Hello again my friends, I hope you all enjoyed the last chapter. I hope to get plenty of feedback from you all. Like it or hate it, let me know all of your opinions and suggestions. In this chapter we'll be finally taking a look at the DxD universe, but not that much as I'm still using this chapter as exposition, sorry about that.

Still no pairings just yet, but I do want to let you all know that I will not have Izuku steal all the spotlight from Issei. Izuku is 100% the mc of this fanfic, but Issei will still have a crucial role in this story.

Kamenridersaber:

In this chapter, you will probably put together that I am dropping our green bean fighting machine a few months before canon starts. While I do agree with your sentiment, remember that Izuku has no clue what is in store for him in this universe, and will definitely be taken by surprise.

curlyboy01:

Will he? You can probably see my answer to your question when you read this chapter.

Gamelover41592:

I hope somewhere good fellow game buddy

Z88A:

I really like Yasaka too, but for this story and timeline, it would be hard to have her as Izuku's pairing. Not only that, while Kunou is cute and young, she is already far too old to see a 16-year-old as a father figure, but once we get to that arc she could definitely see him as an older brother instead. Thanks for the input!

I don't own My Hero Academia or High School DxD

No Ones POV - Another Universe

Dead in the middle of the night, in an alleyway in the town of Kuoh, a large dark purplish portal materialized into existence right above an open dumpster, scaring any and all nearby critters away. If one were to spot the occurrence, they would believe it to be a gateway to something entirely unknown, but before anyone can notice such a phenomenon, it began to close on itself. Just as it was about to fully close, however, a green form shot through the portal, landing in the dumpster with a loud slam, making bags and moldy foods alike fly into the air.

It wouldn't be until morning that the young man named Midoriya Izuku would be found in the dumpster and sent to the nearest hospital, half dead, unconscious, and soon to be known to him, in the wrong place & time.

Izuku POV

Slowly coming to consciousness, Izuku feels out with his senses, only to be met with intense pain, rooting from all over his body. "Mmmfffp!" he tried to groan out, only to find out his mouth was muffled by some kind of fabric. 'Oh God, didn't I die ?' Izuku internalized to himself, 'So why am I in the worst kind of pain possible while not being able to move or talk… is this hell?' Finally coming to a conclusion, the ninth inheritor of One for All started to panic, 'Nononono, it can't be? But what else can it be if I'm not dead? Was it because I grabbed that limited edition All Might poster first from that boy two years ago?" Feeling tears starting to form in his eyes," I knew I should've taken Shiozaki-san's offer when she asked everyone in the hero course to-' before he could finish he was interrupted.

"I'd hate to interrupt your very loud internal mumbling, but it's been a few minutes, and I have a job to do," an unfamiliar voice says, amusement clearly lacing her voice. "Let's start with opening our eyes, shall we."

Hearing this, Izuku immediately flushed red, not that anyone could see at the moment, then opened his eyes forcefully, his emerald orbs greeted to a somewhat familiar site. 'A hospital, I… lived?' Looking at his body, he sees himself once again covered head to toe in bandages. Happiness starting to settle in, he looks at the voice from earlier, seeing a middle-aged brown-haired woman wearing a lab coat. Moving his left arm ever so slightly, he shifts the bandages covering his face, exposing his mouth. "H-hello" Izuku greeted raspily.

"Hello to you too Midoriya Izuku, my name is Dr. Fujimura," she replied with a gentle smile " I'm sorry to tell you this, but you were found severely injured and unconscious a week ago in a dumpster with several lacerations across your body, along with bone fractures and an extreme case of muscle strains all over."

Nodding his head in acceptance, the One for All user was hardly surprised by his injuries at this point, maybe except for the fact he hadn't actually broken an arm this time. "Where's recovery girl?" He asked, knowing that her quirk would speed up his recovery severalfold. Expecting to get a location and ETA, his gaze was met by confusion.

"Recovery girl?" Dr. Fujimura asked in uncertainty. "Is that some kind of superhero comic?"

