Next thing Marinette knew, it was the night of the rehearsal dinner. Alya was wearing a dress with mid-length sleeves that was a nice burnt sienna color. Nino was wearing a pair of black slacks and a button-up in the same shade as Alya's dress. Adrien, on Nino's side, was wearing a pair of black slacks and a black button-up that looked remarkably similar to the one 'Chat Noir' wore the night she talked to him.

Marinette supposed it made sense. She recalled that Adrien had been wearing Agreste brand jeans the day that they had met. It shouldn't have surprised her that he would also own an Agreste brand button-up shirt. They weren't uncommon by any stretch of the imagination, in fact, Marinette would consider them a closet staple, but that's off-topic.

Marinette had been drinking for a while that evening. She was sober enough that she knew she shouldn't try to start a serious conversation with Adrien, but she was tipsy enough that she was feeling like having the conversation would be a good idea. The knowledge that it wasn't a good idea did almost nothing to dissuade her inner thoughts.

Adrien offered Marinette a ride home after the two of them helped Alya and Nino clean up from the reception. Nino came home with Adrien, knowing the superstition about not seeing his fiancée on the day of their wedding. The plan was for Alya's mom to pick up Marinette with Alya's dress the morning of the wedding, so Marinette went to sleep as soon as she could.

Adrien texted Marinette that night, knowing that she was going to be going to sleep as soon as she could. 'I hope you sleep well tonight, princess. I'll see you at the wedding tomorrow. Good luck, I love you.' After he sent the text, he put on his pajamas and went into the living room to spend some more time with Nino, knowing the two of them could sleep in a little in the morning.

While the two of them were hanging out, Adrien decided not to wear his glasses, knowing he didn't really need to see anything with clarity that evening. Plagg took that as permission to mess with his glasses, he knocked them off of Adrien's nightstand and he started batting them around.

After a while, Plagg decided he was done pushing them around on the floor and decided to start attacking them more aggressively. He started chewing on the plastic rims and the arms, creating divots and scratchy pieces of plastic. When Adrien went into his bedroom to go to sleep that night, he saw the edge of his glasses poking out from under his bed.

He picked them up and winced at their condition. They would look terrible in the wedding pictures and they would be uncomfortable to wear for the full day. "Hey, I think I'm gonna need to wear my contacts for your wedding," Adrien called out to Nino. "That okay? Plagg trashed my glasses."

"Should be fine. Let me double check with Alya," Nino called out in response. He texted his fiancée.

'I can't believe your best man is going to be prettier than both of us at our wedding. Smh' was the first reply he got from her, causing a smile to blossom on his face. A moment later, another message came through from her. 'That's fine, though. I'll see you at the venue. I love you!' He texted her that he loves her too.

"It's fine with her. Go for it." Adrien let out a sigh of relief and put his glasses into a drawer where Plagg, Adrien's personal little god of destruction and chaos, couldn't ruin them any further.

The next morning, Marinette practically rolled out of bed still half asleep at 07h45. She saw the text from Adrien and smiled, planning to respond back to him in the car on the way to the wedding, but for now she needed to shower, brush her teeth, and get everything ready for her to go to the venue.

She put Alya's dress and her own maid of honor dress into some garment bags for the ride to the wedding hall. She got outside just in time for Alya's maman to pull up outside of her building. She got into the car and hung up both of the bags before they went to the bridal suite of the wedding venue.

While she was in the car, Marinette responded to Adrien's text. 'I love you too. I hope you have fun today. See you at the ceremony. Make sure Nino's ready and staying calm, I know he can get worried sometimes. Text me if either of you need anything, my knight.'

She put her phone into her purse and tried to relax for the rest of her time in the car. She was going to try to stay off of her phone until after the ceremony and most of the reception, but she had it set up so that she would only get notifications from Adrien's and Nino's numbers, just in case.

Marinette went to the bridal suite with Alya and her maman. Ella and Etta were already in the bridal suite, wearing pastel seafoam robes with the word 'Bridesmaid' embroidered across the back for each of them. Alya went and grabbed the pastel orange robe with 'Bride' embroidered across the back. Marinette grabbed her 'Maid of Honor' robe and put it on.

Etta was the first to have her hair and makeup done while Marinette poured mimosas for the rest of the bridal party. The four girls, and Mme. Césaire cheersed Alya and Nino's wedding and there were no dry eyes in the room. Juleka and Rose, who had been asked to do the hair and makeup for the wedding, were tearing up also.

