Like I said, I did a poll and saw that most people wanted a fic with Luffy with the Goro Goro no Mi. Not actually surprising, I also wanted to write this fic. But since we already have quite some stories with this idea I decided to change things up a bit, so yeah, a lot of genderbending and a crew that basically only has Luffy was a male. I think this will be interesting. There is also another big change that I made that you guys will probably be confused with, but read until the end of the chapter or go right the final notes where I explain it. I will also attempt to be more versatile with the Goro Goro no Mi, there are quite an amount of things that can be done with lightning or a logia, and I want to explore it. Either way, enjoy the chapter.
The sky was clear of clouds, it was a beautiful and sunny day, perfect for the start of the journey of the Pirate King.
In a boat, in the middle of the open ocean, a tall and muscular dark-haired boy with a scar under his left eye was lazily lying on the boat. He used a red t-shir, a short jeans, a pair of flippers and had an impressively old straw hat in his head.
"Bored, Lu?"
Besides him, there was a blonde girl lying on him, with her index finger playfully wondering on his muscular chest. She had long blonde hair, used a long black jacket with a buckle on the left sleeve, with a blue shirt and vest, a frilled cravat, and a simple belt holding a pair of loosen light-blue pants with black boots.
Her lips were of a strong red, clearly because of a lipstick.
"Shishishi, with you here how would I be bored Sabri?"
As Luffy said that he played with her hair, making the blonde smile even more.
"You know what to say to a girl, don't you?"
Sabrine says as she leaves some light kisses on his chest, marking it with her lipstick.
"Of course I do."
Both laughed as Sabrine made herself more comfortable, lying on top of Luffy and putting her face next to his.
"Say it, when do you think we are going to land?"
"Dunno, doesn't really matter, we are in no hurry."
He said as he caressed her hair and kissed her forehead, just because he felt like it. To what she answered kissing him on the lips, and that's what they did for several minutes. Separating her lips from Luffy she smiled and asked.
"When do you think we are going to have some action?"
"Shishishi, we can have it now."
Sabrine rolled her eyes and explained.
"That's not what I meant silly."
She picked Luffy's cheek and played with it as she said that, what only made the dark haired smile more.
"Hehe, I know. But you are right, it would be nice to fight a little soon."
Luffy says stretching his arms and getting up, hugging Sabrine and looking at the horizon.
"Yeah, it would."
...
"Well, that was fun. Always a blast to see you using your powers Lu. They were also so useful to make us arrive here, it's much easier to travel when you know where you want to go, hahahaha."
Some few hours later, Luffy and Sabrine, with a new guest, a pink haired boy called Coby arrives at the island in the Yotsuba Region of the East Blue, the one with Shells Town on it.
"It's all thanks to Coby. Are you sure you want to join the marines? You would be a nice navigator for my crew Coby."
Luffy said as he patted Coby on his back, as if he was trying to raise the boy's spirit.
"Thanks Luffy-san, I feel honored, specially coming from someone as strong as you, but my dream still is to be a marine, and... and... one day, even arrest you!"
And as if Luffy's gest had worked the small boy even manage to declare his ambition, something that would be a bold dream for him a few hours ago before the whole event where he met Luffy and Sabrine.
Hearing Coby's declaration the couple of pirates smiled to the boy, but their expressions were obviously challenging him to try and go after them.
"We should get going. We need to figure out where the Roronoa Zora is, and Coby needs to go enlist in the marines."
Sabrine said as she hugged Luffy's arm. However, before they could even give one step further into the town, Luffy's stomach rumbled, and rumbled as if a thunder was falling from the sky. Some fishermen, workers and civilians that were around got scared by the sudden noise, and looked around looking for dark clouds that would be the sign for a storm, however, they saw nothing, only getting more confused.
Trying to hold her laughter Sabrine put her face on Luffy's shoulder. Coby also gave a small laugh, accompanied by Luffy himself.
"Before we do anything I need to have lunch."
"Yeah, we can't go recruit a new crewmate with empty stomachs."
So the three nonchalantly walked down the streets, casually looking for some place to eat. Coby didn't have much money with him, even after they defeated Alvida's, the one that enslaved him, the boy barely got any money for himself, letting Luffy and Sabrine keep most of it. Of course the two of them didn't mind paying for his food.