Now confusion crept onto young Izuku's face, "Recovery girl? One of the best support heroes in history? Head nurse of UA Highschool? Incredible healing quirk?"

"Heroes? UA? Healing quirk? I'm sorry Midoriya-kun, I don't know what you're talking about." She replies almost too gently, while writing something down, "Look I have to do a few tests on you and afterward, we can talk about comics as much as you want."

In his head, Izuku's mind was racing at the speed of light, 'How could she not know?' He asked himself, staring forward blankly. "Not just recovery girl, but heroes and quirks as well?' He pondered as the doctor moved around the room, preparing her tests and examinations. 'What does this mean?'

"I'm sorry if I don't know too much about comics these days, the only ones I remember were when I was younger, and superhero comics were just coming to the woodworks when I was born." She stated, making small talk while organizing her clipboard of papers.

As if the final pieces of the puzzle were jutted into place, the bandaged young man's head started forming a conclusion. 'Heroes have been a thing for hundreds of years, yet she doesn't know anything about quirks or the hero industry.' Meaning that… "E-excuse me, Fujimura-san, can I know the date?"

She laughed heartily, "Sorry Midoriya-kun, of course you would want to know the date after being asleep for so long, it's the afternoon of January 12th."

Izuku mustered his strength to sit up and gulped, "a-and the year?"

"2008."

As if time itself had stopped, so had Izuku's world. 'No…' He slumped back down into the bed, staring at his broken body. 'It can't be… right?' As Dr. Fujimura started to do checkups and examinations on him, he had just mindlessly complied, responding to questions like a robot. 'Could it possibly have been the blast?' Despite his state of mind, he began noticing small things about the room. There was nothing that showed any sort of adaptability to different quirks or mutants. There was no hero merch displayed on walls or tables that he was so used to seeing, only maps and diagrams. Even the technology, he noticed that it was much older than he was used to, seeing most of the equipment in the room was low-tech compared to even his old middle school infirmary. 'It had to be.'By the time the doctor was done with all she needed to do, the former hero-in-training had come to a terrible conclusion, 'I'm in the past.'

"Well then Midoriya-kun, that'll be all for today. In a few days, a couple of officers will come by to ask you a few questions now that you're awake and recovering, but until then" She waved as she walked to the door. "Enjoy your stay at Kuoh Town's best hospital" she turned off the lights.

After contemplating for what seemed like hours after Dr. Fujimura left, drowsiness began to take hold of Izuku. "Kuoh huh," the ninth holder mumbled as he slowly falls asleep. "I didn't think…" he begins, drifting off "...we had one of those." Falling into a deep slumber, Izuku had no clue he had one last surprise for him that night.

Izuku POV - Vestige World

Opening his eyes once again, albeit, with much less resistance, Izuku is greeted to a barren throne room with seven empty ceremonial-like chairs. "So they really are gone now, aren't they," Izuku said to himself, sadness filling his dull green eyes. "I'm all alone now."

Walking forward from his spot, he goes to the only door in the room, the one leading to One for All's core, opening it and walking in.

"Ah, nice to finally see you again after all these years young Izuku," a familiar voice calls out to him, making Izuku jump in place, spinning around in record time. "I could vividly remember the day you came in with your mother to see what quirk you would get, only to be met with such a disappointment." Izuku's old quirk doctor reminisced.

Initially surprised by his appearance, Izuku quickly postures himself into a stance, ready to defend himself, "Dr. Tsubasa, how are you in here?" the ninth holder demands.

"Calm yourself child, I'm not here to fight, I am a mere vestige after all." He states calmly, completely unfazed by the green-haired teen's reaction. "Refer to me as Garaki as well, Tsubasa was just another cover anyway." The now newly identified Dr. Garaki continued, "As for how I'm in here, you can thank the lord's idiot of a brother for that," he scoffed distastefully. "Somehow, he was able to steal one of the All for One's quirks, transferring it over to you, which just so happened to be mine."

"I… have another quirk?" Izuku quietly murmured, thinking about why the first user would do such a thing.