After they finished with Etta's makeup, Juleka and Rose were offered a mimosa each and they both agreed to a glass of orange juice, not wanting to accidentally risk messing up anyone's looks before the ceremony. Sabine showed up with a plate of pastries for the girls to eat while they got ready for the ceremony before she had to go to Le Grand Palais to prepare the croquembouche.

Ella's hair and makeup was done after Etta's and the two of them sat on the chaise in the room, snacking on pastries while they waited for Marinette's permission to put on their dresses. They were talking about the wedding and the fact that they had been a pain in Alya and Nino's butts for most of their childhood.

Marinette sat down on the chair and Juleka put her hair into an updo with a braid that was twisted around to look like a rose, then had a few small fake flower blooms within the coil of the braid. Marinette and Alya had been talking about the hair designs with Juleka for weeks leading up to the wedding and it looked even better than Marinette ever thought it could.

She went and ate a few pastries with Ella and Etta while Alya had her hair and makeup done. By the time Alya's makeup was done, the rest of the bridal party was trying not to cry at Alya's radiance. The girls put on their dresses before they helped Alya step into her dress. Marinette helped Alya zip up the dress, being careful with the creation.

The four of them finished getting ready for the wedding by about 40 minutes before the ceremony and Marinette was impressed by the fact that she hadn't heard from Adrien at all since he had texted her while she was asleep. She hoped that meant something good, but hope was all she was really able to do at that point.

Meanwhile, Adrien was helping Nino prepare for his wedding day. Nino was freaking out all morning. The ceremony was meant to be at 13h00 and the guys arrived at the wedding hall at 09h30 because Nino wouldn't stop walking around Adrien's apartment, stressing about being late.

As the best man, Adrien had a bit more to do at home before going into the wedding hall. Nino took a shower while Adrien put together a briefcase of everything that they would need for the ceremony that afternoon. In addition to the marriage certificate and rings, Adrien packed a deck of cards and a few small bottles of liquor.

He was hopeful that Nino wouldn't need the liquor, but he would rather be over-prepared than under-prepared, plus if they didn't drink before the wedding, they could always have the liquor at the reception. Adrien also made sure that his best man speech was tucked away in a waterproof pocket of the briefcase, where he was certain there was no chance of it getting ruined.

Adrien saw Marinette's text when he woke up that morning and was avoiding sending her a response in case it would accidentally make her stressed. He wanted to tell her about how his day was going. He wanted to tell her about his morning with Nino and about everything that he was doing in preparation and to keep Nino calm that day. He put in his contacts right before they left for the venue.

The two men went over to the building where the wedding was held and they arrived before either of the groomsmen, not that that was surprising to them. They would have been surprised if Kim or Noël had arrived at the venue before either of them. The first person who showed up at the groom's suite was Kim, who was holding his garment bag when he arrived.

Noël was the last groomsman to arrive, joined by M. Lahiffe whose eyes were filled with tears at the knowledge that his son was getting married. Nino's dad hugged him tightly while Adrien went over to the en suite bathroom to get changed into his tuxedo first. When he came out, he was surprised to see that Tom was standing in the middle of the suite with a tray of pastries.

"You're looking dashing, son," Tom greeted when Adrien came out of the bathroom. When Adrien walked over to him, Tom enveloped him in a hug with a bright smile on his face. Tom looked as though he was about to start crying, emotional enough that if Adrien didn't know, he would have thought Tom's own son was getting married.

The look of joy on Tom's face made Adrien start to tear up as well. Adrien didn't think he was supposed to be crying that early in the day, but the joy in the room was making him feel filled with love and he couldn't stop the tears that were starting to slip out of his eyes. This was an amount of love he hadn't grown up around and he never wanted to lose the love around him at that moment.

Tom left soon after that to set up the croquembouche tower at the reception and Adrien told him to say hi to Sabine for him. Adrien had the cufflinks Marinette gave him in his briefcase, but he didn't want to put them on until it was time to go out because he was worried about accidentally scuffing them. Nino was the next to get changed and he looked just as nice in the tux as he did at the last fitting.

Adrien tied Nino's bowtie, then took a picture of Nino in the tuxedo and posted it to his personal Instagram account, planning to post a photo of himself with Nino or with him and Alya, maybe even the two of them and Marinette later that night to the official Agreste brand Instagram later to drum up hype about the MDC/Agreste collab that he had been speaking with Marinette about earlier that year. He tagged the MDC Official Instagram page and hoped that it wouldn't bother Marinette.

