Chapter 2: It's time for a hero round up
Shota Aizawa has always considered himself to be a logical person. As an underground pro hero, his ability to analyze and assess situations quickly and accurately has become top-notch. So when he suddenly found himself in an all-white, never-ending void-like room his immediate thought was quite simple.
'So, I'm dead.' He thought blandly.
Okay. So maybe that wasn't the most logical first thought. Sighing, he looked around and decided to walk until he found some answers.
"Maybe I'll find the registration line for the dead." He joked, rolling his eyes.
He decided to walk off in a random direction and just continue straight. Logically he knew he most likely wouldn't find anything, but it isn't like he had a lot of options. So he walked.
And walked.
And walked, and walked, and walked for what felt like hours. He decided to take a break and brainstorm for a minute.
'Okay, Shota…let's think things through. You know you've been walking for a long time with no end in sight. What could this mean? Am I actually dead? Or am I in some kind of trap?'
The moment that last thought crossed his mind he wanted to slap himself. A quirk is a logical explanation and he should've thought of that first.
"Bravo," A voice called out causing Shota to whip around looking for the source. The problem? He couldn't pinpoint the direction the voice came from.
'What? Where did that come from?'
"Someone is getting frustrated." the voice called out once more.
He was past the point of frustration, he was getting angry. He heard the voice coming from all directions. The stupid voice could somehow project from everywhere.
"Now now Shota, why so serious?" the voice chuckled, clearly amused.
Shota found nothing funny.
Glaring straight ahead, "How about you tell me exactly who you are and what you want." Shota demanded.
"Should've known better than to joke around with you"
At this point, Shota was becoming increasingly annoyed. He had no idea where he was, what became of his students, or what the fuck was going on. He wanted answers and whoever brought him here isn't taking him seriously.
As if sensing his thoughts the voice called out for his attention.
"Before you get angry just know you aren't dead and your students are safe."
"And I'm just supposed to take your word for it? I don't see any proof and you've got me in this weird-ass fucking room with no exits." Shota spat.
"You're right. I have no intention of keeping you here any longer than needed, but we do have things to talk about. I brought you here because I want to help you and the rest of your students."
Hearing the genuineness in the voice caused Shota to calm down enough to agree to talk. Thought, he was worried by the wording of what the voice said. Why would his students need help?
Snapping out of his thoughts he sighed, rubbing his hands over his face.
"Fine, let's talk"
Immediately Shota had to cover his eyes due to a blinding white light that suddenly erupted.
"Sorry about the brightness, can't control that yet." The voice chuckled, though now it's coming from directly behind him.
As the light finally faded, Aizawa tensed and turned around. On guard, he noticed a person directly in front of him.
An average-looking man who seems to be in his early 20s with a very plain-looking face. Nothing about him stood out and nothing was threatening about him. If anything Aizawa felt extremely comfortable in his presence.
Smiling, the person introduced himself. " As you've probably already guessed, I'm the one behind the voice. My name is Nye Hamon and I'm a huge fan of yours"
Ignoring the last part of that introduction he, the pro hero just nodded, Asking what it is he wants to talk about.
Losing his smile, the mans face suddenly became more serious. The change in mood immediately put the black-haired man on the edge.
'This must be more serious than I thought'
Seeing Shota straighten up showed Hamon that the man was listening and so he started to tell his tale. He told Shota that his quirk allows him to manipulate space and time.
'So that's how he did it. I must be in some pocket dimension he created with his quirk. Well, that explains why there are no exits anywhere around.' Shota thought.
"I have seen the future, I have seen the past, and I am seeing the present." Hamon continued. "I know of certain events that happened because of how ignorant you and some others are. There are certain things that you all either just overlook or simply don't go out of your way to learn more about. As logical you consider yourself, you sure will fumble many situations in the future"
Though Aizawa was surprised by his words and wanted to ask him to elaborate, Hamon just continued speaking.
