Katara: Water, Soldier, Mechanist, God, Earth, Fire, Spy, Archer, Monster, Air

(One by one, eight figures do something to show off their skills: the Waterbender weaves a stream of water from the ground, around him and then thrusts it towards the side, the soldier blocks an attack with his shield before throwing it, the mechanist has armor envelope him and then uses the repulsor on his hand to blast something on the side, the god holds a powerful hammer high to summon a bolt of lightning, the Earthbender kicks the ground bringing up a large rock before he kicks it away, the Firebender twists around as she summons fire from her foot before doing a high kick to the ground and makes the flames spread, the spy drops down from above and displays a few moves, the archer rolls across the ground and fires a few arrows, and finally the monster comes down from a jump and smashes his huge fists on the ground, the Airbender drops down and then with a circle of his arms he creates a blast of wind.)

Katara: Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.

(Docked on a shore, five Fire Nation ships with the Hydra insignia released their soldiers. With a jump forward and a palm thrust, the firebenders released a wave of fire as the Hydra soldiers used their advanced technology.)

Katara: Only the Avatar, master of all four elements could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished.

(The Avatar, a man with a crown on his head and dressed in robes stands on a pillar of stone as he bent the four elements of water, earth, fire and air to show his skill in the arts of bending. After releasing a powerful disk of wind, he disappears from existence.)

Katara: A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar: an Airbender named Aang and met the team called the Avengers.

(The water tribe siblings find a young Airbender frozen in block of ice. After freeing him, they are then joined by heroes called Captain America, Ironman, Thor, Hulk, Clint, and Natasha.)

Katara: And although with the teams help and his airbending skills are great, hehas a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone.

(At an Air Nomad path, Aang creates an air scooter and starts to have fun with it. But when he expands his circle a little bit, he runs right into a statue. He rolls over onto his back as all six of the Avengers then poke their heads from behind the statue to check on him.)

Katara: But I believe the Avengers and Aang can save the world.

(Aang, Steve, Katara, Tony, Thor, Bruce, Sokka, Clint, Toph and Natasha stand side by side, looking down at the world on a mountain's peak for a moment as the reader's view is turned upwards to the sun.)

Avatar Roku: Previously, on Avenging Avatar…

A Fire Nation soldier walked up to them with a messenger hawk on their shoulder. Removing a small scroll from the bird's pouch, he handed it to the princess. Azula quickly read it before saying, "As much as I wish to continue the hunt, Zola has our latest weapon to win the war ready. He wants us to meet up with him."

"My name's Jet." The leader of the Freedom Fighter's introduced to Tony, Zuko and Iroh.

Later that night, after taking some food from the kitchen, Jet sat before the group and said, "I've done some things in my life that I'm not proud of. But that's why I'm going to Ba Sing Se, to make a fresh start."

"I can't believe how many people's lives have been uprooted by the Fire Nation and Hydra." Katara said when she saw all the refugees. Than then said, "We're all looking for a better life behind the walls of Ba Sing Se."

"So why are you guys taking the ferry to Ba Sing Se?" Suki asked after meeting her again. Katara sorrowfully looked to her and said, "Appa is missing. We hope to find him in Ba Sing Se."

"I'm thinking of going with Suki." Natasha said after making it across the Serpent's Pass and helping Ying deliver her baby. The majority of the group watched them go.

Rhodey looked to Jet and said, "Something's been on your mind since we met up with Tony and his friends."

"Kind of." Jet nodded. But he smiled when he said, "But I think it's more of that those guys might actually be help to our cause."

"You want to recruit them?" Peter asked as he walked behind the older teen. Jet nodded as they continued toward the city.

Aang flew along the height of the wall of Ba Sing Se. When he landed and saw Momo on his shoulder, they looked back and became shocked when they saw a large drill made by the Fire Nation and Hydra making its way to the wall. Aang looked to the lemur and said, "Sorry, Momo. But Appa's going to have to wait."

Book Two: Earth

Chapter Fourteen: The Super Drill

The earth was shaking and rumbled as a multitude of engines whirred from the many Fire Nation vehicles that moved across the barren landscape. The high-pitched whirring from the machines started to accelerate the closer the tanks and the massive drill came to the wall of Ba Sing Se. It was a bit of a slow process as the giant drill moved in sections of itself. Spouts released clouds of steam when the rest of the machine came up behind the rest and the moving parts creaked when they moved forward. And as it moved forward across the ground, large stabilizers would jab down into the earth before retracting back in when the machine moved. As it continued to move like an inchworm towards the wall, a tall observatory tower raised itself up.

Inside the tower, Princess Azula, Mai, Ty Lee, Abomination, Crossbones, Scarlet Widow and the Destroyer Armor were all assembled. The four stood on both sides of the thrones while Mai, Azula and Ty Lee occupied the seats. Two figures walked up the group. One of them was the robotic body of Arnim Zola while the other was the man from the Northern Air Temple. Zola bowed before the princess and said, "All is ready, your Highness."

"Yes, this drill is a grand feat of scientific ingenuity and raw, destructive power." The War Minister praised the machine. He relayed the plan by saying, "Once it completely tunnels through the wall, our combined troops will storm into the city.

"The Earth Kingdom will finally fall to us, and you can claim the city of Ba Sing Se in the name of your father." He finished when he turned back to the princess. Looking to Zola he said, "Thanks to the in put of Dr. Zola, nothing will be able to stop the drill."

"Hmm, what about those big muscley guys down out there between us and the wall?" Ty Lee asked when she looked through the periscope. They all looked to her as she looked through it again. She could see a number of Earth Kingdom soldiers joining together in trenches before waiting to make their move. Rumlow moved next to her and said, "Mind if I…"

"Not at all." Ty Lee said before leaning back. Rumlow raised up the periscope a little and assessed the situation. Not taking his eyes from the periscope he said, "Judging from the number of trenches and soldiers in said trenches, we're liable to met with a pretty large force of Earthbenders."

"Unfortunately for them, it will not be enough in their favor." Zola said about their odds. Even the War Minister scoffed when he said, "Please." He banged his fist against the periscope when he said, "The drill's metal shell will be able to withstand every earthbending attack."

Both Rumlow and Ty Lee glared at him for that. But they calmed down when Azula said, "Oh, I'm quite sure that it is, War Minister Ching.

"You and Zola have managed to complete the drill a great deal ahead of schedule." Azula complimented their work. But she decided it was better to be safe than sorry when she became serious when she said, "But just to be on the safe side…

"Mai, Ty Lee, Abomination and the Destroyer, take the Earthbenders out." She ordered the four. Mai, who had been sitting beside the princess in a sulking mood and twirling her knife around, sighed when she said, "Finally something to do."

She and Ty Lee got up from their seats and headed for the door with Abomination and the Destroyer Armor following after them. Princess Azula and the others watched them go with the princess having a slight glare on her face.

Not too far from the drill, the majority of Team Avenging Avatar was nearing the base of the wall. While some were a little down that Suki and Natasha had left, others were somewhat curious to how Aang was faring. While he walked beside of her, Clint could see that Toph kept her head turned to the left and asked, "Everything okay, kid?"

"I'm not sure." Toph said, unsure of what she was feeling. They looked to her when she pointed and explained, "It feels like there's something really big that way."

"Well, he might know something." Bruce said when he pointed to something in the direction of the wall. Everyone looked to see two shapes flying through the air. When they came closer, they could hear Momo's chittering. Aang spun his staff over his head as he descended down to his friends. They were greatly confused when Katara asked him, "Aang, what are you doing back here?"

"We thought that you went to search for Appa." Thor said of Aang's mission. Even Bruce added by saying, "I don't think you were even gone for an hour."

"I was. But something stopped me." Aang explained. He looked down when he remembered what he had seen. He returned his gaze to them when he added, "Something really big."

"How big?" Steve asked, fearing that it wasn't anything good. With a gesture of his head towards the not so far away wall, Aang said, "I'll show you."

"Then let's hurry." Clint said and they all quickly made their way to the wall. As they quickly walked, Aang looked to Katara and Steve and said, "Seems like I missed a good bit while I was gone."

"We'll explain on the way." Steve promised as they kept walking.

After a lengthy discussion and a walk later, they reached the base of the wall. Everyone stood in the middle of Aang and Toph as they began to use their earthbending to raise a slab of Earth up the wall. With a downward motion of their arms, the bit of Earth rose alongside the wall. As they started the climb, Sokka looked to Aang and asked, "Now what's so important that Appa has to wait?"

"I'm guessing it would be that." Bruce said and he pointed to the drill a good distance from them and the wall. They all looked at the drill in wonder and horror as it moved across the land. When they reached the top, the team helped the family down and looked back to the drill. A distressed Ying held her child close when she said, "We finally made it to Ba Sing Se." She looked to her husband and said, "And we're still not safe. No one is."

"Not if we have anything to say about it." Steve countered with a bit of hope. They were a bit startled when they heard someone say behind them, "What are all you people doing up here?

"Civilians aren't-" An Earth Kingdom guard said and walked up to him. But Steve stopped him when he said, "Son, just don't."

"Uh…" The guard didn't know what to say. Aang stepped forward and said, "I'm the Avatar. And I'm with the Avengers. Please take us to whomever is in charge here."

"And if it's not too much trouble." Clint said when he gestured to the family, "Please help them get into the city. They've had a long journey."

"Of course." One of the soldiers said, having calmed down when they saw the Avatar and the Avengers. While one soldier led Than and his family away, another led the group to the person leading them.

They came to a more shaded area of the wall. Inside the room, a man in a general's uniform was sitting at a desk with a guard on both sides of him. The guard introduced the group. The general bowed his head in respect and said, "It is an honor to welcome you to the outer wall, young Avatar and noble Avengers.

"And how nice it is to see you again, Master Barton." He nodded his head to Clint. Clint nodded back and the general introduced himself, "I am General Sung.

"And I can safely assure you…" He started to say. The group was on the edge of their seats when he said, "That your help is not needed."

"Not needed?" Everyone questioned as it sounded ludicrous to them. General Sung nodded his head when he repeated, "Not needed."

