Chapter 1:

"Got any Cod?"

"Go fish... Got any Halibut?"

"Go fish..."

Valerie raised her eyebrow at Sam and Tucker, "Are they seriously playing Go Fish while we are flying through the Ghost Zone in the Specter Speeder?"

Tucker nodded, keeping his hands on the steering wheel, and Sam smirked while turning to look at Valerie, "Want to join our resident Fentons?"

Valerie shook her head, "No, I just thought that they would be a little more combat ready and flying outside considering we are where a lot of their enemies... exist."

Tucker smirked, "Except we have an on board map only I can access based on the Infimap that lets us navigate away from the lairs of Danny's Enemies."

Sam waved at the back, "And Jazz is performing an experiment where she is examining their psyches to determine similarities and differences using the Fenton Board Game Arsenal."

Valerie blinked, "Their parents really love putting their name on everything don't they?"

Four of the teens in the futuristic ship rolled their eyes and said in unison, "You have no idea."

Valerie looked slightly weirded out by that unified answer and then looked back out at the Ghost Zone, "So what can this Frostbutt tell us about Dani?"

Danny sighed and glared at the girl, "Frostbite was given some of our DNA and it is all of our hope that some of his scientists will be able to tell us something of her creation."

Dani smiled and pointed at her eldest opponent, "Jazz is positive that I am not pure Danny from her psycho-babble."

Jazz glared at her over her cards, "It isn't psycho-babble."

Danny, Sam, and Tucker all fired back, "Yes it is."

Jazz rolled her eyes, "Got any Octopus?"

Danny handed the card over with a grumble, "Every time. Val, don't play games vs. her, you won't win. The only one in our family who has a chance against her is mom."

Valerie raised her eyebrow at Jazz with a joking smirk on her face, "Well... what has the good head doctor determined about her patients?"

Jazz shrugged, "I am not certain of my findings yet, that is why I am continuing the experiments, to figure out how much of their differences and similarities are due to essential nature, the manner of nurture, or level of experience tempering both."

Valerie gave her a confused look, "Manner of nurture?"

Dani shrugged, "All my information about the world came by way of some form of flash-learning given to me by Vlad while I was growing in one of his test tubes, side bonus is that I technically don't have to go to school."

Jazz wagged her finger at Dani, "I still think it would be good for you for the interaction and friend making side of things and as a way to keep your knowledge from getting rusty through disuse, and got any squid?"

Dani sighed and handed the card over, "Can the skills of ghosts even get rusty?"

Jazz grinned as she lay down her last pair, "I win."

Danny growled, "... The game queen strikes again, and yes they can. Just look at Johnny 13 and Shadow."

Dani gave him a confused look, "What do you mean?"

Danny growled slightly, "He was part of a gang in life, and when he first came to the ghost zone he was one of the most formidable hand-to-hand fighters, but he and Shadow are considered jokes when it comes to fist fighting due to the fact that usually Johnny is just riding around on his bike, flirting with girls, and fighting with Kitty."

Jazz shivered slightly, "Please don't remind me, and don't forget that you are still part human, and when humans don't consistently use certain skills or memories the associated pathways between neurons gets weaker and your ability to recall them can go away almost completely. It is actually one of the reasons why addiction is so bad for you, because you essentially only reinforce and strengthen neural pathways associated with self-destructive behavior, and everything else falls by the wayside."

Valerie whistled, "... Impressive, when you guys invited me to come to the Ghost Zone I wasn't expecting a neuro-chemistry lecture to be part of the tour."

The other teens snickered and Jazz glared them, "It was not a neuro-chemistry lecture."

They all replied back, "Yes it was."

Jazz glare roved over all of them, and she stopped on Danny in particular, "My psychology has helped you before."

Danny grinned, "Doesn't mean your not a know-it-all."

Jazz growled at him, "Watch it, little brother."

Dani turned toward the front after she passed Jazz her leftover cards, "Are we there yet?"

Tucker grinned and pointed out the window, "See for yourself."

Dani grinned, "Wow, I haven't seen that much snow since I flew up Everest."

Valerie gave her an incredulous smile, "You flew up Everest!?"

Dani nodded, "Yup! I have been to a lot of famous land marks."

Valerie then paused, "Wait, you didn't come with Danny when he dropped off your DNA to this Frostbit?"

Danny sighed, "Frostbite, Val, Frostbite, and no. He actually came to me to tell me about something strange that happened with the Infimap and Vlad and asked him to do it then and gave him the samples. I also gave him samples from Sam, Tucker, and Jazz so he could make sure that, if there was ectoplasm in them, they weren't going to suffer an ill-effects from it."

Valerie paused, "Do you think maybe he should test me as well? I mean, I did get a pretty big dose of ectoplasm from Technus."

