Chapter 3:
It had been a long day, hell a long week, but Levi was finally up to date on his paperwork. He pulled a few all-nighters, but it paid off because he caught up on everything he missed the month that he was away.
The weather has been a little bit unpredictable lately, it would be a typhoon one day, and then snow the following day. This gave the soldiers a chance to have a bit of downtime before an impending mission. Hange was in the middle of planning the reconnaissance mission that would take place in a few weeks, but figured the soldiers should get some relaxation in. They could start prepping for it in a few days.
Levi was in his room sitting in a chair reading a book while drinking some tea as per usual. He was tired from being awake twenty-four-seven, but couldn't waste the day away sleeping since it would mess up his schedule.
Knock.
"Not here."
"Come on Levi, I promise this isn't about titans!" Hange pleaded through the door.
"Four-eyes I'm really not in the mood." he sighed, but could hear the creaking of his door opening anyways. How stupid of him to not lock the door when that crazy titan freak was always lurking around. "Really Hange what happened to us soldiers having alone time."
"I said down time, not alone time." she chuckled, and took a seat on his bed.
"Same shit."
"You look like you haven't slept in a week."
"Sounds about right" he almost rolled his eyes, but put down the book he was reading, "Seriously what do you wa-"
BANG.
There was a huge crashing noise that sounded like it was coming from down the hallway. It caused both Hange, and Levi to pause and look towards the door.
"Jesus why is there so much banging around here lately." Levi complained.
"It was probably Slip, I saw her on a ladder with a bucket of water cleaning something, not sure why they'd let her anywhere near a ladder." she pondered.
"How does a clumsy brat like that end up getting accepted into the Survey Corps."
"We really needed an equipment manager, and even though she's clumsy, she is really good at fixing things, especially 3DM gear." explained Hange.
"They couldn't find some other shitty brat with a death wish? What about missions, isn't she a liability." He was concerned. It was hard enough having nimble perfectly trained soldiers to worry about, so the last thing they needed was a burden like that.
"Well yes, but she won't be in the front line, and she does have the same training as everyone else."
"So she can trip and fall right into a ugly titans mouth." spat Levi.
"I know it's not ideal Levi but we haven't had a lot of people signing up to be recruits lately."
"Tch"
It turned out Hange had come into his room to talk about titans after all, but at the very least it did have to do with the upcoming mission. They discussed some of the things that they needed to do before they headed out. It was mostly formation related, but there were meetings scheduled for next week to go over the plans more thoroughly.
Levi had gone down for lunch, and was headed back to his room when he noticed a package had been left at his door. He went inside, took a seat on his bed and began to untie the strings to open the package. It was a neatly folded white shirt. He unfolded it and lifted it up, and a little note fell out. He completely forgot about the girl from the stable, and his bloodstained shirt, but this shirt was different than the one she had taken. He could tell it was different by the colour of the stitching. He picked up the note to read it
Dear Captain Levi,
I did manage to get the blood stain out of your shirt. Unfortunately because of the crazy weather I had to dry it inside, and your shirt caught on fire. I hope the new shirt makes up for it.
Sincerely,
Ivy Andrews
Levi couldn't help but laugh. The thought of her getting the stain out, but it catching on fire was just too much. This brats luck or lack thereof was pure entertainment to the captain.
The new shirt was fine, and he didn't even expect that she was going to get the stains out in the first place, but he would have to thank her for the new shirt at the very least. Not to mention that was the first time he had laughed like that in a really long time. She was just a little walking wrecking ball of embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Eren and Armin were walking past the Captains room when they heard a deep belly laugh. It was almost disturbing to hear the Captains laugh especially when he was alone in his room.
"Hange was telling me that the Captain hasn't been sleeping lately." Armin whispered as they walked past.
"Yeah maybe it's finally starting to get to him" Eren shuttered.