"Okay, Sung, I know that you're a very capable general, but-" Clint started to say. He was cut off when General Sung stood up and calmly said, "Worry not, I have the situation under complete control.

"I assure you all, that the Fire Nation and Hydra cannot penetrate this wall." He said when he led them back outside. He sounded very confident when he said, "Many have tried to break through it but none have succeeded."

"What about the Dragon of the West?" Toph asked, remembering her history lessons. General Sung's eyes widened in embarrassment at the mention of that name while Toph argued, "He was able to get in."

"And after witnessing the still destroyed section of the wall for myself, I'd say that the Fire Nation could try again. Especially with their new buddies." Clint added as he and Toph crossed their arms to see what the general would say. General Sung stuttered for a moment, "W-Well, uh, technically, yes he did…" He turned to them and then reminded, "But then he was quickly expunged before he and his troops could get too far."

This only made the group look to each other with questioning looks as he cleared his throat. He continued by saying, "Nevertheless, that's why the city is named Ba Sing Se. It's the impenetrable city.

"They don't go calling it Na Sing Se." He added and laughed a little. But then adopted a bored look when he said, "That means penetrable city."

"Okay, thanks for the little lesson and the tour." Toph sarcastically said. She then reminded as he walked past them to the rim of the wall, "But we still have a giant drill problem heading our way."

"Not for long." Sung argued with them and went over to a telescope mounted on the wall. While the group was a little confused on how he was handling the situation he explained, "I plan to stop it by sending in an elite platoon of Earthbenders known as the Terra Team."

"The Terra Team?" Clint asked and walked up to Sung. The general didn't face him when he said, "Those guys are pretty useful during a head-to-head siege, but not in a situation like this."

"But they do have a good group name." Sokka said, liking the sound of it. That earned him some looks from the rest of the group. He scratched his chin when he said, "Very catchy." Then he added with a shrug, "But not as very inspiring as the Avengers."

That part surprised the others a little. Steve then said, "Look, we need to focus on the problem at hand."

"If you don't believe me, then come and see for yourself." General Sung said and gestured for them to come to the edge of the wall.

\_|_/

Down below on the ground, the Terra Team began their assault on the drill and tanks by rushing forward. They moved into formation with those in front raising their arms at the tanks. Large bits of earth rose up from underneath the tanks and sent them flying through the air. While maybe one or two landed on their sides, unable to move, the others landed upside down on their treads. The cabin of the tanks quickly turned back upright before continuing forward. The Earthbenders then tried a different tactic by raising their arms before lowering them again. It turned the ground before the tanks unstable. When the tanks came over the unstable land they ended up crashing through the unstable ground. The Earthbenders quickly made use of this by rushing forward on large slabs of Earth towards the drill. When they were beside the drill, all the Earthbenders raised pillars of earth from the ground to try and stop it from moving forward. But it didn't work as the pillars broke when the drill moved forward. The leader of one of the squads shouted, "Don't give up, men! For Ba Sing Se!"

"For Ba Sing Se!" They shouted as they were behind their commander.

\_|_/

From on the wall, General Sung looked back to the team and said, "See, even though they are experiencing difficulties, my Terra Team is still fighting for the city."

"I wouldn't be leaving them out there for too much longer." Bruce said when he saw something moving on the drill. He pointed and everyone looked to see about four shapes head down the massive structure.

\_|_/

Back at the drill, they had tried the pillar trick again but it ended up with the same results. They braced themselves from the large falling rocks. But when they looked up again, the leader of the group shouted, "Look out!"

With an upward movement of their arms, they raised a large rock to protect themselves from a multitude of daggers coming at them. One of them looked around the rock and saw Mai and Ty Lee sliding down the side of the drill. From the look on Mai's face, she thought that she would enjoy this. Ty Lee was the first to reach the ground and one of the Earthbenders stomped his foot to send a wave of Earth at her. But Ty Lee was able to jump high over the attack and land next to one of the Earthbenders. The man tried to defend himself by launching a rock or two at her, but the acrobat was able to maneuver out of the way before coming around and landing a few blocks to his back. The man fell to the ground with a groan but gasped when she saw multiple Earthbenders raise large rocks from the ground. But before they could launch them forward, a large fiery blast knocked all of them back. They yelled as they flew through the air before landing on the ground.

They all looked up to see a large silver being and a green hulking monster leap down from the drill. They landed between Ty Lee and the Earthbenders with a loud boom. Mai reached the ground and ran to check on Ty Lee. Abomination gave a dark chuckle while cracking his knuckles. The Destroyer walked forward and unleashed another blast of fiery at the Earthbenders. The defenders of the wall quickly moved out of the way to avoid being roasted alive by the attack. They divided into three groups and that's when Mai, Ty Lee and Abomination made their move. Ty Lee leapt again before delivering a series of blows to each Earthbender and knocking them down. Mai used her blades to slice the arms and legs of her opponents. Abomination smashed his way through their earth made defenses before getting his hands on the soldiers. Both Mai and Ty Lee winched from the wailing and death that came from Abomination's opponents. Glancing to her more jolly friend Mai said, "That's really dark. Even for me."

"Mm-hmm." Ty Lee nodded in agreement.

From on top of the wall, General Sung looked up from the telescope afterign watching his elite Earthbenders had been taken out. He raised his arms and dramatically shouted, "We're all doomed."

Sokka grabbed the general by the shirt before slapping some sense back into him. Then he shouted at him, "Get ahold of yourself, man!"

"You're right. I'm sorry." General Sung said while rubbing his sore cheek. Most of everyone were greatly surprised from Sokka's actions, but were impressed that it worked. Toph then suggested, "Maybe now you'd like the Avatar and Avengers help?'

General Sung looked to everyone and huffed as he knew that they were right. Looking to them he hung his head and said, "Yes, please."

"We'll be glad to help." Steve nodded and they all looked down at the drill. They saw that the tanks had been freed and were once again in formation with the drill. Aang then asked, "So the question right now is, how are we going to stop that thing?"

Everyone but Toph all turned to Sokka and Steve who immediately took notice. He looked to them and asked, "Why are most of you looking at us?"

"Well, you're mostly the idea guys." Aang pointed out. Sokka seemed a little ticked off about that and said, "So we're the only ones who can ever come up with a plan?

"I mean, I know that Steve's done it a lot, but that's still a lot of pressure." Sokka complained. He was a little surprised when Katara made a point of her own, "And you're also the complaining guy."

"That part I don't really mind." Sokka said, feeling it fit his character description. Steve then said, "Okay, let's see get an idea of what we're facing and go from there."

"We should wait for the survivors to get back and see what they know." Bruce suggested and the group nodded in agreement. They looked down at the drill as it came closer.

\_|_/

At another part of the wall where the ferries docked, a certain boat had pulled into port. While some of the ferrymen were a little baffled by the lack of food in the kitchen, the groups had departed from the vessel and gone to another check-in station. In one line at the front in front of another stern looking woman, Tony, Zuko and Iroh were all watching her look over their passports. While glancing between them and the papers she said, "So, Mr. Lee, Mr. Krats and um, Mushy, is it?"

"It's pronounced Mushi, actually." Iroh politely clarified. But it seems that the old woman didn't like being criticized about her work when she set the papers down and angrily questioned, "Are you trying to tell me how to do my job?"

"Uh, no, no." Iroh shook his head and walked up to the counter. He used his charms to calm her down by saying, "But may I just say that, you are like a flower in bloom. And your beauty is intoxicating."

"Hm," The woman said, clearly flattered by Iroh's words. She winked at him and said, "I must say that you're pretty easy on the eyes yourself, handsome." She made a paw like motion with her hand when she meowed, "Rowr."

She and Iroh chuckled from this. The woman picked up a stamp and said, "Welcome to Ba Sing Se, boys."

She stamped all three papers for them and Iroh took them from the counter. He walked away with a smile back to Tony and Zuko who had weirded out faces. Zuko just snatched his ticket from Iroh and commented, "I'm gonna forget that I ever saw that."

"Nice job getting us in nonetheless." Tony said before taking his own ticket. The three then made their way through the doorway to the train station that would take them into the city.

From behind the trio, Jet, the Freedom Fighters and the Rescue Team were waiting in the same line. They watched the trio disappear into the next room. Jet glanced back to them and said, "I think that Lee and Tony would make pretty good Freedom Fighters. Especially since one of them's an Avenger already. They're just trying to find their way into the world."

"You don't know anything about him, Jet." Smellerbee countered with a good point. Then gesturing to the Rescue Team with her head she added, "And we only know about Tony from them."

"She does have a point." Logan agreed with her. Jet shrugged and removed the piece of grass from his mouth when he said, "Well, I do know that he didn't get that nasty scar from a Waterbender."

"What about boiling water?" Wade asked from the back, making everyone roll their eyes. Smellerbee then reminded, "And besides, I thought we were going to make a fresh start by going straight now. And we promised to help find the other Avengers with the Avatar."

"And we will." Jet nodded in agreement to that. Then he voiced his thoughts by saying, "And I think that the new Freedom Fighters could use people like Lee and Tony on our side."

"Well, we'll just have to wait and see what they say." Sam shrugged, thinking that would be for the best. Rhodey was in agreement when he said, "They may not even want to join."

"What's your thoughts about them, Longshot?" Eddie said and looked to the archer. The only answer Longshot gave them was a shrug of the shoulders.

"Well, we'll just have to wait and see." Jet agreed with them. They moved forward when the line started moving a little.

\_|_/

Back on the portion of the wall where the drill was headed, the team moved to a medical room when the Terra Team had been recovered. The survivors were laid out on beds with their shirts and hats removed. Katara was helping out with her healing abilities on one of the soldiers as a confused General Sung asked, "What's wrong with him?

"He doesn't look injured like some of them." He observed. The man on the bed groaned and Katara found the problem, "His chi has been blocked."

"I think I'm getting a feeling about what happened." Sokka said, thinking of one who could do this. The man moved his arm when Katara stopped the treatment. She then asked the soldier, "Who did this to you all?"

"We were ambushed by four individuals." He reported. Then he described them by saying, "One of them was a young girl and she hit me and a few others with a bunch of quick jabs, and then suddenly I fell to the ground and I couldn't earthbend hardly move either.

