"They good?" Daniel asked, looking up from his book as Daisy disconnected.

"They're good," she nodded, looking solemn.

"You good?" he asked.

Daisy didn't answer, just smiled softly at him.

Before Daniel could enquire further, Kora called them to the front of the ship.

As the trio stared out the window at the great expanse in front of them, Daisy stepped closer to Daniel. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her against his side.

"You good?" he murmured again.

Daisy just sighed, turning her head slightly so her face was pressed into his neck. She heard Daniel mutter something to Kora and then he was leading her back to their bunk.

"Talk to me Dais," he said once they were inside, and the door closed behind him.

Daisy closed her eyes, trying to ward off the onslaught of emotions she felt. A tear made it's face down her face.

"Daisy," Daniel held her face gently, wiping the tear away and leaned his head against hers.

"I miss them," Daisy finally whispered.

"I know," he murmured, "But we'll be back on Earth soon and then we can see them. Actually see them."

"I know," Daisy replied, "I just…"
"I know," Daniel repeated.

Their heads were still pressed together, but he looked down at where Daisy's hands rested on the barely visible bump of her midsection. Daniel rested one of his hands over hers, the other still cradling her face.

"I want them to be part of this," Daisy said.

"They will be-"

"They don't even know!" Daisy exclaimed, her face crumpling a moment later. "Only Jemma. I wanted to tell them in person… I want me parents to see this…"

"They will," Daniel assured her, "They will know, and they will be so excited. The whole team will, but Coulson and May especially! They're going to be grandparents again! And Alya's going to have a cousin to play with. And you know Uncle Mack is going to be so excited for this little one."

Daisy smiled, laughing through her tears.

"We'll be home soon and we'll go see your parents right away and tell them, okay?" Daniel said softly.

"Okay," Daisy murmured, "Sorry I freaked out."

"Don't be," Daniel smiled, "You're growing a person, Dais, you freak out whenever you want."

Daisy laughed again, wrapping her arms around Daniel, and burrowing herself against him. She laid her head on his chest, listening to his heart beating and feeling the vibrations from the little life growing inside. When and how had she got so lucky?
