Like a Pangolin, Shin-Ah's curled himself into a giant ball. Though lacking keratin scales and having much more fur, he looks as threatening as a baby mouse.
Though to be fair, he isn't trying to be threatening, just a little nervous or perhaps the right word really is that he has no worries at the moment.
It's both baffling and in a sense, kind of cute. Eighteen year olds are young and full of adventure, still learning in waves. Perhaps that's what makes the cuteness not be in contradiction.
They're all young here, and Shin-Ah has spent so long without anyone human to talk to, which must have made things rather hard on him.
And yet all the ball does is keep him warm and hide his physical nakedness. There's a certain level of trust here or perhaps the word is gratitude. Gratitude for taking him out of the cave, for being his brother, for the chance to finally have friends.
Unlike a Pangolin, this isn't a defense mechanism, but instead flows as brightly as trust and love do, sometimes a surprise that comes when and where someone least expects to find it.
