Kamado Nezuko doesn't remember her first life, not after she is transformed into a demon.

She doesn't remember being Haruno Sakura in that moment when the demon attacks her siblings and mother.

She doesn't remember being a strong kunoichi until it was far too late to save her family.

When she suddenly regains consciousness the next day after the slaughter, she has remembered a lifetime of memories as Haruno Sakura but it is already too late for that.

The next thing she does is mourn for her loss.

If I remembered my life from before, I could have saved them. She thinks regretfully to herself as she buries her family one by one with the sun beating down on her back.

Aside from my old memories as Haruno Sakura, I have also gotten the memories of the demon who killed my family. And the only reason I know I am a demon is because of that. She inwardly says. However, I don't know why the sun doesn't hurt me at all or why I haven't wandered off to eat humans…It's probably because I have chakra in my veins from what I notice. It might be because of that that I am different from the other demons.

After she buries all her family, she stands there staring at the graves, feeling detached from all of it.

I feel numb somehow from all that happened…like everything that happened is unreal. I must still be in shock. However, all the wounds that I have acquired from the attack last night have been healed after my transformation. So it's not blood loss that I am feeling this way. She thinks.

She returns back to the house and waits for Tanjirou to arrive. In the meantime, she cleans all the blood stains from the walls and floor just to keep her mind occupied and to prevent her from wallowing in self-pity and regret.

A few hours later, she just prop the broken shoji doors to the side when she suddenly hears the soft footfalls on the snow with her supernatural hearing and she braces herself to face her brother.

She slowly goes outside and meets Tanjirou half-way to the house.

"Nezuko! I am back!"

She hears her brother say in a happy tone and Nezuko's spirit sinks when she hears it.

She doesn't know how to deliver the terrible news about her siblings' and mother's demise to her brother.

As Tanjirou draws near, Nezuko can finally smell him and feels her mouth waters with saliva at the scent of him.

"Don't come any closer, Tanjirou!" She orders as she takes a step back from her brother. She still needs to control her baser instincts and she can only do that through sheer will alone.

"Nezuko, what's wrong?" Tanjirou asks as he pauses mid-step.

"Just don't come any closer!" She tells him as she covers her nose with her hand.

She watches as Tanjirou stares at her in complete puzzlement.

Then, all of sudden, Tanjirou sniffs the air. Nezuko notices the way Tanjirou's face becomes alarmed when he looks at her.

"Nezuko, why do I smell blood on you? Did something happen? Are you alright?" he asks her in obvious worry.

Nezuko can only gaze at her brother in sadness and distress while she finally delivers the terrible news.

"Yes, something did happen Tanjirou while you were gone last night," She starts and prepares herself for her brother's reaction.

"What is it Nezuko? Are mother and the others alright?" Her brother inquires in clear trepidation.

"Tanjirou….mother and the others are gone…" She says to Tanjirou softly. Even saying the words out loud felt like her heart is being wrench apart as she gazes at her older brother with glistening tears in her eyes.

"What do you mean by that Nezuko? Do you mean mother and the others left?" comes her brother's next query.

"No, Tanjirou. I mean they are gone…as in dead," She clarifies.

"If you are joking Nezuko, this isn't funny at all!" Her brother suddenly burst out sharply and angrily.

"I am not joking Tanjirou! Mother and the others are really dead!" She finally snaps and feels the tears falling freely down her face as she says this while she can feel like her heart is being squeezed by an invisible hand when she remembers what happens to the rest of her family.

At her words, Nezuko watches as Tanjirou runs towards the house and begins calling for her family.

"Okasan! Takeo! Hanako! Shigeru! Rokuta!"

She hears her brother call out and can only feel immense remorse and agony when she thinks about her dead siblings and mother.

Tanjirou continues to call out for the rest of their family. However, when Tanjirou walks into the backyard and sees the graves there, Nezuko lets out a breath when her brother whirls on her with a look of pure horror and shock on his face.

"Nezuko?" her brother asks uncertainty with his face full of questions. "What happened last night?"

She carefully walks towards him just as she notes the unshed tears gathering in his eyes.

"A demon came last night and attacked us, Tanjirou. I am the only survivor," she informs him softly and observes the way Tanjirou's face turns alarmed and disbelieving.

"A demon?"

"Yes, a demon…" She says and then she begins to recount the events that happened last night and can only watch in complete sorrow when her brother finally breaks down and cries.

As Nezuko watches her older brother cry in total misery, she silently vows to herself to protect her remaining family, to protect her beloved older brother, even from herself.

She also promises herself to avenge her family by finding the demon again who has turned her and killed the rest of her family.

She vows to find the one responsible for turning her and her brother into an orphan and make certain that he will rue the day he ever stepped foot into the Kamado household.

Kamado Nezuko promises to bathe in the demon's blood and relish in his agonized screams when she finally sees him again.

She expects her future to be full of conflict and pain but she is ready for it.

After all, she has seen far too much in her previous life to be taken by surprise again by this one.

She is Haruno Sakura and Kamado Nezuko at the same time.

And she is not defenseless.

With chakra and her demonic blood, she can accomplish anything even defeating the most powerful of the demons.

She is prepared for the bloodshed in the horizon and she won't stop at nothing to accomplish her goals, not even the leader of the demons Kibutsuji Muzan can stop her.
