A/N: Thanks for all the great comments! I had the time of my life at theatre camp today. I can't wait to go back tomorrow.
When Dolores's eyes flickered open, she recognized the room as hers. Her room was back at the Encanto. She was home. She let out a sigh of relief before realizing a cold metal presence on her left wrist. She was confused. Why am I handcuffed?
The door opened. Mariano entered the room, a grim look on her face. "Oh mi Vida," Mariano said. "I thought I lost you. How are you feeling? I can sneak you an arepa from Julieta's new batch."
Why would he have to sneak one? Dolores thought. Mariano pulled out a vision. It was of Dolores standing over the hole she almost buried Camilo and Isabela in. "Please tell me it's not true," Mariano cried. "Please tell me you didn't do this."
Dolores looked at her boyfriend with confusion. "Please tell me you didn't," Mariano said. Tears were streaming down his face. "Tell me you didn't kill Isabela and didn't hurt Camilo."
So that's what the handcuff is for. Dolores tried to speak up to defend herself. However, words failed to come out of her mouth. Maybe she did do this. She didn't pull the trigger or break Camilo's leg, but they were there because of her. They were kidnapped, trying to save her. Camilo got separated, trying to save her. She tried to get words to come out of her mouth, but nothing came out.
"Oh, mi amor," Mariano said. He hid his face in his hands. "Esto no se ve been."
"It's been two days," Abuela declared. The older family members sat in the dining room. "The people in town are starting to get antsy. They want justice. We would have had more time if someone didn't go and run their mouth."
"I'm sorry," Bruno declared. "I'm not good in high-pressure situations."
"Show them the third vision," Agustin said.
"I did," Abuela said. "They don't think that it's enough. The other two visions were too damming to them."
Mariano entered the dining room. "She is awake," he announced. "However, she didn't say a word. The most I got out of her was a confused look."
"That's just great," Abuela said sarcastically. "There are only two people who can prove Dolores's innocence. One of them is still passed out, and the other one won't say a word. The townpeople is prepared to storm this house."
"What would they do if they found her?" Pepa asked.
"We haven't had a trial in the Encanto yet," Abuela said. "However, back in my old village, murderers were hanged. I assume that's how people would want it done now."
A loud whip of thunder was heard throughout the Encanto.
Oh mi Vida; oh my life
Mi amor; my love
Esto no se ve bien; This doesn't look good.
