Hey there people that read this sotry, which has as the main treat that its author always says that he's going to update soon, and then 5 months go through before the next chapter.

I'm sorry, like, really sorry. This is the 43rd chapter of this fanfiction and, as I said, comes 5 months after the 42nd one. In this time, my life has changed, I'm now studying abroad, which caused that I couldn't even write a single line for 3 months. I hope you like this chapter enough to forgive, at a little, the massive delay. Again, I'm sorry.

It's TIME WITH REVIEWS!

fubja: I'm glad you loved the ending. It was suposed to be surprising, and don't worry, their rections are comming! THanks for your kind words.

Dragon of the western winds: I'm happy to know that this story was able to get you hooked. I hope you love this chapter.

Crazy Girl: Glad to hear it, enjoy the chapter.

Smile all of your days: I hope I don't disappoint now, this chapter was planned for a lot of time, and it's supposed to be great. I just hope it it, thanks!

Niche: Yeah, you have it. I repeat that it won't be really important, but you do. Thanks for your kind words. I hope you like the chapter.

Reiko x 3: I always thought that Ruby was not the best in the manga because he didn't want to even try. When he did, he was awesome. WARNING (small spoiler). I think that he would've won against Emerald if he had tried, but he didn't even try in my opinion. I'm glad this story was able to get to you. Thanks for everything.

Lazzanator/akai-hime/ILOVEPOKEMON/update-asker/shichi19: Thanks for you kind words, and here you go. I really hope you all enjoy the chapters. (the reviews said more or less the same and I didn't want to repeat the same things... sorry)

After TIME WITH REVIEWS, let's hear what our great LC5, our editor, has to say.

LC5: Yeah... This chapter is due a week later than it was intended... And that's kinda my fault. Ultra Sun and Moon just came out a few days after I received the chapter for proofreading and editing, and I just got caught up in Ultra Sun. If you wanna know my opinion on those games, then I'll explain it in a bit of detail. If you haven't played it and intend to, then this is your first and final warning to skip forward:

LC5'S USUM REVIEW: The game overall was done pretty lazily compared to SuMo, in my opinion. It essentially had the exact same plotline as the game from a year prior, but it actually did some story elements worse than before. Why do I say this? It's because the villains of the game didn't have as clear a motivation or even a clear objective, for that matter. Lusamine's search for the Ultra Beasts was kinda thrown under the wayside once you encounter Necrozma. And even the characters are arguably written worse. In this instalment.

Lillie (Who is hands down #1 Best Girl), isn't as interesting anymore because her character arc is cut JUST BEFORE it reaches its conclusion. I was legit hurting when I had to see Lillie leave at the end lf SuMo because she had a complete story arc that defined her character neatly and justly. Now, she's kinda dropped at the worst point possible, and then Necrozma hijacks the end because reasons.

(This is the last paragraph I'll take up, I swear) As I stated before, Lusamine was also done no justice in USUM. Once you encounter Necrozma for the first time, Lusamine suddenly stops being villain, and she gets zero closure on her storyline. She doesn't learn how to be a better mother of her children, she doesn't get a final boss fight anymore, and she most certainly doesn't get any comeuppance or retribution... at least not until the post-game...

...I'm sorry I spent three whole paragraphs venting on just a couple things I didn't necessarily like about USUM. Unless, of course, you skipped all that, in which case. TLDR: Didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I did SuMo.

This has been LC5, and until next time, PEACE OUT!

I have to add, as the writer that the delay on the story is completely mine. LC5 does enough reading throught hte chapter and correcting things. This said...

READ and ENJOY!

Chapter 43: When two gods clash

Emerald's POV

-My name is Ruby, and I am… THE CONTROLLER OF THE EARTH!

As soon as those words escaped his mouth, the earth below Rub literally broke and a torrent of fire erupted from it. Of course, it erupted along with the monster that created it, who carried Rub with it while roaring furiously. At the end of this spectacular entrance, both monsters were face to face, with their controllers on their heads.

-What?- I asked when I tried to stop, and turn around to look at Rub- What does that mean?

Since Red had my arm held firmly I was unable to stop and when I looked at him I saw a mixture of happiness, confidence, and irritation. It was clear that he had mixed feelings about the whole thing.

-Red? What does he mean?- I asked him- Why isn't he using his name?

-You're wrong, Emerald- he said- That's not a lie. In fact, this is the very first time he used his real name: Ruby.

-Ruby and the controller of the earth… Is it really him?- Silver asked and then I saw it clear as day. Everything matched too well to be a coincidence.

-Yeah…- said Crystal- seems that way. But why? Why has he kept it a secret for so long?

-That's something to ask him after we win this war- Red said- but for now though, we must help the other. He will be able to hold his own until we get back to help him.

As the two monsters and controllers stood there gazing at each other we dashed out of there. Not that I really wanted to, but Red was probably right. And so we left, leaving a shining red monster ready to battle another blue magnificent beast. That would surely be the battle of the century.

Ruby's POV

I felt so powerful, I have to admit. Standing so high, atop of one of the strongest monsters on the planet, the titan of the earth, was amazing. And knowing that I was able to control it was just something that added to that, it felt so great… that it felt oddly wrong. To give in to those feelings would mean to become the kind of person that I hate the most. The kind of person that Marchie was.

-Is that really you?- asked Marchie with a mixture of happiness and surprise in his voice, not an ounce of fear in it- Ruby? That Ruby? The one I kidnapped five years ago and that was able to escape from me with his friends?

-Yes.

-I really can't believe it… I really thought you had died that day- he said- My Salamence killed you.

-He sure tried- I answered- but no, I didn't die.

-And to think that I made them fight one grunt of mine that was impersonating you… - he said much to my surprise- That was funny.

At that point, I was almost shaking with rage. That wasn't something I would've expected. Using my death to make my friends suffer, to try and cause that kind of damage, was something I didn't think to be done… not even by him.

-You did what?- I asked then, but the question was never answered.

-You were always a prodigy, you know?- he stated- I followed a lot of your life. I had followed your steps for more than three years before I captured you when my grunts were unable to.

-So what?.

