Chapter 14

Morso led the trio to a closet. He then grabbed some sort of spray chemical, but pulled it down, revealing it to be a lever. Then, the wall turned slowly, revealing a hidden path made of dirt.

"We have to go to my burrow. It's safe from Dark Impulse enchantments." said Morso.

"Great. We're talking to a stuffed animal." said Destiny, hugging herself.

"Matt, do you have Bubbles with you?" asked Tyrone.

Matt nodded and put his hands in his pockets. He then felt his hoodie and looked everywhere.

"No." said Tyrone.

"I must have dropped him while we're being chased by the things," said Matt.

"No, you must have dropped him when you were chasing… this thing here!" cried Tyrone.

"Relax guys. I have him." said Destiny, pulling her hand out to reveal Bubbles. He looked slightly pissed off. Tyrone and Matt chuckled and awkwardly smiled.

"So you guys are going to see the Groke on the mountain? That's way off." said Morso.

"Yes. But we need weapons. I can hook us up in Washington Square and…" Destiny was saying.

"You'll be wasting a lot of precious time. It's best to go straight to Mt. Hood from here on in." said Morso.

"Who are you and why are you willing to help us?" asked Tyrone suspiciously.

"I thought this winter was suspicious. I should have known this was a curse. Anyway, I'll tell you why I'm helping you. But first, let's get a little snack." Morso said.

He led them all to a small and cozy living room at the end of the hallway. There was a fireplace, a TV lined with DVDS and Blurays, a PS4, a Nintendo Switch and piles of cheese.

"You live here?!" cried Matt excitedly.

"Yep. I live here in secret. So don't tell. Please." said Morso.

"What is this place?" asked Destiny.

"My home….. For now." said Morso as he pulled out some cheese.

"What cheese do you kids like? I got all kinds of goodies here." said Morso.

"Pizza for me!" cried Matt.

Morso handed Matt a plate with a pepperoni pizza on it.

"Hope you like it!" said Morso

Destiny sat down and pressed Morso for more information. "Please Morso, you need to tell us. What do we need to defend ourselves with? Do you know what is going on exactly? The three of us are in the dark." she said, losing her patience. And for good reason. They had to deal with shadows not too long ago.

"I thought you guys knew what you were up against. And what was the Mothman thinking of sending kids like you on this adventure anyway? You guys have no weapons and no knowledge of impulse powers. The Sword Warriors are better suited for this job, but those snotty kids are so delicate nowadays." said Morso.

"I don't know. He believes in us. I guess." said Tyrone, not sounding so sure as he thought he was.

Matt tried to speak, but his mouth was full of pizza. Morso laughed and patted Matt. "I understood you. You guys have handled stuff like this before. But not her. No wonder she's angry right now." said Morso.

"I'm not angry. I'm just frustrated. I thought I could help out, but I feel like I failed my friends. If we can't get anything to defend ourselves…" said Destiny.

"It's okay Destiny. I'm sure Morso here knows something. Our salt can do the trick against monsters like the shadows, but I have a gut feeling Morso might know more than what he's willing to let on." said Tyrone.

"I do. You see guys, I used to be a trainer for the Sword Warriors back home. I've got a small inventory of weapons. Let me grab them." Morso stood up and quickly pulled out a large scroll from the other side of the cozy room. He put it down with the help of Matt and they quickly unrolled it to reveal a massive collection of swords, daggers and vials with weird and glowing substances.

"You guys should thank me. That would be five hundred dollars." said Morso.

"How about a hug?" asked Matt.

"How nice!" cried Morso as Matt hugged him tenderly.

Destiny and Tyrone smiled at the cute sight and they observed what they had in front of them.

"I got dibs on that one right there." said Tyrone.

"Which one? They all look the same." said Destiny, looking over the swords and daggers.

"They look plain, I admit. But once you hold them, and they become a part of you, the swords will transform into what battle style you guys are into." said Morso.

"That's the thing. I don't have a style." said Tyrone.

"Neither do I. I'll just grab the daggers." said Destiny.

"Careful. Once you choose a weapon, it will be yours for life. I don't think daggers suit you." said Morso.

"Trust me, it wouldn't hurt to have something purse sized in case of an attack." said Destiny.

"I got pepper spray too. You want some?" asked Morso.

"You got anything stronger? Like taser guns or something?" asked Destiny.

"Taser what now? Are you sure about that?" asked Morso.

"Trust me. I need them." said Destiny with a lot of assurance.

Tyrone and Matt exchanged looks and shrugged. They haven't seen her this serious about something like this before. Morso nodded and pulled out two different taser guns.

"I got pink and yellow." he said with a toothy grin.

….

Violet stood outside the factory, feeling the snow in her toes. She was no longer wearing any clothes. She was stark naked, standing there. This was her true self. She LOVED the feeling of cold snow in her delicate, yet powerful skin. Violet then floated up into the sky and laughed.

"Eternity is very close for me. I will soon have what men and women alike desire." she said to herself as she vanished into a dark vortex.