At this response, Dr. Garaki's eyes twinkled with fascination, "That is indeed what I said, young man," he replied, passion laced in his voice as he continued, "One for All, what an incredible quirk, a clear example of my life's work on quirk singularity. Over time, it has been gathering strength, generation after generation, and within you," he points over to Izuku, "it has finally reached singularity, allowing you to tap into the supercharged quirks of your forbearers. Imagine that," Dr. Garaki laughs out manically "to think, the little boy that I had once diagnosed as quirkless, ended up being the greatest evidence to my theory. Almost poetic don't you think?"

The One for All user's brows furrowed, "So what does that mean now?" Izuku questioned suspiciously, "What is it are you after here Dr. Garaki?"

Unperturbed by his accusations, the evil scientist admitted, "Nothing at all, actually. In the past week I have been here, I have been analyzing One for All's core assimilate myself into it." Now in an almost serene-like state, Dr. Garaki continued, "As I have never been a holder of the quirk before, by morning I will disappear and my ability will become the final piece of One for All." Releasing a weary sigh, an exhausted quirk doctor turned to face Izuku, "I might as well tell someone of my findings."

Izuku, understanding the implications of Dr. Garaki's uncharacteristic-like help, nodded. "You… you just want to be remembered, don't you?" He asks.

Scoffing, the doctor spoke, "Don't try to twist my words, I'll help you as you have already been coming to the wrong conclusions since you've awoken in this world, it has been painful to watch."

Brows furrowing, the ninth wielder, spoke, "Wrong conclusions? What do you mean? Wasn't I sent back in time?"

Crossing his arms, "Wrong! Having been alive for more than a century, I have memorized every part of Japan in every era like the back of my hand." Understanding where he was heading Izuku's eyes widened. "Did you know that in all the times since Japan was united there was never a single town or city named Kuoh?"

"That would mean…!"

"Yes!" Dr. Garaki exclaimed with an obsessive grin. "My dear boy, you aren't just in the wrong era, you are in the wrong dimension altogether!"

"How could that happen though? Did One for All bring me to another dimension?"

"Partial credit once again young man," the doctor voiced. "While it was the power that sent you here, the catalyst was lord's body." Seeing the confusion on the young hero's face he continued, "With his body rewriting the laws of causality through the rewind drug, as well as him using a portal quirk in such a state, your power made the tear in space reach far beyond the limits of the portal quirk, bypassing both the laws of space and time, creating a tear in dimensions for you to fall through, landing you in this world."

"Is there…is there a chance of returning?" Izuku asked hopefully, eyes looking for something to cling to.

Dr. Garaki thinks for a moment, and then shakes his head, "The portal was created by sheer coincidence and miracle, even if you were able to recreate the scenario, the chance of returning to our own universe out of the infinite ones out there is near impossible."

"I see," the hero said, shoulders slumping down.

"Currently, that is," the doctor continued, causing the One for All user's ears to perk up. "In the future, it may be possible with the right technology and complete control over your power."

Hope returning to his eyes, Izuku faced Dr. Garaki, "But how long would that take?" he asked inquisitively.

"That's the thing, I do not know the current state of this world, quirks most likely won't be an issue here as the glowing baby date has already passed. It could take anywhere from 200 or more years to reach that kind of technology."

"Will there even be a point by then?" Izuku asked himself. "Will I even be alive that long?" he muttered, remembering his new quirk.

"Yes, yes you will be," Dr. Garaki replied. "And much much longer as well," he whispers.

Barely hearing the last part of the doctor's sentence, Izuku inquires "W-what do you mean?" A moment of silence passes.

Dr. Garaki heaved a sigh of wistfulness to break the silence, "It looks like my time is nearly up," he states blankly, making Izuku face him, seeing that he had begun to wisp away. "My quirk." the quirk analyzer's ears perk up, while the doctor looks at him with a mixture of pity and jealousy, puzzling him. "It's a mutant type called 'Life Force,' as you might already know it allowed me to double my lifespan, but I'd have to say, with One for All, it has changed more than your other quirks ever did. Whereas my life merely doubled, yours… well yours is hard to put to paper."

