."
Rias rubbed her forehead, "Give me a break."
"I'm going to die," Theo muttered.
Mittelt looked up at him in concern. He had been muttering that for the last several minutes. They were thankfully in a spot where no one in school would see them. Seeing Theo sitting down and leaning against a tree in despair hurt her. She wouldn't admit it but it made her feather's ruffle in distress. She just sat by him, patting his shoulder.
'What should I do?' Mittelt thought to herself, 'I don't know what to say to someone in a state like this. Dohnaseek might have something to say but it's never very nice. Wait. Why should I care about saying anything nice to this idiot? He brought this on himself while complimenting my beautiful wings. Not to mention telling off those freaking devils. Ha. That was great. Maybe I should get him to see that too.'
"This is a travesty," Kiyome was also muttering as she paced, "We're dead. So very dead."
"Calm down," Dohnaseek huffed. "You've been pacing for five minutes now."
"Well in five minutes I haven't thought of a single thing to keep us alive," Kiyome said.
"Besides the fact that if they tried something," Dohnaseek said, "They'd have a pissed off Greek God barging in, arrows flying."
Kiyome stopped, "Oh yeah. I forgot about that."
"So I say we sit back at your place and wait for things to cool off," Dohnaseek said, "That Gremory girl seems like she has a good head on her shoulders so we're fine."
"She does," Kiyome nodded, "But she's still a Devil. We have to be careful. So please," she glared at Theo, "Don't open your mouth like that again."
"Hey," Mittelt glared back, "He panicked."
"I panicked but I didn't insult them," Kiyome said before Dohnaseek coughed, "Intentionally." She sighed, "Look. I don't mean to be rude but you've got to learn when to keep your mouth shut. You never know when someone will take your head off for a wrong word. Trust me. I know that from experience training non-humans."
"Right," Mittelt nodded. She knew about that quite well. 'Some of the other Fallen would have ripped me asunder if I said stuff like that about their wings.' She shivered in fear.
"Now let's go home," Kiyome said, stomping away. "I want to drop into bed and forget about today."
MIttelt grabbed Theo's arm, "Come on. We've got to go home."
Theo went still before he sighed. He looked back to the school, "Gotta finish the rest of the day. I'll meet you there later."
"You can skip one day of school," Mittelt said, "It's not going to hurt you."
"I know," Theo said, he shivered slightly. "And I know there are some scary people here but I came to this school for a reason. So I might as well stay."
Mittelt huffed, "Stupid. Just… take care. Maybe you can call in sick tomorrow or something."
"That sounds like a plan," Theo gave her a small smile, which made her heart beat a bit faster. She denied it did that though. He stood up and hugged her, "Thank you, Mittelt."
Mittelt felt like she was overheating, "I… I… You're welcome." She hugged back. Again, she wouldn't admit she did that. Nor how she felt so safe in his strong, muscular arms. Or how is torso was fit and she wanted to handle those muscles.
'I need a cold shower.'
"-So get her over here NOW!" Raynare shouted into the phone before she crushed it.
Crushing the phone was stupid but it made her feel better. She honestly hated using human means of communication. Magic orbs, letters, etc. Those were the best ways to communicate. Unfortunately, she was working with humans now. Low level humans at that. Which meant she had to use some other means to talk to them. It made her shiver.
"Well, well, well." A familiar and slimy voice spoke up, "Is miss stick stuck up her ass upset again? Why am I not shocked? I know a good way to fix that though~"
'Oh great. Just what I needed.'
Raynare looked up to see the familiar and deranged smile of Freed. Oh how she really hated him. He was too cocky and always spoke in disgusting slurs. If she didn't need him so badly, she'd have killed him already.
"Change of plans," Raynare said, "We're bringing the girl here now."
"Now?" Freed quirked an eyebrow, "You want to fuck with this girl now rather then later? I knew you couldn't wait to play with her. Snatch to snatch, it's gonna be fucking hot to watch."
Raynare snarled and summoned a light spear, "Shut up. Just post some of your goons at the airport. We can't leave anything to chance anymore."
"This is why you don't hire lolis and chumps," Freed said, "They don't do as good a job as real men. Say, why don't I get an early reward? A titjob for all my good work for you."
Raynare reeled her arm back, "You get to live. That's your reward."
"Geeze," Freed snorted before laughing, "The one with the bigger tits is more fun than you. Maybe I'll chat her up."
"Maybe she'll get you to do your damn job," Raynare growled, "Now get out of here."
"On it," Freed gave her a mock salute as he said that. He turned and left, "I'm just telling you. A good dicking will lift your spirits."
Raynare quickly sat down on a chair. She put her hands to her head, "Why did it have to go so fucking wrong."
'Do I just have the worst luck? Why can't anything just go right for me? Just for once in my damn life!'
It's been a while, hasn't it? Well I wanted to let you all know I haven't abandoned this story. I really want to continue writing for Theo and DxD because I really enjoy both. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and hopefully I can write more frequently. My job has really drained me this last year. So comments and thoughts are really appreciated.
Until next time, take care.