"And then she cartwheeled away." He finished his description and everyone on the team's eyes widened. Katara looked away when she said, "Ty Lee.

"She doesn't look very dangerous but she knows about the human body and its weak points…" She explained to the general. Steve then asked him, "And the other three?"

"The other was another young woman who threw a bunch of knives." He described the others. Everyone's eyes widened with shock when he added, "The third was a large hulking monster. He practically slaughtered any who came in contact with him.

"And the last one was like a giant metal suit that shot fire from his face." He finished. The team stepped away and started talking amongst themselves. Steve looked about the group and said, "No doubt that if Abomination and the Destroyer are working with Mai and Ty Lee…"

"Then the rest of their entourage and Azula are with them too." Clint finished, not liking the situation. Aang sighed, "It just adds more to the problem."

"Though I'm surprised that they did not just enforce the Destroyer to try and break the wall." Thor said, feeling that it would have been enough in that scenario. The group looked to him with deadpanned looks and he gave an apologetic look, "Sorry."

"And the Destroyer is supposed to be tough, right?" Sokka asked and Thor nodded. Katara looked to the window that looked down at the drill and said, "Too bad there isn't a way to take both it and the Super Drill down from the outside."

"Nah, that's more of an inside job." Clint said, sparking an idea in Sokka. Then he pointed between the two like an excited child and said, "Oh! Oh! Oh!"

"Yes, Sokka." Bruce said, placing a hand on the teen's shoulder to calm him down. Sokka then looked between his friends when he said, "What you guys just said. An inside job.

"That's how we're gonna take down the drill." He explained his idea when he ran to the window. They joined him and he said, "The same way that Ty Lee had brought down all of these big Earthbenders."

"By hitting its pressure points." Toph guessed, feeling pumped about this idea. Sokka nodded and Steve commended, "That's a pretty good plan." Looking to the group he said, "But we'll need to plan this smart if we're going pull this off."

"Then let's get cracking on how to take this thing down from the inside." Aang said when they all looked down to the drill again.

Thirty minutes later…

After half an hour of thinking, the team, Sung and some of his men all stood around a table. One the table was a small display of the wall and the drill. Steve then explained the plan, "After talking amongst ourselves, we've come up with a pretty decent plan on stopping the drill.

"First, a small squad of Earthbenders and us will go down to the trenches." He added. Sokka took over by saying, "While our group goes inside to take down the drill, the team of Earthbenders still willing to fight are gonna draw out their forces."

"Uh-" An Earth Kingdom soldier or two said with nervous looks. But Bruce shook his head when he said, "But we're not asking you to take them head on. We just need you to distract them for as long as you can."

"Try to keep your distance from all of them." Clint advised. Then looking to Sung he asked, "Think that you could provide some cover fire from up here?"

"I think that we can arrange something like that." Sung said while stroking his chin. Steve then looked to the Earthbenders and said, "I know that going up against these guys isn't something you're really trained for. And none of us will hold it against you if you don't come.

"But you need to remember that you're the only things that can prevent the Fire Nation and Hydra from claiming victory by breaching the wall." He added. The Earthbenders looked to each other. They were in agreement when they nodded. Looking back to the team he said, "We're behind you every step of the way, sir."

"Thank you." Aang said with a nod of his head. The general then ordered, "Okay everyone, let's move out."

Not too long after that, the team and the earthbending squad were all on the ground. They kept low in the trenches and looked about for any signs of the enemy. Toph turned to the others and said, "Once me and them whip up some cover, you're not gonna be able to see anything, so stay close to me.

"Make sure to make it a big smokescreen, guys." She said to her fellow Earthbenders and they nodded in agreement. Toph and the Earthbenders quickly jumped out of the trench and landed in a line. Then they all raised their arms and their hands started shaking just as the ground in front of them started rumbling. When they raised their shaking arms into the air, they all jumped forward and created a large dust cloud that spread all the way towards the drill and covered the front half in the cloud. One of the Earthbenders looked to the group in the trench and said, "Cover's up! Get moving!"

"Run!" Toph shouted as they climbed out and followed her into the large dust cloud. They all disappeared while the Earthbenders got to work. They all jumped up again to create a massive Earth wall between the drill and the Outer Wall of Ba Sing Se. They made sure to make it thick enough to where it would take the drill a while to get through.

\_|_/

Up in the observation tower, Ty Lee was once again looking through the periscope. She noticed something and said, "Hey, look at that large dust cloud. It's so… poofy."

Everyone started to feel the effects of the Earthbender's actions when the entire drill started shaking. Ty Lee looked through the periscope and said, "They're forming a large wall in front of us!"

"Can we drill through it, Doc?" Rumlow asked Zola when everything stopped shaking. Zola looked through the periscope and said, "We can, but the drill only has enough water for the wall. Not enough for two."

"How long would it take for the Destroyer to blast through it and Abomination to punch his way through?" Azula questioned, feeling that something was up. Zola quickly ran the numbers before saying, "The Destroyer would be able to blast the obstacle much quicker before Blonsky could smash it."

"Then I want the Destroyer on top the observation tower to work the magic." Azula ordered and the large automaton nodded. Then she added, "Rumlow, you and Blonsky go check around for the Earth Kingdom resistance responsible.

"And the rest are to go down and keep an eye out." She said to the rest of the Hydra team. They all nodded before moving out to complete their assignments. War Minister Ching turned to Azula and assured her by saying, "Do not worry, Princess, I'm sure that it's a futile attempt by the Earth Kingdom soldiers."

But Azula just casted her glance back out the window to the large dust cloud and the wall in their path.

\_|_/

Up on the observation tower, the Destroyer climbed onto the roof. It turned towards the wall and opened up its face mask. The inside of the Destroyer lit up before it unleashed its fiery blast on the wall. Large chunks of the wall were immediately blown off as the Destroyers attack drilled through.

\_|_/

Down below in the dust cloud the team continued to run. Toph took the lead while the rest followed close behind her. They were close to the drill when Toph stopped and held up her hand. They all stopped around her and she said, "We're not alone down here. I can feel Abomination and his giant stomping feet."

"We can't be seen by him or any of the other Hydra agents." Clint said, knowing that their plan would fail if they were. Looking to the others he said, "Looks like we may have to get crafty."

"I couldn't agree more, Clint." Toph said with a grin. With a slight motion of her hands, Toph created a hole that went deep into the ground. As the last of the stones fell away, Toph shouted, "Everyone down into the hole!"

Aang with Momo and Sokka were the first to go down followed by Katara. Then Steve, Bruce and Thor were next to follow. Clint went in before Toph who followed in right after him. When everyone was in the hole, Toph brought her arms together to cover up their tracks. Down below in a pitch-black tunnel made by Toph, Sokka's comment echoed, "It's so dark down here. I can't see a thing."

"Oh, no. What a nightmare" Toph sarcastically gasped. Sokka, realizing what he just said, said in Toph's direction, "Sorry."

"Let's keep moving people." Steve said and Toph created another opening underneath the drill. Everyone filled out of the hole and found themselves under the massive structure. Bruce pointed upward and said, "I think we just found our way in."

They all looked to see an opening in the drill. Steve gestured for them all to follow, "Come on. Let's get inside."

Both he and Aang ran forward while a chittering Momo flew in. The super soldier and the Airbender were able to reach an outstretched pipe in a single jump. They moved to where they were hanging upside down and hoisted Clint, Sokka and Katara inside the machine. They both waited for Thor, Bruce and Toph, but the Earthbender wasn't moving an inch. Sokka stuck his head upside down out of the drill and said, "Guys, come on!"

"No way am I going inside that giant metal monster." Toph argued when she pointed to the structure above her. Then she pointed out, "I won't be able to bend in there.

"I'll try to slow it down from out here." She offered them. Steve nodded and said, "Okay, but try to be discreet and if you feel Abomination or any others from the drill come out, be smart, okay."

"Got it." Toph nodded. Bruce then said, "And I'll stay with her. Just in case she needs some backup."

"Fine by me." Toph said, not minding the company. Aang looked to the Asgardian and asked, "Thor?"

"The Destroyer is my enemy. So I will accompany you inside." Thor nodded before jumping into the drill after the group. Sokka then offered Bruce and Toph, "Good luck, you two."

"You guys as well." Bruce nodded before the rest of the group disappeared inside the drill. Toph assumed her stance and said, "Keep a look out. Hopefully I can slow it down."

"Right." Bruce said and moved to where he could keep an eye on things from underneath the drill. Toph then slid her left leg before raising it and both her arms to create a slab of earth that rose to the underside of the drill. Toph groaned as she used all her strength to try and keep the drill from going forward, but it was a tough match as the drill was pretty heavy and continued to move forward.

Outside of the drill, the Earthbenders that had raised the wall looked up when they heard a loud roar coming from the drill. They gasped in horror when they saw not only Abomination, but Crossbones as well when they jumped from the top of the drill. The two Hydra agents ran forward with a yell while the Earthbenders assumed a defensive stance and waited for the right moment. Abomination leapt again at them and the Earthbenders used their bending to jump away from the monstrous creature. The Gamma Monster landed with a boom and looked around for his targets. He growled when they landed a few yards from him and charged forward again.

Rumlow came across his own opponents when one or two Earthbenders came on either side of him. Behind his mask, Crossbones narrowed his eyes when he challenged, "You punks think you got what it takes to fight me?!"

The Earthbenders behind the Hydra agent responded to this by stomping his foot and lashing out both arms to send out a wave of earth. Rumlow quickly moved out of the way and the attack headed straight for the other Earthbender. Had it been anyone else, they would have been in trouble, but since the second Earthbender knew of the attack, he threw his head forward and caused a pretty big dust cloud to engulf all three of them.

Rumlow growled in irritation as he looked about for his foes. He lashed out a fist when he thought he saw someone and found himself punching the air. One of the Earthbenders threw a small rock in his direction and it hit him in the shoulder. Rumlow groaned in pain from the rock and turned to where the rock had come from and shouted, "Come on and face me like a man!"