Finally understanding what the doctor's expression meant, Izuku closed his eyes, preparing himself for what he'll hear. "How long will I live?" he asked, his voice filled with dread.

"Hard to say" Dr. Garaki contemplated, starting to look translucent. "From what I've gathered from this past week, the quirk makes it that the older you get, the slower you age, it could range anywhere from 2000 to 10000 years. It could be more," he shrugged. "Who knows? There was also a change I couldn't understand that came with my quirk's evolution, it'll be up to you to figure out."

Putting his words on the back burner for now, Izuku opens his eyes, seeing that most of Dr. Garaki was gone, he steels himself and looked at him dead in the eye. "Even though I can't forgive you for what you've done to hurt so many people…" the hero started, standing up straight. "...I will thank you for your guidance!" Izuku finished with a deep bow towards the former quirk doctor.

After a moment of silence passes, possibly signifying the doctor's surprise, he finally decided to break the stillness. "I see now," Dr. Garaki mused to himself, as if finally answering a question he's had all these years, "Make sure to spend those years I've given you to accomplish something of worth child. I won't be able to rest easy if you die prematurely to some idiotic cause." With that Dr. Garaki Kyudai fully vanished into the core of One for All and darkness began to encroach on Izuku's form.

With silence now permeating throughout the void of the vestige world with no vestiges, Izuku murmurs to himself, "I guess I'm all alone again," darkness fully encompassing him.

Izuku POV - A Few Days Later

Izuku was sitting up in the hospital bed staring out the window, feeling a little better than before and covered in fewer bandages. It was almost noon, the time of which the police officers were said to coming to question him, according to Dr. Fujimura.

There was a knock at the door.

"Come in" Izuku responded.

A male and a female police officer walked into the room. "Hello there young man," the male officer greeted. "I am Officer Kojiro and this is my associate, Officer Watanabe," the female officer nodded with a smile. "It's nice to meet you."

"Ah, y-yes, likewise sir, ma'am." Izuku quickly responded. Regardless of how he was feeling, it was still his obligation to be polite to people who took time out of their schedule to help him.

Smiling kindly, Officer Watanabe approached closer to Izuku and sat down next to him on a stool. "Midoriya-kun correct?" Izuku nodded, flushing slightly at the proximately of the pretty woman. "We have a few things we need to tell and ask you."

After getting another nod of confirmation from the teen, Officer Kojiro spoke up, "We would like to know your story on how you were found injured and dressed in, unusual clothing, do you think you recall the experience for us?" He asked gently.

Shaking his head, Izuku replied, "I-I'm sorry, I can't remember anything, how I got there, how I got my i-injuries, or even where I am." Half-truth, he can't remember how he got here or where he really was.

"I see," Officer Kojiro mutters, writing something down, "Do you think you can tell us anything about the older scars all over your body." Izuku flinched, not expecting them to bring that up.

Officer Watanabe glares at her associate, making him wince for being so insensitive. She turns her attention back to the green-haired teen with a smile. "It's ok Midoriya-kun," she places her hand over his, "you don't have to tell us anything you don't want to," she said softly.

"Thank you for understanding," Izuku replies, looking away, trying his best not to resemble a freckled tomato and failing, causing Officer Watanabe to giggle and her male counterpart to snort in amusement.

"On to another problem," Officer Kojiro states changing the subject to avoid getting too off-topic, "Unfortunately, we couldn't find you in the system," Izuku's stomach began to drop, seeing where the conversation was heading, "but due to such extenuating circumstance as well as this being an unprecedented case we were able to get you papers based on the information you had on your-" he snorted again "'-provisional hero license' that was found on your clothes when you were brought to the hospital."

"Meaning that," Officer Watanabe interrupted, letting go of his hand to reach into her bag, "we are here to formally congratulate you on officially becoming a Japanese citizen." She smiled warmly, presenting a folder filled with all the papers needed to live in Japan, placing it on his side table.

