Hey! Welcome to my first story. This is kinda gonna be a Phantom of The Opera fanfiction? Idk. What you need to know for this prologue: it's 2010, Heather and her husband Gustav have a 5 year old daughter, Christine. She is very interested in singing, and catches the eye of a certain someone "wink wink", but a horrible disaster occurs before anything can happen. Just stick with it.

Another thing: This prologue is boring, trust me, but there's some key information in this chapter.

Note: I do not own The Phantom of The Opera, all credits to the original owners.

Also, this is gonna make little sense. Please enjoy.

May 18th, 2010.

? POV

"And… we're here!" I announced it to my family.

My daughter hopped out of the car immediately. I smiled. She was so adorable.

"Antoinette said to meet her at the front gate. I wonder if she showed up on time." my husband questioned.

Antoinette is the wife of my husband's best friend. We both have a daughter around the same age, and we all grew up together.

We live in a fairly small town. So everyone here knows each other. All of the teachers of my daughter's were people I knew in middle and high school.

"Daddy, mommy! C'mon!" my daughter grabbed my arm.

"Alright, Christine. We're coming." I told her.

We all walked to the front of the school, and immediately saw the sign for the school musical, The Phantom Of The Opera. Actually, that's how me and my husband met. I was the understudy for Christine Daae, and my husband was The Phantom. The girl who played Christine, Mary, got sick and had to leave school. So, I became the main Christine.

Me and Gustav, my husband, started dating and then we had a kid. Of course we had to name her Christine.

We then see Antoinette, my husband's friend, and Meg (their daughter).

"Ah, so you finally decide to show up!" Max, my husband's friend says.

"Yes, we did. We actually thought you weren't gonna show up." Gustav smirks.

"C'mon let's go in." I say.

Christine and Meg immediately greet each other, and start walking together.

"Alright, we got our seating arrangements. Christine, Meg, you'll be with me." I say, "And the rest of you will be in the row behind us."

"Alright. Sounds good." Gustav says.

We all walked in, thinking this would be the best day ever.

?

After years of torment from the director, finally I got the lead role.

I put on my mask and gloves, finally I am the phantom.

"5 minutes 'till you come on Erik. Noah, do you know your lines?" the stagehand asked our Raoul.

"Yes ma'am," he said.

"Alright, good luck out there Erik." she said to me.

I smile at her politely, and she leaves.

One problem: I hate the girl who plays Christine.

Her voice is terrible, and she is rather vain if you would say. She also never takes herself seriously. I want an actual Christine who will do well. Hopefully, someday I will get my wish, but for now, I will have to remain with Ashley.

I look at myself with the mask on. I look so different. I look like me.

Well, that is it. Time to put myself out there.

I heard Raoul and Christine doing Little Lotte. It's time. I thought to myself.

Christine POV

He's there,

The Phantom of The Opera…

The girl playing Christine sang her high notes, but I wasn't paying attention.

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be Christine. I love her, and well, I love the musical. My mom, when she heard that, was excited to teach me to sing, so she did.

But I was still too young to do anything. I'd have to wait a few more years.

About 2 hours later, the show ended. I went up to my mom, Heather.

"Mommy, can we meet the actors?"

She thought about it for a moment. "You know what? Sure."

I cheered. "I'll go with you too." my dad said.

"Well, we have to get home. Meg has ballet practice tomorrow. See you later." Meg's dad said.

I hugged all of them, and we went off to the backdoor of the high school.

The ballerinas first came out, and they all said hello to me, and they told my mom I was adorable.

Next, Carlotta, Meg, Madame Giry, Piangi, and the Managers came out.

They all signed my playbill, and my mom's.

Finally, Raoul, the phantom, and Christine came out.

"You were amazing!" I said to Christine happily.

"Awww, thank you! You're so adorable! What's your name?" she asked me.

"Christine." I said.

"Wow, what a coincidence." she laughed.

"I wanna be you when I grow up." I told her.

