Now, let's resume our tale!

The Journey's End

Two weeks later…

'Okay, how fucking far is this place?!' Gavin thought as he stared at the arrow in front of them, which was pointing straight again. 'We've been walking for who knows how many miles!' He continued, before he looked over at Clawnor, who was currently in puppy form, running around them as they walked. 'But at least it hasn't been boring.'

Indeed, the trip had not been boring. On the second day, they had encountered a patch of very big Venus Flytraps that were quite still. Things were looking great as they walked through the patch of flytraps, but then Clawnor marked his territory on one of them, and that apparently was enough to piss them off. They had to book it through the patch and dodge the attacking flytraps, with Gavin carrying the werewolf child in his arms as they ran.

They managed to get away from the flytrap patch with only a couple scratches, and things seemed to settle down for the day. But for the rest of the time, they came across obstacle after obstacle, which usually got irritated or activated by Clawnor accidentally. They all varied as well, with not one being the same as the previous one, and it sometimes took them a few days to get through them. A few were quite memorable. One memorable one was the weird mud pit that periodically shot up muddy geysers at the large tree that went over it, splashing them with mud and making the tree very slippery. Another was a large patch of sundew plants, in which Meowlody, Purrsephone, and Clawnor all got stuck and needed help to get out. A third memorable obstacle occurred as they went up the slope of a cliff, with Clawnor sneezing loudly while waiting at the top for the others to arrive, knocking the boulder he was against over the edge and causing a rockslide that Gavin, Meowlody, and Purrsephone barely managed to escape.

When they weren't trying to get through obstacles though, they talked with each other, learning many things about each other, such as that the high school Clawnor's family lived at was called Monster High, and that his sister Clawdeen was big into fashion. And he played with Clawnor to help him stay entertained and not focus on how worried his family most likely was.

"I hope we get to Monster High soon," Meowlody said as she looked at herself with a frown, Purrsephone doing the same thing. "We desperately need a bath."

"No kidding," Gavin replied as he looked at himself. Mud was caked to his legs and shoes, blurring the colors. "We all do," He continued as he looked at Clawnor as he ran around them with a wagging tail. Clawnor was covered from head to tail in mud that dripped, a side effect of the last obstacle they'd had to go through, which had been a mud wallow they'd had to wade through. "You most of all."

At that, Clawnor yipped, before he ran and grabbed a stick. He then brought it over to Gavin, who smiled. "Fetch again?" he asked Clawnor as he grabbed the stick and pulled it back, knowing that it was in fact his favorite game. "Alright. Fetch!" He said as he tossed the stick forward, making it disappear through the trees and causing Clawnor to go run after it. "Heh, he's so full of energy," He continued as he watched Clawnor run ahead and disappear from sight. "You'd think that after wading through that wallow he'd be a bit tired."

"He's a pup," Meowlody replied. "They always have lots of energy."

"Until they don't and they take a nap," Purrsephone added as she shook off another glob of mud from her hair.

"Right, right," Gavin said, before sighing as he looked down, remembering something he'd been thinking about earlier.

"What's wrong Gavin?" Meowlody asked him with concern.

"Where do we go after we get him home?" Gavin asked her. "They probably won't let us stay there. Well, they'll let you, but probably not me," He continued. "What do we do?"

"I don't know," Meowlody replied after several seconds. "We'll figure it out though. Don't worry."

Gavin opened his mouth to respond but was prevented from doing so when he heard a loud howl up ahead, making his eyes widen. "Clawnor!" He yelled as he ran forward, while the twins hurried after him, shoes in hand.

After running for several seconds, he reached a large clearing, and his eyes widened. There, standing on a large rock in the center of the clearing, was Clawnor in his puppy form. Slithering towards him from all sides were several firetruck red and neon blue snakes.

"Clawnor!" Gavin yelled as the twins arrived, before he ran forward into the clearing. "I'm coming!" He'd grown quite attached to the trouble-prone pup over the past two weeks, and he wouldn't let Clawnor get hurt if he could help it. As Gavin ran towards the rocks, some of the snakes saw him or sensed him and slithered away. But two large snakes remained, and continued to slither towards Clawnor, with one starting to get on the rock. "Oh no you don't!" he yelled at them as he ran forward and grabbed Clawnor in his arms, before he turned and started to run off, only to let out a yell of pain as he felt sharp fangs sink into his left calf and right forearm. "Gah!"

The twins let out gasps of fright and worry as they saw that one red snake and one blue snake had bitten Gavin and were holding onto him.

"Get…off!" Gavin growled as he reached the edge of the clearing and set Clawnor on the ground, before he yanked the snakes off and tossed them into the clearing. "And git!" He yelled at them as he took a photo of the snakes, before he turned to Clawnor. "Are you alright Clawnor? Any bites?" He asked the pup, who turned back to his human self and shook his head. "Oh thank goodness!" Gavin said with relief. "That's good to hear!"