It didn't take them long before finding a nice looking family restaurant. Twenty minutes later and Coby and Sabrine were already full, with Luffy still devouring all the piles of food they could possibly pay for, what meant a lot. Their table was already full of plates, the straw hat user was eating faster than the restaurant could take the plates out.
"So, what exactly is your plan Coby? Do you know anything about the base here?" Seeing that Luffy was still busy with the food, the blonde decided to ask the pink haired about his future plans.
"I am a little worried because of my background, but there is nothing I can do about it, except hope for the best." Coby said, both to reassure himself and to try act confident. Seeing that both Luffy and Sabrine smiled at him, approving his words, he continued. "About the base, well, I don't know much, but I think is kinda famous. The captain got the infamous Kuro of a Thousand Plans, his name was... Morgan, I think."
Hearing him talking both the blonde and the dark haired nodded, with Luffy's cheeks still being full of food. However everyone else that was on the restaurant jumped afraid, putting as much distance as they could from the trio.
Each one of the three had a different reaction to that. Sabrine raised her eyebrows starting to formulating some ideas on her head to what could be the situation on the island. Luffy simply laughed as he finished eating the last dishes, even so, like his girlfriend he also had an idea to what was going on. In counterpart Coby looked around confused, not seeing to understand the implications or reasoning for the people to act like that.
After that they didn't stay for much longer since Luffy had finally finished his pile of plates. The owner didn't seem to mind when she saw the payment though.
"Shishishi, that was a funny place."
Luffy said with his arm around Sabrine's waist as they went down the street to go to the marine base.
"I don't understand. Do you two have any idea what made people react that way?"
Coby however still haven't moved on from the weird scene on the restaurant. His mind simply couldn't get around what was the reason for those people's actions.
"You know Covy, maybe you shouldn't blindly trust the marines." Sabrine said looking ahead, without taking a glance at the pink haired boy.
"W-what do you mean, Sabrine-san?"
He stopped in the middle of the street and looked confused at the blonde, that even so still didn't look at him.
"Let's go to the marine base Coby. Maybe you will understand there." Luffy was the one that answered, making a motion with his hand for Coby to follow them.
Confused and with a sense of dread in his chest Coby knew whatever happens from now on, whatever the two of them seemed to already knew that he didn't, he couldn't go back. Good thing that he didn't want to. Gulping, he went on to walk side to side with Luffy.
It barely took than minutes to get to the marine base. It was the biggest building of the city, and while normally this would be a good sign, Luffy and Sabrine felt a sensation of opression coming out of that base, even Coby gulped nervously in front of that place.
"Well, haha, here we are. So what's your guys plan?"
Trying to fake normality the wannabe marine asked to the pair.
"That's with the captain. So, what will be Luffy?" Sabrine asks smiling as she poked Luffy's right cheek with her index finger.
"Hmm, let's see." He starts moving towards the wall and simply stretching his feet he manage to look above it.
Hearing him whistle Sabrine and Coby also moved to the wall, but since both were not so high as Luffy they had to use their arms to support their bodies and look above the wall.
Luffy had a curious look, Sabrine had a neutral expression and Coby was shocked.
"W-what she is doing in the middle of the square?"
What crossed their eyes was a big and empty square, with mostly dirt on the ground and grids around the whole place. It was almost empty, except for one person. Tied by some ropes to a wooden cross, using a dirty white shirt, a green haramaki in her thin waist, dark pants and boats of the same color.
She was looking down, shadows covered her face so none of the three could describe her expression. The woman had short green hair, that also looked dirty and was covering her forehead and eyes.
"H-hey, you guys, wanna come here and untie me? I'm tired of this place already... If you do it, I will have some money for you..."
Coby hold the impulse to beg for them to not free her, after all in his mind, if they let her free no one would know what kind of blood bath could happen. However he remembered the straw hat boy's powers and closed his mouth before even one word was out.
"Let you go? Well, I don't know..." Luffy started saying in an ironic way. He was interested and curious in this said mortal bounty hunter, but before he could continue a ladder showed up out of nowhere on their side, with a little girl being the one to climb it.