-I was always looking at you, trying to know all of you. Ever since that time when I passed in front of a school and I saw a little boy using a Poochyena, a Ralts, and a Skitty beat the crap out of three boys clearly older than him. It was awesome.

That explained a lot actually. I know that I'm a Gym leader's son, but that doesn't explain how he found me. I wasn't famous back then, and my father wasn't well known either. Only close friends knew it back then. It was only after the day he was accepted as a Gym leader that he became known.

- When we came to get you, I really thought that it would be easy, you could be good, but those were adults you were fighting. And then you were able to beat them with ease- he said- I was even more surprised then, but well I was able to get you anyway.

-By using my mother as a hostage...

-Yes, it's true- he said a vicious smile in his face- and then we trained you helping you get better, hoping that you would show your true power. This power, the power to control the titan of the earth, Groudon. But before we could extract it, you got away and died. Seemed like fate wasn't on my side.

-Fate is a bitch- I said unable to control myself.

-It is, but I really like the way it's turned out- he said- after extracting the power from Sapphire, I'm now the controller of the seas while you, being the controller of the earth, are the only possible threat that would stand a chance.

-You're way too happy despite knowing that I'm a threat.

-I understand that you're a threat, but you don't know anything- he said- My dream is to own both powers at the same time. And with you dead, this would've been impossible. Now this is a possible option since, due to pure luck, I'm the one with the advantage here.

-You shouldn't rely so much on type advantages- I said- that's a basic rule.

-Of course I know that, but it's also true that type advantages exist- he said- and I'm going to use this one to the limit.

I then opened all of my pokeballs revealing Mimi, Zuzu, Popo, and Nana. Ruru had been down for the count before starting the war, so I was unable to use her, and Ditty was still tired after the long journey.

-Nana, Popo, and Mimi, go help the others and return as soon as you can- I commanded- Zuzu, you stay here and help me.

"I DON'T NEED THE HELP OF A LOWER CLASS POKEMON TO BEAT THIS FISH!"- was Groudon's enraged voice.

"Oh, but you do, you mud lizard"- was Kyogre's now.

"I WILL KILL YOU BOTH!"

-I'm not keeping Zuzu to protect you- I said- more so for my own protection. Since there's nothing you would love more than to take me out of the picture and fight alone.

"Huh"- Groudon's voice sounded a bit surprised- "Cocky, but not stupid."

Blue's POV

That sun ray meant a lot of things and all of them were positive. And more when the sky upon us cleared in a matter of minutes revealing a shining sun in the very middle of it. With the sun, not only their attacks were failing more, but our spirits seemed to came back too.

Every one of us was battling better, without the nuisance that was the rain and cold, we could focus more on the battle. The grunts seemed to have been thoroughly prepared to fight under heavy rain and it showed. Now these facts were equalized, and even if we had the fewer numbers, the fight had taken a turn for the better.

Right now, I was fighting Zan on my own while the other officers were holding off the minor grunts. And I have to admit something, he was good. His style was something like mine, but with 4 Ditto's. Those 4 pokemon were transforming again and again, always transforming in one pokemon that could easily resist my attacks. Right now, I was against an Arcanine, a Hitmonlee, an Ivysaur, and a Golem.

Normally, Dittos are only able to transform after a long while, like it happens with Ditty, who can transform again after 8 minutes. These Ditto's though, kept transforming and transforming again in a time span of 30 seconds more or less. That is something extraordinary. But as much as I wanted to know how he did it, I couldn't concentrate on that. I have to beat him.

-Arcanine, use Extremespeed! Ivysaur, use Razor Leaf!

-Blasty, use Protect! Bull, Double Team and Dynamic Punch!

-Hitmonlee, use Brick Break on it- he answered- Golem, change to a Raichu and use Thunderbolt on the Blastoise.

-Withdraw, Blasty!

With only two pokemon of mine and the Victreebel, Magmar, and Pelipper, it was difficult. Those three pokemon were not mine and not as strong as anyone of the Pokedex Holder's pokemon. That meant that each attack they received hurt them more and each attack drained more energy.

-Pelipper, use Stockpile! Magmar, Flamethrower the Hitmonlee!

-Hitmonlee to Cloyster! Now Icicle Spear on Victreebel!

-Melt the spears with Acid!

This battle was sure one of the most tiring I've ever had to endure. There was no stablished pace, I had very few of my pokemon and my rival had like all the pokemon existent available to use… 4 times. He still had 2 more pokemon, but he still had to show them. For all I know they are two more Ditto's, although I feel like the pokemon responsible of his Teleportation was the real thing, whatever it was.

-Golem, use Rock Slide on Magmar!

-Megapunch them, Blasty. Bull, use Dynamic Puch on the Golem- I commanded, but Blasty, too, was tired. She was able to destroy all the boulders, but one. And the Magmar was so hurt that just one was enough to knock him out. He had fought valiantly. He deserved the rest.

-Golem to Gengar! Ivysaur to Breloom, and use Mach Punch on the Granbull!

-Protect Bull, use Wing attack Pelipper!

-Arcanine to Rhydon and use Rock Blast on it!

-Victreebell protect Pelipper with Razor Leaf.

The battle was almost a dead end. I was attacking, but I could land very few hits on his pokemon, but the same could be said about him. The thing I had to do was clear, I had to predict what pokemon would be the one he would change for and attack it with a super effective hit, but that was not easy. Not at all.

Gold's POV

The best sensation when battling is, without a doubt, turning the tables in a battle that seems lost, and win it. That's the thing I like most about battles, anything can happen until the very end, and that's probably why I'm so good at them. I'm not good at predicting what will happen, but I AM good at using what happens to my advantage. Like when out of nowhere the rain that was falling upon you stops and a sun brighter than ever shines.

-Explotaro, use Flamethrower on the pokemon on the left! Utaro, Mimic him to the pokemon on the right!

-Machamp, use Strength to throw the debris to their rear line of pokemon.

Due to the length of the battle, the ground was destroyed and massive pieces of debris were on the floor. Their strategy was simple, but good enough. With the numbers on their side, almost 3 to 1, they could defend from our attacks, even if now, they were clearly unable to land an attack on us. Even that they were still winning, since a lot of our pokemon were more than tired.

