At the end of class, Rae tries to be the first one out the door but Finn's standing beside her desk looking at her with a half-smile. His face is kinder than it was at his place, body more relaxed. He's in a white t-shirt, sleeves cuffed, and jeans that shouldn't look that good on anyone. Rae's disgusted with herself for a moment, worried she's bloody salivating in front of him.

"Hiya." She offers with a tight smile as she stands from her desk.

He just stands there a moment, not saying or doing anything. Not wanting to be a weirdo Rae nods at him and starts heading out the classroom. Finn follows, delayed at first, but by the time the two are out of the building their walking in step.

"So…" Rae finally adds after some more silence.

"Thanks," Finn says, "for before."

"Course."

They share a nod and fall back into their silent walk. Since Rae doesn't have another class for a few hours she doesn't mind walking blindly but Finn doesn't seem to be walking with much direction either. It's not until they end up at the gazebo in the middle of campus, surrounded by violets and daisies that Rae decides to interrupt their silence.

"Where ya headed anyway?"

"Was gon' walk you where you was headed." Finn shrugs.

"Not headed anywhere. Next class is at three."

"I'm done for the day."

The pair glance over at the gazebo and then shake their heads and continue walking. It's a quiet walk, but a nice one. Rae's lookin' round at all the trees and plants, seeing spots of the campus she hadn't had the chance to explore during orientation.

Rae should probably try to make conversation but Finn doesn't seem the small talk type. A few of the people they cross paths with wave at or try to talk to Finn and he just nods and continues on. Could be seen as rude but after what happened in the classroom, those girls circling him like vultures and asking him about something so personal, Rae doesn't blame him for keeping his head down and avoiding any more conversations.

After a fourth group of girls giggle past and call out to Finn, him only responding with a nod, Rae starts to wonder if this is an everyday thing for him or just because summer has just ended and these people haven't seen him in a while. She's about to ask as much when she feels her phone buzzing in her back pocket. It's a text from Izzy asking if Rae wants to meet for lunch at twelve thirty. Which is fifteen minutes away.

"Finn, which way is the café?"

"We just have to make a right up here. Meetin' the gang for lunch?" Rae just looks at him confused. "Izzy, Chop, Archie?"

Rae looks back down at her phone and rereads the text. Izzy doesn't mention anyone else being there or make it seem like Rae is an add on. Putting her phone back in her pocket, Rae follows Finn and prepares for the continuing parade of people trying to talk to him.

The café is overwhelming. Too many bodies, too many tables, too many voices overlapping. If Rae had come here alone she'd have quickly turned and left, not even bother trying to find Izzy in this mess. But glancing over at Finn, he's as calm as a cucumber and jutting his chin off to the far left. Rae sees a booth tucked into a corner, Izzy's bright red curls puffing over the top. Relief floods Rae before the panic of this situation can really set in.

Before Rae can go towards the booth, Finn reminds her that they still need to grab their food. Panic trickles back in. Finn must see it in her eyes because he gives a reassuring smile and leads her towards the center of the mayhem.

There are too many choices, too many stations. It's like a food court but in a smaller space, no one giving a damn who they bump into or what falls as long as they get the fries or pizza they want. It's a damn circus. Everyone else looks completely unfazed, like they all trained in 'how to get your food and get out' and Rae was the only one who missed that session. Finn swerved between bodies easily, so she followed closely and prayed she didn't get lost or slam right into a stranger. There were some bumps and passing apologies but the two made it.

With trays in hand they head over to the booth, arriving just as a roar of laughter erupts. Izzy and Chop are in one side of the booth, Archie across from them. The three glance up and seem confused for a second. Rae wonders if Izzy forgot to tell the rest that she'd invited her.

"Grumpy sod, thought you was busy?" Chop says, Archie nodded along with him.

"Soz dad." Finn rolls his eyes and gestures for Rae to scoot in beside Archie.

Finn slides in beside her and the rest explain what they were laughing about. Then everyone talks about their classes that day, the classes they had yesterday, Chop seeming to hate every single class and every teacher equally.
