Neo Origin Part 3

The view in front. Don't look away from the road. Don't get distracted by the destruction around you. Don't smell the blood on the pavement. Don't think about the arms and legs sticking out of the rubble. Focus. I must focus on a single goal without unnecessary distractions.

It's too late for them. To save dad it's not too late.

I keep repeating that to myself like a mantra as I race through the destroyed Parisian streets at a speed that would put Lightning Bolt to shame. The magical increase was true. I've just crossed half of Paris running, dodging debris and jumping obstacles relentlessly, and I feel like I can keep going for hours. Another ability I noticed is my eyesight. Even running at high speed, I don't see my surroundings blurry. I can see every detail the moment my gaze lands.

Another reason not to take my eyes off the road. I didn't want to know that bones could break through skin like that.

A new explosion reverberates the pavement. I heard it close to me.

"So you're there" I growl clenching my teeth. Almost there. If I turn onto the next avenue, I'll have a straight path to the supervillain.

It hardly took me seconds to reach the avenue. Turning at this speed should be impossible but magic turned out to be useful. Without losing speed I tilt my torso to the right, nail my left foot and turn sharply to the opposite side. What seems to be impossible for magic is to stop at that speed.

I barely see red I try to stop unsuccessfully. My face hits first and whatever I hits falls, with me on top.

I must admit that crash hurt a bit.

Before I could get up, I was pushed to the side. That was rude.

I get up from the ground and look at it. It is a person. A person with a very "unusual" outfit and doubtful gender.

"You must be my partner"

I narrow my eyes. It's strange. I can't identify their voice as male or female "My kwami told me about a fellow" I say back.

They nod silently at my words.

I can't help but look at them from the bottom up and back again. My partner does not wear any shoes. A kind of red latex covers them completely from their feet to just below their knees. Then a black latex continues to the hip. The same goes for their arms. From the shoulders to the palms they are covered in red latex and the fingers in black latex. The torso is what stands out the most. Instead of a latex, it looks like quilted fabric with a diamond pattern. And if I trusted the feeling in my nose, that fabric is tougher than it looks. And, to finish, a red turtleneck and a mask with round red edges with black spots. Their body are covered in black and red spots depending on the location.

I've actually seen worse hero suits on TV but, ugh, spots.

"Spots had its moment decades ago. Stripes are the current trend." This is not the time to bring out my inner mother, but, ugh, spots.

They give me a hard look. "At least I..." They do the same as me. They look over my entire body critically. Nothing new to me. Being the daughter of the Queen of Fashion means having all eyes on me. Observing every detail. In how I am dressed, the jewelry I wore and what hairstyle I have today, every day of my life. Having my partner review how beautiful I am is nothing to write home about.

"Let's say it. Me what?"

They have the nerve to smile cheekily.

"I don't dress as a dominatrix in public"

What? "What?"

They drop their smile and tilt their head. Adding the pixie cut of theirs, gives them a boyish look.

"Did you see yourself in a mirror?" What a strange question. I shake my head. They raise their hand and point behind me "Go for yourself" Curiosity gets the better of me and I do as they say. I follow their finger and turn to look at what they're pointing at. A window of a clothing store covers my entire view. A showcase, which makes fun of the war zone that Paris became, being so clean. So clean I see my reflection.

"Kya!" I scream the most feminine and high-pitched scream of my life as I cover my body with my arms or rather, my feminine parts.

"Ouch! My ears." I see them covering their ears, but I don't care.

"What am I wearing?!"

I become very self-aware and feel my face burn.

"Stop screaming. It doesn't matter how much leather you're wearing. We must defeat the villain."

"Easy for you to say!" I was never so embarrassed in my life. When I transformed I jumped out the window as fast as possible and I was so focused on running that I never tried to see myself transformed. If I had, I would have put on an overcoat or even a blanket. I'm 14. Not even a pervert would wear this in broad daylight. Mortified, I take another look at the display case.