She looked at her right and left than looked at the trio and put her index finger in front of her mouth, asking them to be quiet. As Coby got more confused with this development, Luffy and Sabrine quietly watched as the girl approached the supposedly deadly criminal.
What followed as a conversation with the little girl offering Zora some rice balls, to which the huntress replied telling her that she shouldn't be there and to go away as fast as she could. The green haired woman didn't even take a glance at the rice balls, with added to her harsh words didn't exactly made the little girl feel to good.
While Coby complained about how she could be so inhuman, the pair of pirates noted a slight glint of worry on her eyes, as well as that she made a lot of effort to simply not look at the rice balls. They understood less and less why such a woman was in this situation.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE KID?"
Suddenly a voice resounded in the square. Zora gritted her teeth and the little girl paled at that, even letting her carefully made rice balls fall on the ground.
Three people entered the square, two obvious marines, one being bigger and looking more muscular, with blonde hair, steel jaw and an axe for one of his arms. His clothing also showed his position as a captain, the captain Morgan the pink haired boy mentioned earlier, while the other just looked like a plain marine. The third person was a convinced looking brat with also blonde hair and, at least, weird choice of clothing.
Coby commented in his relief that marines showed up, but Luffy and Sabrine, seeing how the little girl reacted with pure fear, they were certain nothing of good would come from these marines.
"Girl, don't you know how to read?"
Morgan said, pointing to a board with sayings that no one was allowed to come in the square or get near the prisoner. The girl got even more pale and gave some steps back, getting closer to Zora, that looked at the three with rage.
"Uhh, what scary eyes Roronoa. Do you want to challenge us? Are you looking to die?"
The blonde boy said pointing to the huntress, challenging her to reply, to which she replied only with a click of her tongue.
"I-I-I..."
"THE RULES ARE CLEAR, AND IF YOU DON'T OBEY MY RULES YOU DESERVE DEATH!"
It was as if the whole island went silent, not even a single leaf seemed to fall from a tree. Coby eyes were so wided that it wouldn't be a surprise if they fell out of his head, his whole world vision was just crashed in seconds in front of him, it would take a burden in his mind.
Even if he didn't knew the girl, Luffy got enraged to the point where he accidentally broke the part of the wall he was holding. Sabrine wasn't much better, though she didn't broke the wall, purely because she had better control of her strenght and emotions. But both were leaking killing intent.
Firstly hearing that Zora's eyes went wide, just like Coby, but in the next second she was already just as enraged as the duo of pirates and tried to force her way out of that stake to save the girl.
The little kid herself fell on her knees crying and screaming.
Even the blonde boy and the second marine were shocked with the captain's action.
"W-wait dad, she is just a little k-"
The boy started to try to negotiate, only to be punched by Morgan himself and be sent to other side of the square.
"SHUT UP! THOSE WHO DISOBEY ME, WHO DISOBEY JUSTICE MUST BE PUNISHED!"
"B-but dad-" The boy tried to argue still on the floor with tears getting out of his eyes as he looked at his father with fear.
"Shut up! I already let you fool that bitch with that stupid deal of yours! I am already tired, she is dying today too!"
Morgan declared those words no longer looking at his son, but at the little girl and, the slightly shocked but much more enraged, Zora behind her. The boy didn't dare to go against the captain anymore and simply tried to go further away from him.
"I thought we had an agreement!" She said between gritted teeths looking at Morgan wishing she could just separate his head from his neck.
"That was me letting my useless son to try to get some fame as the one that imprisoned and later killed the pirate huntress. But if he can't even do as much as reeinforce justice, he doesn't deserve to do so!"
The other marine stayed still, pale and sweating like he never did in his life. Morgan approached the girl, looked down at her and raised his axe like arm. The second marine gulped and pointed his arm to his superior, ready to pull the trigger, knowing he would probably be killed.
"So you are justice? What do you think about it Lu?"
That simple question seemed to broke all the tension as Luffy and Sabrine joined, suddenly showing up at Morgan's side. Everyone looked at them with a mist of shock and curiosity, except for Morgan that looked at them with even more rage.
"WHO ARE Y-"
Interrupting the marine, that was only a little taller than him, Luffy put his hand on Morgan's shoulder and pushed him down on his knees. Morgan had no chance or ability to resist and from one second to the other he was put on his knees because of a random boy that he never saw before.