She didn't even get the notifications because they came from Instagram which was locked for the day. Kim was the third to put on his tux which was followed up by Adrien tying his bowtie and adjusting his cumperbund until it sat like he knew it was supposed to. The same happened to Noël when he stepped back into the suite in his tuxedo. They still had about an hour until the wedding once they were ready.

Nino was pacing, stressed out of his mind because he was worried about something going wrong. Adrien sat Nino down on one side of a table and took out the deck of cards that was in his bag. He took a sharpie and offered to show Nino a magic trick. Nino picked a card and Adrien took it from him.

He asked Nino to close his eyes and wrote a 'secret message' on a playing card, then silently called over Kim and Noël to sign the card. He gave Nino permission to open his eyes and Adrien dealt the cards in a specific way that didn't let Nino see the secret message. He asked which row Nino's card was in, 1, 2, or 3. He dealt the cards like that a few times before switching the dealing into a different form with 3 cards per pile.

Adrien asked Nino to point to 2 piles and Nino chose the pile that was dealt in the middle and the immediate next pile. Adrien scooped up the rest of the piles and put the cards to the side where they wouldn't interfere with the magic trick. Adrien asked Nino to choose a pile, which Adrien promptly got rid of.

The final pile was separated into 3 cards and Adrien asked Nino to choose one card. When Nino chose the card, Adrien asked him if it was his card. Nino picked up the Queen of Hearts which had been photoshopped to be an image of Alya.

'This isn't your card, but it's your girl. The wedding isn't going to get better because you're sitting here stressing yourself out. We love you, mec, and so does Alya. Just keep your head on straight until you get down the aisle. -Adrien, Kim, Noël'

Nino's eyes welled with tears again as he looked between the men next to him. Nino's card, the 7 of Clubs, was sitting next to where he picked up the Queen of Hearts, but Nino hardly noticed it. The magic trick managed to kill about 15 minutes and Adrien knew he needed to make sure Nino was staying sane for the rest of their time in the suite.

"But what if we forgot-" Nino began, but Adrien raised his hand to silence his best friend who he knew was overreacting. Nino continued his question despite Adrien's attempt to protest. "The marriage certificate?" Adrien took it from his briefcase, showed it to Nino and immediately put it back. "The rings?" Adrien took out a velvet bag and poured both rings gently into Nino's hands.

Nino looked at the rings in his hands and tried to keep from crying again for the time being. The engravings were the date of his first date with Alya. He handed them back to Adrien with tears in his eyes and Adrien put them back into the bag and into his pocket until the ceremony. "My vows?" Adrien didn't have as easy of a solution, but Noël did.

Noël was apparently carrying around several copies of the vows that Nino had written for his fiancée. He handed a copy to Nino and a copy to Adrien, just in case something went wrong later and Nino somehow didn't have his copy ready. By the end of Nino's panicking, they only had about 10 minutes before they had to go downstairs for the ceremony.

Nino gave Adrien a hand putting his cufflinks on and Adrien couldn't help but smile at the gifts from his girlfriend. Nino didn't need a drink before the ceremony which made Adrien happy. He didn't know how much Nino had eaten that day and he was worried the liquor would be too strong for the ceremony.

The four men went downstairs soon enough and Adrien passed off his briefcase, carefully, to M. Lahiffe so he could have the marriage certificate when they needed to sign it. Adrien touched his pocket again, feeling the rings inside of their bag, and took them out of the bag, holding them in his hand until they were needed for the ceremony.

One of the twins walked in first, but Adrien didn't know them well enough to know if it was Ella or Etta. The other twin followed in after the first, but Adrien barely noticed. She was followed by the most beautiful woman Adrien had ever seen, Marinette. His girlfriend was walking down the aisle toward him and the feeling made his heart soar in his chest as he smiled brightly at her.

Marinette, on the other hand, was surprised as it seemed that M. Agreste was standing by Nino's side as his best man. Adrien was supposed to be the best man, right? That's why she met him in the first place, because Adrien was Nino's best man and they were supposed to work together as the right hand people for the ceremony and reception.

Marinette kept a careful look on her face to not express her confusion as she considered the situation. Adrien, Adrien, Adrien, her brain repeated that word over and over as she tried to think of what in the world Adrien's last name was. It would be crazy if she didn't know his last name, right? She'd known him for over a year, but the only name she could match with Adrien was Agreste.