"You wanna play Christine Daae?" She asked me.

"Yeah!" I told her.

"I've been giving her vocal lessons." my mom told her.

"That's amazing! I bet one day you'll be able to play her. May I hear?" she asked.

I was a little nervous, but excited. "Go on, honey." my mom told me.

I breathed, and began to sing.

Think of me,

Think of me fondly when we've said goodbye

Remember me, every so often

Promise me you'll try

On that day,

That not so distant day,

When you were far away and free.

If you ever find a moment, spare a thought for me.

Erik POV

I hate stage-doors. I hate interacting with people. Especially little kids. All of them are brats.

I then saw Ashley, our Christine, talk with a little brunette girl. I sighed. Another one-

Think of me,

Think of me fondly when we've said goodbye

Remember me, every so often

Promise me you'll try

My mouth almost dropped. She was far better than Ashley And at what age- 5? And she looked like Christine.

Could she be the one I was searching for? A little brat?

On that day,

That not so distant day,

When you were far away and free.

If you ever find a moment, spare a thought for me.

She was certainly amazing. I had to approach her.

"That was rather pleasant. Where did you learn to sing?" I asked her.

The little girl blushed. "My mommy taught me."

I saw a woman behind her, presumably her mom, with brunette hair and blue eyes. "She had been wanting to be Christine ever since she was 5." the mother said.

"Well, I think she could definitely be Christine." I said to her.

"What do you say?" the mom said to her.

"Thank you." the little girl said.

I smiled a tiny bit.

Ashley then said, "Do you want a backstage tour?"

Christine smiled and nodded.

Christine POV

"This is my dressing room, and these are my dresses." she said to me.

I recognized them all. The wedding dress, the wishing dress, and the main music of the night dress.

"Wow, this is amazing."

"Well, we better get home." my dad said.

"Do we have to?" I ask my dad.

"Yes, we do. It's been a big day. Thank you so much for this." my mother said to the girl playing Christine.

"No problem! It's a pleasure." she said to me.

The phantom also shook my hand, and my mothers hand.

He went out to his dressing room, which was farther back.

Suddenly, without warning, a fire alarm went off.

"THIS IS NOT A DRILL. GET OUT OF THE BUILDING." the voice on the loudspeaker said.

My mother grabbed my arm, and we all ran to the back of the theater, where the door was.

We all ran on stage, and we saw it.

The whole theater was burning down. And props from above were dropping.

Suddenly, I slipped out of my mother's hand, and I tripped.

My mom was just about to help me up, when something landed on her. A piece of wood.

She choked, and a bit of blood came out. I screamed, and a tear came out of my eye.

"He-" she choked out, but couldn't finish.

"Mommy!" I screamed.

My father grabbed my arm and ran towards the front entrance.

The girl who plays Christine was with us, and we were running to the front door.

We then heard a scream coming from the stage.

"Rebbeca!" the girl who played Christine cried.

"Go take my daughter to safety. I'll find that girl, and see if I can save my wife." my father said, trying not to cry.

"I love you sweetheart." my father said to me, and he kissed my forehead.

He then ran to the stage, where a prop on fire had landed on a girl's foot.

I was coughing really hard. I had asthma, so this was fairly bad for me.

Before I knew it, I fell down, and blacked out.

The next day, I woke up at the hospital.

Meg's parents, Meg, and the girl who played Christine were beside me.

"Thank goodness you're okay!" Meg said, hugging me.

"Meg! Be careful with her." Meg's mom said.

"It's okay. I feel-" I coughed.

"It's best to let her rest." the doctor said.

"Again, Ashley, we can't thank you enough." Max said to the girl who played Christine.

"It's alright." she said.

"Where's mommy and daddy?" I asked.

"They never came out of the fire." Meg's mom said.

"W-what?" I said, in shock.

I started crying, and everyone around me hugged me.

"But luckily, Ashley here saved you." the doctor said to me.

Even after that, I continued crying.

That is how it all began, my nightmare.