It was met by another rock to the back and he turned to look for the soldiers.

Inside the drill, the team was moving around discreetly through a hall way. They came to an empty room and Sokka looked about. Then he said, "I need a plan of this machine, some schematics that will show us what the inside of this thing looks like. Then we can go and find its weak points."

"Too bad Tony's not here." Clint said, wishing that they had the inventor at the moment. Steve then said, "Yeah, he could probably figure this thing out in a heartbeat."

"We'll need to figure out some way of acquiring the plans." Thor said, and it gave Sokka another idea. He took out his machete and knocked a valve off of a pipe that released a large cloud of steam. Aang looked to his friend and questioned, "What are you doing?

"Someone's going to hear us!" They nervously looked around. But then Clint had an idea of what Sokka was doing and said, "Actually, I think he's on the right track."

"He is?" Thor, Katara and Aang asked. Steve figured it out too and said, "He is. This may have been engineered with the help of Hydra, but it's still got bits and pieces that need maintenance."

"And I figured that a machine this big would need someone to keep it running." Sokka nodded his plan. His smirk grew bigger when he added, "And when something breaks around here…"

"They'll come around to fix it." Katara finished, fully getting the idea. They all grinned and Steve said, "We need to lay low until someone comes."

The sound of a door opening not too far from their location put them on edge. They all moved to where they could hide and waited for the right moment. In the cloud of steam, they saw a Fire Nation engineer walking towards the broken valve. Th man was practically shirtless save for a shoulder guard and had a mask on his face. In one hand was a scroll and a wrench in the other while tied to his side was a bag full of other scrolls. Steve tapped Katara's shoulder and she nodded for what he wanted her to do. She stepped out behind the engineer and he turned with a gasp. She quickly waved her arms around and turned the steam cool before using it to freeze the engineer in place with a, "Hi."

The man was shivering within his frozen state and the others came out of hiding. Sokka ran up and took the scroll in the man's frozen hand and was grateful when he ran back, "This'll work nicely, thanks."

The man's only response was his wrench falling from his grip and clattering to the floor. Everyone moved to another part of the drill and came upon another empty room. Sokka moved over to a large pipe and placed the unfrozen scroll down. He looked it over as they joined him and said, "It looks like the drill is made up of two main structures." He pointed to a spot in the middle and said, "There's the inner mechanism, which is where we are now.

"And the outer shell." He added when he pointed to the furthest part of the schematics. Then pointing between the two he said, "And the inner and outer parts are connected by these braces."

"Judging by how big this machine is, there must be hundreds of them." Clint said when he looked over the plans. Sokka then asked, "You think if we cut through a good deal of them we can shut this thing down?"

"It is a possibility. The weight would become so great that it would make the entire drill collapse." Clint nodded when he thought about it. Steve then said, "Then that's what we'll target."

"Then what are we waiting for." Aang said and they all started running to get started.

Back in the train station, Zuko, Iroh and Tony were all waiting in a seat surrounding a column. While Iroh and Tony seemed to be alright with waiting, Zuko seemed to have a sour look on his face. Tony looked to the teen and asked, "What's with the face?"

"Shut up." Zuko responded, not wanting to talk about it. Tony just shrugged before they noticed Jet walking over to them. He sat next to Zuko and asked, "So, you guys got plans for once your inside the city?"

"Get your hot tea over here!" A voice shouted and they all turned to see a cart with tea rolling through. Manning the cart was an old man with a small mustache and orange tinted glasses. The man looked about and shouted, "Come and have a cup of the finest tea in Ba Sing Se!"

"Oh, a cup of jasmine, please." Iroh requested when he raised and waved his hand. The old man came and handed him a cup. Then he took out a teapot and poured a little into the cup. Iroh nodded his appreciation and the man walked away. Iroh smiled and took a sip of the cup. But he came to regret it when he gagged from how could it was and did a spit take. He glared at his cup and said, "Coldest tea in Ba Sing Se is much more like it." He looked after the man and said, "What a disgrace."

"Oh, is the tea not to your liking sir?" The man manning the cart asked and turned back to Iroh. He walked over and handed him a piece of paper and said, "The tea is from a shop in the city. Here's a coupon for a fifty percent discount for your next visit."

"Uh, thank you." Iroh said and the man walked away. Jet then looked to Tony and Zuko and asked, "Hey, can I talk to you guys for a second?"

He got up and walked a few feet away. Tony and Zuko looked to each other before shrugging and getting up. They walked over and joined Jet who was also joined by Sam and Rhodey. Jet looked to the two and said, "I think we have a much better chance of making it in the city if we stick together.

"We can wait for the rest of your friends while we wait." He said to Tony, and it surprised Zuko a little. Jet then offered, "You guys want to join up with us?"

While they were talking, Iroh looked about to see if anyone was looking. He knew that it would be risky move, but he wanted some good tea after traveling. He bent over and kept an eye out as he placed one hand under the cup and heated up his hand a little.

"Thanks for the offer." Zuko nodded. But he declined when he said, "But I don't think you want me in your gang."

"Come on." Jet urged, not wanting to let such good men go. Then he reminded, "I think we all made such a great team looting that captain's food from the kitchen. Just think of all the good that we could do for all of these refugees."

"I said no thank you." Zuko said, sticking with his decision. Jet looked to Tony and asked, "And what about you?"

"I'm actually thinking of sticking with Lee and Mushi." Tony said, sticking to the fake names to not give them away. Rhodey asked, "Really, Tony?"

"Yeah, I feel like they need me." Tony nodded and he and Zuko walked back to Iroh. Jet sighed and said, "Suit yourselves."

While Sam and Rhodey both started walking off, Jet looked past them to Iroh. He was surprised to see that Iroh was now enjoying the tea even though he complained about it less than a minute ago. Jet then noticed steam coming from the cup and wondered how that had happened. His eyes widened when he put two and two together. Jet realized that Iroh and maybe even Zuko were Firebenders.

Tony and Zuko reached a smiling Iroh and the scarred Firebender happened to look back. He noticed Jet's glare, though he calmed down and walked away, before looking back to his uncle. Both Tony and Zuko realized what Iroh had done and Zuko smacked the cup out of Iroh's hands. Iroh looked to his nephew with a, "Hey!"

"What are you doing firebending your tea?!" Zuko questioned through gritted teeth. Then he said with a glare, "For a wise old man, that was a pretty stupid move."

"And after all the trouble of getting here, you're gonna get us arrested." Tony added while remembering to keep his voice down. Iroh looked like he was on the verge of crying when he said, "I know that you're not supposed to cry over spilled tea, but…" He sniffled when he added, "It's just so sad."

"Toughen up, man." Tony sighed with an annoyed look.

\_|_/

Jet quickly walked to catch up to Sam and Rhodey as they joined the others. They looked to him and saw something was wrong. Logan asked, "What's up with you?"

"Lee and Mushi…" Jet said as he glanced back the way he came. He looked to the group and kept his voice down when he said, "I think they're Firebenders." Then he shook his head, "No, I'm sure of it."

"What?" A good deal of the group questioned. Jet then explained, "I saw it after the three of us talked to Lee and Tony. The old man with them was holding up a hot cup of tea in hands."

"A hot cup of tea?" Smellerbee questioned with an incredulous look. Peter then raised up a good question by asking, "Why would Firebenders take a hidden ferry to the Earth Kingdom capital?"

"Not to mention that they didn't really seem like the Fire Nation type." Sam argued in the two's defense. Jet looked to Rhodey and said, "What if they are Firebenders? And Tony's with them? Why?"

Rhodey looked to the ground and thought about it. Then he looked to Jet and said, "Look. I am worried about Tony, but this may be a little farfetched if you ask me."

"I'm telling the truth." Jet insisted. Wade came up and wrapped an arm around him and said, "Don't worry, Jet-Vac. I actually believe you one hundred percent."

"Really?" Jet asked, hoping that someone did believe him. Wade nodded and said, "Yeah, and I also believe that there are only a few more chapters to this story arc."

That made Jet look to the merc with a mouth a deadpanned look. He sighed and repeated, "Never listen to what comes out of Wade's mouth."

"Fine. Be that way." Wade pouted before walking off. Everyone was confused to see that he had stopped in front of a wall. Johnny then asked, "Uh, Wade? What are you doing?"

"I stormed off in the wrong direction." Wade said without turning around.

Outside the Outer Wall of Ba Sing Se, drill kept going at a snail's pace. And outside of the drill, both Rumlow and Abomination weren't having the best luck against the Earthbenders standing up to them. Each time that one of them would get near one of them, they would jump out of the way and keep their distance when they attacked. Blonsky and Rumlow looked to each other with the latter asking the former, "Why are they being so slippery all of a sudden?"

"Because they're weak." Abomination said when he looked to the Earthbenders. While some of them didn't take too kindly to that, they're leader raised a hand to keep them from engaging and said, "Steady fellas. Remember the plan."

"And plan is that, pray tell?" Crossbones questioned, feeling that something was up. The leader of the group smirked and said, "Wouldn't you like to know."

"Enough talk!" Abomination shouted before running up to the Earthbenders again. But like before they quickly acted and used their earthbending to jump away.

\_|_/

From under the drill, Bruce was keeping an eye out for trouble and could see what was happening between the Earthbenders defending the wall and the two Hydra agents. He grinned and said, "Seems like everything's going great over there."

"Can't say the same for over here." Toph strained as both her and the slab she created were pushed backwards. Bruce looked to her situation and said, "Oh."

\_|_/

From on top of the observation tower, the Destroyer continued to blast away at the rock wall between the drill and the Outer Wall of Ba Sing Se. It had managed to clear a good portion of the Earthbender's defense and was nearly done.

\_|_/

Inside the drill, they walked through a small hall and came into the space between the interior and the outer shell. Sokka looked up from the plans and said, "Wow, it looks a lot bigger in person than it does in the plans."

"That's because you're only holding a drawing." Clint reminded with a quirked brow. Sokka looked back to the archer with an annoyed look. With a shake of his head he added, "We're gonna have to work pretty hard to cut through the brace."

"What's all this "we" stuff?" Katara questioned ad crossed her arms. Then she pointed out, "The five of us are the ones who will be doing all the work."