She got to her place on the altar and turned around with a smile just in time to watch as the soon-to-be Mme. Césaire-Lahiffe made her entrance into the ceremony. Alya looked gorgeous in an ivory trumpet-shaped gown. It had an off-the-shoulder top and the sleeves came down to nearly her elbow. She had her hair back in a French twist with some loose hair framing her face.

Her bouquet was filled with white roses and her veil's headpiece looked almost like it was a tiara sitting on top of her head. Nino was stunned, but not surprised by how amazing his soon-to-be wife looked in her dress. He already had tears welling in his eyes again and Marinette could see the pools of liquid forming in Alya's eyes.

Otis kissed Alya's cheek before he passed her off to Nino, who escorted her the remainder of the way to the altar. Alya handed her bouquet to Marinette and they began the ceremony. Nora announced that Nino and Alya had chosen to write their own vows for the and neither of them were able to move to get their prepared vows, too captivated by the person in front of them.

Marinette pulled a folded-up sheet from a secret pocket in the far side of her dress and handed it to Alya just as Adrien reached around his best friend to give Nino his in addition to passing off both of the wedding rings. Nora told Nino to go first, so he took a deep breath and began reading from his prepared vows.

"Alya Rena Césaire," Nino began, "I have loved you for the last 12 years of my life and I vow to continue to love you every day for the rest of our lives together. You're my partner and my best friend and there's no one else I would rather have by my side throughout anything that life may throw at us."

"I vow to support you in anything that you do, even if you quit your job to fulfill your childhood dream of being a superhero. I'll put on a supersuit and follow you into battle if you ask me to because I want to be the person that you can lean on for this day and into the rest of our future together."

"I don't know how I convinced a woman as beautiful, and courageous, and intelligent, and amazing as you to fall in love with me. I vow to find out how and spend the rest of our lives reminding you why you fell in love with me and to show you every day why I fell in love with you."

"I vow to always be honest with you, Alya. Not just because you're a reporter and I'm a terrible liar." He paused so that people could laugh at his joke. "I vow to be honest because if I can't be honest with you, my love, my other half, there's no one I'd be able to be honest with. Mostly, though, I vow to treat you like a queen, the only way you deserve to be treated."

Alya visibly wanted to kiss him, but she was crying the entire time he was reading his vows. Marinette returned to her secret pocket again and retrieved a tissue for Alya to clean up her crying before she could get started on her own vows. Adrien also reached into his pocket and offered a tissue to Nino who wiped up the tears he spilled during his speech then he held it in preparation for Alya's vows. Nino placed Alya's ring onto her finger.

Alya took a deep breath of her own. "Nino Raphael Lahiffe," she began, but she was already starting to cry a little bit and her voice was cracking. She channeled her inner news anchor and took another breath. "You were the second friend I made when I moved to Paris and you've been my partner ever since. I vow to keep being your partner for the rest of our lives together."

"I vow to be honest with you about everything, from if I don't like one of your mixes to my superhero secret identity." There were a few scattered chuckles at that comment as it matched up with the vow Nino made. "There's no one on this earth that I would rather have as my partner than you, Nino."

"I vow to prove to you every reason I've fallen in love with you for the past 12 years of my life and I vow to fall in love with you more every day as we live out our future together. I vow to spend the rest of my life showing off the kind, handsome, funny, charismatic, loving man that I'm marrying to anyone and everyone who is willing to listen to me for even a minute.

"Nino, I vow to you right now that I will be by your side through everything that life may throw at us and get off my phone for at least an hour a day to spend just with you, talking to you, falling in love with you more and more every day for the rest of our lives." Alya placed Nino's ring onto his finger.

There were no dry eyes in the ceremony as everyone watched Alya and Nino exchange vows. Nora pronounced them as husband and wife and the two shared the kiss they'd been waiting for since Alya walked in. Nino dipped Alya before she had the chance to dip him, then he scooped her up and ran out of the church with her in his arms to the hoots and hollers of their friends and family.

Marinette linked her arm through Adrien's as they practiced at the rehearsal and they began the recessional line. Adrien… it had to be Adrien, right? There's no way it would be M. Agreste because that would be weird. There's no reason Nino's best man would be M. Agreste.

Adrien's eyes were puffy from crying at Alya and Nino's vows and Marinette was certain she wasn't faring much better than he was. "Text me when you're ready to head over to the reception, princess," Adrien said, leaning over to place a soft kiss on her temple. They both went back to their respective suites to get everything cleaned up and ready to go to Le Grand Palais for the reception.