-Nothing seems to work, Green- I said- we're not advancing.

-I know, but we have to keep it up- he said- we have to create an opening. We have to help Red and the others.

Just then I heard a noise behind me. A lot of loud noises were present in the battlefield, but this one was different. I looked behind me frantically until I saw a yellow blur come at me. It jumped in front of me, then on my head. I turned my head quickly only to see that a Pikachu, Pika, was standing upon two KOed Starmies. The Starmies were still half invisible due to the Camouflage while Pika's tail was still shining, signalling an Iron Tail attack.

-How does it feel to have your ass saved twice in the same day Gold?- asked Red then- You owe us a lot of favours.

-What are you doing here?- I asked when Red and Crystal came to my side while Green and his pokemon kept holding off the incoming attacks.

-Were helping you end this- said Crystal- then we'll go end this war for good.

-But how? What happened with Marchie and Kyogre- I asked- did you win?

-He almost destroyed us, but thanks to Rub, we're still here and alive- said Red- Right now he is holding him off using Groudon. We've got to win this and go help him.

-We're severely outnumbered, Red. How can we win this easily?

-Acting like you- was Crystal's voice now.

I was looking for the meaning of her words for a minute until it happened. Three massive beams, a Solar Beam and two Hyper beams fell from the sky just upon the enemy lines. At first it seemed that it wouldn't do much damage since evading them was easy enough. Or was it? The answer is simple. It wasn't.

Just as they tried to evade the attack, aimed to the middle of the enemy crowd, they found themselves unable to, some kind of magical barrier blocked their path. As the smoke seemed to clear and the barrier disappeared some grunts stumbled out of it, but no more than three steps were all they achieved. Saur was in charge of trapping all of the ones that got out with his Leech Seed.

As Emerald and his Mantine landed at my side I spoke to him.

-Good job- I said sincerely.

-Not enough, though. I was able to trap only two-thirds of them- he said.

-No plan is perfect, but this will be enough!- said Green by my side.

-Do you have more Potions?- asked Emerald while shook my head- I used my last ones in Mantine.

-I have two of them- said Green.

-Then give me one, I'll used it for Lax- said Red- since I only have Pika and Saur who are still able to fight.

-Any spare ones?- asked Crystal then- How many pokemon do you have?

Emerald, Green, Red, Crystal, and myself. 5 of the best battlers in the world and six more officers ready to take on only fourteen grunts of the unknown organization. It was true that the amount of pokemon wehad was no more than 3 pokemon each, but even that, we were going to do it. One thing I've always believed it, if the 9 of us are together, there's nothing we can't overcome.

In fact, there was only 5 of us, but no matter what, we would be more than enough.

BRROOOOOMMMM!

-What was that?- I asked when a cloud of dust covered us for a minute.

-I don't know!- was Red's voice.

-Pidgeot, use Whirlind to clear the area- was Green's command.

As soon as the wind cleared all the dust in the air we looked behind us only to see that a shiny red creature was on the ground. This creature was as big as the building he was on top of, like half of a skyscraper. I couldn't see it very well since all around it seemed to be huge mountain of rubble.

-It's Groudon- said Crystal looking at the monster intently.

-Has he lost?- asked a very frightened Emerald.

-It can't be…- was Crystal's voice.

-We have to go and help him- said Emerald.

-NO!- shouted Red then- We have work here.

-But Red. Ruby was on top of it- said Emerald to my surprise. What did he mean with Ruby?- And he took two buildings with him. He could be injured. He could've…

-Wait what do you mean Ruby? You said that Rub is the one controlling Groudon…- I said before some gears started turning in my mind…- Wait, it can't be!

-It can, and it is- said Green- Rub and Ruby are the same person. And right now, he's controlling Groudon.

-Then we have to go and help him- I said- He was knocked out, if Kyogre is the winner…

-It's still not over Gold- said Red- Do you think Ruby would be down so soon?

-I don't really know Red- said Emerald- Ruby was in the hospital until this very morning.

-Look at the sky Emerald, the sun is still up and shining brightly- said Red- If Groudon was KOed, the rain would be here again.

Just as Red said the earth below us started to shake so much that we all fell down. It lasted for a good minute and some small cracks appeared on the street.

GROUDOOON!

With that shout the massive red monster began to stand up and after that unleashed a massive beam from its mouth directly towards the sea.

-Can't you see?- was Red again- Ruby is too strong to go down without a fight. You should really know that.

-I do, but… but HOW?

-Don't overthink it Gold- was Red's voice.

-We don't know how either, Gold- said Green form the other side- we'll have to ask him after this. Right now let's focus on the grunts!

-Hell… yeah!

Blue's POV

To call that battle a dead end, would be an understatement. I couldn't catch the rhythm of it at all. With so many changes I couldn't get used to it. The only good thing is that he seemed to have fun battling me, since he wasn't really trying to beat me. My pokemon were getting more and more tired after so many hours battling so a big push of his pokemon would probably make the battle be his.

-Ampharos, use Thunderbolt!

-Victreebel, use get in front of Pelipper and use Vine Whip on Vaporeon!

-Vaporeon to Rhyhorn!

-Blasty, use Hydropump on the Rhyhorn!

-Omastar to Lapras!

I called back the attack, but it was no use. My battle reflexes were slower than before and the same happened to my pokemon and the ones I borrowed. And that resulted in a very strong attack that instead of hurting the enemy, healed and restored one of their pokemon's health. Ditto's also gains the pokemon's ability and Lapras can have the Water Absorb ability. The problem was, that these had happened 4 times already.

-You seem frustrated Blue- Zan said mockingly- what's the matter?

-Shut up!- I retorted. I was normally one of the most collected in our group, but this battle was surpassing me. Maybe the small concussion I had suffered was affecting me, but I couldn't get used to this battle's rhythm. Not at all.

Some more rounds went by, and my pokemon were nearing their exhaustion point. I was careful not to heal his pokemon again and I was able to hit one of them with a super effective attack, but I also lost Pelipper. Meaning that I only had 3 pokemon available to battle and no more potions. Things didn't look too good.

