(2)-THE MISSING POKEMON.

One Hour Later...

Ash awoke from his sleep. "Are we there yet?" He said before pushing up the shade-sheath to his window and looking out and seeing that the plane he was on was still high up in the sky. "Nope, not yet." He stated. "I guess falling asleep didn't make the time go by fast, huh, Pikachu?" He said as he looked down at his empty lap as he said 'Pikachu'. "Pikachu?" He repeated. "Pikachu?" He called as he looked around the dark room for the electric rodent, only to find that it was nowhere to be seen. "Pikachu?" He called, but got no reply. "Aw, man, where'd you run off to?" He asked. Where was Pikachu? Last he checked, Pikachu was resting in his lap when they both went to sleep. Now he awake and the little electric rat was nowhere in sight.

"Sherry? Where are you?" Came a female elderly voice.

"Huh?" Ash asked as he looked across the aisle to see an elderly woman sitting on the other side in the left seat, with the right seat beside her empty. "Ma'am..." He began, getting the old lady's attention. "Is everything okay?"

"It's my Marill, Sherry. She's disappeared." The old woman answered.

"So has my Pikachu." Ash answered. "But you know what, i'll bet your Marill just wandered off while you were asleep." He said. And that very much could've been the case with this old lady's Marill, but what about Pikachu? It wouldn't just take off on it's own without notifying Ash. He and Pikachu were very close-knit friends and neither of them ever went off without saying a word. They always stuck by each other, no matter what.

"Would you mind alerting the pilot for me, please?" The old woman asked.

"Yeah, sure, no problem." Ash answered before getting up from his seat and stepping onto the aisle.

"Thank you." The old woman said.

"No problem. I'll be right back." Ash said before walking down the aisle in search of the old ladies Marill and his Pikachu.

Most of the passengers were still in their seats asleep...but as Ash walked down the aisle, he saw that several others were awake and standing in the aisle. The 15-year old walked up to a woman, who's back was turned. "Excuse me." He said, making the woman turn to face him. "I'm looking for some lost Pokemon."

"Who isn't?!" The woman yelled.

Ash pushed his way past the passengers standing in the aisle and when he reached the closed curtain entrance and opened it, a female flight attendant stood on the other side of the other dim-lit passenger-room.

"Sir, i'm gonna need you to return to your seat and fasten your belt." Said the female flight attendant.

"But i'm looking for-"

"Everybody is looking for their Pokemon." The female flight attendant said, cutting Ash off. "We hope to have some information for you in a few minutes, now please."

"Oh. Well...alright." Ash said before turning around and heading back down the aisle. As he made his way past the passengers standing in the aisle, the purple cabin-lights came on, awaking all of the other passengers that had been asleep, including Jesse, James and Meowth. The cabin-lights also revealed that all the Pokemon that once sat in their owners' laps were now gone, making Ash stop in his tracks in shock.

"Hm? What's going on?" James asked.

"Are we there yet?" Jesse asked.

"I don't think so." Meowth said.

"Help! Help! My Bulbasaur's gone!" A 10-year old boy shouted, standing up from his seat.

"Help, my Charmander's gone!" A teenage-girl cried, standing up from her seat.

"I can't find my Squirtle!" A man yelled, standing up from his seat.

"I'm missing my Caterpie!" A young woman screamed, standing up from her seat.

"My Rattata is missing!" A middle-aged woman shrieked, standing up from her seat.

"Where is my Nidoran?!" An old man called out, standing up from his seat.

All of the other passengers soon stood up and started calling for their missing Pokemon, making Ash shutter. For it seemed that every person in the room had Pokemon that were missing. This felt like a dream. But somehow he knew this was no dream. And he felt the same terror he felt during his apocalyptic ordeals throughout his journey as a Pokemon trainer. Sure, maybe it was PTSD, but somehow he knew that just wasn't the case. What was he going to tell the sweet old lady? It was clear to him that her Marill and his Pikachu weren't the only Pokemon missing, as all of the other passengers in the room had clearly lost their's as well. As he hurried back to his seat, his mind searched for any theory that would make sense in a situation like this. Had someone invented some kind of technology that could make Pokemon disappear without a trace? If so, was that someone on the plane? Would they make demands? Would another wave of disappearances be next? Would people disappear next time around? Would he be a victim? Where would he find himself.

Fear seemed to fill the room as Ash made his way past the last few passengers in the aisle and over to the old woman. "Apparently many Pokemon are missing."