Tucker nodded as he brought the speeder in for a landing in a village filled with Yeti's, "It probably wouldn't hurt considering the sheer amount of Experimental Tech that the master of long-winded speeches put into your upgraded suit, especially of the nano-technological variety."

Valerie nodded and saw them all putting on warm coats while Dani and Danny transformed into their ghost form, "Should I call out my suit?"

Danny nodded, "Yeah, it is called the Far Frozen for a reason, and if your Suit can protect you from the vacuum of space, it can protect you from a little cold."

Valerie nodded to that, and in a flash of red-tinged light, her battle armor sprang to life around her, "Good point."

Danny opened the door to see the massive form of Frostbite on the other side, "Hey, Frostbite."

The Yeti Chieftain nodded with a grin, "It is good to see you and your human allies, Great One."

Danny smiled up at Frostbite, "It is good to see you as well. I brought some new faces with me this time."

Frostbite nodded, "As I can see, I am Frostbite, leader of the Far Frozen, and I welcome you to our cold and humble lands, allies of the Great One."

Jazz stepped up, "Hi, I am Danny's older sister."

Frostbite grinned, "Ah, yes, the sibling of the Great One, we have heard the tales of your early attempts to help the Great One."

Jazz glared at Danny, "What did you tell them?"

Danny held up his hands and backed away a little in the air, "I didn't tell them anything."

Frostbite chuckled, "We heard it from your targets rather than the one you ended up capturing. They found it amusing and we do not get much in the way of entertainment in the frozen wasteland that is our home."

Danny deadpanned, "They take their comedy where they can get it."

Frostbite grimaced, "Though I seem to remember that there wasn't a lot of laughing when I told you that."

Danny winced, and the others all looked intrigued, Sam saying, "We haven't heard this story it seems."

Danny sighed, "Jazz isn't the only one who inherited Dad's aim."

Frostbite smirked, "There were multiple injuries and he froze both me and an entire section of the bleachers in the stadium solid."

Tucker grinned, "And you call me bad luck?"

Danny rolled his eyes, "Aww shut up... Anyways, Frostbite, this is Valerie, otherwise known as the Red Huntress."

Frostbite grinned, "Greetings, we have heard tales of your cunning and skills, though to see you at the side of the Great One is..."

Valerie finished for him, "...Unexpected, but after figuring out a few things it was rather plain to see that I didn't give him the benefit of the doubt after our first encounter."

Frostbite nodded, "Learning from mistakes and knowing the true nature of your prey is the mark of a great hunter. You will go far in protecting your world from the ghosts that wish to do it harm."

Valerie smiled in surprise, "Thank you."

Frostbite grinned at her and then looked at the final member of the party, "And you must be the Great One's progeny, it is a pleasure to meet you at last."

Danny spoke up before she could, "Progeny? Did you find something?"

Frostbite shook his head, "So impatient, but does it matter? No matter what she still came from you despite the manner in which she was brought into the world."

Danny paused with a look on his face that was somewhere between confused, happy, and upset, "Well, yeah..."

Sam rolled her eyes and smacked the back of his head, "Think before you speak, oh clueless one."

Danny grumbled a bit under his breath but accepted the rebuke, and Dani giggled at Danny, "... Thank you for being eager, Danny."

Danny rubbed the back of his neck and smiled sheepishly at her, "Thanks for being understanding."

Dani turned back to Frostbite, "So, how much am I like Danny?"

Frostbite winced, "Only about half-similar, but for the exact details of that and the other thing you asked me to look into, we should probably go inside the lab and sit down."

The teens were all curious about the wince but decided to follow the ancient Ghost as he waved for them to follow him. For Valerie, Jazz, and Dani it was interesting to see the strange mix of tribal and technological "lifestyle" of the Yetis. It was completely unlike Earth where it seemed to almost always be one or the other.

Dani scratched her head as she looked around and asked, "How did you guys get so techy?"

Frostbite smiled, "We have gone to the human world many times, and since we used the Infimap to do it. We occasionally went to the future, other worlds, and alternate timelines. That is in fact why we were able to rebuild your family's Specter Speeder. Some our flight technology is based on later iterations of your Fenton Tech, or even more advanced things."

Danny blinked and voiced the thoughts of almost everyone there, "...That shouldn't surprise me but at the same time it kind of does."

Frostbite chuckled and opened the door to the Far Frozen Laboratories and Hospital Cave System, "Yes well, most of the real stories in your world about the various versions of Big Foot across the globe are about my tribe coming to visit."

The teens all shuffled in behind him, and Jazz asked, "Do you have any books related to psychology that you have picked up over your travels to other worlds or the future?"

Frostbite shook his head, "No, but some of my people have written their own books on the subject."

Valerie looked into a lab off to the side where they were experimenting with some sort of floating liquid metal, "Why can you bring tech back, but not books?"