Leather, black leather, tight black leather covers from neck to toe leaving nothing to the imagination. That's not necessarily bad, but the difference with my partner is that I have accessories on my suit. Low-heeled knee-high boots and a belt looped from the sole to the knee on each boot. Each thigh also has a belt that serves to hold a kind of silver cylinder. As I turn my body in front of the window I realize that the belt around my waist is hanging behind. Following the cat theme that should be the tail. If I don't have enough belts, I have another one coiled up in each hand. It covers my wrist, back, palm and knuckles. I open and close my hand and move my wrists. I don't feel the resistance of the belt in my movements.

I am grateful that it is a leather choker instead of a belt that I have on my neck.

What impresses me the most is my face. A black mask completely covers the upper half of my face highlighting my unnatural feline green eyes. Protruding from my hair are two leather cat ears with jades on the inside. And my hair, my nice straightened hair disappeared. Now there are my natural waves and they reach my shoulder blades.

It is very obvious because they told me dominatrix.

"If you're done looking in the mirror, we must act now" They demand. The gravity of their voices snapped me out of my fashionable panic attack. I looked over my shoulder at them. "I was practicing while waiting for you to show up." They hold out their hand to me with a red disk on it. How did I miss that before? "My weapon is a yo-yo. It can stretch for miles and I control it mentally in some way even if the control is minimal. Its thread, from what I tested, is unbreakable." With a simple movement, the yo-yo rotates around their waist and is attached like a belt. The turn was so fast that I could barely see it with my new eyes and I had my gaze on it. "What's your weapon?"

I look at my body again and the only thing I can make out as a tool are the cylinders on my thighs. I grab one and inspect it. It's a metal cylinder with the same pawprint of the ring on it. I touch the pawprint and start screaming.

The cylinder suddenly extends and I am now 15 meters from the pavement. I squeeze hard with both hands to keep from falling.

"Quiet. You do the same thing you did recently and think about how much you want to shrink your staff. This is how my yo-yo works"

Having no other choice, I press down on the footprint as I think about the initial size of the staff. In less than 3 seconds I am on the ground with the staff in its original size.

"Well, you know... thanks for the advice." I avoid their gazes as I say it. This is shameful.

"You're welcome. It would be bad if you act like this just in the middle of the battle." That was rude "I barely had time to look at the villain but I couldn't find the akuma. I don't know where it cou-"

"Akuma?" Sounds familiar. Where did you hear that?

"Yes, the akuma. The source of his power. Didn't your kwami tell you?"

I shrug. "It barely explained itself in general and its super condensed version of what I have to do." I don't blame Adrien for distracting it. Plagg doesn't seem like a serious or professional person. Its attitude is very relaxed "It spent more time eating cheese than talking to me"

They nod in understanding "My kwami emphasized that I must defeat the akuma. It seems that my miraculous is the one to defeat them and you must help me" They leans almost 90 degrees towards me "I'll be in your care"

I stare at them. I don't know how to react to that. It seems like something important to them. The seconds pass and I prefer to break the silence.

"Equally. For you too" It's the only thing that came to mind. It seems that was the right thing to say since they stopped bowing.

"The akuma is inside an object. If I break the item, the villain will lose the power of it"

"Search for akuma, break item and save the day. Simple"

They Nod. Is it my imagination or do they like to nod instead of talk? They take down their yo-yo and launch it towards the roof of a building "Use your weapon to go up. We'll go for the roofs." They finish talking and shoot through the air.

Wow, it works like a hook gun. In a moment, they are already on the roof of the building looking at me.

I position one staff diagonally to the floor while leaving the other on my thigh. I flex my legs a little and press the pawprint.

The staff officially became my new transportation. When I realize I've already covered half the street and I'm about to reach the roof. I press the pawprint and the staff shrinks as I let the body follow the momentum. I land perfectly on the roof next to my partner.

"That was better than running" I can't help clarify. I just ran half the city.

"I can't deny that." They look around and I join them. The supervillain isn't tall enough to see it above buildings, but the destruction it wreaks is easy to spot. Right there, there's debris flying. Without saying a word to each other, we ran and jumped with our weapons across the rooftops of Paris.