"Look, I'm the planning guy." Sokka pointed out when he put the schematics away and turned to them. Then waving his arms up and down he said, "You guys are the cut-stuff-up-with-what-you-have guys." He pumped a fist into the air and said, "Together we're team Avenging Avatar!"

The five looked to each other with questioning looks from how silly Sokka was sounding. Steve then suggested, "Okay, let's get to work."

Aang used his airbending to jump over to another set of braces before leaping over to the backside of the brace where the others were. Katara then uncapped her waterskin and drew the water out with a gentle motion of her wrist. Then with a sharp push, she was able make it scratch along the pillar before it was caught by Aang. Aang caught the water before redirecting it back to Katara. They repeated the motions several times and were starting to cleanly slice through the metal brace.

Twenty minutes later…

Aang and Katara had reached the middle of the brace when they stopped to take a break. Both Waterbenders were panting from exhaustion and Sokka tried to lift their spirits by saying, "Come on, team! Don't quit now! We're…"

But Katara cut her brother off when she bended the water from her waterskin and turned to him with an angry look. Sokka gave a nervous laugh and said, "I mean, you're almost there."

Both of them sighed before getting back to work. After another minute or two, Sokka looked to Steve and asked, "Think that you're vibranium shield could cut through the brace?"

"I highly doubt it works that way, Sokka." The super soldier said with a deadpanned look. Sokka pointed to Thor with his thumb and asked, "But what if Thor used Mjolnir?"

"Like that would make this go any faster." Thor retorted with crossed arms. But the sound of one last slice of water through metal made them all look to Aang and Katara. They had finished cutting through the brace and they all fought to keep their footing when it started to slide. It slid a few inches and sparks flew as it creaked before stopping. Nothing seemed to happen and Katara sighed, "At this rate, we won't do enough damage before the drill reaches the wall."

"Then we may need to change tactics." Steve suggested, knowing that a lot was on the line. They were all startled from the sound of rumbling and the entire drill started to shake again. Thinking that it worked, Sokka looked to his friends and excitedly said, "Do you guys here that? We took it down." Then gesturing for them to follow he said, "We better get out of this place and fast."

"No. It's not what we think." Thor shook his head, feeling that something wasn't right. Sokka stopped in his tracks and Steve agreed, "Thor's right. One loose brace isn't enough to bring down something like this."

"Then the rumbling must mean…" Clint said and his eyes grew wide from realizing. Their fears were confirmed when they could hear the War Minister say from an audio pipe, "Congratulations, crew! The drill has finally made contact with the wall of Ba Sing Se."

\_|_/

From up in the observation tower, the Destroyer rejoined the princess, Mai and Ty Lee. War Minister Ching's dark smile never fell when he said, "You may start the countdown to victory!"

He seemed pleased at the sounds of cheers that came from the men in the observation tower and from what he could hear from the pipeline. From behind him, Azula was also pleased, even if her face didn't show it.

\_|_/

The sun was starting to set when the drill had indeed reached the outer wall of the capital city. It had moved past the ruined barrier that the Earthbenders had created and was starting to make its way into the wall. The tanks that flanked the drill on both sides started to move into position. From inside the drill, the rocks that had been ripped from the wall were being moved down a large pipe and sprayed with a large amount of water. It created muddy water that traveled through one large pipe before coming out on the other side of the drill.

\_|_/

Back amongst the braces, everyone became worried that it might be too late. Steve said, "I guess the diversion held out for as long as it could."

"We haven't failed yet." Thor shook his head. They all looked to Sokka who was trying to push the brace the rest of the way off. Clint shook his head, "Sokka, you know that that's not going to work."

"I-We need to get this brace to budge." Sokka strained as he kept pushing. Each attempt he made seemed more silly and pathetic than the last. But Thor just walked up to the teen and pulled him away from the brace. Katara then asked, "So, what do we do? Because this is really bad."

"We're putting everything we've got into busting these braces, but it's taking too long." Sokka complained when Thor released him. An idea popped into Aang's head this time and he said, "Maybe we don't need to cut them all the way through."

"Hm?" Steve asked and looked to the Airbender. Aang then explained by saying, "Toph has been teaching me that you shouldn't give one hundred percent of your energy into any one strike.

"Sokka, take a fighting stance." Aang requested of his friend. Sokka looked a little unsure about this before assuming a goofy looking boxing pose and moved his fists back and forth. Aang walked forward and tripped Sokka up with one foot while explaining, "You've got to be quick and accurate with the strike. Then you hit a series of points." He landed a few light blows to Sokka's middle, "And break your opponent's stance.

"And when he's reeling back," Aang finished up as Sokka was comically flailing his arms, the Airbender lightly bopped him on the head, "You deliver the final blow to them.

"His own weight becomes his downfall." Aang said as Sokka fell to the ground and had a comical look on his face. Aang chuckled when he added, "Quite literally too."

"I think I'm starting to get it." Clint agreed while enjoying seeing Sokka falling onto his face. Katara nodded and said, "So, we just need to weaken the braces instead of cutting them all the way through."

"Then someone will go to the top of the drill and deliver the final blow." Steve finished up the plan. Sokka pumped his arms when he excitedly said, "And then boom, it all comes crashing down!"

"Everyone inside that wall, and the whole world, is counting on all of us." Aang said what was on the line. Sokka quickly cut in by saying, "The whole world minus the Fire Nation and Hydra that is."

This was just met by deadpanned looks. Clint then said, "Let's get to work."

"Me, Sokka and Clint will all keep a look out while you three do as much damage as you can." Steve said when he looked to Thor, Aang and Katara. They all nodded and moved to get to work.

\_|_/

Down below the drill, Toph and Bruce hadn't been discovered yet, but things weren't exactly going their way. Toph groaned as she continued trying to slow the drill down with her wedge but to no avail. She turned her head upwards and commented, "Come on, all you Twinkle Toes! Hurry up."

"I was hoping to spare a pair of pants for a while." Bruce sighed, seeing that he needed to try and help. Toph turned her head and said to him, "It might not make much of a difference, but I do appreciate it."

"No problem." Bruce said as he suddenly started turning green. He quickly transformed into the Hulk before running up to a part of the drill that was connected to a set of treads. Both strained to try and slow it down as the drill continued to move forward.

\_|_/

Inside the drill, the group set to work weakening the braces. While Aang and Katara used waterbending to cut through them, Thor would bash Mjolnir against some of the others. And when they left the brace they had weakened, Clint would leave an explosive arrowhead attached to the frame of the door and armed it. From the doorways that was connected to the braces, Momo, Clint, Sokka and Steve all kept a lookout while they worked. After about their tenth brace or so, Aang stopped and said to Katara, "That's enough! We need to get to the next one."

They jumped a little when they heard a heavy thud coming from another area where Thor was. They looked to see the Asgardian bashing Mjolnir against one of the lower braces a couple of times before backing away. Then with a twirl of his hammer he flew back up to the others. He then asked, "How many more should we do?"

"I think one more will do the trick." Aang said, feeling that it would be enough. Steve then suggested, "Then we better move fast. Our presence here won't go unnoticed forever."

They moved off to get the job done.

\_|_/

Outside of the drill and on the wall, the Earth Kingdom soldiers started a new line of defense. Seven Earthbenders stood at the edge of the wall and used earthbending to lift some large boulders before hurtling them down at the drill below. All seven boulders banged against the drill when they hit but they didn't make a scratch at all. General Sung shouted to them, "Do not give in! Keep at it men!"

The Earthbenders nodded before raising boulders again and hurtling them down at the drill.

From inside the observation tower, Princess Azula, Mai, Ty Lee, War Minster Ching and the Hydra agents present were watching to make sure that everything was going precisely as planned. But it was interrupted when a voice shouted over the speaker, "War Minister! Dr. Zola! An engineer has been ambushed and his schematics were stolen."

This greatly surprised everyone, but even more so when another voice shouted, "War Minister! Dr. Zola! A brace on the starboard side of the drill has been cut clean through. It's sabotage sir!"

Azula, her friends and the Hydra Agents all looked to each other. They were about to move when the second voice then reported, "And from where I stand, some of the braces look like they've been bashed!"

"The Avatar and the Avengers." Azula glared, knowing full well that it was them. Scarlet Widow then questioned, "What do you want to do?"

"We divide our forces." Azula decided on the course of action. Pointing to herself, Mai, Ty Lee, the Scarlet Widow and Rumlow she said, "The three of us will inspect the inside of the drill.

"Abomination, check the outside of the drill and under it." She ordered the Gamma Monster. Blonsky nodded to her orders and then she added, "I want the Destroyer back on top to keep an eye out for any fliers in case the bison shows up."

"Let's go, people." Azula said before walking out of the room with her group following after her. Abomination waited a moment before looking to a greatly humiliated Ching and Zola before saying with a smirk, "Guess you two should have looked those plans from the Inventor a lot better, huh?"

The two just threw glares at him while the Destroyer pulled the laughing Gamma Monster away. The two exited the observation tower and the Destroyer started climbing again while Abomination leaped over the side with a roar. He crashed to the ground with a boom and started looking around. The Destroyer made it to the top of the observation tower and started scanning the skies for any threats.

\_|_/

Back amongst the braces, Aang and Katara were cutting through the final brace. And while the three Avengers were watching the door, Sokka was cheering them on by saying, "Good work, Team Avenging Avatar." He started to say, "Now Aang just needs too…

"Duck!" He screamed when he ducked under a ball of blue fire. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked up to where the fireball came from. They all were shocked to see Azula, her friends and the Hydra agents here. Azula shot another ball of fire at Aang, but the Airbender was quick to duck with a twirl. The others prepared themselves for a fight by reading what they had. Ty Lee was amazed that Azula had been correct on who was sabotaging the drill and said, "Wow, Azula, you were right. It is the Avatar and the Avengers.

"And friends." She added when she saw Sokka again. Sokka looked a little surprised for a moment before waving to her with his free hand, "Hey."