"I want to give you and some other key players the chance to fix what you have broken and prevent you from breaking anything in the future. I'll be showing you important memories from the past, things that happen in the present, and what will happen in the future if you don't change things."
Hamon knew this would be a difficult conversation to have and he answered all questions the man had to the best of his ability. Once done, he handed him a piece of paper and turned around facing away from the pro hero, and spoke.
"I'm going to send you back now, You'll be brought back right after the "explosion" happened. Your students will be fine, but will probably have many questions.
Nodding, Shota said nothing and let the man continue.
"Just be sure you do what we spoke of as soon as you get back, and gather everyone on the list I gave you."
Shota numbly acknowledged him, still in shock.
"Oh and if you would've used your quirk earlier you could have erased my quirk and freed yourself"
Clapping his hands, Hamon gave a quick goodbye and disappeared. As soon as he was out of eyesight, Shota suddenly found himself back in the same spot as when he left, fingers still barely touching the lid.
"Mr. Aizawa!" A voice called.
Turning around he saw his students bar Bakugo and Todoroki running towards him.
"Mr. Aizawa What happened?!"
"What was that?"
"I couldn't move my body at all !"
"Was this some sort of test? Was I so oblivious that I failed to see underneath to underneath once again?"
The dry-eyed pro hero couldn't help but sigh. He just doesn't get paid enough for this.
"Anyone not in their seats in the next minute will be expelled"
It's safe to say that all seats were occupied in seconds.
Walking towards the door, he addressed the students once more. "I'll be back, I need to speak with the principal and afterward your questions will be answered.
As soon as he was out of frame conversation immediately started up.
"Dude! What was up with that explosion? It's like it didn't even happen, but I swear it did!" Kaminari exclaimed.
"There's no point discussing it. Mr. Aizawa has already stated that our questions will be answered once he finished speaking with Principal Nezu." Momo told him. "And no, Iida, I do not think it was a test. If you couldn't tell it was obvious whatever happened was not planned. Our teacher was shaken up by what happened."
The room was suddenly quiet, no one wanted to hear her continue to lecture.
(At the same time in Nezus's office)
Principal Nezu prides himself on his intelligence. He is not a man (or animal) that could be fooled, so when Shota Aizawa barged into his room proclaiming an odd encounter he'd just had, he was completely calm and unbothered.
"Okay." He said sipping a cup of tea. "What I've gathered from your story is that you touched a creepy box that transported you to an unknown place where an even more creepy voice spoke to you and eventually manifested itself in front of you."
"That's what happened," said Aizawa.
Putting down his teacup, Nezu continued "This man, Nye Hamon, then told you that he's going to show you, your class, and some other people the past, present, and future to help change things for the better."
Aizawa nodded once more but stayed silent. Everyone knows it's useless to try and interrupt the principal when he gets talking.
"Okay, I believe you" Nezu stated cheerfully.
'He didn't even ask for proof' Aizawa thought, sweatdropping.
"Anyway... The man said that once we gather everyone into class 1a, then we'd all be transported back to the void-like place I was sent to."
Chucking, Nezu stood up and spoke. "You know, I'm surprised you believe what the man told you, it could be a trap to get high profile pros and future hero's all in one spot to take them out"
This was something that crossed his mind, but his instincts told him he could trust the man and as a hero, if you can't depend on your gut feelings then you couldn't call yourself an actual pro. He said as much to Nezu who wholeheartedly agreed.
"Yes well, let's get started. Who all do we need to contact?"
Pulling out the list Aizawa started reading off the names.
1. Entire Class 1A
2. Shota, Aizawa
3. Mr. Principal
4. Present Mic
5. All Might
6. Endeavor
7. Inko Midoriya
8. Mitsuki Bakugo
'Funny how only two students' parents are on here' Nezu thought.
"Okay. I'll contact Endeavor, Mrs. Midoriya, and Mrs. Bakugo." Nezu started. "You tell All Might and Hizashi to make their way to your class."
