POKEMON...GONE.
"January 2nd-2000." Said a male voice. "Throughout all of history, man has established an almost perfect record of ignoring the inevitable. Man recognizes the fact that the sun will rise the next day. Not because it chooses to, but because it always has in the past. When the people of Shamouti Island documented a prophecy about the end of the world back in ancient times, the prophecy was ignored by all mankind...except for them. Thus, man was caught off guard when the prophecy came to fruition in 1998. If it were not for the courageousness of the chosen one, the world would've been destroyed. And ever since then, the planet has experienced several apocalyptic events in different regions. All of which were stopped by the chosen one and his friends. It seemed that only after the events of '98 happened that humanity recognized that the apocalypse is no fantasy. Another prophecy speaks plainly of an event that will some day take place. But again, this prophecy has been forgotten by the world. This event has not yet happened. At least not at the time that this tape was recorded. But as sure as the sun rises in the east...it will come to pass."
(1)-FLIGHT.
February 15th, (2002)
On board an airplane that was flying high in the bright blue sky, 15-year old Ash Ketchum sat in the right seat on the right side of the aisle, with Pikachu sitting in his lap as the boy held it in his arms while they both were looking out the window next to them at the beautiful blue sky. The left seat next to them was empty.
Ash wore a red short sleeve un-buttoned shirt with a white collar and a white pokeball design on the left sleeve, a white undershirt, blue pants, white sneakers and a white wristband on his left wrist with a black stripe. Unlike on all of his other journeys, he wasn't wearing a hat on this one. Normally, he would, but he was 15 and made up in his mind that he was too old for hats now. Also, he wanted to do something different for this new journey, so he decided to go hatless. To be honest, it looked quite good on him not wearing a hat. He should've gone hatless when he turned 13.
"The Hisui region." Ash said with his little boy voice. "I can't wait to see what it's like. What kind of towns and cities it has, what kind of food the people serve, what kind of Pokemon they have. Man, oh, man, i tell ya...the possibilities are endless." The reason Ash and Pikachu were on this plane was because they were on their way to the Hisui region to start another journey.
"Pikachu." Pikachu said, agreeing.
"Can't wait either, huh, buddy?" Ash said, looking down at Pikachu.
"Pika." Pikachu said, looking up at Ash.
"Yeah, me either. I know the feelin'." Ash said.
"Troy to Ash. Troy to Ash. Come in, Ash." Came the little boy voice of Troy, Ash's 10-year old cousin..
Ash reached inside his right pants pocket, got out his walkie-talkie and put it to his mouth. "Ash to Troy. Pikachu and i are on the plane and on our way to the Hisui region as we speak."
"Awesome. Let us know when you get there and what it's like." Troy said.
"Yeah, we're dying to know." Added the voice of Trey, Ash's 11-year old cousin, Troy's older brother.
"Will do." Ash said.
"Bring me back a t-shirt." Trey said.
"You got it. Over and out." Ash said before turning off his walkie-talkie and placing it back in his right pants pocket. "Those two cousins of mind, i tell ya."
"Attention, all passengers. Attention." Came the male voice of the pilot on the intercom. "This is your captain speaking. We are now leaving the borders of Kanto and are flying over the ocean. We will be arriving in the Hisui region within eight hours, so if any of you are tired and feel like you wanna rest, feel free to catch some Zs to pass the time. I'll check back with you later. Captain out."
With that being said, the lights in the room went dim and passengers closed the shade-sheaths over their windows, followed by them and their small Pokemon in their laps and arms going to sleep.
Ash and Pikachu took notice of this.
"We might as well get some rest too, huh?" Ash said, looking down at Pikachu.
"Pika." Pikachu said, looking up at Ash.
"I guess you're right. Night, buddy." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said.
Ash pulled down the shade-sheath over his window and he and Pikachu closed their eyes...and went right to sleep.
Meanwhile, sitting in the back of the aisle on the left side were Team Rocket's Jesse, James and Meowth, disguised as a wife, a husband and a little boy, with Meowth sitting in James' lap. They had followed Ash and Pikachu from home to the airport and were on their way to the Hisui region as well.
"Perfect timing." James said.
"Yeah, couldn't-a happened at a betta time." Meowth said. "Now let's get to grabbin' that Pikachu."
"Hey, you two, don't forget why we're really on this plane. We're on it because the boss has assigned us to a mission in Hisui region, not to make another attempt to grab the twerp's Pikachu. Now's not the time to slack off and go chasing after our own agendas like we have done so many times in the past." Jesse reminded. "Now, if you'll excuse me...i need my beauty rest." She said before closing her eyes and going to sleep.
"Typical." James said.
"Yeah. Women." Meowth said, agreeing with James.
James yawned. "I might as well get some rest too. It's gonna be a looooong flight." He said before closing his eyes and going to sleep.
"These are my partners." Meowth said, referring to Jesse and James before he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
Little did Ash, Jesse, James and Meowth know that they were sleeping through the last normal hour of their lives and that the next time they woke up, they would be in a nightmare.
