(4)-A WAKING NIGHTMARE.
Ash stood shocked, stunned and wide-eyed as he took his right ear off the cock-pit door, with his heart racing and his stomach dropping like an elevator. There were no words to describe how he was now feeling after hearing what he had just heard. The Pokemon disappearances wasn't just an event that occurred on this plane. It had happened all over the Kanto region at every airport and on board every plane from the region.
Just then, Ash felt the plane turn around, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls..." The pilot began on the intercom. "We are not gonna be able to land in the Hisui region. We're heading back to Pallet Town. We're only seven hours away from our original destination, so we will not have a fuel problem. I hope this puts your minds some-what at ease. I will let you know when we're close enough to begin using your poke-gears. Until i do, you will do yourselves a favor by not trying."
Ash was surprised when he heard applause from the passengers. Shocked and terrified as everyone was, all of them were from Kanto and wanted to return to their home region to sort this thing out. And he was one of them. He wanted to get back home so he could see his Mom, aunt Hilary, his two cousins and Professor Oak.
Not sure what to think next, Ash, now in a zombified daze, turned around and headed out of the room to the cock-pit, entering back into the purple-lit passenger-room. As he made his way down the aisle to head back for them room where he was seated, the 15-year old's vision started to go blurry and his legs began to feel weak like jelly. Before he knew it...the teenage-boy's legs gave out...he fell to the floor...and his vision went dark.
...
One Hour Later...
Ash awoke and found himself sitting back in his seat. "(Sighs) It was just a dream." He said, assuring himself that what had happened with all of the Pokemon disappearances hadn't actually occurred, but rather was a bad dream, thank goodness. "Wait. How did i get back here?" He asked himself. Last he checked, he had collapsed and blacked out on the floor. How could he have managed to get back here to his seat. "One of the passengers in the room he passed out in must've gone to get help and brought a flight attendant back to the scene and that flight attendant must've brought me back here." He was quickly brought out of his calm mood when he noticed that Pikachu wasn't sitting in his lap. "Pikachu?" He called. But there was no response. "Pikachu? Pikachu?" He called once again as he looked around for the electric rodent, only to find that he was nowhere to be seen. "Pikachu? Where are-" He stopped when realization hit him. "Oh, no. Oh, no. No!"
"Attention all passengers. Attention." The pilot began over the intercom. "I wanna thank you again for your cooperation today. We are now back in Kanto and are arriving at the Pallet Town Airport. Please remain in your seat until we land. A gateway will be attached to the plane's entrance. Thank you."
"No! No! This-this-this can't be happening!" Ash said. So it wasn't a bad dream. The Pokemon disappearances had actually happened.
On the left side of the aisle, the old woman rocked and whimpered, with her face buried in her hands. All around Ash, people cried...and talked. Flight attendants offered snacks and drinks to the passengers, but none of them accepted.
Ash knew that everyone on this plane was going to go home and cry today over the loss of their Pokemon, himself included. But right now they just had to hang in there and focus on getting back to Pallet Town and off this plane. They could at least feel good about that. Wanting to take a look at his home community, Ash looked out his window to see Pallet Town. A decision he soon regretted. Cutting through the clouds, the plane allowed him a view of his home town. Black smoke...fire...vehicles off the road and smashed into each other and guardrails. Planes, private jets and helicopters in pieces on the ground, as well as some having crashed into buildings. Emergency vehicles' lights flashing and picking their way around the debris. As the airport came into view, it was clear that no one was going anywhere soon. There were planes as far as the eye could see. Some parked on runways and some crashed and burning on the ground. What was going on? What had caused all of this destruction? What had happened to Pallet Town while he was away?
Jesse, James and Meowth were also looking out their window at the chaotic community, with their shade-sheath pushed up and with Jesse standing up from her seat.
"What are we, at war?!" Jesse shrieked.
"Riots?!" James yelled.
"Angry mobs?!" Meowth panicked.
"What?!" Jesse, James and Meowth shouted.
The three Rocket grunts shouting made all of the other passengers push up their shade-sheaths and look out their windows at the devastating, chaotic community of Pallet Town.
Ash, meanwhile, continued to stare out his window at the chaotic town. In all his years of encountering apocalyptic situations on his journeys, he had never seen anything as devastating as what he was seeing now. What could've caused something like this? He had no clue. But he would worry about that later. Ash then began plotting how he would beat this new chaotic system. He had to get out of this scary environment. The problem was...his goal was to get to a now worse one:
Pallet Town.