From behind his mask, Rumlow was secretly screaming on the inside to see them smiling at each other. On their brace, Katara walked by and yanked a yelping Sokka back to the door. While most of the enemy forces raced back to their door, Ty Lee used her acrobatic skills to jump backwards before using the brace to fling herself towards the Avatar. Aang responded by unleashing a large blast of air to knock her back. Ty Lee yelped as she was sent flying backwards in a cannonball style, but she managed to land safely on a lower brace. Seeing that she was occupied, Aang quickly raced to catch up to the others. Ty Lee watched him go before running to one of the doorways and jumping against the wall before leaping back onto the one above her.

The group ran into the hallway and while most went down the left path, Aang stopped at the intersection and shouted, "You guys go and get out of here. I got to go and finish this!"

But as he started running down the path to the right with Momo right behind him, Katara shouted, "Aang, wait!

"You're going to need this a lot more than I will." Katara said and removed her waterskin. She tossed it to Aang and he caught it. With the waterskin in his hand, Aang nodded his thanks. Captain America quickly said, "Good luck, Aang."

"You guys too." Aang said before taking off. The others quickly started running again just as Azula and her team reached the intersection. She pointed after the majority of their enemies and said, "You all follow after them. The Avatar is mine!"

They nodded and divided their forces yet again. Azula went off alone while the rest of the group stayed together. The team soon came upon a section of the drill that was connected to a large pipe. Katara read the words inscribed, "Slurry Pipeline? What does that mean?"

Sokka, Cap and Thor all turned the handle and the hatch opened up. They all looked down to see fragments of the wall drifting through a large man-made river within the pipe. Sokka then said, "It's rock and water mixed together. It also means our way out of here."

"Then we'd best hurry." Clint said when he looked back and could see Mai, Ty Lee, Rumlow and the Scarlet Widow coming. Cap looked to the kids and said, "You two first."

Katara was the first to go down into the pipe followed by Sokka. Clint followed after them before Captain America jumped in after him. Thor was the last one in and he gasped when Mai threw a few daggers his way. He went down just as they hit the hatch lid with a clank. All five tried to stay afloat as they drifted through the sludge towards the exit. The four reached the hatch and Mai cringed when she looked down, "Ew! Disgusting!"

"Don't be such a baby." Rumlow said when they looked to her and she glared at him. Ty Lee was in agreement when she said, "And you heard what Azula said. We have to follow after them."

"She can shoot all the lightning she wants at me and it wouldn't change anything." Mai argued. She grimaced when she remained firm, "I am not going in that wall sludge juice."

She gave a shudder at the thought of doing something like that. The other three looked to each other before shrugging and Ty Lee was the first to go down. Scarlet Widow went next and was quickly followed by Crossbones. Mai jumped a little when they made a collective splash in the sludge and commented again, "Ew."

Without a second thought, she reached for the hatch and shut it behind them.

Down beneath the drill, Toph and Hulk were still trying to slow down the drill when Toph sensed something. She stopped trying to hold the drill back and shouted to Hulk, "Hey, Abomination is out here again!"

That made the Hulk stop and they turned their heads in all directions. The sound of growling made them look back to see something lurking within the shadows. A deep voice chuckled, "So far from home aren't you, little girl."

"I could say the same for you, gruesome." Toph shot back at the Gamma Monster. The Abomination snarled before charging at the two. Both Hulk and Toph readied themselves for a fight as the former brought her arms inward and summoned a bunch of rocks to form a set of armor over her body. Hulk lunged forward and lashed out a fist when Abomination went in with a punch of his own. The fists collided and created a shockwave that sent a good deal of dust flying. The Hulk grabbed his foe's hand before twisting Abomination's arm. Blonsky roared in pain and Toph quickly came in by stomping her foot and it caused a sturdy rock to jut out from the ground and it struck Abomination in the gut.

Abomination crashed to the ground and got back up with a growl. The Hulk rushed toward Abomination and raised both fists in the air to strike. But Abomination seemed ready for him by grabbing both of the Hulk's wrists and followed up with a knee to the gut. Spit flew from Hulk's mouth from the blow and Abomination released him before balling his fists up together. He brought them down for a hammer strike, but they were stopped short before they could touch the Hulk. Both Hulk and Abomination looked to see the armored Toph standing between them. The girl strained as she tried to keep Abomination from hurting her friend. Abomination sneered when he questioned, "And just what are you hoping to accomplish by throwing yourself between us?"

"A chance to kick your butt." Toph simply put and smiled underneath her armor. Abomination was confused for a moment and she slightly shifted her foot. The ground started to shake under them, mostly Abomination, and a fissure started to open under him. Abomination staggered from the growing fissure while Toph and Hulk backed away.

Abomination was able to steady himself and looked to start fighting again, but Toph extended her arms and the rocks that made her armor flew at Abomination. Abomination covered his face so the stones wouldn't hit it, and was met with a barrage of the rocks. As soon as he lowered them, he was surprised when the Hulk came flying towards him and landed a kick to his gut. The Abomination was sent sliding backwards before falling onto his face. Toph quickly followed up with this by stomping her foot and raising her fists up into the air. Abomination was sent flying upwards and crashed against the bottom of the drill. He groaned before falling back to the ground and landing with a pretty loud thud.

Toph and the Hulk waited a moment to see if he was going to get back up, but the Gamma Monster didn't seem to be conscious. Toph slightly turned her head to the Hulk and suggested, "Let's get out of here before he gets back up."

The Hulk just groaned when he looked to the still form of the Abomination. But the Gamma Beast didn't fight her as they started running to the opposite end of the drill.

\_|_/

Back in the drill, Aang was running through the halls with Momo on his shoulder. The boy didn't stop for anything as he ran through the many corridors of the drill. He came across some rooms but didn't stop when he ran past several engineers. They all turned just as he ran by them. It wasn't much longer when he made it to a ladder and quickly climbed up it. The engineers who had seen the Airbender looked up as he disappeared out of sight. It wasn't until the sound of calm footsteps when they looked to see Princess Azula walking through. Her eyes moved to both sides of the path as she questioned, "Who said for you to stop?" She quickly ordered, "Double your efforts."

She didn't give them time to respond as she quickened her pace and ran for the ladder. Knowing that the princess wasn't someone to be trifled with, the engineers got to work.

Outside of the drill, it continued to burrow its way through the wall while a growing puddle of sludge poured out of the back. Katara, Sokka, Captain America, Clint and Thor all came riding out of the back with their arms raised and landed with a splash at the bottom. Everyone groaned as they picked themselves up and Sokka cringed from the taste while acting a bit like a baby. Cap was the first to get up and said, "Better get up. We're about to have company."

"Right. Got it." Sokka said as they all got back up on their feet. Clint noticed something on top of the observation tower and said, "Uh, I think that Aang's gonna have a problem if that sees him."

"Hm?" The group asked and he pointed. They all looked up to see the Destroyer standing on the tower. Captain America looked to Thor and asked, "Think you could take care of that?"

"It shall be done." Thor nodded and twirled Mjolnir a bit before launching from the sludge. The others shielded their faces from a wave of sludge before lowering their arms. Sokka looked down to the end of the drill and pointed, "Uh, guys. We have a few problems coming out way!"

They looked and gasped when they saw Ty Lee, Rumlow and Scarlet Widow coming out. They all had smirks on their faces when they were nearly at the bottom. But Katara had other ideas when she started waving her arms a little before using her waterbending to push the slurry and villains back into the drill. All three screamed as they were pushed back and struggled to escape. Katara then taunted with a glare, "Why don't go and try to block my chi now, circus freak?"

"Katara, keep up what you're doing!" Sokka said to his sister. Then he explained, "This will help to build up the pressure in the drill. And then it'll go when the final blow is delivered."

"Then let's hope that Aang will be able to do his part." Cap said while keeping an eye out for any other dangers. Clint felt a little nervous when he added, "And he better hurry."

And he was right as the front of the drill continued moving through the wall. It wouldn't be long until reached the other side.

On the observation tower, the Destroyer was keeping an eye out for trouble when something landed behind it with a thud. The large metal giant turned to see Thor kneeling before rising to his feet. Thor pointed to the Destroyer and said, "I don't know how you managed to come back to life or why you're under the service of Hydra.

"But I will not permit you to destroy the people of this world." He finished before spinning Mjolnir again. What the Destroyer did next shocked him when he heard a voice say, "Destruction comes to all eventually, Asgardian."

"Impossible. How?" Thor questioned when he felt like he recognized the voice. But he didn't have time to wonder when the Destroyer came rushing at him. Thor blocked a punch from the Destroyer before pushing the assaulting appendage away from him. Then he pointed Mjolnir at the Destroyer and fired a bolt of lightning at the automaton.

The Destroyer seemed to spasm from the electricity before Thor threw Mjolnir at it. The blow knocked the automaton off its feet and Thor leapt into the air. But as he came back down, the Destroyer managed to kick the Asgardian back. Thor landed against the roof of the observation tower and groaned in pain as he picked himself up. Both he and the Destroyer started to rise to their feet again to carry on the fight.

At a part near the front of the drill, Aang poked his head out of the hatch and looked around. He didn't see any opposition and climbed onto the top of the drill. He ran to where the drill head was buried within the wall and had many stones scattered about. He stopped at a spot that wasn't too close to the wall and said, "This looks like a good spot for the final blow, Momo."

The lemur just chittered before hopping off the Airbender's shoulder. But they were startled and jumped back when boulders started raining down on them. When he got a reprieve, Aang looked up to the top of the wall and shouted, "General Sung! Tell all your soldiers to stop dropping rocks down here!"

From up above, General Sung and his Earthbenders were taking a breather. None of them could hear Aang when he shouted up to them. The general looked down to the drill and ordered, "Soldiers, keep on dropping rocks down there!"

They complied with his orders by raising more boulders and dropping them over the edge.

Down below, Aang and Momo moved out of the way when more boulders came down on him. When they stopped falling, Aang gave an irritated sigh before getting to work. He bent the water out of the waterskin and started using it to cut through the metal of the drill. He would move the water one way before bringing it back to slash through the middle of the cut before repeating the motions. He managed to do it while boulders continued to rain down around him.