Sighing in relief, Izuku slumped back into his bed, as if a large weight was taken off his shoulders. 'I'm glad that worked out so well, if it didn't, I wouldn't what to do." Looking at the two officers, he wonders, 'Why was that so easy anyway? Must be an era difference.' He concluded.

"Now that that's out of the way," Officer Kojiro proclaimed. "You now have a couple of choices, since you're 16 years of age, you can be put into an orphanage where you can stay while finding a job to work in the meantime and once you're 18 you can leave. On the other hand, you could take a test and see where you place for education, and depending on your scores, you could qualify for the next term at a high school nearby, plus considering you can qualify for certain scholarships, your school and living expenses can be easily paid for if you work hard enough." He finished with a thumbs up.

'Finishing my education huh?' Thinking back with his friends and classmates back at UA, 'Can I really just go to a new school after leaving my old one?' Izuku internally asked himself. 'What would Kacchan say if he saw me now?' he thought, picturing a blond, red-eyed exploding teen, 'DEKU YOU BASTARD DON'T YOU DARE EVEN THINK ABOUT NOT FINISHING SCHOOL OR I'LL KILL YOU!' wincing at his memory, 'That's exactly what he'd say, there was never really any decision to make at all.' "I'll take the test if it's alright with you sir."

Kojiro beamed, "Good choice."

In the past two weeks since the officers first came by, a few things have changed. For one, Izuku's education placement exam had him placed at a second-year level in high school, allowing him to be eligible for Kuoh Academy's next term in spring, starting in a few months.

Another thing that changed was that, while not fully healed, the ninth wielder of One for All was no longer bedridden and was now focused on regaining his strength. The police officers as well as the staff of the hospital were all kind enough to all pitch in to give him 300,000 yen altogether to help him find a place to live until school started. Knowing this, the green-haired teen with tears threatening to leave his eyes promised to work hard and do his best in school.

After that, Izuku looked for cheap apartments to live in, close enough to be within walking distance of Kuoh Academy. After finally finding a decent place for 60,000 yen per month referred to him by Watanabe, Izuku was discharged from the hospital, taking himself and his belongings on his way.

This brings us to the present, with Izuku entering his new one-bedroom apartment with the bare necessities and clothes, bought from the 100 yen store.

After putting away his belongings in the proper places around the small apartment and placing his newly folded futon in the middle of the room close to the window, Izuku looks around his new living space in a moment of complete silence.

He then breaks that silence by releasing a snort. "It looks exactly like Shoji's dorm room," Izuku chuckles, breaking out into a small laugh, remembering the whole dorm room showcase contest. "That was the first time I ever had friends see my bedroom before." Izuku smiled longingly, "I remember, Sato won that competition with his cakes, and that Tokoyami had a really cool sword in his room, and Koda had animals we were able to pet, and Todoroki surprised everyone by completely replacing his flooring with tatami mats, and I had actually gone into a girl's room for the first time, and Kacchan... well Kacchan was being Kacchan and… and…" Before he knew it tears were running down his face like waterworks. Crashing his back into the wall behind him and sliding to the ground, the ninth wielder of One for All began to sob in his lone one-bedroom apartment. Despite it being so small, he wished it could be filled to the brim with the people he loves.

"I-I miss you guys so much." Izuku chokes out. "I want to come back home, I did it, I beat All for One, that means the heroes won right? So why? Why?!" he shouts out to no one in particular, slamming his fist into the ground. After a moment of silence passes, the 16-year-old boy whispers to himself, "Why did I still lose?"

Sniffling to himself, Izuku wiped his tears and shut his eyes, remembering his mother with her short stature and their matching green hair and emerald eyes. "I'm sorry mom, it looks like I won't be coming home anytime soon, I love you." All Might, his mentor, his father figure, the man he brushed off harshly the last time they spoke. "I'm sorry All Might," tears beginning to regather within the corners of his eyes. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean what I said before, I know you meant well." Closing his eyes even tighter to prevent further tears from falling, he continued, "I should've listened to you, if I hadn't worn myself out before fighting All for One, I could've…I could've." He trailed off trying to find the words to apologize to his mentor.

