The cousins plus Mariano walked through the woods. "You know what would have been smart?" Mirabel asked. " grabbing tío Bruno's vision. Then maybe we'd have a place to start looking instead of walking in circles."
"You don't wanna see the vision," Antonio responded.
"Have you seen the vision?" Mariano asked.
"Why would he let you see the vision while hiding it from everyone else?" Luisa asked.
"He doesn't know that I saw the vision," Antonio confessed. "I snuck into his room. I don't wanna say what I saw."
"Toñito," Mirabel said.
"I saw Dolores in the vision," Antonio said. "I saw Dolores and someone I didn't recognize. The person behind her looked dead or badly injured. Dolores had blood on her hands. I-I think Doli did something really bad."
"No," Mariano said. "She would never kill someone. Unless..."
"Unless what?" Mirabel snapped.
"Unless they were gonna kill someone she loves," he said.
"Esto sigue empeorando y empeorando," Mirabel groaned.
"That's just one interpretation," Luisa argued.
"What else could it mean, Luisa?" Mirabel snapped. "That she found a corpse and just put her hands all over it? Toñito, did you see Camilo or Isabela in the vision?"
"Nope," Antonio sighed.
"Let's keep going," Luisa sighed. "We can dissect this vision later. If we don't, it'll be more than just one person who's dead. We can't waste daylight. It's been at least eight hours since we left. We need to make as much progress as we can before the sun goes down."
They started making their way down the path again. It can't be that, can it? Mirabel thought.
"I'm gonna kill him," Dolores promised. "I'm gonna fucking do it."
"What did he do to you?" Valeria asked.
"I'd rather not talk about it," Dolores said. "You know, what hasn't he done? He kidnapped me, my brother, and my cousin. He separated my brother from us. Then he got my cousin killed. He's done unspeakable things thing. Then he locked me in there for an entire night."
"Don't talk unless you're ready," Valeria whispered.
"I'm gonna get us out of this," Dolores swore. "Lo Juro."
The door swung open. Camilo was shoved inside of the room. "Milo," Dolores screamed. She rolled him onto his back. His face was even worse. He had more cuts on his body, and his leg was bent unnaturally. "Please, help him!"
"I have no reason to help him," the man explained. "He's worth nothing to me now. Si muere, entonces muere. Un dolor en mi trasero menos para preocuparme por vender."
Dolores's hands were now covered in Camilo's blood. "Is this-" Valeria started.
"This is my brother," Dolores confirmed. He didn't have much longer. If they were home, this could be easily fixed. She turned around, thinking of a way to fix this. "Please help him. If you do, I will not struggle."
Esto sigue empeorando y empeorando; This keeps getting worse and worse
Lo juro; I swear
Si muere, entonces muere. Un dolor en mi trasero menos para preocuparme por vender; If he dies, then he dies. One less pain in my butt to worry about selling.