"Stay still." When the dark haired boy said that, sparks of lightning went out of his body to Morgan, surrounding the captain and paralyzing him. Didn't matter how much he tried to move, his muscles simply couldn't obey his mind.
Not giving a second glance to the marine he moved to the little girl with Sabrine on his side. Luffy got on his knees and Sabrine inclined, both wanting to get their faces near the little girl.
"Shishishi, don't worry, the bad guy won't hurt you now."
His words as he patted her head brought a sense of relief the little girl didn't thought she could feel on this situation.
"Want to come with me? I know someone that will bring you to your house."
Sabrine said as she extended her right hand. The little girl hesitated for some seconds, looked at Luffy and then grabbed Sabrine's hand. The two went out of the square, where Sabrine gave the girl to Coby take her home. Still in shock and saddened he did what was needed and Sabrine went back to Luffy's side. While this happened the straw hat user went face to face with the pirate huntress.
"How the fuck did you do that?" The green haired woman had to ask seeing the weird development things took. She could see the lightning arcs that sometimes showed up around Morgan's body but she had no idea how that was possible. Unless those things she heard drunken old people talk about in some bars were true.
"Shishishi, it doesn't really matter for you now, does it?" Luffy asks confidently smilling at her.
"Tsc, yeah, you are right. Who are you and what do you want?"
"I am Monkey D. Luffy, future Pirate King! And I want you to join my crew!"
"I am Sabrine."
The blonde simply said hugging Luffy's right arm. However her declaration was completely ignored because of what Luffy said.
"The pirate king? And you want me to join your crew? Fuck you, I don't wanna be a criminal!"
In response to her relatively rough answer Luffy and Sabrine looked at one side to another, noticing some more marines joining around, but all of them trembling as they saw Morgan on his knees. None of them dared to approach. The captain himself had his face full of veins almost bursting from rage, but Luffy deprivated him of even screaming.
"Are you sure you have much of a choice at this point?"
Sabrine couldn't help but ask having to hold her laughter, to which Zora could only grit her teeth knowing the blonde wasn't incorrect. Stopping her laughter Sabrine looked at the green haired woman with a small smile on her lips.
"Let's do it like this. We heard you are a swordswoman, right. Where are your swords?"
The blonde asked looking around like she was looking for the swords.
"Those assholes took them. The idiot there must know where they are." Zora said angrily looking at the scared boy in the corner, that seemed to have pissed himself.
Sabrine smile got a little wider and Luffy rubbed his chin.
"I see." He turn his head to the blonde boy on the floor that looked at him as if he was the most terrifying monster he has ever seen. Luffy extends his left arm in his direction and the arm turns into a bolt of lightning that goes until the boy, and creating a field of electromagnetism that allowed him to grab him llike he was using his normal arm.
Pulling the scared blonde closer, and noticing that if he was older he would probably already died of a heart attack.
"Hey, where are my crewmate's swords!"
He demanded putting his right hand around the boy's neck, and ignored Zora's complaining about not being his crewmate.
"I-i-i-in m-m-my r-room!"
Looking like he used all his strenght to just said those words, he also pointed out to a window in the base that they all could see from there.
In the next second there was a strong light that blinded all those in the square, except for Sabrine that closed her eyes knowing what would happen. When they manage to open their eyes again Luffy was standing there with three swords in his arms and the boy on the floor.
"You... the fuck are you?" With the most shocked expression Zora ever showed in her life she looked at Luffy he was something that came from another world.
"I ate the Goro Goro no Mi, I am a lightning human." Explaining with a big smile his right hand turned into several bolts of lightning, making Zora even more shocked.
"So it wasn't just drunk talk... these things do exist..."
"You would be surprised with the amount of things that actually exist. Either way, now that we have yours swords, what do you plan on doing?" Sabrine's question took the swordswoman out of her surprise.
"You two don't..."
"Shishishi. Your idea of not being a criminal seems kinda useless now, right? Doesn't matter what happens, you will probably be wanted from now one. Also, I have your swords, if you want them back you have to join my crew."
