Chapter 19

Matt felt queasy and his stomach was beginning to make knots. They were heading for Hillsboro. Hillsboro! The town where it all began. It was the town where he lost Marcos. Where he lost the only world he knew. Matt bit his lip with each passing step Bubbles was taking to head to town. However, he tried to focus on his surroundings. North Planes was very open and spacious. There were hardly any houses. There were farms with fields and wide open areas. The snow made it so beautiful and majestic. It was like entering a totally different world. Matt tried to relax by looking at the snow. But it was too much for him to handle. He hugged Tyrone very tightly, hoping not to let him go.

Destiny pulled out her phone and started to take pictures. "Look everyone! Look how beautiful the North Planes is!" she cried out with joy. It was rare to see Destiny get excited. She was mostly calm and collected. Tyrone on the other hand was smiling, yet feeling his ribs were locked up by Matt's arms.

Morso, who was sitting behind Matt, nodded slightly and was picking his nose. "It's nice I guess. Don't forget this snow is a curse. Like totally." he said.

"It looks nice to me." said Tyrone, hoping to be in common ground with Destiny.

"Bubbles, how are you holding up?" asked Destiny.

Bubbles made some clicking sounds, but of course no one would understand him. Except for Morso.

"He says he wants to take a break." said Morso.

"A break? Where?" asked Matt suddenly.

"Perhaps in Hillsboro. He says there's a McDonalds there." said Morso.

"Right. As if Bubbles can eat Mcflurries and fries." said Tyrone with a chuckle.

Bubbles made some chirps and Morso laughed. "Yes. That's what he had in mind. A Mcflurry."

"I didn't know Hermit Crabs liked Mcflurrys." said Tyrone laughing.

"Well, I guess we can spare a few minutes." said Destiny.

Bubbles arrived at the McDonalds in Hillsboro. It was one that was located in front of a Grocery Outlet, close to Downtown Hillsboro. Bubbles quickly shrunk back to his regular small size. The problem was that the McDonalds was closed.

"How are we going to get in?" asked Tyrone.

"I could break a window with my foot, but the draft can get in." said Destiny.

Tyrone looked at her and Destiny shrugged. "What? I know Kung Fu." said Destiny.

"Not to worry everyone. I got skeleton keys in my fuzzy pocket!" said Morso.

"Skeleton keys?" asked Matt.

"They allow me to open any door. I get to keep them cause I'm special!" said Morso.

"Special how?" asked Tyrone.

"I'm the trainer of Sword Warriors." said Morso with pride.

He laughed at his own joke while Tyrone and Destiny simply shrugged with a smile. Matt quietly held Bubbles in his hands and they entered the restaurant.

Tyrone and Matt sat down while Destiny and Morso went to the kitchen. "I can cook something up. I used to make hamburgers for my cousin a long time ago. I can do this." she said with a lot of confidence.

"Great! I'll have large fries, two apple pies, one Mcflurry, 20 piece chicken nuggets with barbecue sauce and a large coke." said Morso as he was about to leave. Destiny pulled his small tail and shook her head.

"Who said I was going to do this alone?" she said.

"You can't be serious." said Morso.

"I am. Now help me out." said Destiny patting Morso's head.

Morso grumbled and put his hands on deck, helping Destiny out.

Tyrone and Matt were both sitting down, but Tyrone knew that Matt was not enjoying this. He looked around the restaurant with sadness in his eyes and Tyrone handed him a tissue.

"Don't think about the past." he said softly.

Matt bit his lip and looked outside. It was so cold and snowy out. And the town looked so familiar. So damn familiar to Matt. He stood up and he held his arms together.

"I know he's out there. I just know it." he said in a whisper.

"Matt?" asked Tyrone nervously.

"I'm sorry! I can't!" cried Matt. He then did the unthinkable. He ran towards the door and ran out into the night.

"MATT!" cried Tyrone. Destiny and Morso stopped what they were doing and looked at Tyrone, crying from the door.

"COME BACK! MATT!" he cried with all his might. But Matt was gone. He ran far away into the darkness of the night.