\_|_/

On the other side of the drill, Katara was still using her waterbending to keep the slurry stuck in the pipe. While Captain America and Clint were keeping an eye out for trouble, Sokka was trying to be encouraging by saying, "Good technique, little sister.

"Keep it up. And don't forget to breath." He added, really getting on her nerves. Katara huffed and said, "You know, I'm just about sick and tired of you telling me what to do all day. You're like a chattering hog-monkey or something."

"Just bend the slurry, woman!" Sokka shouted at her. Clint didn't look back when he commented, "Shouldn't have done that, man."

He was proven right when Katara raised her free left hand and sent a wave of slurry that knocked her brother over. They were all surprised when they heard Toph's voice ask, "You guys in need of some help?"

"We are actually." Cap said when he and Clint rejoined them. They saw the young Earthbender and the Hulk walk out from underneath the drill. Katara then said, "Toph, I'm gonna need you to help me plug up this drain."

"On it." Toph said before she took a stance in the slurry. She extended her wrist forward and it started to push the slurry back into the drill. Ty Lee, Rumlow and Scarlet Widow all cried out as they were sent further back into the pipe. But before they could go too far in, a large green hand grabbed them before yanking them out of the slurry. While they were saved, the slurry in the pipe caused the pipes to creak and groan from the strain of the slurry. Abomination landed at the bottom of the pipe with the three in hand and set them on the ground. Scarlet Widow said, "They're trying to plug up the drill. The Waterbender and the Earthbender are our priority."

"Hm." The other three nodded in agreement. Abomination was the first to run out of the drill and jumped at them with a roar. Hulk quickly jumped to intercept him and the two collided.

Rumlow, Ty Lee and Scarlet Widow came down next. Cap looked to the girls and said, "You two keep bending the slurry! We'll hold them off!"

"Uh, actually I haven't exactly forgotten my last experience wi-" Sokka started to say. He was cut off when Clint grabbed his arm and said, "Come on, Sokka!"

Sokka screamed as he was pulled along. The three moved in front of the girls while the two Gamma Beasts were slugging away at each other. Cap readied his shield while Clint fired an arrow. All three villains ducked from the arrow while Crossbones rushed forward and punched at the super soldier. Cap blocked the punch with his arm and stopped a kick with his other arm. With a flick of his wrist, Clint turned his staff into a bow and quickly readied an arrow. He fired it at the Scarlet Widow while Ty Lee cartwheeled over to Sokka. Sokka moved out of the way of her fist before catch her foot when she did a hand stand. The Water Tribe teen pushed the appendage away while slashing at her with his machete. Ty Lee nimbly avoided being hit.

\_|_/

From the observation tower, both Thor and the Destroyer were still going at it when the Asgardian struck a blow to the automaton's head. The Destroyer fell to the ground but managed to catch itself with its hands before turning to Thor and opening its face plate. Knowing what this meant, Thor dove out of the way when it shot its beam again and rolled out of the way when the Destroyer followed his movements. The beam started burning through the metal around the two and when it stopped its beam Thor took a glance at the burn marks. An idea formed in his head when he looked to the Destroyer. Thor knew he would have to incapacitate the Destroyer for his plan to work. With a yell he rushed forward with Mjolnir raised to strike at the Destroyer.

\_|_/

At the head of the drill, Aang was still working on cutting through the metal of the drill and was getting close to being done. He gave a few more cuts before taking a break. Taking deep breaths he said, "What I'd give to be a Metalbender right about now."

Momo's ears twitched and he looked back with a screech. Aang looked back and quickly defended himself by creating a shield of air when a blue fireball came at him. Momo screeched again when he took to the air and Aang shouted, "Momo, get out of here!"

The lemur didn't need to be told twice and flew off while Princess Azula came forth to face the Avatar. The Firebender took her stance while Aang remained in his. The princess had a slight smirk while Aang waited to see what she would do. Azula rotated her arms around while extending her two fingers before thrusting them forward and shooting two fireballs at Aang. Aang ducked down while spinning and sent an airwave to try and trip her up. But Azula managed to jump over it and tried to fling attacks at him. But Aang managed to counter each one and knock her hand ack with a water whip. Azula gritted her teeth from each time he knocked her hand back and decided to switch her tactics. She ran forward before jumping with a spin and kicked a few strong fireballs at him. Aang bent the water around him to try and shield himself, but the impact of the fire blasts knocked him off his feet. Azula tried rushing at him, but they both had to start jumping out of the way when boulders rained down on them. They were able to swiftly move around and avoided each stone. Aang saw the last one coming down at him and an idea came to him. Before it hit the drill, Aang was able to redirect it with a twist of his arms and sent it flying towards Azula. But she ducked down before rising up again and firing another blast. With a wave of his arms, Aang summoned the stone fragments around him and formed a shield to protect himself from the onslaught of fire. Aang retaliated by launching rocks from his protection and it put Azula on the defensive. She knocked one out of the way with a hand before kicking one up in the air with her opposite foot. With a growl she twisted her body before sending a flaming roundhouse kick to her opponent. Aang ducked down behind his barrier to avoid getting burned by the attack. Then he sent another rock hurtling towards Azula. But the Fire Nation princess jumped over the rock with a spin before extending her body horizontally and shot a pretty powerful blast of flames from her feet. The impact from the attack caused Aang's defensive wall to explode and it knocked him into the Outer Wall of Ba Sing Se. When she landed, Azula assumed her stance to continue the battle. But Aang had blacked out from hitting the wall and fell to the ground with a thud.

Azula smirked as she believed that she had won the fight. But before she could move to finish him off, she was jostled when the drill started moving again. The drill extended forward and went deeper into the wall while Azula stepped towards the unconscious Airbender.

\_|_/

The drill head managed to break through to the other side of the drill. The people on the other side ran off in fear when the buildings attached to the wall were demolished from the emerging drill. The destruction caused a large dust cloud to appear while the rest of the drill soon followed.

\_|_/

At the other end of the drill, the fights still raged while Katara and Toph kept the slurry in the pipe. Toph's eyes widened and she informed, "The drill made it through to the other side of the wall!"

That caused the fights to cease for a moment. While the siblings and the three Avengers were horrified to hear the news, the villains grinned to know that victory was so close. But Cap didn't want to give up and shouted, "There's still time to stop it."

"You sure about that, Cap?" Crossbone's questioned the super soldier. He shrugged when he said, "Our victory is assured by breaking through that wall."

"Didn't anyone not to count your platypus eggs before they hatch?" Clint questioned before flicking his wrist again and turning his bow back into a staff. Sokka then suggested, "Get them in one spot!"

Thinking that he had a plan, those free from bending the slurry charged at their enemies again.

\_|_/

Back on the other side of the wall, Aang was still unconscious when he started to disappear under the wall. But before he could go under, a smirking Azula walked up to the boy and grabbed him by the shirt. She pulled him from the space between the drill and wall and hoisted the boy to his feet. Setting the Avatar against the wall, she removed one hand. Aang finally came to when he lifted his head and opened his eyes. His vision was a little hazy, but he made out Azula standing in front of him as she lifted her free arm and a blue flame appeared in the palm of her hand. His eyes widened when he figured what would happen if he didn't act fast. Clenching his right hand, he pulled some stones over it to form a glove. And just when Azula was about to hit him with the fire, Aang grabbed her with his rock-gloved hand and shoved her away. The placing his gloved hand against her stomach he pushed her back.

Azula slid down the drill before coming to a stop. She glared at him and Aang assumed his earthbending stance. Azula rushed forward and with a wave of her arms she summoned streams of fire. But as she drew closer, the drill started shaking again. But it wasn't from the drill moving, it was from all the buildup of the slurry and it ended up breaking through the metal of the drill and ended up splashing them. Both Aang and Azula cried out as they were drenched in the stuff and Azula couldn't stop herself from sliding across the slick drill top. Aang was starting to pick himself up and slipped a little before finding his footing. Azula was still trying to stop herself and Aang gasped when saw her coming straight at him. She ended up colliding with him and they both smacked into the wall before being sent down the sides in the slurry.

Azula was able to turn herself and her shoes scrapped against the side of the drill. Sparks flew as she continued sliding before coming to a stop. She took deep breaths and glanced to the ground before looking back up to the top of the drill. Azula groaned as she had quite the climb ahead of her.

On the other side of the drill, Aang was sliding down his side and his rock glove was destroyed in the process. But luckily for him, Momo flew in and chittered as he grabbed Aang's shirt with is feet. The lemur used all of his might to pull Aang. And once Aang was basically to where he could stand, he started spinning his arms and running like crazy back to the top of the drill. Momo released him when they neared the top and Aang landed on the drill while Momo landed on his shoulder. He petted the lemur and was grateful when he said, "Thanks a bunch, Momo. I owe you one."

Momo chittered in agreement before Aang remembered the task at hand. He ran to the spot of the drill where his indention had been made and looked down at the X cut into the machine. He looked about and started to say, "Now all I need is a…"

He was cut off when a boulder landed to his left and he looked to the rock. Aang looked to Momo and said with a grin, "Actually, that is what I needed for once."

Momo chittered before flying off and Aang quickly set to work. Assuming his stance, Aang used his earthbending to drag the rock over the X. Then with a slashing motion of his right arm, he made a portion of the boulder fall away. He turned and repeated the motion with his left arm and another piece fell away. He repeated the motion a couple of more times and the rock was perched into the X of the drill. Aang gave one more slash and the top portion of the rock fell off. When it was complete, Aang began the next part of the plan. He ran down the length of the drill to get a good running start.

\_|_/

Back on the other side of the drill, the team was able to turn the tide against Ty Lee and the Hydra agents when Captain America and Clint knocked both Rumlow and Scarlet Widow into Ty Lee. All three fell to the ground with a yell and Hulk managed to land an uppercut on Abomination. All three villains cried out when they saw Abomination falling towards them and comically cried out when they were squashed under the Gamma Monster's weight. Cap looked to Katara and Toph and said, "Now!"

