If you are seeing this, it is an updated version of this chapter. Also I just wanted to do something. Also when I refer to myself as Grace Bailey or just Grace, it is because that is my pseudonym.

Disclaimer:

Grace: Do I own PJO, HOO, or TOA?

Percy: No.

Grace: Who does own PJO, HOO, and TOA?

Percy: Rick Riordan.

Grace: And why does he own PJO, HOO, and TOA?

Percy: Because he is the god of trolls and wanted to.

Grace: Percy, that's n-

Percy: *running around me in circles* yes he is! He does not own me!

Grace: *facepalm* ugh, lets just get on with the story, before he decides to fight me.

~Flashback~

It was December 15th, 2009, I had just gotten out of bed to get a drink of water. I live in a two story house, my room and my parents are on the second floor.

I opened my door and walked down the hallway past my parents bedroom. For a five year old I was pretty smart, I made sure I did not make the wooden floor boards creak. I looked in my parents room, the light was off and they were asleep.

"Phew," I breathed out. You see my dad was ok but not the best. I mean he never got drunk or anything, but at night if I was up even to get a drink of water he would yell if he saw me. The only exceptions were on the weekend and on breaks.

My friends Noah, Yali, and Lucas were over for a sleepover. Yeah it was a school night since it was a Thursday, but this weekend we were all going to Disney together. They were all asleep.

As I walked down the stairs, I heard a creak. I knew it was not me because I was careful.

I sigh as I say in a hushed tone "Seriously guys? All of you come out." My friends poked their heads out from behind the wall that separated the stairway from the hall.

"Oh come on Grace, we were thirsty," Noah says. "Be quiet! My dad will freak out if he finds us up!" "Oh sorry," He replies with his trouble maker grin.

"Come on guys, let's just get a drink of water then go back to bed. Plus I for one don't wanna get chewed out by Grace's dad. I know she does not either." Yali always had my back. With that they just stood straight and started walking past us two quietly.

"How do you do that?" I asked, " Well honestly when I want them to do something, I just tell them to and they just do it no questions asked. It's weird but it's also useful." "True, now lets go before they break something." "I can definitely agree with that one, Grace."

"Darn it the faucet is not working, we'll have to go outside and turn the water on!" I exclaimed.

"You sure Grace?" asked Noah.

"Yeah I'm sure Noah, plus there are four of us, the exact number." Grace replied.

"Ok, But now I'm confused." Lucas replied

"Yeah Me too!" Noah agreed

"Sorry but this time I'm with the guys. What do you mean, Grace?" Yali questioned.

"Ugh. Just grab a flashlight everyone and follow me."

"Ok I'm almost done here, how about you guys?" Grace asked.

"I'm almost done, the guys finished about a minute ago." Yali replied.

When I was done, Lucas stammered "G-girls I-I think we might wanna run.".

Before I turned around to look, I asked, "What are you talking about?" Then I turn around...and I see It.

I don't know what I saw at first. After I rub my eyes I analyze the situation. What I'm looking at is the Hydra from Greek mythology. I only know this because I'm obsessed with the myths. My dad always reads them to me before I go to bed. When Yali turns around she screams and so do I. We start running.

"HEY!" The boys scream. They sound surprised, most likely because they are NOT used to me and Yali running.

The boys are lucky they are fast runners, otherwise Yali and I would have closed the door on them.

Once we are all inside I quickly start running up the stairs to my parent's room. We could still hear the Hydra outside trying to get in. By the look on my friends faces I knew that they had figured out what it was.

As I enter my parent's room I turn the lights on and scream "MOMMY! DADDY!" This got them up real fast. "What's wrong?!"

For the first time in my life (not the last) I saw pure fear in my parents eyes.

"T-the Hydra is out-" I stuttered as I was cut off by the sound of the door breaking down.

My mom responded, "Let me guess you were out turning the water on when the Hydra snuck up on you?" We all nodded our heads in response.

She opened the dresser door, handed my dad a sword that looked like it was bronze, and got one for herself. "Kids, get your things as quickly as you can, then go to the car." my mom commanded. My father handed me the keys, I nodded my head. I knew something was wrong, but I also knew once we were clear of danger my parents would explain.

"Come on guys we've got to go." I said with fear. My friends and I quickly headed to my room and gathered important things.

I grabbed my teal Jansport backpack. I stuffed four pairs of clothes in the first pouch, my computer, tablet, phone, and bluetooth headphones in the other. I put my three books about greek myths in too. After that I got my blanket and my stuffed animal.