Frostbite smiled and motioned them into some sort of lab room filled with strange equipment and computer banks surrounded by large chairs, "Because when my tribe was entrusted with the guardianship of the Infimap by Lord Clockwork, he gave us strict instructions regarding its use and how not to cause paradoxes or other nasty things while using it."

Danny's eyes widened in realization, "Physical things could be brought back for study, experimentation, and replication, but knowledge of the future is strictly prohibited and that includes books written in the future."

Frostbite nodded and sat down, motioning for them to do the same, "Among other things, yes. Now, which thing would you like to hear first?"

Danny looked at the others as they sat down and asked, "Can we do the thing about Dani first?"

Frostbite looked to the others, "Do you all agree to that?"

When they nodded he turned and pulled something up on the massive monitor behind him and then somehow pulled the display out of the screen and held it holographically up between them. It showed a hole bunch of equations and three sets of 46 lines put in groups of two. The set on Frostbite's left was colored green and the set on his right was colored purple with 23 of each being part of the set in the middle.

It took them a second to remember their biology lessons, but Danny's eyes widened, "So she is only half me?"

Frostbite nodded, "Before I tell you anything beyond that, would you like me to explain the reasons why Plasmius' cloning processes were failing?"

Jazz raised her eyebrow at him, "What does that have to do with what is on the screen?"

Frostbite simply replied, "Everything."

Everyone was a little confused, but Danny is the one who said, "Okay...?"

Frostbite held up his ice arm and gestured with it, "What you see before you is probably a later iteration of Vlad's cloning techniques. The reason why I say that is because for her it actually isn't cloning in the true sense of the word despite some of the processes being similar.

"Most likely, his earliest clone he tried for true cloning, but there is a big issue which he could not overcome. You, Great One, are not just a human, but you are also an ectoplasmic entity. Any attempt to outright clone ectoplasmic entities always ends in failure unless it is done by way of the duplication power. The reason being that an ectoplasmic signature is a result of a soul inhabiting ectoplasm and duplicate souls will always fail to exist properly and will result in mutations in the ectoplasmic structure that will ultimately result in the new entity turning into a pile of goo. Also the duplication power is essentially just giving a shadow some ectoplasm and a connection back to the main body, if you didn't know that."

Danny's eye twitched, "That last bit would have been so helpful to know about a whole lot earlier."

Frostbite grinned, "To be fair, most ghosts either can't duplicate at all, or their first attempts were horrific even by the Ghost Zone's standards."

Danny sighed, "Good to know it isn't just a halfa problem."

Frostbite nodded, "Indeed. Anyways, most likely his next few attempts probably ranged from removing the ectoplasm from your DNA and just cloning you as a human before reinserting the ectoplasm at a later date, to cloning just your ghost half, or even trying to mix his own genetic material and ectoplasm into them.

"This is all hypothetically speaking, because I don't have access to his files to determine the truth of the matter, but she was arguably his first success due to the fact that her conception was more natural than the others. His method of creating her was by way of In-Vitro Fertilization using two different sets of DNA, one from a male and one from a female, resulting in the creation of a totally new soul."

Sam asked, "What were the two sets of DNA, and why was she still melting?"

Frostbite sighed, "I'll answer the second part of your question first, and the problem there was the accelerated aging process. A soul less than a year old in the body of an almost 9 year old ghost-child will cause issues and be unstable thus affecting the ectoplasm. Her body had more power than her young soul could reasonably hold together and thus was breaking down. The Ecto-Dejecto permanently strengthened her soul and its connection to her body so that she is now holding together properly."

Jazz nodded, "Interesting, so does that mean the theories of life beginning at conception and that a new soul being born from combining bits of its parents souls together are true?"

Frostbite smiled, "You are correct, sister of the Great One, if you define life as possessing a soul. Also, would you mind at some point bring me some of that Ecto-Dejecto so I can study it. It might be of great use as a medicine if we can work some of the kinks out of it."

Danny smiled, "We'll do that."

Frostbite bowed slightly to him, "Thank you, Great One."

Jazz grinned, but there was something off about it, "Now, are you going to quit stalling and tell us who her mother is, or do we have to guess?"

Frostbite grimaced, "I was hoping you didn't catch that until after I told you about the effects that ectoplasm is having on your body."

Sam growled, "Then answer that this way and get to telling us who Dani's mother is, is it dangerous to us, and what can we expect from it?"

Frostbite winced, "No it is not, and it will result in you becoming a ghost after death and there is a chance you will start developing powers in life, provided the proper stimulus is applied. As for who the mother is... I am not entirely sure you are ready to hear it."

The whole group shouted at him at the same time, "JUST TELL US!"

Frostbite shied back in his chair a bit from the volume of the shout and then sighed, "... Danielle Phantom's mother is Sam of the very Vegan."

The whole group just stared at him for a second, then Danny turned to look at Sam and Dani, and very intelligently said, "Uhh!?"