-What's the matter sis? You're always tricking people into doing what you want, and now you don't know what to do when your rival does the same?- spoke a voice behind me.

I didn't even need to turn nor even to listen to the voice at all to know who was talking to me. Only one person can and ever dared to call me sis, and it was no other than Silver, my all-except-in-blood brother.

-Seems like it- I said, with two people this would be a lot easier. Even more if we take into account that our coordination was something to be feared of- What are you doing here?

-Rub is taking care of Kyogre- he said- with Groudon. He's controlling that monster now.

-He is, huh?- I said then, not really surprised- Can I extract conclusions of this?

-You can, but we should really focus in the task at hand- he said- we have to beat this guy.

-He's strong, maybe a little too much, Silver- I said- his strategy is nothing I've ever seen. There's no way to hurt him badly.

-There's no perfect strategy Blue, although I have to say that his strategy is quite good- he said- and I'm sure it requires a lot of training to perfect it.

-If you know something, then tell me- I said- We've wasted enough time and we can't give him any openings.

-He is strong alright, but you're wrong, we've got all the time we want before he finds an opening- he said surprising me.

-What?- I asked- What do you mean?

-Well I'm sure that he has at least two pokemon that aren't Ditto's so if the strategy fails, he could Teleport with a Psychic type or attack with the other, but with these 4 pokemon, he can't attack- he said- or at least, not now. Am I right?

I was expecting Zan to launch an all-out attack in order to silence him, but nothing came. In fact, he seemed quite surprised and frustrated.

-Why? How?

-It's a lot easier to understand a battle strategy from outside the battle and that's what I've done- he said- and although complicated, this strategy has some weaknesses. The first one is that it's a reactive strategy… he can only attack after you do.

-That's not true, he's attacked me first a lot of times- I said.

-Yeah, but now he can't attack- said Silver- and that Ditto/Lapras still has to attack, but don't worry, he won't do it anytime soon. It's all in the time before every transformation.

-I don't understand anything.

-Ditto's can transform completely into another pokemon, gaining all the stats, abilities, and attacks, but for that to happen the transformation takes some time- he said- Switching from one pokemon to another means that the Ditto can't completely acquire some of the pokemon characteristics, like the types or some attack.

-So you mean that Lapras has only gained the ability?

-Exactly. What's more is that these pokemon are only capable of attacking once with the first attack they're commanded to use after so rapid switches- he explained- but the problem is that when you're battling them is very difficult to know which one has attacked and which hasn't. And it's impossible if you know nothing about it.

-Well that's an interesting strategy, he's got to practice a lot in order to be able to keep up with all those transformations- I said- What do you have to say Zan? Is Silver right?

-Of course he is- he said smiling- everything he said is totally true.

-You're not upset about it- Silver said.

-No I'm not, why should I?- he asked- You know my strategy, but you lack the most important thing… you don't know how to counter it.

-You've got to hand it to him- some other voice said- our youngest Golden-rank is one of the most intelligent people you'll meet.

-Malcolm!- was my reaction when I saw, again, the blonde man with the half burnt face in front of me- I thought me and Rub had already beaten you!

-You beat my pokemon, but with the right equipment, they can be restored in a matter of minutes- he said again- And now we're 2 vs 2. And ironically, I've been beaten by both of you in only a week. I believe that I'll finally earn my revenge against you.

-Revenge… is that the only thing you want Malcolm?-asked Zan with a hint of playfulness- what about glory?

-I'll leave the glory to you dear cousin… But revenge is all I ever wanted, for my face and for my dignity.

-Take out all of your pokemon Blue- Silver said- I only have three left. Come out, Feraligatr, Rhydon, and Gyarados!

-I'm sorry Silver, but Bull and Balsty and this borrowed Victreebel are the only ones I've got left- I said before adding- and since when do you have a Rhydon?

-It's a long story that will be told after we win this- said Silver.

-Then you'll never be able to tell it- I heard Malcolm say as he released his whole team.

4 Ditto's from Zan and Metagross, Camerupt, Golem, Hitmonlee, Crawdaunt, and Cradily from Malcom's side. We only got 6 pokemon in total, all of which are tired.

When the battle started, I thought it would end in mere minutes. Malcom attacked fiercely and Zan defended all of the attacks without fail. Plus, two pokemon were making the battle a hell for us. In one hand Cradily was resistant to all our water attacks while Metagross was using his long-range attacks like Psychic or Psywave to confuse our pokemon and hurt them badly. It wasn't until some help cam to our aid that we were able to turn the battle into a disputed match.

All four of us were extremely surprised when out of nowhere the Cradily received an Ice beam attack just before a massive fire ball fell from the sky, effectively knocking it out. Just after this happened a massive Roar was heard and 2 Ditto's came back to their pokeballs and Golem, who was centimetres away from using a 4 stage Rollout on Bull, withdrew too. Just after this had happened, three pokemon positioned in front of us: a Mightyena, a Milotic, and a Castform. Rub's pokemon.

-So Rub told you to come and help, huh?- I asked the pokemon, who just turned and nodded their heads.

BRROOOOOMMMM!

Just after they did an enormous cloud of dust covered the area after a tremendous sound that almost left me deaf. When it cleared I was able to see that one of the buildings in the first line before the sea had crumbled when a massive shining red pokemon had fallen on top of it. It passed a whole minute, and Groudon was still on the floor, not moving an inch. When I looked by my side I saw Silver with his mouth open, not believing what had happened.

-That was quick- said Malcolm then- seems like Kyogre was really much better than Groudon.

-Is it over?- asked Silver then, surprising me- Has Ruby… really lost?

-Mi!- was the sound of one of the pokemon in front of us.

All three of them looked at Silver with murderous intentions for an instant, before turning towards their enemy with determined gazes.

-They are his pokemon Silver, and they're choosing to battle here like Ruby told them to do- I said- so don't even think about it.

GROUDOOON!

After that massive shout, Groudon got up and sent a massive green beam in the sea's direction.