Walking out the door Aizawa couldn't help but get lost in his thoughts. 'What could've been so bad that someone felt the need to interfere with my class in particular?' Rubbing his hands over his face he prays that one of his students doesn't die in the future.
Turning the corner, he ran straight into one of the men he'd been looking for and couldn't help but give a smart remark. It wasn't that he hated the man, he just has a slight distaste for heroes like him.
"All might… I'm surprised to have run into you so quickly. What, no interviews today?"
"Ha Ha Ha!" All Might gave his signature laugh. "Always the quick-witted, aren't you Aizawa?"
Rolling his eyes he told him to go find Hizashi and to meet in Class 1A. Not giving him a chance to ask any questions, the dry-eyed hero walked away and towards his homeroom. Though, he was dreading his return to the class.
'Of course, I'm pretty sure I'll be bombarded with dozens of questions the moment I step foot into the room. Maybe I should just take a nap somewhere. It's not like Endeavor will be here anytime soon'
As much as he wanted to roll into his sleeping bag he remembered he left it outside of the classroom. So with a heavy sigh, he made his way to the class. Turning the corner into the hallway his classroom is in, Aizawa's eyes widened in complete shock.
'How?!' He thought in confusion.
Several feet ahead of him in front of the door of his classroom stood Nezu, Endeavor, and the two mothers who were asked to come.
He opened his mouth to question it then thought better. Knowing Nezu I'll get a three-hour speech about how he got them here so fast and I don't care enough to put myself through that.
He didn't heaven acknowledge the four adults standing next to the door as he opened it, thinking 'Let's get this over with'.
As soon as he opened the door he was met with a full-blown argument with the loud blonde-haired boy, Bakugo, and the kid with no control of his quirk, Izuku Midoriya.
"-the fucking are these extras talking about?!"
(A few minutes earlier)
Small conversations were going on throughout the classroom. While their teacher was away many felt this was the perfect time to get to know their peers and more importantly their quirks. Everything was going fine until Ochacho decided to share what happened to her during the entrance exam.
"You guys all have amazing quirks! I wish mine was more useful, I can't even use it that long without getting nauseous," she stated miserably.
Not wanting her to feel sad Izuku spoke up, "N-No don't think that!" He exclaimed. "You're lucky to have such an awesome quirk. I mean just think about how you saved me that day"
At this Ochacho perked up. "Ooh Yes! Let's talk about your amazing quirk! If anyone saved anyone then it was you who saved me."
Of course, Bakugo overheard this and laughed.
"What are you talking about? The nerd doesn't have a fucking quirk. I should know, I've known him my entire life"
Both Iida and Ochacho were confused.
"Of course, Midoriya has a quirk, he destroyed a zero pointer in the exam. He completely destroyed it with one punch, though he did break both his legs and an arm."
Izuku could tell Bakugo was getting angry and he wanted to be anywhere but here at the moment.
"K-Kacchan… I can expl-" He started.
"DEKU!" Bakugo cut him off. "What the fuck are these extras talking about?!" He spat, stalking towards him with sparks flying from his fists.
"KATSUKI!"
At that voice, both Midoriya and Bakugo turned towards the door to see Mitsuki Bakugo, and behind her Inko, All Might, Principal Nezu, Endeavor, Present Mic, And Mr. Aizawa.
"The Fuck?! / Mom?" Katsuki and Izuku thought.
They weren't the only students surprised to see their parent standing front of them. Shoto Todoroki was pissed. He had finally gotten a chance to get away from his father and he shows up here again.
'One day, one day I'll beat you' He thought, glaring at the man who glared right back.
Aizawa senses the tension in the air and decides to make himself known. He goes on to explain to everyone in the classroom a shortened version of what he told Nezu. Some were quietly thinking over what he said, some were shocked, and others were noticeably excited.