Both Katara and Toph used a rotating motion of their arms and it made the slurry under the villains start to swirl. Then with a sharp raise of their arms, the girls managed to throw the villains back into the pipe. They all landed with a thud with Abomination on the bottom and Ty Lee, Rumlow and Scarlet Widow on top. Clint then said, "Hopefully, Aang will get the drill to pop before they come too."

\_|_/

Up on the observation tower, Thor managed to get the Destroyer to burn through much of the structure. Deciding to put his plan into action, Thor started spinning Mjolnir really fast and created a tornado underneath the Destroyer when it took a step towards him. The tornado became strong enough to lift the Destroyer from the metal roof of the observation tower and started to raise the automaton high into the air. When it was high enough, Thor threw Mjolnir forward and went along for the ride. Soon, both the Asgardian and the automaton were pretty high into the air and the Destroyer practically as high as the walls of Ba Sing Se. The Destroyer opened its faceplate to try and blast at Thor, but he had a determined look as he went a little higher than the former protector of Asgard. With a strong fling of his arm, he threw Mjolnir right at the Destroyer and it struck it in the middle and sent it falling back down to the observation tower.

\_|_/

Back with Aang, he had come to a good enough spot to start running. He kneeled down and assumed a running position before taking off for the wall of Ba Sing Se. As he was running, Aang twisted his arms around and created an Air Sphere between his hands before using it as an Air Scooter. The Airbender rode it all the way to the all before turning his body and heading up the wall itself. After going up a few good yards, Aang's Air Scooter disappeared and he ran a few more feet. When he came to a certain point of the wall, Aang turned with a yell before heading back down. He ran straight down the side of the wall and his gaze fell on the spike of earth in the drill.

Azula, who had just made it back onto the top of the drill, looked to the wall and saw Aang rushing down the side. Seeing what he was about to do, the Fire Nation princess rushed to stop him.

After running down a few yards, Aang yelled as he jumped from the wall and went straight down for the spike. Twisting his hands before extending them upward he unleashed a blast of air that made him go much faster. And at the same time on the other end of the drill, the Destroyer was falling right for the observation tower.

Azula reached the spike and twisted her body around before unleashing a blast of fire from her finger tips, hoping to hit the Avatar. But Aang managed to beat the flames and they ended up flying over him when he used his earthbending to slam into the spike and sent it deeper into the drill. The shockwave created by him sent a screaming Azula flying backwards down the length of the drill. The Destroyer crashed through the observation tower. The people in the tower was shocked when the Destroyer not only crashed through the roof but ended up going through the floor as well. The blows from both Aang's spike and the Destroyer hitting the observation tower was enough to make all the braces that had been cut break off and the sludge started filling the drill. Clint's planted explosives also went off and it all rendered the drill inoperable.

On the outside of the drill, large explosions of slurry erupted from each breaks in the drill. From the back everyone managed to witness it and Sokka cheered from their victory. Toph looked to the others and shouted, "Here it comes!"

"Everyone, around Toph!" Cap shouted and the others gathered around the girls. When everyone was accounted for, Toph brought her hands inward before raising them to get them out of the way of the flood. The flood of slurry pushed the villains out of the pipe and the three grunted when they hit Toph's column. But they all comically cried out when they were crushed under Abomination's weight again.

Everyone on top of the column looked to the drill when they heard it powering down. Each piece of the drill dropped down with a creak, steam and smoke billowed out from the openings and the drill head stopped spinning.

Still standing on the head of the spike, Aang wiped off some of the slurry and smiled for a job well done. Momo flew back to the Airbender and chittered for a moment before licking some of the slurry off of his head.

\_|_/

On top of the walls of Ba Sing Se, slurry fell off the face of General Sung and he looked to see the mess of slurry that had been kicked up all the way to the top of the wall.

\_|_/

After landing on the roof of the observation tower, Thor held his hand to the hole that was created from the Destroyer's fall and recalled Mjolnir to him. The hammer crashed through the metal before returning to the Asgardian's hand. But before he left to join his friends, Thor looked down the hall to where the Destroyer was hidden in the darkness and thought about his encounter. Twirling his hammer really fast, he flew off.

\_|_/

From inside the observation tower, War Minister Ching and Arnim Zola looked to see the Asgardian fly off before looking to the mess they had made of his drill. They both glared at the loss of the drill and victory that had been so close.

\_|_/

At the back of the drill, Captain America looked to the others and said, "Let's go and get cleaned up."

"You said it. I could go for a bath." Clint nodded in agreement. Toph smirked and said, "Don't worry, I'll get us over to the wall."

With a slam of her foot and bringing her arms in, she started moving the column around the drill. The villains on the ground sat up and spat the slurry that had gotten into their mouths.

On top of the back end of the drill, Azula came sliding down the backside of the drill and leapt off the side. She landed before Ty Lee and the Hydra agents with a splash and ended up covering them again in the slurry. They wiped off their faces and glared at the Fire Nation princess. But she didn't pay them any attention as she looked back to the drill when she heard some creaking.

She looked to see an exit hatch open up and revealed the gloomy face of Mai. She didn't sound too upset about it when she said, "We lost."

"Gee, ya think?" Rumlow questioned when he stood up. The Scarlet Widow looked to Azula and asked, "What now, Princess?"

"We retreat for now." Azula decided and started to make her way from their loss. The others and the workers in the drill quickly made their escape as well.

\_|_/

Back at the train station, everyone was pretty oblivious to what was happening on the other section of the wall. Zuko, Iroh and Tony were still waiting when they heard the conductor shout, "Last call for Ba Sing Se."

"Looks like we're on our way." Tony said when they stood up. They silently made their way towards the train.

A bit further back, the Freedom Fighters and the Rescue team was also making their way towards the train. But they were a bit worried for their friend when Smellerbee said to Jet, "Jet, relax. So the old guy had a cup of hot tea, big deal."

"It's not really something worth getting worked up about." Logan agreed with her. But Jet wouldn't be swayed when he looked to them and said again, "He heated it himself." He looked to the three ahead of them and said with a glare, "Two of those three are Firebenders."

While the trio entered a car further up, the combined teams entered another car.

From in their car, Iroh, Zuko and Tony all sat next Than and his family. Iroh looked to little hope and said with a big smile, "What a beautiful baby."

"Thank you." Ying nodded to his kind words. She and Than then returned their gaze to little hope as she continued to sleep soundly.

Outside of the train at the back, a pair of Earthbenders pushed forward and with a combination of their earthbending they pushed the train out of the station. The bottom of the train scraped against the earth made tracks as it moved out of the station and headed for the big city.

\_|_/

Back on the Outer Wall, the group reconvened with each other. They were watching as the last of the drill's workers had rushed off into the country as the sun was about to disappear over the horizon. They had gotten themselves cleaned up and General Sung allowed them to sleep in the barracks for the night. Steve looked to the group and said, "Well, we did it, everyone."

"Yeah, we managed to get them on the run." Clint agreed with a nod. Even Sokka congratulated them by saying, "That was a good effort out there today, Team Avenging Avatar."

"That's enough with the Team Avenging Avatar stuff." Katara argued and crossed her arms. She looked to her brother and said, "It's kind of too on the nose if you ask me."

"But it's not that bad of a name." Bruce shrugged, kind of liking it. Sokka tried to think of another name when he said, "Well, if we're not in agreement with the name, then how about…" He quickly brought out his boomerang and said, "The Boomerang Squad?!"

"What?" Thor asked, not getting it while Momo jumped off of Aang's shoulder and onto Clint's. Sokka hooked his free arm around Aang and explained it, "See, it's good 'cause it's got Aang's name in it…" Looking to the others he said, "Say it with me. Boomer-aang."

"I kind of like that one." Aang said, thinking that it wasn't that bad and not wanting to hurt Sokka's feelings. Katara then suggested, "Let's talk about the whole name thing on our way into the city tomorrow."

"Good point. I could use some rest." Bruce agreed with her. But as the others started to walk away, Sokka suggested more names to them, "The Aang Gang?"

"Sokka." Katara sighed while Aang said, "Okay, now that just makes me sound like I have a really big ego."

"Not to mention it makes us sound like a boy band." Clint added while glancing to the Water Tribe teen. Sokka then said, "The Super Hero Squad!"

"You're crazy." Toph commented as they kept walking. Even Bruce didn't like the sound of it when he said, "What are we? Some kind of Saturday cartoon?"

"Come on, it's not that bad." Sokka argued while running after them.

\_|_/

At the Fire Nation camp, the princess and her entourage were in the biggest tent. While Azula sat on a throne with Mai and Ty Lee sitting beside her. The Hydra agents that were with her were all standing on either side of her. In front of them were War Minister Ching and Arnim Zola. Princess Azula had her hands folded in front of her when she said, "My father nor Johann Schmidt will not be pleased to hear of this loss."

"We've been suffering a number of losses of late, your Highness." Zola agreed with her. She quirked a brow and said, "Explain, Zola."

"Of course." The robotic head nodded. Then he said, "Most recently, more individuals from ours and the Avengers world have appeared into this one. Each one with their own unique abilities."

"And if they meet up, it could mean trouble." Azula figured from what he was telling her. Zola nodded again, "Yes, Princess."

"How soon can we get a word to the Fire Lord and the Red Skull?" She asked when she looked to Rumlow. Crossbones looked to her and said, "At the latest, about a day."

"Then we need to send the Red Skull a message that we'll be needing some additional forces in order to turn the tide." Azula said and rose from her throne. She looked to Ching and questioned, "Is there any news to report?"

"There is a bit of interesting news, Princess." War Minister Ching nodded. Then he reported, "It would appear that the Avatar's Sky Bison has been separated from the group."

"Hmm." Azula said as the gears in her head turned. Looking to Zola and Ching she ordered, "You two get to work on getting a message to the Red Skull about reinforcements. And recall Hammer's group.

"As for the rest of us." She said and looked to the rest of her entourage. They all smirked when she said with a dark grin of her own, "We're going hunting."

Author's Note: And another chapter is complete. Doing the part where Aang destroys the drill was my favorite piece. I added Thor using the Destroyer because I thought it was a good call. And I know that the parts with Zuko, Jet and the Rescue Team wasn't that big, but I hope to expand on that in the next chapter. And do let me know what you guys think of the chapter. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
