I've ne'er written a hymn before,

I've ne'er tried my hand,

But maybe my voice is the only one

That can carry through the lands….

I'm not so good at prayin'

Most of the time,

Not so good at sayin'

What's on my mind.

But I want to get better,

And I want to grow,

So that when the time comes,

I'll be able to go.

I know how I've lived

And I know where I've been,

And I know that I didn't do a single thing

To help myself out of my sin.

And I don't know where I'm going,

Where the LORD wants me,

I don't know what I'm doing,

All I know is that I can see!

Hallelujah!
I'm alive!
All of my past has died!

Hallelujah!
Sing your praise!
You have raised me from the grave.

I don't know where my place will be,

Where I'll land after all of this,

All I know is I can see,

And I'm more me cause' you didn't call it quits.

I deserved to fall alone,

No one there and no one home,

I deserved to go to Hell,

But you came up and made me well!

Hallelujah!

I'm alive!
All of my past has died!

Hallelujah!
Sing your praise!
You have raised me from the grave.

And if I take that one last breath,

Unafraid slipping into death,

I hope I will be able to say,

You came and showed me the way.

Through my whole life,

I stayed faithful,

Through all my tears,

I still was grateful.

For the honor of suffering for you-

I can't think of anything I'd rather do!

So thank you Jesus

For all you did-

But help me grow,

For I'm still young,

I don't always do what I should.

And if there is one thing I know-

I can't do it alone,

Thank you for taking me home.