"Young Midoriya," a deep, warm familiar voice calls out to him.

His eyes shoot open to see a golden silhouette of a man known as the symbol of peace. "All Might!" Izuku cries out, tears now running rampant in a seemingly unlimited amount. "I'm sorry I left you, that I didn't listen to you, and… an-"

The incomplete vestige of All Might lays his hand on his successor's shoulder. "Young Midoriya, if anyone has to apologize then it would be me. I had promised to both myself and your mother that I would protect you with my life, that I would train you to the point where you would be strong enough to handle any obstacle headed your way. In both regards, I am a failure as a mentor as well as a hero."

"That's not true All Might, I was the one who-" All Might's ethereal hand raises to signal Izuku to refrain from talking further.

Using his successor's silence as a cue to continue, "But despite my many failures, you have continued to grow and surpass any and all expectations young Midoriya," the vestige proudly spoke with a smile. "You had succeeded where I had failed, ending the root cause for which One for All was created. You had been the one to constantly put yourself in harm's way to save those in need and inspire others to act."

Izuku, his mouth now shut, was staring at All Might with a mixture of sadness and joy, his tears flowing freely down his cheeks, despite his attempts to wipe them away.

All Might continued, tears flowing down his golden visage, "And even with all of that, you had even saved me. Before I had met you, young Izuku, I had been nothing except an empty husk looking for a place to find peace," he admitted somberly. "But you, training you, teaching you as my successor?" The vestige brought himself into his successor for an embrace, and despite not feeling him physically, Izuku could feel the warmth emanating from his mentor. "It had lit a fire within me, giving me the will to live and fight on once more, for a sake not my own…" He trailed off, not knowing his next few words would stay within the young man for the rest of his life, "...in many ways, young Izuku, you have taught me what it's like to have a son."

Sobbing even harder into his embrace, Izuku still stayed quiet, allowing All Might to continue. "In this new world of yours remember this: work hard, study well, eat and sleep plenty, remember to be yourself, and keep reminding yourself that no matter what you do and what you achieve, know that I will always be proud of you."

Sniffling quietly, the young man nodded his head, "I-I will," he said resolutely, wiping his tears. "I promise"

All Might smiled warmly, "Thank you, young Izuku, and even though I will not always make my presence known, just remember that I will always be with you" with those final words, All Might dispersed back into the depths within One for All.

A moment of silence passes through the room as Izuku ingrains in the depths of his mind what had just occurred.

With All Might gone, Izuku was left to his own devices once again, but somehow, it didn't feel as heavy to him as it was before. Standing up from the ground, the young man notices his surroundings and releases a tired sigh. "I should've bought a mop when I was out." He was currently standing in a large puddle of his own tears he now need to clean up. "Well," he says to himself, folding his pants into shorts. "There's no time like the present."

After settling in for a few days and spending much of his time at internet cafes to learn the current state of the world, the One for All inheritor decided to finally look around for a job to help him sustain his current lifestyle, while also familiarizing himself with the town.

Leaving his apartment, Izuku traveled to the shopping district in hopes of finding some kind of place needing workers without any work experience. Walking around, he first truly noticed how different the community was from his old home. Back in his world, people came in all sorts of shapes and appearances due to mutant-type quirks, ranging from having animal-like features, or even being several times bigger than normal humans. In this reality, however, "Everyone is quirkless…" Izuku whispered to himself, amazed, as he looked around, seeing dozens of 'normal' humans go about on their day. "This is what it's like in a world with quirks huh?" the green-haired teen stopped to look at his reflection in a window. 'Two years ago, I would've fit right in this place' he internally mused.

He also found out in this dimension, that without heroes or quirks, there were no villains hiding in the shadows, constantly destroying property or committing heinous crimes. There were still criminals, but only cases that were easily handled by the local police or government. "There's no need for someone All Might here." Izuku murmured to himself, looking at his ragged, calloused, scarred hands, "No need for someone like me." With society not thrown into chaos due to the rise of quirks, peace was never lost. While a thought like that brought joy to the young hero's heart, accompanied with that joy, was dejection. He could no longer achieve his dream to become a hero that saves everyone with a smile in a world that was better off without him.

