Hello readers.
My name is PercyBlofisJackson. So, I had this idea after watching Marvel Studios' What If?
So, let's just dive into it.
CHAPTER 1: WHAT IF…. PERCY LOSES HIS SIGHT
Hello fellow readers. I am The Writer. I see realities far beyond any being in this vast multiverse could ever see. I see all, know all, but my oath stops me from interfering with them. Sometimes, I feel like I must meddle, like this one….
(Skip to Lightning Thief, the part where Percy fights Minotaur for the first time)
In this reality, Zeus' lightning Bolt was not stolen, but instead Zeus found out Percy is his brother's alleged demi-child. And he will do anything to stop him from being the Prophecy child So…
(Percy POV)
I remember feeling weightless, like I was being crushed, fried, and hosed down all at the same time. I peeled my forehead off the back of the driver's seat and said, "Ow." "Percy!" my mom shouted. "I'm okay.…"
I did not know what was happening. One moment I was confused and Mom was telling me about some camp my absent dad wanted me to go…. And all of a sudden, I feel crushed, like literally I'm under something.
I tried my way out to come out of the car, but all I could see was darkness. Like, I'm talking pitch black dark. I heard my mom shouting and someone pulling me from all the wreckage (assuming by all the weight on me, It's Gabe's Camaro. Oops...
Once I am out of the wreckage, I heard Grover saying something to get away and run forward, but where, like I can't see him pointing!
"Dude it's way too dark for me to see you pointing to the damn camp of yours". "What are you saying Percy, I am literally pointing you- Oh!" Something made him stop. He called my mom to check on me, like I had some disease.
"Percy, look at me," said my mom. Where are you mom? Why am I not able to see? Did I just go Blind or what ….? Oh. No.
"Mom, where are you?" "Percy, I'm right here, my boy. Percy, oh my God, I don't know how to tell you this but…" "I am blind, aren't I?" She didn't say anything, making my doubts confirm.
"MOOOO!"
"What was that?" "Percy, that's Pasiphae's son" "You mean the Min..." "Names have power baby. Here's the plan, I'll divert his attention and Grover will take you to the Camp."
How can I even agree to this? My mom's in danger and I can't save her.
"Mom please…." "Percy, listen to me, no matter what happens, I will always be with you. Never lose hope"
Before I could say something, Grover pulled me with him to the direction of Camp I suppose.
I heard my mom's screams, and the thunder cracked. Call it a sixth sense or something, I felt that my mother is no more. It just isn't right. What did she do to suffer such a terrible fate?
I was helpless. My mom is dead because of that bull.
Suddenly, my sadness turned into rage and I pulled myself out of Grover's clutches and ran towards where I think that bull was. I headed and did something I didn't even know was possible.
I climbed onto him and just snapped one of the horns on his head, and just stabbed him.
I felt him turn to dust, just like Mrs. Dodds the Fury did.
I killed him; I killed a monster …. who killed my mom. My mom. Oh God. I felt like crying, to just lie down and die right here. At least I'll be with my mom. But then, I remembered what her last words were.
"Percy, listen to me, no matter what happens, I will always be with you. Never lose hope"
I promised her I would not lose hope. Grover caught up with me.
"Did you just… Oh my gods. Percy, are you okay?"
I was too tired to answer him and the last thing I know was I fainted. Great.
In this reality, Percy mourned for Sally Jackson, his mother, and he never forgot his promise. Never lose hope. He felt useless being a son of Olympian, and decided he would never feel helpless ever again, and that he would do his best to help the needy.
One can say that even losing his sight, he never lost his morals.
Percy found out Luke was the traitor, but also understood his dilemma, and helped him see (no pun intended) the bigger picture. Luke realized his mistakes before tragedy strikes.
Percy practiced day and night now that he was a year- round camper. He once went with Luke to his home to collect his late mother's belongings and all her memories with him. He said goodbye to that old home, for good.
Percy found out a way to almost see his surroundings. Water. It's all around him. He just needs to focus and he can see water molecules around him. It's not much, but it's something he can take advantage of.
He learnt quickly and this acted like a radar system for him and this has helped him get away with many traps as he was practically immune to Mist as he is blind.
Percy, Annabeth and Luke went to the Sea of monsters to find Grover.
They let Clarisse return with the Golden Fleece to the camp as it was her quest, and they were cornered by the monsters.
With the intel Luke had while working for the Titan King, they were able to convince gods to not overlook this threat and to work on it. Gods understood their mistake to neglect this and made further plans to protect Olympus.
They manage to put Atlas back holding the sky. Thalia and Luke fell in love with each other, and so she didn't join the hunters.
Percy using his powers, help find and protect the newly demigods from monsters and safely brought them to camp.
Bianca didn't die, but Artemis took her under the Hunters, with Zoe as the lieutenant. Nico was sad but Percy took care of Nico like an elder brother should. Nico trained within camp, along with Percy and mastered the art of shadows.
And in all these events, Percy did not forget his mother's last words: Never Lose Hope. And so, he never did. A warrior, a friend, a brother, a son. Percy Jackson was all those because he did not give up and lose hope. A blind scared kid found his way to be useful in the world. Only because he did not lose hope. He turned a great inspiration for many. A selfless legend respected by all & looked upon by many.
Alas, our warrior has reached his end.
A fatal battle wound on his chest during the Giant War, while saving his allies and family, with a smile on his face. He was 16. The prophecy is fulfilled.
A son of the eldest gods, reached 16 against all odds. His single choice was the one that saved all of the world. For Olympus to reign triumph.
For the first time in many years, the son of Poseidon opened his eyes and he saw sky, and trees, and people. Kids running around, skipping more likely.
He was dead. He realized this was Elysium, where he wanted to go once, he was dead. He ran towards the source of the smell of blue cookies, and saw his mother after so many years.
He did not care for anything else. Sally saw him coming towards him. She opened her arms to welcome her hero. After so many years, he finally met his mother, and together, they rejoiced, cried, ate cookies, and shared stories.
He was happy, but sad for leaving the upper world. But he was content in meeting them again, with open arms and blue cookies. For our hero has finally felt peace after so many hurdles. And even with all those difficulties, our hero didn't forget his mother's words. And he will be forever remembered as the Kind warrior who never gave up and never lost hope.
How was it? I literally bawled my eyes out while writing this chapter. It was hard, and I wanted Percy to have the well needed peace. Do let me know in the comments, please.
I'll try to update regularly, but to be honest, I'm not even sure of this. But I'll try my best.
