Jey turned on the flashlight on his phone and started walking down the stairs.

"I don't like this," Naomi said.
"I'll be up soon," Jimmy said.
"You're not fucking leaving me here!" Naomi hissed.
"Guys, you gotta come see this!" Jey yelled.

Jimmy, Naomi and Audrina also turned on the flashlights on their phones and went down the stairs. Down in the basement were a lot of old things. A shrine, books, weird things in jars, different items that could be used for witchcraft.

"She was real," Jey said. "I fucking knew it!"

They all walked around looking at the items. Audrina walked over to a book and opened it.

"I think I found her diary," Audrina said.
"What does it say?" Jey asked.
"They killed my beautiful butterflies and they're expecting me to leave. I will leave this place but I won't go far. I will go into town and walk among them without them knowing. I will never leave. I will never die. I will take out my revenge on them one by one. Whenever a body is old and has to leave this earth, I will find a new one to continue with," Audrina said.

Audrina looked up and found three faces that looked uncomfortable.

"Are you saying an old witch has been human hopping for several hundred years and is still killing people without our knowledge?" Naomi asked.
"We do have some missing people cases that have never been solved," Jimmy said.
"I am not fucking staying in this house!" Naomi said loudly.

Naomi ran up the stairs and out of the cabin. Her scream reached all three of them seconds later.

"Naomi!" Jimmy yelled.

They bolted up the stairs and out of the cabin. The sun was setting and it would have been a beautiful moment if it wasn't for all the bodies hanging from the trees. Judging by the clothes they were wearing, they were from different decades and centuries.

"The butterflies," Naomi cried. "These are the people she's killed so far. This is why they're never found. They're still hanging here and she somehow covers it up when people come here."

Naomi looked at Jey. He opened and closed his mouth. He had no idea what to say.

"That basement has never been reported on because anyone finding it has never made it back to town," Naomi said. "I don't care if we get lost in the forest. We're leaving."
"Let me get our stuff," Jimmy said.
"Fuck our stuff!" Naomi yelled. "We need to get out now!"
"It'll just take a second," Jimmy said. "Help me, Jey."

Jimmy and Jey ran back into the cabin to grab all of their bags. Naomi turned to look at Audrina who was smiling.

"Aren't you scared?" Naomi asked.
"No," Audrina answered. "You should be scared though."
"What?" Naomi whispered.
"It's so easy to whisper in your ears and make you come here with me," Audrina said.

Naomi took a step back. She opened her mouth to scream but nothing came out. Instead she felt a tree branch around her throat. It tightened and pulled her up to hang in a tree. She struggled to get free while Audrina stood there smirking at her.

"Naomi!" Jimmy screamed. "What the fuck is going on?"

Jimmy and Jey ran past Audrina to try and get Naomi down. There was nothing they could do. Naomi was too high up in a tree. Jey turned around to look at Audrina. A butterfly came flying out from inside the cabin. Audrina lifted her hand, and the butterfly landed on her index finger.

"Audrina?" Jey asked nervously.
"One more set free," Audrina said. "Two more to go."
"Jimmy, we gotta go," Jey said.
"But Naomi," Jimmy whimpered.
"We gotta go! It's Audrina! She's the witch!" Jey screamed.

Jimmy turned around to look at Audrina. The butterfly took off from her finger but landed in her hair instead. The twins turned to run but they didn't get far. Tree branches wrapped around their throats as well and pulled them up in a tree to hang side by side. Like Naomi had done seconds earlier, they struggled to breathe and get free while Audrina stood there smirking at them. Soon they stopped struggling and two more butterflies came flying out from the cabin. They too landed in her hair next to the first one.

"Welcome back, my lovelies," she said.

She walked back inside the cabin and took a quick look around. The trap door closed and the couch moved back to its original position. She walked back outside with the bags sliding after her as if someone invisible was dragging them. She walked around the cabin and an old well appeared. The bags disappeared down into the bottomless hole. The same place where every other bag over the years had gone. She walked back inside the cabin and looked around at the few butterflies still drawn on the wall.

"Soon, my lovelies," she said. "I will not abandon any of you. Soon you will all be free, and we shall once again claim this forest as our own."