As he puts contemplating his future to the side for now, Izuku went from store to store, asking if there were any job openings to no avail. While there were some that had job openings, there weren't any that he was qualified enough for. Despite his many feats of heroism, the hero known as Deku was not a skilled cook or an experienced clothing retail associate, ask him to punch through concrete however, he's your man.

With the sun setting, he started to head back to his apartment. "Can't apply for construction work they say, "You're too young kid, come back in a few years and we'll hire ya."," Izuku muttered to himself, carrying groceries in hand, clearly in a down mood. The one job he knew he could be qualified for, lifting up heavy materials, and he was too young. "I've cleaned up a junkyard on my own, I think I could handle mysel-"

"Ergghh, dammit all!" An elderly voice shouted out in the nearby park, clearly in some kind of distress.

Barely shutting off his instinct to activate One for All, Izuku dropped his bags and rushed to the voice, his hero training kicking in. "Sir, are you okay?!" Turning the corner, he spots an elderly man facing a vending machine, clearly mad at it, seeing as he was kicking the drink dispenser with all his might.

Turning his head, the old man sees the green-haired teen, "Ah, sorry. I'm all good kid, it's just that I had dropped my wallet and accidentally kicked it under this hunk of junk." he said annoyed, gesturing to the vending machine behind him. "I'll have to call a few people tomorrow to come help me get it out."

Seeing the old man in need of assistance, the young hero didn't even hesitate. "No need to worry sir, I'll help you out," Izuku assured with a bright smile.

Skeptical, the old man asked, "Really now?" He looked at the green-haired teen top to bottom then back at the heavy-duty steel vending machine, "Not to burst your bubble, but that thing is probably several times your weight." He scratched his head and turned to Izuku once more. "It's fine brat, I'll come back for it another time, shouldn't you be heading home by now anyway?"

"Don't worry about me, umm…?" Izuku responded, internally face-palming himself for not properly introducing himself.

"Name's Tanaka kid, what's yours?"

"Midoriya Izuku, nice to meet you Tanaka-san." He greeted back, bowing his head a little. "As I was saying earlier, I haven't done anything productive today besides trying to look for a job, the least I could do is help you. If you don't mind?" He added quickly.

Sighing to himself, "Youngsters these days," he muttered in exhaustion. "Why the hell not?" He said, exasperated, causing Izuku's smile to widen. "Just don't go and blow your back out trying to lift the damn thing."

"Yes sir!" Moving to the machine Izuku thought to himself, 'This shouldn't be too hard without One for All, but I'll definitely be a little sore tomorrow though.' Despite being discharged from the hospital, the ninth inheritor hasn't fully recovered from his last fight. As he had briefly tested One for All in an abandoned warehouse a couple of days ago, his body straining by just charging up to 30%. Knowing this, he still believed he could lift the vending machine long enough to grab Tanaka-san's wallet. "Alright!" Izuku said, crouching into position, putting his hands under the contraption. As he was about to lift with all his strength he was interrupted by the voice of the elderly.

"There's no reason for you to impress me brat," Tanaka reassured, delaying the young man.

"I'm not trying to," Izuku replied quickly, mustering his strength once more for a single burs-

"My wallet is in the corner furthest from you."

"Got it." the green-haired teen answered promptly, a little ruffled, but attempted to raise the machine agai-

"Don't forget to lift with your legs."

"I won't," Izuku said through his gritted his teeth, preparing to lift regardless of the next words that come out of the old man's mou-

"Also, remember to se-"

Clang

Tanaka was interrupted, his jaw dropping at the sight of the massive vending machine being uplifted with ease by a boy several times smaller than it. "Wha?" he asked dumbly.