"I wonder what we'll see!" exclaimed Sero.
"Hmmm.." Tokoyami looked thoughtful. "This could prove to be very beneficial"
Aizawa caught what he said and asked him to elaborate.
"Well, I imagine we'll see potential enemies and fights from the future. Having knowledge of these things beforehand will give information on their quirks and how they fight. This way they won't be caught off guard and will be able to apprehend those we see more easily."
All the adults in the room silently praised the boy for thinking ahead. It's good to see the heroes of the future thinking things through.
"Oh, Tokoyami! You're so smart" Ashido yelled.
"Yeah, Bro. What you said was so manly" Kirishima chimes in.
This caused Tokoyami to blush and dark shadow came out with a thumbs up looking anything but humble.
"Tokoyami"
He looks up towards the voice that called his name. It was Mr. Aizawa.
"I agree with your classmates. I'm glad to see you taking in this information and already analyzing the situation overall."
Turning to address the rest of those in the class, "I know you all probably have more questions and want to discuss things some more, but we should table these discussions and just go watch the memories. I'm sure any questions you have left will be answered when we get there."
Izuku raised his hand, "Umm Mr. Aizawa, sir. How are we going to get there?"
Murmurs of agreement could be heard throughout the classroom. Aizawa could barely resist rolling his eyes at the boy, seeing as he just told them no more questions. It's like they don't listen to anything.
"I thought I said table these questions and discussions" He stated dryly, causing Izuku to blush. " But, to answer your question, as soon as the those standing on the outside of the door cross the threshold, we'll be transported to the place where we'll be viewing the memories"
Nezu simply chuckled and walked into the classroom while Endeavor looked like he swallowed a lemon. He wasn't sure he wanted anyone to see his memories. Even though there isn't any confirmation that his memories would be shown, it can be inferences based on him needing to be here. Why else would he of all people be on the list?
"Endeavor" Nezus' voice called, breaking him from his train of thought. "Is something the matter?"
Narrowing his eyes, the pro hero scoffed at him but nevertheless stepped into the classroom.
The moment Endeavor was fully through the door a white light flashed brightly causing everyone to flinch or close their eyes.
"What the fuck was that about!?" screamed Bakugo. He didn't like being caught off guard like that.
Everyone did the smart thing and ignored him. They were already getting tired of listening to him yell.
"Wow this is so cool" The purple-haired boy, Mineta exclaimed.
Looking around everyone could see they were in a room big enough to fit all the students and adults. There was a huge 292-inch tv in the front of the room with 27 reclining seats in front of it. In the back left of the room, there was a huge kitchen stocked with enough food to last multiple weeks. The back left side of the room had a hallway that had 32 doors. 5 of those doors are bathrooms and the other 27 are rooms with labels for each of the occupants. Clearly from the setup, the person who brought everyone here intends for us to stay awhile.
Aizawa coughed suddenly, bringing everyone's attention to him standing in front of the large tv holding a note. "This note was left by the person who set all of this up. He states that time here moves differently than time in the real world. 1 week here is equal to 30 minutes in the real world. He wants us to watch these memories to better understand each other and prepare for future events." Looking around at the other 26 occupants had Aizawa asked if anyone had any questions.
Since no one raised their hands or moved to speak, he decided to turn the Tv on so they could watch the first memory.
As soon as Aizawa turned the tv on, title words appeared on the screen.
Izuku Midoriya: Origin
A/N: Okay, so I understand this chapter was pretty long and didn't contain any watching of the story, but I promise that was not on purpose. I did not intend the entire chapter to be based on the events leading up to it, but I started writing and I just couldn't stop adding stuff.
I promise from now on, most everything will be them watching and reacting, with occasional discussions they have about some behaviors *cough* Bakugo *cough* Endeavor* some characters have.
I started this chapter an hour ago and just finished, so I apologize if it seems a bit rushed. I've reread it multiple times but if you come across any mistakes please let me know.