-I've seen Ruby battle and he's stronger than me. Way stronger than me. He's using Groudon against Kyogre, like he said, a monster against a monster- I said- He won't lose until we go help them. He knows that if he does, we've lost. As hurt as he is… That's the kind of person Ruby has always been!

-You don't seem that surprised, as if you know who he really was- he said.

-I've had my suspicions for a while now- I said- since I saw him battling and hearing some things he said. Now let's focus on this battle, we'll have time to shout at him later!

Ruby's POV

A scorching sunlight on one side and a rainstorm on the other. The shore in my side and the sea in his end of the battlefield. Everything seemed designed for this battle, so symbolic that it gave the battle an even greater dimension. I took out the borrowed Pokedex to analyse my enemy.

"Name: Kyogre

Type: Water

Description: -

Known attacks: Water Gun, Primal Pulse, Hydropump, Blizzard, Ancient Power, Sheer Cold, and Water Spout"

It seemed that the information that any one of the ten Pokedex had gathered was immediately transferred to the others. With this I knew all the attacks that this monster had used against Emerald and the others. Most of them were Water type attacks, but it also knew some Ice type attacks and Ancient Power. This last one really scared me since it could boost the pokemon stats to extreme levels.

-Start with Water gun!- was the first command of my rival, eager to start the battle he had waiter for his whole life.

-Mud Shot!- I retorted.

I was surprise when Kyogre unleashed such a massive torrent of water, if had someone told me that this was a Hydropump and not a Water gun, it would've made more sense! That's not to say that Groudon's Mud Shot was tiny. Even being less effective than the incoming attack, the Mud shot was able to cancel the incoming attack perfectly, not allowing any damage.

-Water Gun bullets!- shouted Marchie, not at all surprised.

-Mud Shot! Rapid fire!- I commanded.

Groudon used the same technique as Kyogre repelling all the bullets except one. That bullet was coming directly towards the pokemon head, and therefore, me.

-Zuzu, use Protect!- I commanded and my faithful pokemon positioned in front me before creating the green-blue barrier that deflected the attack.

"So it can really protect you…"-was Groudon's voice.

-You did it on purpose, huh?- I said then- I'm not really surprised actually.

-Have you finished testing your mutual abilities?- asked Marchie with an amused voice- I would really like to battle against the formidable team you make… If you're prepared to cooperate that is.

-You talk like you and Kyogre are the best coordinated team- I retorted- We're controlling them, but against their will, don't forget that.

-You really are brave telling me, Marchie, what to do- he said with a malicious laugh- That confidence is praiseful… Kyogre let's try a real Water gun now!

So they were rally testing our abilities…

-Use Bulk Up!- I commanded and Groudon flexed its muscles and put both arms in front of its torso.

The bigger this time stream of water collided with the outside part of both arms and dissipated. The attack was a super effective one, that would easily KO non-resisting pokemon. In Groudon's case though, the damage was almost nonexistent. And that happened even when Groudon had boosted his abilities too.

-Groudon, use Flamethrower!- I commanded before Groudon unleashed a massive torrent of fire towards our fishy enemy.

-Calm Mind!- was Marchie's command then.

I knew that this would happen. I know Marchie, he's always got everything under control. He's been studying both monsters for all his life before getting them so I'm really sure that he knows all their strong and weak points t…

-Aargh- was the sound that escaped my mouth when I closed my eyes for a split second- shit!

A massive torrent of water was coming my way when I opened them again, so I commanded Groudon to unleash his Fire Blast attack. I a massive amount of steam was created when both streams collided. I braced myself when it happened again for the 10th time.

"You sure you're focused on the battle, kid?- Groudon asked then- I won't allow you to be the reason I don't beat that fish.

-Shut up! You need me in this battle- I answered whipping the sweat from my forehead, the temperature was rising and the steam was not helping.

-Hydro Pump!- on the other side, it seemed that Marchie was easily handling the situation. The sphere in his hand was shining brightly as he controlled the massive beast.

-Use Fire Blast again!- I commanded.

As the massive fireball travelled across the air and collided with the massive water stream, it cancelled the attack again. As another cloud of steam was created in the middle I thought about the next part of the battle. As the steam wasn't thick enough to cover Marchie completely I had an idea.

-Kyogre use Water gun bullets!

-Fire Blast to all of them!- I commanded and the only thing I saw before steam covered the area was his smirk.

I knew that something was coming. We'd had the same idea so I looked around for a while until I saw some sparks of light in the air. I knew what was coming.

-Use Eruption!- and as soon as I ordered that, Groudon looked up and stomped hard on the ground with his right foot.

As soon as it did that a massive magma torrent erupted from the ground and towards the sky. As the lava covered us, the water spears from the Water Sprout collided with it, evaporating at contact while the solidified magma fell on us like small weightless rocks. Zuzu's Protect was more than enough of a protection from those.

-Hydro Pump!

-Fire Blast!

Again and again I was able to counter those attacks. He seemed surprised every time it happened, since it was unusual for two similar attacks to cancel each other when one has that much advantage. The bad thing was that even if I was able to defend myself, I wasn't attacking, and, therefore, the battle would be long. Too long.

-Ancient Power!- I heard him yell.

-You too! -I commanded, when I noticed the boulders coming my way.

The boulders collided with each other just 20 meters away from me, and in order to avoid the rocks I had Zuzu use Hydro Pump on the ones that came too close to me.

-You are doing well at repelling my attacks- he said- and you've still to use you best attack against me.

-I was trying to save…- I was saying when… the 11th came- to save it as a surprise attack. Figures you would know about it though.

-I know everything about them- he said- I've studied them for all my life. Even before you were born. They were my dream. Some people dream of being a Gym leader, others to be a known Professor and you dreamt about becoming the Pokedex Holders… My dream was, is and will always be, control both Kyogre and Groudon. And with them, the whole world.

-You won't be able to make it true then- I said- We'll make sure of it.

-Kyogre use Hydro Pump, rapid fire!- he commanded then.

If at first the water gun bullets seemed to be massive, these ones were terrifying.

-Groudon use Solar Beam!- I commanded, it really was the only option I got- Now aim at Kyogre!