"But you're bit!" Clawnor replied as he pointed at the bite on his arm.

"Yeah, I am," Gavin said as he looked at the wounds, which consisted of two small holes in the skin. "Man, they got me good. I really hope their venom isn't that bad," He continued, before he looked around and soon spotted a large stick. "That should work," he said as he walked over and grabbed the stick, which had a natural fork at the top.

"Work for what?" Meowlody asked him.

"For a crutch," Gavin replied as he set the fork underneath his armpit of his non-bitten arm and rested his weight on it. He then leaned on the stick and started to walk forward. "Since those snakes got me in the leg, I need to keep it as still as possible and below my heart, and a crutch can help with that. I also need to keep my injured arm still," He continued. "Now let's go, and pray that his home is nearby," He said as he started to walk after the arrow, which was now pointing right of the clearing. 'Please don't get worse. Please don't get worse.'

It got worse.

By the time they'd stopped for the night, his arm was feeling quite cold, while his leg was feeling very warm. It also hurt to touch the wound sites.

As the twins slept on either side of him, holding him tightly, Gavin sat up against a tree trunk, while Clawnor slept on his lap.

"I hope we get there soon," Gavin muttered as he looked up at the half moon in the sky. "I really do. For his sake," He said as he looked at Clawnor. "And for mine," He continued before he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

A couple days later…

"I'm hungry," Clawnor complained as they walked through the forest, having just finished crossing a large stream that was surprisingly deep. It had not been easy, as Gavin's leg was feeling extremely warm, making him want to move it around and hope that the movement would somehow cool it off. His arm was getting colder as well, and the feelings were growing, as the cold was now in his entire arm and just getting past his shoulder, while the heat had taken up his entire leg and was reaching up his side.

"I know," Gavin replied as Purrsephone and Meowlody helped him along, as the stick had given way just before the stream. "I think there's some ham left," He continued, before he looked at the blue orb and said, "Ham please."

A small glowing orb flew out and into Clawnor's hand, before it dissipated, revealing a couple thick slices of ham.

"I think that's all that's left, Clawnor," Gavin said to the kid. "Sorry."

"It's not your fault," Clawnor replied before he quickly ate up the ham. "You gave me as much meat as you could."

"Yeah, I did," Gavin replied, before he vomited again, causing bile to flow out of his mouth. That symptom had appeared the previous day, as had the sweating. "Ugh, I hope we're almost there. You smell or see anything familiar?" he asked Clawnor as they slowly walked.

"I don't think so," Clawnor replied as he looked around, before he took a deep sniff. Then, his eyes widened. "Wait, I smell something," he said as he took another sniff.

"What is it?" Gavin asked Clawnor.

"I'm not quite sure," He replied. "But it smells pretty familiar."

"Well, let's follow it," Gavin said to him. "Maybe you'll remember what the smell is as we go," He suggested, prompting Clawnor to nod before he turned into a pup and ran to the right, which was the direction the purple arrow was pointing.

As they followed Clawnor, the trees started to get more and more spaced out. Then, Clawnor changed back to his human form. "It's definitely getting stronger," he said to them as he slowed to a walk. "We're getting closer."

"Good," Gavin replied, before he dry heaved, this time nothing coming out. "That's real good."

A few minutes later, they stepped through some massive bushes and into a massive clearing, with the purple arrow disappearing, and Gavin gasped at what he saw.

There, sitting a good distance off, was a massive building that looked a bit like a castle colored in purple shades, with some black and grey shades mixed in. In the middle of it was a massive clock tower, with the clock itself being green in color. On either side of the clock tower were two slightly smaller towers. A fenced court could be seen on the left side, as well as several small tables that had umbrellas on them. On the right was another small tower. Five large ornate glass windows sat in the front of the building, with doors in the bottoms of the middle three of them, and large purple steps led up to the threshold doors. Sitting at the very top of the clock tower was a large logo. Said logo was a large shield that was half blue and purple, with multiple black stripes running through the purple half. A large white "M" sat in the middle, with a large white "H" fitting snuggly inside it.

"That's what I was smelling!" Clawnor said with a smile as he looked at the school. "It was the grass of the school!"

"We made it," Gavin said happily. "We made it!" he repeated with a laugh, happiness and relief on his face. "Yeah!"

The twins meowed happily with him, before they all started to move forward towards the school.

"So, how do you want to do this?" He asked Clawnor after a few minutes of walking. "You gonna howl for them? Run in and search for them? Sneak in and surprise them in your room?

"I think I'm gonna howl," Clawnor replied, making Gavin grin as they got closer to the steps.