It didn't take us long to get there. Now I can see the supervillain in greater detail since I'm not running for my life. It is a stone golem of 5 meters. Only that. Nothing that stands out or is a threat except its strength and size.

"Kim!" It just spoke or rather shouted "Now who's the coward!" It cries launching a car. I follow the car with my eyes and it lands near a person. A person in a red sweatshirt running down the street with clear signs of fatigue. Thanks to my feline eyes I can identify the boy from so far away. I know that boy.

This is Kim Lê Chiến, my classmate.

Why is a terrorist supervillain chasing a bonehead obsessed with challenges? Is what I asked myself as I plummeted with both crossed staffs before impacting them on the back of the golem's head. The impact was strong enough to bounce me 5 meters backwards and the golem landed face first on the ground. It didn't take long for my partner to land next to me.

"You should have told me what you were going to do." They look angry.

"I would have if I had had time for talks. Kim almost got crushed." I defend myself.

They stop looking at me to focus on the supervillain "A warning was- What is he doing?"

I turn to look.

A light comes out of the golem's body for a few seconds. When it stopped shining, it was already standing at his 7 meter height. 7 meters?

"Am I not the only one who thinks he grew up?"

"No, you're not the only one" Thanks for the confirmation "The blow made it grow. Don't attack unnecessarily. Run around him and let's find the akuma."

"Did you secretly train for years to fight supervillains? You know what to do"

"Not against supervillains, only humans but the basis is the same" Now I'm taking my concerns regarding my partner.

Without any warning, they run towards the golem. I follow closely.

"I'll swat them like flies!" It can talk but that's where its intelligence goes. Its movements are clumsy. With our increased agility it's easy to dodge it and watch every part of its body at once.

My new eyes are good. I won't get tired of repeating it and thanks to that I can say the following with certainty "Its body is completely made of rock. I don't see it carrying any object."

"Yes he does"

"I just told you no. Are you questioning my feline eyes?" An attack on my eyes is an attack on my person from now on.

"I don't question your good vision, but your short look" Ouch, I don't know what they meant but it sounded like an insult to me "His right hand was never opened. The akuma must be inside"

Now that they say it, they are right "And how are we going to make it open its hand? Its strength is superior to try to force it and we can't hit It" I ask while I keep running in circles dodging fists as big as me.

They didn't take long to reply "My special power. I'll need some time to activate it. Give me a minute, I'll be back… Can you do it?" I swear I was about to yell at them for abandoning me but they had the decency to ask.

I dodge another punch.

"Of course I can. It has a stone for a brain." A short jump, a quick slide, and a backflip. In 5 seconds I just dodged 3 hits while having a conversation. Being alone against it for a minute is no problem.

My partner runs across the street to hide behind a car.

"Stay still to crush you!" I dodged a blow that shook the floor but I have the balance of a cat. I barely notice the difference.

"As if saying that to a hero ever worked!" I slide between its legs, jump back to dodge a sweep, and land on its head. I remember this situation from animated cartoons. I should get off quickly but morbidity is stronger than logic. I wait for the right moment and jump before receiving the blow. Stonebrain just punched itself in its Stoneface. The supervillain falls on his back and I land on my feet.

As was obvious, it begins to grow.

Was necessary?

No.

It was fun?

A resounding yes. Affirmative! Utterly Affirmative! ...

…No, it's not the same.

In the midst of my musings, a dark shadow covers me. I look up and see it. I focused so much on my inner debate that I didn't realize that the golem was already standing there holding a car in its hand. Again? It hasn't understood that it's impossible to hit me like that. Sighing, I prepare to resume the game of cat and mouse.

"Kim, be crushed by Stoneheart!" It is not looking at me but something behind me. I turn around just as the car flies over me. With my eyes I didn't take a second to locate Kim. He is leaning against a car, in a serious state of fatigue and very sweaty. He must have been running for several minutes before he can no longer move and now he has a flying car about to crush him.