After making the bullets evaporate Groudon aimed the Leftovers of the massive attacks towards the enemy, but as before, the evaporated had created some steam, thus blurring the image I got from Marchie. That's why I almost panicked when I saw what they had in store from us.

-Unleash your Primal Pulse, Kyogre… now!- he commanded and I soon saw the strongest and more massive stream of pressurized water I've ever seen in my life.

-Crap!- I said then- Groudon use…

BRROOOOOMMMM!

Yellow's POV

-Why? Why can't I wake her up?- I asked myself.

I'd been trying to shake her and shout in her ear, but nothing was able to do it. Her sleep was nothing but peaceful, so it was so weird that I couldn't wake her up. There were two, explanations for that… Sapphire could just be a heavy sleeper, but that's not the case. She is a person able to sleep anywhere and in a ridiculous amount of time, but it takes just a sound to activate all her senses, normally… The second one that she had been forced to go to sleep with a pokemon attack, and that's the hypothesis I was working on.

I'd tried to wake her up, but I needed to know what had been used against her… Spore? Checked it already… Sleep powder? No again. Then the only thing that could've don it was Hypnosis. And since it's a Psychic attack it's more difficult to detect. Now that I know, though, I know how to wake the person up… You just have to enter the dream, of they have one, and then calm the person down inside the dream… It was difficult to calm her down, but after some tries, I was able too.

-Huh?- was the sound that the girl that was below me made- what… where? How?

Disorientation… the most normal outcome of the Hypnosis attack, more if you interrupt the sleep midway like I did.

-Stay down Sapphire- I said- Be still for a while, I can explain everything… Just calm down.

-Yellow?- she asked trying to sit up, but I pushed her down.

-Don't move, you'll feel dizzy for some moments- I said- it's normal.

-I know that, but my head hurts like hell and something more- she said- like... like never I've experienced before. Where are we anyway?

-We are in Walo's mouth- I said- in the bay just 50 meters from where the organization's submarine is. It still hurting that much? Your head, I mean.

-Yes.

-Okay, let me try something- I said as I tried to examine the part- How about your arms and legs? Or your hand?

-They're fine, and what do you mean about the hand?- she asked.

-You had 3 deep cuts in your hand- I said- How did you make those?

-I don't kno…- she said before she put both hands on her eyes, she then shot her eyes open and sit up in a flash- It was Marchie, he made those using some kind of machine and extracted some, blood? It was blue like some blue… liquid? I don't remember anything before being in that blue space while Rub and Blue fought the grunts… and then they fought me, or the thing that was controlling me. I Knocked Blue out, and I hurt Rub pretty badly too… how are they? Where are we? Tell me Yellow?

-Don't make such sudden movements!- I commanded- and calm down.

-I can't calm down- I said- I hurt the friends that were trying to help me, and when I was going to explain everything to Rub, he just put me to sleep because he said that I needed it.

-Rub was able to bring you back- I said, I'd seen it in Kyogre's memories- and yes, they're okay… Blue was the one that left me in your care. She seems somewhat dizzy, but apart from that she was quite fine.

-What about Rub?- she asked- He fought those grunts, he helped me get out of Kyogre's control, but he was still hurt. Where is he?

That was the question I didn't really wanted to answer. I didn't know how to… Is Rub really the controller of the earth like Kyogre deduced? If that's the case, Rub and Ruby are the same person. I can't tell her this without being completely sure about it, it would break her. Not to mention that if she discovered it now I don't know how she would react.

-Yellow? Where is he?

-Outside- I said- fighting.

-That means he's okay enough- she said somewhat hopeful- But he shouldn't be.

-I've been looking at what's happening outside through Walo- I said- And things are complicated.

-What do you mean? What's happening?- she asked- I don't understand.

-Marchie is controlling Kyogre and attacking towards the shore- I said- I believe that Red and the other were fighting him, but not anymore.

-Who is he fighting against, then?- she asked-

-Rub is on top of the monster fighting Kyogre and Marchie- I said- he's fighting with Groudon. I don't really know how, but Groudon is fighting alongside Rub against Kyogre and Marchie. And it's one hell of a battle.

I said, he was thinking quickly, I could see it just looking at her face. I kept talking in order to distract them.

-The last time I received any information- I said pointing at my PokeGear- Crystal, Emerald and Silver had arrived from the Pyramid. After that I saw bits and pieces of the battle Kyogre had agains 4 figures. I don't really know who they exactly are. I believe that Crystal, Emerald and Red are three of those four.

-Walo! Open your mouth and let us get on top of you!- she commanded and as soon as she said that the whale pokemon obliged.

-Sapphire, you're still weak!- I said- you shouldn't even be going outside.

-I don't really plan on sitting around while my friends are fighting and getting hurt to protect me- she said- We have to go and fight alongside them.

-I want to do that too- I said serious- you have to believe me. But I was told to look over you, I won't let them hurt you again after Blue and Rub were able to retrieve you. You're still hurt, you can't risk going out there.

-I can't risk going out there you say?- she asked and I knew I had played my cards as badly as I could've- Blue got hurt while helping me, and you've all taken a lot of risks to retrieve me and end this war. And Rub, the one who protected me 2 days ago at the cost of almost dying is fighting the strongest monster we've ever faced.

-But Sapph…

As I said this she just came out of the pokemon's mouth and climbed on top of its enormous back. She wasn't as agile as always, but she was too used to climbing in order for that to be a problem. I followed her suit and I saw her looking at the massive battle that unleashed before our eyes. I couldn't really believe it.

A red massive figure was countering water with fire, and I still don't know how… they were tied. I looked at the other behind that crimson figure and I saw the destruction that the battle had caused. Some buildings had been erased, a massive pile of rubble and debris in its place.

-But nothing Yellow- she said then- I'm fighting. I would never forgive myself if I just sat around… I know I can't always save everyone. But I can try, and I will try. You have tried to keep me safe and helped heal my wounds, your job with me is more than done. Now I'm the one that has work to do.

-Wait, Sapphire, at least let me check on you one more time- I offered, but she declined and took out a pokeball.

