Spoilers for SVU S23x14 (Trevor's charity event) but written BEFORE seeing the episode.
Summary: Trevor Langan always seem to know Olivia more than she thinks.
Feedback: I always love to have feedbacks on my work so I can improve my writing. Any advice, constructive comments and suggestions are welcomed.
Notes: I had this idea in my mind since I learned that Trevor would ask Olivia to go with him at a charity event, and that she will go with him in tonight's episode! I had to write this fast before the episode actually aired haha
Enjoy and please review!
On Hold

Olivia stood in her heel on the pavement. The night was chilly, her breath leaving a small fog when she exhaled. She was looking straight ahead, to the door, still unsure if she'd finally raise her hand to knock.
She had had a lovely night, enjoying the cocktails and the music at Trevor's charity event. He had surprised her with his shy invitation, a week before. But with all they had been through together, with Noah, she couldn't say no. So they went to the event. Together. Trevor was a charming gentleman, a really good man (and he looked great in a tux too!). Their conversation had been flowing throughout the night and he had made her forget about the last few weeks of chaos at work. It had been a really great night.
And then he had asked her to dance. As they swayed close to each other, Olivia couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt in her belly. Even though she was attracted to him, she couldn't have helped but wish he was someone else. And the guilt had expanded, for both of the men she had been thinking about. It wasn't fair to Trevor. And it wasn't fair to a certain detective who she felt she was betraying by dancing with another man. It was silly, of course, considering the state of her friendship-for-now with Elliot .
Still, she had felt weird about dancing with someone else. That's when she knew she was in trouble. That her feelings for Elliot were taking over her heart. Taking it back, she should say, because those feelings were not unfamiliar to her. They had been there almost 25 years. She had managed to put them away and make room for feelings for other men during his absence. And she really thought she had put them at bay for good. But now she had to realize that they were back, reinstalling themselves in her chest, as if they were coming home.
Trevor had noticed her discomfort and after a few dances had proposed to drive her home. Sitting in his car, outside of her apartment building, Olivia had hesitated about what to do. Trevor didn't ask for anything more, but she felt the night should have continued upstairs, if this was a "normal" date.
"I had a lovely time tonight, Olivia." Trevor offered.
"Me too. Thanks for inviting me." She hesitated, not getting out of the car, and not making a move either.
"If I'm being totally honest, I'd want to do this again. With you." He said without actually formulating a question. He watched her reaction instead.
"Oh…I…" she couldn't form the words properly. A year ago, she would have said yes without a beat. But now, something held her back.
"It's okay." He smiled.
"It's not that I'm not interested…I just…" she was lost.
"No worries." He reassured her. Olivia looked at him with an apologizing expression.
"Are you going to tell him?" he asked gently.
Olivia frowned.
"Tell who, what?"
How could he know? Langan smiled again.
"Tell Stabler you're in love with him." He laid out, stunning Olivia.
She was frozen in her seat. Hearing the words out loud like this, it made her panic. She didn't even allow herself to *think* those words. How could he say them so casually? Trevor looked resigned, but also caring. He wanted her to be happy, even though he couldn't be there for that. Under his intense gaze, Olivia couldn't lie anymore.
"It's…it's complicated." She settled for.
Langan nodded, accepting her answer.
"Just don't wait too long. (Second chance at happiness rarely comes twice in a lifetime.)" he paused and then let a small laugh out. "Actually, you've waited long enough."
And that's when she realized he knew even back then. Even when she didn't.
After getting out of his car, Olivia hadn't entered her building. She had felt the urge to get some answers. She had turned back to the road and hailed a cab.