I hope this madness works.

I throw a staff while pressing the button/pawprint and think of a cooldown to extend.

Magically, it worked. The staff extended until it got stuck between two buildings with Kim under it. And just in time to stop the car from falling on top of him. Thanks magic. I can always tru-.

¡Pum!

My new unnatural feline green eyes betray me and fail for the first time that day.

I can only see images flashing by, then bricks to finish with gray pavement. My back is hit by debris but it barely hurts. They seem to me more like poorly performed strong massages. The searing pain that runs through my body and makes me want to kill myself to feel nothing, originates in my right arm. I can't help but scream.

I've screamed for many reasons today but this, this scream comes from the depths of my being. I scream as I am buried alive.

Pain.

Pain is all I feel and think. It made me lose the passage of time.

I scream until my throat is dry and I can't go on anymore. I try to bear the pain as best I can and think of something other than my right arm. I don't know how long I was buried but the floor continues to shake from its blows. The blows, yes. Hits are random against the floor. Kim doesn't have the strength to dodge the punches and I can't move. It means that my partner is fighting right now. I tried to shout to warn of my location, to get me out of here but I can't. I lost my voice and the dust doesn't help. I can only wait for my partner to finish off the akuma.

What a magical girl I turned out to be. Adrien would be disappointed.

¡Pum! ¡Pum! ¡Pum!

The tremors continue and do not seem to stop. Rather, they are louder. Closer and closer. Until I hear it in front of me. One of those blows pushed the rubble and I could see the light. I inhale the pure air of freedom and it is so refreshing. I couldn't enjoy it very much because the golem is preparing to crush me.

I try to get up quickly but supporting my weight on my right arm is a bad idea. I fall sideways with no chance to dodge it.

This is my end.

According to the movies, people before they die remember their whole lives flashing before their eyes.

I don't hear anything, I don't think anything and I don't remember anything.

I only see the gray and black of the approaching fist. And then the blue of the sky with a feeling of floating.

I quickly come to my senses when I discovered that I am indeed in the air. I turn my head to look around. The red hero is a few meters away pulling the cable of their yo-yo.

I was saved by my red and black companion who welcomes me with outstretched arms. The yo-yo unwinds from my waist automatically.

I'm still stunned by my near death. I can't do anything except look at them. I try to convey my gratitude with my eyes. Too bad they don't turn to look at me, but run down the street with me in their arms. They didn't run for long and now we find ourselves behind an overturned car with a red mannequin with black spots leaning against it.

I keep the mannequin company and sit next to it. I inhale and exhale as I was taught in my artistic gymnastics classes. Good breathing is the basis for moving nimbly, especially if you have superhuman agility. Out of the corner of my eye I see them watching through the car window.

A strange beeping pierces my ears.

"Listen carefully. I have about two minutes left to detransform. My special power is called Lucky Charm and I summoned that mannequin with it." They point to my seatmate "The summoned object should be the key to defeating the villain." They sit next to me. I'm sitting between two bodies covered in spots.

I strongly avoid not thinking about my current position and my arm. I don't know which one is worse.

"Kim, come out you coward!"

A car crashes into an appliance store near us.

"I was late in helping you because I thought of a plan to reach the akuma and you were hurt because of it." They bow their heads at me. "I promise I'll make up for my mistake later" Their voice shows sincerity and guilt.

It wasn't their fault. I got distracted. You had to save me. That's what I want to say but the words don't come out. I do not know how to do it. Accepting one's mistakes is not the Bourgeois way.

Right mom?

With nothing more to say, I wave my good hand, "I'll take a shopping tour any day." The blame game will get you nowhere. It is necessary to say a price and turn the page quickly. I learned it with Sabrina "What's the plan?"

"We must make him open his right hand. He uses his left hand for grappling attacks but what if there are two valuable targets he needs to grab?" Their gaze is still brimming with guilt. I don't need to be Max's nerd or Sabrina to know what they mean.

"I must be the bait with my seatmate" I put my hand on the mannequin when I noticed that they did not get the message.