"Oh, my." The old woman said, putting her right hand to her mouth. She looked as puzzled and fearful as everyone else in the room felt.

Ash then went back over to his seat and sat down, followed by buckling his seat-belt.

"Attention all passengers. Attention." Came the voice of the male pilot on the intercom. "Please remain in your assigned seats. I'm gonna ask the flight attendants to check the whole plane and make sure everybody is here and accounted for. And then i'll ask them to pass out cards pens and if anyone of you are missing your Pokemon, i would like for you to fill out the card in their name and what type they are. I'm sure you all realize that we have a...a very troubling situation. The cards will give us an account of how many Pokemon are missing and i'll have something to give authorities. My co-pilot will now make a count of missing Pokemon. I'll try to contact the Pallet Town Airport and let the staff there know what's going on. I must tell you, however, that our location makes it extremely difficult to communicate with the ground without long delays. Even in the age of satellites, we're in a pretty remote area. As soon as i know anything, i'll convey it to you and in the meantime i appreciate your cooperation and calmness."

All of the passengers standing on the aisle returned to their seats.

Jesse, James and Meowth, meanwhile, were just as confused as the rest of the passengers, but not frightened. At least not yet.

"Missing Pokemon?" James asked.

"On board an airplane?" Jesse asked.

"What is goin' on here? Pokemon don't just disappear on a plane that's hundreds of feet in the air." Meowth said. How did this happen? How could this happen? Was it possible that someone has invented some kind of weapon that made Pokemon disappear without a trace? Was this someone on the plane right now? Would their be another disappearing Pokemon trick? Would he be one of them? If so...where would he end up?

Jesse reached into her right pants pocket for her pokeballs, but- "Oh, no!"

"What's wrong?" James asked.

Jesse removed her hand from her right pants pocket. "My pokeballs, they're...they're gone."

"You're kidding." James said.

"I wish i was." Jesse said.

"Well, i still have my pokeballs." James said as he reached inside his right pants pocket for his pokeballs. But he couldn't feel them anywhere. He removed his hand from his pocket. "That's weird. Mine are gone too."

"Are you serious?" Jesse asked.

"I wouldn't joke about something like this." James said.

"I guess it's safe to say that you're Pokemon are among those that disappeared on this plane." Meowth said.

"Yeah, but...how? Why? What can we do to get them back?" Jesse asked, clearly now worried.

"I suppose we'll just have to fill out our Pokemons' names on these cards the flight attendants gave us. That's really all we can do at the moment, i'm afraid." James said.

"Ugh! Fine." Jesse said before she and James filled out the names of their Pokemon on the cards with the pens.

The male co-pilot entered into the purple-lit room and walked down the aisle, looking at the passengers, who were all clearly fearful and confused. Clearly he was crying to find out which ones had lost their Pokemon. But it was plane as day that all of them had. He walked past Ash and up to the closed curtain entrance where he opened the curtains and entered inside the other purple-lit passenger-room.

The flight attendants, male and female, entered inside the room with cards and pens and began handing them out to passengers as they walked down the aisle. One of the female flight attendants handed Ash a card and pen, then moved on to the remaining passengers in the room. One of the other female flight attendants handed Jesse and James each a card and pen and then went inside the other purple-lit room to hand out cards and pens to it's passengers.

Ash used the pen to fill out Pikachu's name on the card.

Once the flight attendants had finished handing out cards and pens to the passengers in the room, they exited it and entered into the next one.

The co-pilot soon ran back past Ash, heading down the aisle, and exited the room through the open curtain entrance.

Ash knew that the co-pilot was heading back for the cock-pit to rejoin the main pilot and decided to follow him. He didn't know how, but he knew there was more to this Pokemon disappearance scenario then what the pilot knew. And he was going to find out what. The 15-year old un-buckled his seat-belt, got up from his seat, placed the card and pen in it, and then ran off down the aisle after the co-pilot, entering room after room and running down aisle after aisle. He soon stopped at an open curtain entrance when he saw the co-pilot stop at the cock-pit door, reach inside his right pants pocket, get his key out, and use it to unlock the door. He placed the key back inside his right pants pocket, opened the cock-pit door, and entered inside and closed the door afterwards. Ash rushed into the small room and ran up to the cock-pit door and placed his right ear up against it to listen in on anything that would be said on the other side by the pilot and co-pilot.