He wasn't the only one surprised by the feat of strength though. Internally Izuku was screaming to himself, his brain running at lightspeed, conjuring up future possibilities. Breaking News: A Young Man With Superpowers On The Run, Dawn of Human Evolution? 'C'mon Izuku, not even a week by yourself in a new dimension and you've already given yourself away? You can salvage this, just turn off One for All and say it was a trick of the light.' Reaching for his mental switch, to turn One for All off, he suddenly realized that he wasn't using his quirk at all. Looking down at his body, he sees that his iconic arcs of emerald lightning were missing and in its place, there were very small wisps of some kind of white aura which was dispersing as quickly as it had come. Knowing he had one chance to fix this without blowing his abilities, he acts fast. He quickly sets down one side of the vending machine, and with one hand still holding up one side, he reaches down and picks up Tanaka's wallet from underneath, then fully places down the contraption with a faked grunt.

"Man, that sure was heavy, here's your wallet kind sir," Izuku announced casually in his best acting voice, presenting the wallet to the older man.

His mouth still open, surprise and confusion strewn on his face, Tanaka mindlessly takes his wallet back, "I…you…vending machine…err." stumbling through his words he eventually recollects himself. "Yeah, uhh thanks kid, but how did ya lift the damn thing so easily?" He questioned curiously staring at the young man with a piercing glare.

With the question of the hour's arrival, Izuku was sweating hard, trying to find a bullshit, yet plausible enough answer to satisfy any further thoughts and questions of Tanaka's. "It's a medical condition!" he suddenly blurted out, internally smashing his face into a wall. Seeing the confusion spread on the older man's face, he decided to roll with it, mustering all the human biology he could remember from school and his experiences. "I uhh, was diagnosed with a very rare disorder which um, made it so my brain doesn't have safety limiters for my muscles, making me able to do superhuman-like feats of strength?" Internally patting himself on the back for that answer he thought to himself, 'Good thing I remembered what happened to me when I first fought Muscular to save Kota.'

"I… see." Looking relatively satisfied with that answer, Tanaka let loose a sigh. "Pretty cool condition kid, anyways, thanks again for getting my wallet for me, would've taken forever if you didn't."

Relieved that he accepted that answer and expressed gratitude, a smile bloomed on Izuku's face, "It was my pleasure, sir. You have a good night." As he began to leave, he was stopped once more.

"Hey Midoriya" the green-haired teen turned around to face a pondering Tanaka. "You said you were looking for a job right?"

Nodding, Izuku replied, "Yeah, I'm looking for one as soon as possible, before the next term starts."

"In that case, you wouldn't mind working in my bookstore would you?" He proposed, making the younger man's eyes widen. "It's just a small local one, but I could use a spry young man like yourself to help me out, I'm getting too to old lift heavy boxes anyway." Tanaka finished.

"O-of course I don't mind!" Izuku accepted with haste, deeply bowing. "Thank you for giving chance Tanaka-san!"

"No need to thank me brat, I'm just filling my ranks" the old man chuckled at the teen's antics, a twinkle in his eye. He then quickly brought out a notepad and pen and wrote something down. "Now here's the address and time, don't be late or I'll give you hell." Giving him the slip of paper, Tanaka left the park with a wave.

Smiling, Izuku put away the paper and started to head toward his apartment. "I guess I have a job now," he said to himself giddily, thinking about his future job at Tanaka's bookstore. "But…" he trailed off looking at his body, remembering that white aura coming from his body. 'What was that?' he thought to himself. 'It wasn't One for All or any of the previous holder quirks.' He then remembered a certain vestige doctor's words. "There was also a change I couldn't understand that came with my quirk's evolution, it'll be up to you to figure out." "Could it be that?" he muttered to himself. 'Possibly, it's the only conclusion I can think of for now. Regardless, I have to get it under control fast, I can't be randomly using too much strength or I'll look too suspicious.' Finally arriving at his apartment, night already settling in, he released a tired sigh. "Looks like I have my work cut out for me." Izuku smiled glumly, ready to face to future, 'But first, dinner.'

"…"

"Oh crap!" Izuku suddenly shouted comically. "I left my groceries back at the park!" With that said he broke into a swift run, heading back to where he had left his bags before, hoping that they weren't taken by any passerby.