The big smile on his face didn't made seem like he was blackmailing someone. Zora looked at him, for some seconds she looked lost in his smile until she also gave her own daring smile.
"You must be the son of the devil." She didn't notice the slight change of expression on Sabrine's face when she said that. "Okay, give me my swords, I will join your crew."
The straw and top hats users looked at each other with triumphant expressions.
"So these three swords are yours? Cool!" As he said that, Luffy put the swords in each one of Zora's hands, and seeing her open her mouth he put the sword of white hilt on her mouth. In one move she took the scabbards out of her swords and cut the ropes that were keeping her on that stake.
Then she looked at Luffy and put the tip of the sword on his neck, a small and harmless bolt of lightning beign created because of this. Sabrine put her hand on the steel pipe on her back but Luffy made a motion for her to stop.
"I will join you crew. However, I will be the best swordswoman in the world, and if you get in my way, I will kill you!"
She wasn't sure about what their reaction would be, but Luffy and Sabrine's eyes shining for sure wasn't what she was expecting.
"That's great. If my first new crewmate wasn't something at least of this level, as the pirate king I would be embarassed."
Luffy proudly said looking content at Zora with crossed arms.
"You truly seem to be perfect for this crew." Sabrine said much happier than she obviously was a moment ago.
Zora couldn't help but contemplate, not noticing the small smile she herself ended up gaving. It was hard to blame her though, since she basically the perfect people that she could ever fit with.
"I see, that's great then. So captain, what are your first orders?"
It was obviously what she meant as she said that looking at Morgan. During all this time he was still locked, not managing to move a single muscle. He looked so furious that it was remarkable that not a single vein on his forehead didn't explode.
"Do you wanna deal with him?" The captain asked looking at his first mate.
"Would be a pleasure captain."
The green haired swordswoman said with what could only be called a demoniac expression. With a snap of his fingers the lightning around Morgan finally disappeared.
"YOU FUCKING SCUM! I WI-"
Zora appeared behind him putting her swords on their respective scabbards as a clean cut started forming on Morgan's head as if fell on the floor, followed by a burst of his blood spilling everywhere out of his decapitated neck. It splashed on Morgan's body, that fell on the ground, the ground itself, Zora's back and Luffy and Sabrine.
The boy had a long ago fallen unconscious and no one else paid attention to him, and as the tree bloodied pirates looked at the other marines, none of them wanted to fight. Actually, it seemed like the opposite.
"WE ARE FINALLY FREE!"
"MORGAN IS DEAD!"
And other screams with that logic happened all around the square. Luffy, Zora and Sabrine looked at each other, with half understanding half curious expressions.
"Guess not even them liked the captain." Sabrine said yawning, since she had nothing to do this all a little boring for her.
Then Luffy and Zora's stomach made a sound that could be confused with a earthquake, and scared all the marines.
"I am hungry!" Both said at the same time, with amazing synchronny.
...
After they basically gave the same restaurant they went before, enough money for them to probably never have to work for the rest of their lifes, saw as Coby joined the marines and were salutated by those same marines as they went away, the trio at least had an interesting story to tell.
"So, what exactly is the relation between the two of you?"
Now on the boat in the middle of the ocean and with Shells Town being a distant line on the horizon, Zora asked as she inclined her body on one part of the boat. Luffy and Sabrine were on the other side of the boat, hugging each other.
"I am his girlfriend, and vice-captain." She proudly said leaning on Luffy's body, that patted her head in response.
"I see. I suppose he is the muscles and you the brain."
"Shishishi, not exactly but kinda."
Luffy didn't elaborate further, making Zora raise an eyebrow but she didn't pursue the matter further.
"You seem to have a lot of questions." Sabrine said noticing that Zora still seemed curious with other things.
"Yeah, some. But first, what's next captain?"
Yes, Sabrine is Sabo genderbended, no they are not brother and sister. Ace and Luffy did the "sake pact", and Ace and Sabrine also did it, but never Luffy and Sabrine. That's pretty much it. This chapter is kinda short even for what I plan for this story, but I aim to have around 4 to 5k words to each chapter of this fic, sometimes more and sometimes less. I will try to post it once fifteen days, but no promises. Well, thanks for reading, please follow, favorite and review.