"Then go ahead little man," He said to Clawnor, who grinned at the nickname Gavin had given him, one of a few he'd been given. Clawnor then turned into a pup, took a few steps forward, and let out a loud howl that was somewhat high-pitched.

"AROOOOO!"

He then stopped, and listened carefully for a response, before he howled again, a bit louder. "ARROOOOOOO!"

This time, there was a response.

"Arooo!" Multiple wolves howled back from inside the school.

"Here they come," Gavin said as he stood there with Meowlody and Purrsephone and watched the doors of Monster High. A couple minutes later, the doors flew open, and a couple werewolves in human form ran out, as did 8 werewolf pups and several students.

"Clawnor!" One of the humanoid werewolves shouted in a friendly and gentle female voice as she ran towards the pup, who ran towards her. She stood 5 foot 9 inches tall and appeared to be 35 years old. She was very curvy, with a large ass and large breasts. She was covered in brown fur, had short brown hair that made a little wave to the side of her head, and pale yellow eyes. She had on a gray sweater with lime green on the ends of the sleeves. A lime green shirt could bee seen sticking out of the bottom of her shirt and the side, as there were three tears in the side made to look like slash marks. She had long pink nails that looked quite sharp, a gold watch on her left wrist, and a silver ring. She also had on gray pants, brown shoes, and a blue and pale green scarf around her neck.

"Mama!" Clawnor said as he leaped at her, turning humanoid in the process. "Mommy!" He said again as he hugged her as hard as he could when he landed in her arms, with her doing the same to him, both crying hard.

"You're back!" She said as she hugged. "Oh I was so worried!" She continued.

"We all were," The other female werewolf said with a Brooklynn accent as she looked up at Clawnor. Said she wolf appeared to be 15 years old and stood about 5 foot 7 inches tall. She had long, dark-brown voluminous hair that went down to her waist and had purple streaks in it, golden-yellow eyes with small black slit pupils, long black thick eyelashes, and dark brown fur for "skin." Mauve-pink, purplish lipstick sat on her luscious lips, with her eyeshadow matching it. Her sharp nails, which looked more like claws, were painted a bright red, as were her toenails. Large fangs sat in her mouth, and her wolf-like ears had two gold piercings in each, with a small rip in the right one.

She wore a plain green shirt with elbow length sleeves, black leather pants, and open-toed, wedged black heels.

"What were you thinking taking the Mapalogue?" She began as she looked at Clawnor. "I told you never to-"

"Clawdeen, not now," The mother werewolf said to the younger female. "Let's just enjoy the moment. You can scold him later," She continued as she hugged her boy tightly, before kissing him on the cheeks several times. She continued to hug him for several seconds, before she spoke once more. "How'd you get back here?" She asked her son, who smiled.

"I had some help with my friends!" Clawnor replied before pointing at Gavin, Meowlody, and Purrsephone. "Say hi!"

"Hi!" The three replied, with Gavin weakly waving at them with his uninjured hand.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Wolf," Gavin said to the woman with a smile. "I'd bow out of politeness, but I'm currently…heheh, injured," he replied, sticking forward his bitten leg.

As soon as the mother wolf spotted the bite, she started to speak. "I need someone take him to the nurse," She said as she turned to the crowd of students, still holding Clawnor. "Immediately!" She stated firmly, causing several students to jump, before a couple students came forward and headed towards the three travelers.

One was a 15-year-old female vampire who stood 5 foot 6 inches tall and was somewhat thin and somewhat curvy. She had pale pink skin, pale purple eyes, and long black hair with pink streaks that was currently in pigtails. Her ears were pointy, she had two fangs sticking out the top of her mouth, and she had a small pink heart under her left eye. Deep pink lipstick sat on her lips and right on the crease of her eyelids was pink eyeshadow. She was wearing a pink and black dress with a black collar and a black skirt top, gray stockings, a pink bat-shaped necklace, sky-blue bat wing earrings, and pink and black sneakers with sky blue laces.

The other was what appeared to be the daughter or relative of Frankenstein's monster. She was 15 years old, stood 5 foot 7 inches tall, and was rather curvy, with a big butt and chest. She had mint-colored skin, and long, straight, white hair with black streaks. Stitches could clearly be seen on her neck, arms, and legs, with a smaller, stitched scar on her right cheek and two bolts on her neck. She also had a clear blue right eye and a bright green left one. An electric-blue, lightning-bolt-designed headband sat on her head, and silver streaks were in her hair. She wore gold screw earrings, a blue square top with a large yellow "F" on her left breast and stitched short white sleeves, a black necklace with a large black lightning bolt on it, a steel belt that had screws and lightning bolts on it, a black and blue checkered skirt that ended right above her knees, and black platform boots with screw designs in the backs and yellow laces.