-Relo! It's your turn now!- she said- You're one of the best people I've ever met Yellow. You're so kind. Do what you always do, the things you think are right. You're much more than the healer of the group and I'm more than the scared little girl that I was 5 years ago when I entered that prison with all of you. And I'm going to show them that! Relo, Dive!

This said she jumped into the sea along with her newest pokemon leading the way. I looked at her disappear with a half-smile. I knew she would do that as soon as she woke up. She had grown so much… but she was still hurt. I grabbed my PokeGear.

-Rub?- I asked to the person at the other side.

Ruby's POV

-Unleash your Primal Pulse Kyogre… now!- he commanded and I soon saw the strongest and more massive stream of pressurized water I've ever seen in my life.

-Crap!- I said then- Groudon use…

BRROOOOOMMMM!

I was falling again… The attack had struck Groudon in the body, the grey and weakest part of its body and had propelled him backwards, where it crushed against the first line of buildings. Hoow I knew this? I could see it while falling from its head. I took a Ditty's pokeball.

-Ditty, turn into a Pidgeot!- I commanded- grab me and Zuzu!

Using its Mach 2 speed, the pokemon was able to catch my right hand perfectly before Zuzu fell on top of it. It was clear that both of us were too heavy for the flying pokemon so I returned Zuzu as soon as I could.

As soon as I touched the ground, I noticed Groudon's lines shine. They shone for like ten seconds, but then they stopped. I was really thinking that something would happen, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary… until I looked at Kyogre, and I was stunned.

Four massive ground-made spears had pierced through the sea water until colliding with the massive whale's body. I didn't expect much damage to be taken form that attack, but the power behind it was so strong that Kyogre was lifted off the sea leaving it completely visible and quite hurt too.

-Solar Beam!- I yelled then.

After I said it I felt quite idiotic. Groudon was on the ground, hurt from that attack. That last attack had been just the response to my last command, being Precipice Blades. So imagine my surprise when I heard a massive shout coming from behind me.

GROUDOOON!

Only to be followed by a massive Solar Beam that struck directly towards Kyogre's weakest point, just below its mouth. The massive monster was then thrown back a lot of meters before crashing with the sea water with a loud splashing sound. The monstrous pokemon sunk for a little while, but I never expected it to be out yet. True, that had been a massively effective strike, but Kyogre is too damn strong. What's more, I didn't see Marchie anywhere, but I never allowed myself to think that he was out… Twelfth.

-Stop spacing out kid!- was Groudon's voice when I noticed that Kyogre had surfaced and had sent two massive tsunamis towards us- This'll be the last time I say it. If you can't keep your focus, I'll fight alone.

-Shut up and use Eruption!- I commanded.

Just as before, Groudon stomped hard on the floor and the earth broke in front of us. The lava that got out of it rose quickly forming a 7 meters tall mount of incandescent magma between our spot and the coming tsunamis. The first one solidified the magma to a huge amount of fragile rocks. The second one was able to break the improvised wall, but we were prepared for that.

-Groudon use…- the thirteenth- Solar Beam!

The massive attack was charged I no more than a second before being fired towards our enemy again.

-Hydro Pump!- commanded, surprisingly, Marchie from his "usual" spot atop Kyogre's head. He wasn't alone though, he had an Alakazam with him.

The attacks collided just 20 meters away from where he stood and the outcome wasn't so surprising. Both attacks cancelled each other.

-I understand now- Marchie said- that's how you did it. Very clever Ruby.

-That's how I did what?- I asked, although I already knew what he meant.

-Repel all my attacks- he said with a laugh- it was so simple yet so tricky. You just played in your field. Under the rain my attacks are stronger, but under this sun fire is stronger and water weakens considerably. With these facts you just timed your attack so that both attacks would collide under the sun. Quite bold though…

-Why?

-If the times had been wrong, I would've won by now- he explained- To soon and I would've had the advantage of the field and momentum. Too late and my attack's momentum would've been too much for you to handle. Color me impressed.

-It's true, all of it- I conceded- so what are you going to do now that you know that? Keep attacking and when I do counterattack Teleport with your Alakazam? Like you already did I mean.

Just then a buzzing sound made my attention divert to the PokeGear I had in my pocket. I quickly answered it.

-Rub?- was Yellow's voice at the other side of it.

-Tell me, but be quick!- I said in a harsh tone. Way more than what I intended.

Marchie's POV

The battle of gods was unleashing before my eyes. My dream had been to own both monsters and conquer the world using their magnificent power, but… this battle was something I had dreamed off as much. And I was fighting again someone younger than me, it's true, but said person is a prodigy. I supervised a lot of promising kids back then, when I searched for the better options for being the controllers or, if they weren't, be a good addition to our Organization's numbers.

Of course, those 10 kids had been the ones chosen, but Ruby was different. Younger, but more mature and way stronger. Red and Green were good too, but not like him. When he had the advantage, he was nothing short of a bulldozer to the grunts that were fighting him, but when he had a clear disadvantage, even then, he was able to turn the table around. Just like with his use of Groudon's attacks.

Only one person was so strong at that age before, that I've seen with my own eyes, of course. My brother, Sird. I was able to beat him, true, but only after I mastered my viridian powers. When we fought without them being allowed… He won, every single time. But at that battle, in which we decided to use all of our resources and bet the command of the organization… I used them and won. It's not my fault that he was born without them, and he knew it.

-Hydro Pump blasts!

-Fire blast them!

-Blizzard!

I saw for a moment the stunned face of someone that wasn't expecting that attack. He didn't react to the attack thinking that it was going to be useless. And he was right, for the most part. The ice spears melted when the sun heated them and no one arrived to the massive pokemon. But that wasn't my plan.

-Hydro Pump!-I commanded again, c'mon use Fire Blast again.

-Solar Beam!- he commanded and I saw him smile for a moment until he coughed multiple times.

The Solar Beam was able to push through the Hydro Pump, but before we came in contact with it Kyogre sent out a Water gun attack to deflect it.

-You saw right through it… good reflexes.

-You wanted to create more water that would make up for the evaporated parts of the Hydro Pump- he said- It's… *cough cough* more difficult to melt more water.

-Exactly.

"You're talking way too much, human"- said Kyogre's voice in our heads- "We could've already ended this fight".

