Chapter 16
Destiny went into the dining hall of the cheese factory to see Morso give everyone some breakfast.
"You guys are up early." said Destiny, trying her best to smile. She wasn't in the mood to smile, but she felt like she needed to put the effort in for her friends.
"Morning. You slept well?" asked Tyrone.
"Sort of." said Destiny.
"I know. Tyrone's bad breath kept me up all night!" teased Matt.
"And your breath smells like tacos and Jarritos!" said Tyrone.
"Take that back you lumberjack!" said Matt.
"Make me you small side of fries!" said Tyrone.
The boys started to play with their food and Morso scolded them. "Now now, no playing! You all need to keep your strength up if we are going to Mt. Hood today!" said Tyrone.
"It won't be too bad." said Tyrone.
"Too bad? Too bad? Oh no fool, no! We are not going to the Snow Bunny! We are going high into the mountain. High up! Meaning we will have to keep climbing up until we reach the Groke." said Morso.
"How high does she live in the mountain?" asked Matt.
"Very high up! So high in fact, that even the clouds touch it's very peak!" exclaimed Morso theatrically.
"All the more reason to hurry." said Destiny.
"You need to eat up little lady! Dig in!" said Morso, handing Destiny a plate with very large portions.
"I need to eat all this?" asked Destiny.
"Yep. It's for your own survival. The Sword Warriors rarely get three square meals a day. They sometimes eat only once in the day, or skip meals all together. There is no time to eat when you are battling the Wendigos, Goblins and monsters living on the dark side of Rood Bridge Park." said Morso.
"There's a dark side to Rood Bridge Park?" asked Matt while eating a mouthful of fries.
"Yes there is. It is a forbidden area that no self respecting villager would ever dare to go." said Morso.
"What lives there?" asked Tyrone.
"Monsters. Wendigos, Goblins, Vampires, giant man eating worms, and giant bugs." said Morso.
"Vampires?" asked Destiny.
"Oh yeah! They drink blood! Drinking blood, or even touching another's blood goes against Rood Bridge Park law! In fact, eating anybody is a crime!" said Morso.
"That's no different from our world." said Tyrone.
"Except that we are dealing with magic and stuff like that." said Matt.
"Our world is NOT like yours, this I can tell you. Our hidden world thrives under the good laws of people. We are ruled by a good Queen." said Morso.
"The woman kidnapping children. In what category would she fall on?" asked Destiny.
Morso bit his lip and spoke. "I think we are dealing with a Grim Reaper."
"A what now?" asked Matt.
"A Grim Reaper. Those creeps worship Death itself and they would do anything to stay young forever." said Morso.
"I thought there was one Muerte." said Matt.
"In your country, La Catrina, is considered one of the good reapers, whom they see a balanced view on life and death. The Bad Grim Reapers are simply known as such and only few remain. Viscount Brion tried to become one in the past, but failed. He saw to it that they were to be killed off." said Morso.
"Brion?" asked Matt.
"He was involved with them?" asked Tyrone.
"Morso, if this person is a Grim Reaper, then this means she can't die?" asked Destiny.
"She can die, but only if something powerful and good like a Sword Warriror sword can stop her. There really isn't anything else." said Morso.
"But Grim Reapers can die. "Said Matt.
"They can." nodded Morso.
"Guys, this changes so many things! We are dealing with a powerful entity here!" cried Destiny.
"Still, why is she kidnapping kids?" asked Tyrone.
"I told you guys. Perhaps she is trying to take their youth. Grim Reapers are obsessed with beauty and skin care and all that crap. It's possible she's doing this to make herself hotter than the sexy skinny cow from the cheese I like so much." said Morso.
Matt laughed, but Tyrone and Destiny's faces were pale. He then turned to her with a nervous chuckle.
"And to think, you wanted to use cheap weapons on her." he said.
Destiny shook her head nervously. "I don't know what I was thinking."
"It's okay guys. You already chose your weapons to face the lady. Right now, we need to get to Mt. Hood." said Morso.
"You're coming with us?" asked Matt.
"Please! I've been out of action for a while. Plus, the Groke and I go way back." said Morso.
"Okay, that settles it." said Matt.
Destiny looked out the window and saw how heavy the snow fall was. She let out a sigh and put her arms around her.
"We need to be careful. This snow is giving me such an eerie feeling." said Destiny.
"That's because it's Dark Impulse." said Morso.
Tyrone and Matt were too familiar with that phrase. Dark Impulse. A negative and evil form of energy found in Rood Bridge Park. An evil that has affected them for a while now. It was close to separating the boys for good not too long ago. Now it's back, in the form of an innocent looking snowfall.
Tyrone felt his hands tighten. He was feeling very nervous.