As they approached, Meowlody and Purrsephone hissed at them, flicking their tails about. "Just show us the way," Meowlody said to the students.

"We can carry him," Purrsephone added.

"Are you sure?" The vampire replied, her voice sounding rather kind and sweet. "We can-"

"We can carry him," The two repeated, this time speaking together.

"Oookay then," The Frankenstein creature said, her voice sounding kind and energetic. "Follow us." She then turned and headed up the stairs.

"Here we go," Gavin said as they headed over to the stairs and he slipped his left arm off Meowlody's shoulder and grabbed the railing. He then slowly hopped up the stairs, wincing and hissing every time his injured leg bumped against a step.

When he reached the top of the stairs, Meowlody took his left arm once more. "Thanks Meowlody," Gavin said to her with a smile, doing his best to hold back the urge to dry heave, as his stomach was completely empty.

Meowlody smiled at him a bit, before her worried look returned, and they followed the Frankenstein monster and vampire into the school.

"Mommy, will Gavin be okay?" Clawnor asked his mom as he looked at the doors while they closed after the werecats and human.

"Who's Gavin?" Clawdeen asked her younger brother.

"The human," Clawnor replied. "Will he be okay Mommy?" he asked his mother again as he looked at her.

"I'm sure he will," His mother said to her child reassuringly. "Now, tell me, how'd you meet him?" She asked him, prompting him to start telling his story.

Meanwhile…

"Nurse Wesley, you have a patient," The vampire said as they walked into the nurse's office, which was tealish white in color and had several beds in it, a couple having white curtains around them to offer patients privacy.

"What is it Draculaura?" A female vampire said as she walked out from a nearby doorway. Said vampire had pale pink skin, a small nose, green eyes, short black hair that reached her shoulders and was put in a bun, and a rather skinny body. She was wearing a white nurse hat with a purple cross on the front, a white top that had a curved collar, and a white skirt and shoes. Upon seeing Gavin, she gasped. "Oh my! Get him on a bed immediately!" Nurse Wesley ordered the werecats, who nodded before they hurried him over to a bed and helped him get on it.

"Now, what bit him?" Nurse Wesley said as she ran over and pushed him down onto his back. "Rattlesnake? Mamba? Winged Rattlesnake? And how long ago?"

"Two days ago, and we don't know what they were," Meowlody replied, before Purrsephone pulled out Gavin's phone and opened it with Gavin's instructions. "But we did get a photo of them when he was bitten," She continued as Purrsephone opened up the Photos app and selected the photo of the two snakes, before showing the photo to the nurse.

When Nurse Wesley saw the firetruck red and blue snakes, she frowned. "That's a firefang serpent and a frostfang serpent," She said as she looked at the photo for a few more seconds. "They're big ones too."

"Can you heal him?" Meowlody asked Nurse Wesley with a pleading look on her face, Gavin looking at her with a hopeful look.

"I can," Nurse Wesley replied with a nod as she walked over to a nearby counter and grabbed a small white jar, before she walked back. "Firefang and frostfang venom is quite deadly, but slow-moving. I can whip up the cure for it in half an hour," She continued as she opened the jar and reached into it, before pulling out her hand, which was now holding a pinch of something. "Now then, you need to rest," She said to Gavin as she sprinkled some blue powder over him. "This sleep powder should help you out and keep you out for several hours."

"Thank you," Gavin replied as he felt his eyes get heavy with sleep. A few seconds later, he fell asleep.

"Now then, you all need to go," Nurse Wesley said to them as she set the jar down. When the two werecats opened their mouths to protest, she held a hand up. "I need to make the cure for him, and parts of the process are quite sensitive. I need complete silence and concentration, and I can't do that if you're in here staring at him."

"Alright, Nurse Wesley," Draculaura replied with a nod, before she turned her attention to the werecats. "Come on girls! There's no arguing with Nurse Wesley."

"Yeah, come on!" The Frankenstein relative added. "I'm sure you girls want to get washed up and eat."

At that, the twin werecats looked at each other, and nodded, before Meowlody spoke.

"Alright," She replied, sounding a bit sad. "If you say so," She continued, before she and her sister looked at Gavin once more. After a few seconds had passed, they then turned and started to walk out of the nurse's office, with Draculaura and the Frankenstein relative going with them.

"Okay then," Nurse Wesley said once they were gone. "I better get started on that cure," She continued, before she walked over to a small table that sat against the wall and had all sorts of lab and medical equipment on it. She then pulled out a large tome bound in black leather and opened it, before she turned the pages several times. "Here's the recipe," She said as she landed on a page titled "Firefang and Frostfang Serpent Antivenom." "Let's do this," She muttered to herself, before she started to get to work.
