Azula held the small flame in her hand like a torch as she led the way through the underground tunnels of the palace. Ty Lee was right behind her, watching their back, hoping no one spotted them entering into the maze that lay before them.

Soon they would be free, free to live their lives together away from the scrutiny and laws of the Fire Nation.

Feeling a change in the temperature, Azula knew they were getting close to the dock where the unused ships sat. Closer to when she could happily live with Ty Lee, loving her every day.

Azula felt her every sense flood. Everything was too bright, too loud, she had a weird taste in her mouth, she felt the room spinning, and the thought of someone touching her made her freak out.

She knew Ty Lee was trying to calm her down but she couldn't make out the words. The taste in her mouth was getting stronger and more noticeable, she didn't like it.

"Water," she managed to say, gratefully accepting a cup from Ty Lee.

Opening her eyes, she tried to focus on Ty Lee. Ty Lee was safe, Ty Lee was there for her.

The only time Azula felt peace was when she was with Ty Lee. The quiet moments every morning were something she treasured. Hot cups of tea and an array of fruits and buns in the garden always made her smile.

Ty Lee always made her smile and today as she prepared breakfast for them, she thought back on her past and was grateful she was off the path her fourteen-year-old self was on.

"Good morning, my love," Ty Lee said, greeting Azula.

"Good morning," Azula replied, smiling when Ty Lee wrapped her arms around her waist.

"Breakfast is almost ready."

Azula never realised how much she loved slow days until recently. Getting to lie in bed, wrapped in Ty Lee's arms, just talking, always made her days better. When the rain poured down, creating a soft ambience inside of their small home, Azula knew she could walk around in her pyjamas all day if she wanted to.

"Here, my love, I made tea," Ty Lee said, handing her a warm mug as she sat up in bed.

"Come join me," Azula replied, patting the spot next to her.

"Of course," Ty Lee replied. "I love you."

"I love you, too."

It had taken Azula almost two years to get her bending under control. Now older, Azula was more calm, more collected, and she was going to nourish herself and not push herself beyond what she was capable of.

She valued her training with Ty Lee, together they were a team to be reckoned with, the perfect partners in crime.

Finishing up for the day, Azula smiled at Ty Lee and gratefully accepted the canteen of water, taking a drink.

"Your form is almost perfect, especially when you're dodging an attack," Ty Lee said, complimenting her.

"Yours is perfect, my love."