"Yes, sorry again"

I stand up with some difficulty "Stop staring at the ground lamenting. You'll pay me with the shopping tour" Standing I can look over the top of the car at the supervillain. It is about 30 or 40 meters from us and it is getting closer.

"For the plan to work, we need to make it difficult for him to see. He must mistake the mannequin for me"

I hear my partner's concern, that beep again and the golem's heavy footsteps. I smile at all that "Don't worry, I saw a lot of Paris movies" My sight goes to the manhole cover and as it steps on it.

Time for my special power.

"Cataclysm!"

I scream, and instantly I feel a tingling in my left hand. I look quickly and see black smoke enveloping my hand.

I don't give it much importance and jump with my hand outstretched. My right arm sways in the wind.

The golem prepares to hit me. It thinks I want a fist bump. It is very wrong. My target was never you. I twist my body to dive under its fist and land in front of it. My hand makes contact with the pavement and the destruction begins.

As a Parisian and movie lover from my hometown, I have the knowledge of steam pipes running through every sewer. Adding the fall of an object that weighs tons and measures almost 10 meters, those pipes will not withstand the impact and will break.

A blast of hot air covers me completely.

It's hot but it doesn't hurt. The only real drawback is my blurred vision.

Just what i was looking for.

The golem's silhouette rises slowly from the sewage where it fell.

Come to think of it, I never told them my pla- Oh, nothing. A humanoid figure is flying.

I jump behind the figure.

"I'm going to sharpen my claws on your ugly face!"

The scream served its purpose. It didn't let us out of its sight and caught us both in midair. One with each hand.

"Now!"

A third figure falls like an eagle in the steam.

I wince when I hear the crash of the water. So gro- Ouch, ouch, ouch. The grip brings the pain back to my broken arm. It squeezes even more and I feel my other arm about to break. Hurry up, will you? I'm sure I'll be crushed to death in seconds.

My partner was faster.

The figure of the golem glowed purple and disappeared the next second. Gravity claims me and I fall on the edge of the rotten water. I was narrowly saved in more ways than one.

I reach out and grab the figure in front of me. I don't want my seatmate going into the rotten water.

"Cof, cof" The mannequin spoke, or rather coughed and is moving. What I grab is not my seatmate. "Cof, cof" he chokes with so much steam and I'm having a hard time breathing.

I jump high up away from the steam. I land on the street and I see him well. He is my seatmate. Not the mannequin but the one in my classroom. Big Ivan.

I squint as I look at steam, Ivan and vice versa.

Why was he close to the hole to fall into it?

A tiny light is seen through the steam for an instant. This time it is red.

Curiosity about the light and concern for my partner who hasn't come out yet overcame my interest in Iván. I put him down and jump into the steam. Obviously I avoid falling into the water. The steam continues to block my eyesight and nose but not my ears.

"Cof, cof"

Another person is suffocating. From the sound, he is close.

I run towards the sound. Within seconds I leave the steam behind.

"Cof cof"

It's on the next lap.

Without losing speed I tilt my torso to the right, nail my left foot and turn sharply to the opposite side.

I barely see white I try to stop but the pain in my body does not allow me to make sudden movements. My face hits first and whatever I hits falls, with me on top.

I barely felt the impact.

Before I could get up, I was pushed to the side. That was rude.

I get up from the ground and look at it. It is a person. A person with a familiar uniform and female gender.

I recognize her. I saw her this morning. She is the new student.

"Anime girl?"

I did not expect to have the chapter so quickly. Hope you like. Reviews help me improve.

Unfortunately I will have to leave the story on hiatus for two months. I'll go on vacations. I will not abandon the story. When I get back, I'll start writing the next part of Neo Genesis Miraculous.

The Evo King: Thank you for your review. It helps the writer a lot that his story is appreciated. The ChloexAdrien did not affirm or deny anything. Missing to goal romance. Chloe is not good, she is still Chloe. She just has no need to yell at those close to her. That's how I imagined it for the fanfic.