We were all packed and dressed. I had on a tank top with a teal violin on it, along with some jeans. I put my cozy wolf hoodie on next. Then I grabbed my violin and music book.

We headed down the stairs and I ushered my friends through the front door. I risked a look back at the kitchen only to see my parents fighting for their lives with the Hydra.

I popped the trunk where we put our backpacks in. I started the car, then we all got in the back four seats of the Tahoe. Yali and I moved into the seats behind where my mom and dad usually sit. The boys were behind us; silent... most likely from fear.

About thirty minutes later my parents got in the car and we sped off. As we were escaping, they explained everything, and I mean EVERYTHING.

So apparently my friends and I were what my parents called Half-Bloods. My mom was too. What I understood was this:

My mom was a daughter of Zeus, king of the gods, my dad was a mortal who could see through the mist (whatever that was) but my dad was not my biological father! My real dad is Poseidon, king of the seas.

This is what I gathered about my friends:

Yali's dad was also a mortal who could see through the mist, her mom was Aphrodite (not much to anyone's surprise).

Lucas's dad was Zeus king of the gods. His mom, again, could see through the mist. So great. My BFF just happened to be my uncle, oh joy. Long story short, Lucas and I decided to forget about that as much as we could.

Sadly for Noah, unlike us, his mom could not see through the mist. Noah's mom had adopted him and his dad was Apollo, god of the sun.

When we arrived at camp, which my parents explained was the place where demigods like us go to train, we were all amazed.

Now I would give you the details on how the place looks, but that would take about five days, so I've decided not to waste your time.

When we got to camp I said goodbye to my dad; apparently mortals are not allowed into camp unless it is an emergency and even then a demigod has to let them in. My mom escorted us to the place that she said was the big house, which made sense, since, well, it is a big house.

That night we all get claimed. Here is how:

While we were at the camp singing along at the bonfire, all of a sudden everything went silent.

I looked around and realized why I had a trident made from water above my head, along with a smaller lightning bolt next to it. I wanted to touch it but decided not to, seeing as I did not want to get electrocuted. I looked at my hair. It had teal streaks in it; I stared at them in shock. I mean I had always wanted teal streaks in my hair but my parents had always said no. I even had a white tunic that went down to my ankles and at the waist was a silver braided belt. On my arm was a silver trinket, much like my belt, and it covered the middle of my bicep. In the center of the bicep trinket, was a trident just like the one above my head. I even had silver sandals on my feet.

Yali had light pink streaks in her hair, which looked lovely with her dark brown hair and creamy brown complexion. She also had a pink dove above her head like my trident. She had a tunic similar to mine, except hers was gold instead of silver and her arm trinket had a dove in the center. Suddenly, I realized that we also had gold and silver laurel leaves on our heads.

Lucas had on a blue tux that looked like the stormy sky. I was honestly surprised he was not getting electrocuted. He had a bigger version of the lightning bolt over his head.

Noah had on a red tux that looked like it was on fire, LITERALLY ON fire. He had a red bow and arrow over his head.

The whole camp was shocked. Since our parents had not told Chiron about our godly heritage, he only knew I was powerful because he knew my mom. He bowed and said "Hail Lucas Johnson son of Zeus, Noah Smith son of Apollo, Yalianna Rodriguez daughter of Aphrodite, and Grace Bailey daughter of Poseidon granddaughter of Zeus. The whole camp followed his example and bowed.

Later that night after the bonfire Chiron took us to our respective cabins. Since we were so young we were scared. We stayed there for about a year or two, happy and carefree. Then our powers started to surface once we turned seven. Noah could control fire. Lucas could control the wind and lightning. Apparently Yali's power was charmspeak, which is why whenever she told someone to do something they always listened.

For me it was scary because all of the sudden I could control water and people. I was also able to talk to horses and pegasi. Later on during my time at camp, I found out I could turn into a wolf and my friends could too. This was a benefit of my feeling like they are family. However, that freaked me out especially since Chiron told me that all of this wasn't even half of my potential.

So on May 18th, 2011, at 12:00pm, a week after our powers surfaced, I got on Raven, Pegasus' daughter and my best friend since I was six, and ran away. I ran all the way from NewYork to Ohio.

I deleted all my contacts from my phone and got a new email. I started to go to school. I've been living in the forests since then, with Raven. It's been ten years since we ran away. Tomorrow is May 18th and I'm scared because every year on this date, something goes wrong and I have to change schools. That started in 2013; I have no idea why it just does. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow!