-I'm having so much fun… Plus what's the glory in winning a one sided battle- I said- And before you say anything else… I doubt that we could've finished this earlier. Not against him.

"Then finish it now"- it said again.

" You can try, fishy!"
"I won't try, I will win!"

-Since you won't… I'll be attacking now!- said Ruby then- Fire balls!

As soon as he said that, Groudon unleashed 5 massive fireballs. One was coming directly towards me, while the others were not as precise and landed within a 20 meters circle. As we defended from the one coming directly I noticed that steam covered the area.

-Tsunami, Kyogre!- I commanded then, and I wasn't wrong.

As soon as Kyogre turned to created the massive wave, a massive green beam cut the air in our direction. When it collided with the giant wave, it dissipated along with the steam.

After that Ruby started pushing more and more. Fire blasts, Earthquakes to create Tsunamis that would repel the ones Kyogre created, a Solar Beam every now and then... He was not accomplishing much though. Kyogre was able to counter all of those attacks, but he didn't give us time to attack at all. That was until he left an opening, one that I wouldn't let go to waste.

-Kyogre us Pri…

"WATCHOUT, human -he said in an alarmed voice- from behind".

As the words resonated in our head, it turned my back towards Ruby and looked towards the sea. I commanded Alakazam to take position in front of me and prepare for an attack.

"Your right!"

As that word entered my head I heard a splashing sound and a torrent of water collided with Alakazam sending it to the cold waters behind me. As that happened I saw a blue blur coming. I was unable to react as I saw a hand go directly towards the blue sphere in my right hand. I moved it out of the way, but she grabbed my arm. Sapphire was almost able to take the blue sphere containing her own power to control Kyogre, when the sea monster turned violently and threw us both in the air. Alakazam appeared in a flash and in another, he Teleported me to Kyogre's back again. As I looked up I saw Kyogre gathering a massive amount of water again in front of its mouth. The rain and sea water were compressed more and more until Sapphire was in front of Kyogre's mouth. Sapphire's face was of utter panic before Kyogre unleashed the Primal Pulse that would kill her…

-Zuzu, Hydro Cannon!- was the shout that came from Ruby.

But it would be useless, even an ultimate attack, and from a sunny position, had nothing to do against Kyogre's strongest attack. Plus being as far as it was, it would take a lot of time before it arrived… What? The attack never came from Ruby's position. It came from below Kyogre and, even if it wasn't strong enough to beat it. It deflected the attack enough to miss Sapphire as she fell to the sea.

As she did though, Kyogre shook violently and almost tumbled when a Solar Beam struck its left side, missingfby some centimeters from Kyogre's weakest point. A sharp pain invaded my right arm then and I winced, kind of expecting an incoming attack from Ruby. But it didn't.

As things calmed down I saw Sapphire standing atop a Wailord, with a Relicanth swimming by the whale's side and a Tropius landing behind her. She did seem intimidating, so much different than 5 years before.

Sapphire's POV

I was almost able to take it from him, the blue sphere that held the power to control Kyogre. I knew nothing about it, but I knew that if he lost it, then he wouldn't be able to control the monster anymore, and maybe I would find the way to gain control of him again. But when I was propelled to the air… I thought I was done for.

Seeing Kyogre aim at me with that much power was terrifying, but even if I went down, the small plan would still be of some use for Rub. At least, that's what I thought as I heard him call his Swampert to use Hydro Cannon, an ultimate attack. I couldn't believe that Zuzu had been able to learn that attack, but it did. Compressing a large amount of water into its mouth, it unleashed a massive torrent of water, nothing short of what Feraligatr or Blasty were able to do. And it saved me.

-*Cough cough*!- was the sound I heard from behind, where Rub was atop Groudon- Be happy that Yellow warned me that you were coming. Next time, don't be so reckless, though.

-You can't really tell me not to be reckless, Rub- I said in an angry voice- Not after what you've been doing toda… Rub!

When I looked at where he was supposed to be I was scared for a second, and then I understood what happened. Rub was able to deflect the attack enough to make it miss me, but then Groudon was in the direct line of the attack. It was clear that Groudon had tried to protect himself, thus leaving Rub completely open on his head. That caused Rub to almost fall off the giant pokemon's head, where he was hanging only using his right hand.

-Pilo!- I yelled, and my pokemon understood completely.

He positioned just below him and then he paced Rub again to the place he was supposed to be, on top of Groudon.

-I'm okay, thanks. *cough*- he said then.

"I could've defended from this attack if it wasn't for you- said Groudon's voice- If you hadn't stopped me from attacking to protect Fishy's controller, this would've been over by now."

-Shut up!- was Rub's voice. It was odd, it sounded angry, very angry. Angrier than ever before.

-Well since your little reunion is over, why don't we resume our battle?- said Marchie taking four pokeballs out.

-Sapphire! I need you to…

-I won't go away Rub- I said anticipating his words- I'm not going to sit and be the damsel in distress any longer… This time I'll fight.

-Just shut up and hear me!- he yelled at me angrily.

That threw me back a little. I've never heard Rub sound so angry before, and much less hear him talking to me like that. He looked so angry and intimidating. Almost as much as when he fought Matt and Mike to protect me.

-I'm sorry, just hear me…- he said, voice shaking- I need you. I can't do this alone. He's going to use his pokemon to attack us and I need you to beat them all *cough* while I keep Kyogre busy. I can't do this without you.

My mood changed completely. Even if this was not the time to think in anything else than the battle at hand, I was happy, I wasn't feeling particularly well, but I was happy. Rub was counting on me, he trusted me and I wasn't going to deceive him. I looked at Marchie as he released 4 of his pokemon: Armaldo, Aggron, Sharpedo, and Camerupt who joined Alakazam on top of Kyogre. I took the pokeballs in my hand.

-I got your back- I said confident- You've been helping me since I met you, and now it's my turn to return the favor. This time we'll fight… TOGETHER!

That's the end of the 43rd chapter. We're nearing the last chapters of the stories and I'm going to try very hard to make it as good as I planned it. I hope it not disappoints.

Thanks for everything and for sticking by.
