Christine POV
While I was walking back to the cafeteria, I heard a voice, "Christine!"
I turned around, Raoul.
I ran over, and hugged him.
"I thought you had moved away!" I cried.
"No, my flight back here was just delayed a lot. I just checked into the office late." he told me.
"Well, it's 12:50. Lunch is almost over." I told him.
"It's okay. I ate on the plane. Do you want me to walk you to the cafeteria?" he asked me.
"Sure, I left my bag there anyways."
Raoul POV
I met Chris a while ago, back in third grade.
We were in PE, and Carlotta was also in our class.
Carlotta used to bully Christine every day, whether it be about her clothes, her hair, or the fact that her parents died.
One day, she took it too far, where she hit Christine in the stomach with a ball. Chris of course, was angry, and hit her back. Carlotta told on her, and Christine was about to get in trouble. But I stepped in, saying that Carlotta actually hit her with a ball. So, Christine got justice for once.
Since then, we've been friends, and in freshman year of high school, we started dating.
Since my father is the owner of the bank that everyone uses here, he had to go on a business trip during the Summer, and he brought his family, including me, with him.
I hated this of course since this meant I had to be away from Christine, but I still managed, and we got back today.
Now, I can see Christine has not changed one bit, but I like that.
Christine POV
"I just wanna say again, I'm so sorry!" Meg repeated once again.
"Meg, I told you, it's okay." I said, smiling at her.
"Alright, I just wanted to make sure you knew, and you felt better." she said.
"Well I do." I told her.
The bell rang, and I picked up my bag. Meg had Dance during that period, and I was in Drama. So, we said our farewells, and left.
I went over to the auditorium, and sat down in the front row.
Of course, Carlotta was there. She was wearing her usual over the top outfit and makeup. Her hair also looked like it had too much hairspray in it.
"Chris!" Jammes said to me.
"Is this about The Phantom again?" I asked.
"Yeah! I think he's gone off-campus to kill Ashley." she responded.
"Jammes, that most likely didn't happen." I said. "Most likely she got murdered by some dude who got bullied by her or something."
"I kinda do believe there's a force out there." Jammes said.
"Either way, I don't wanna be involved with that stuff. I'd rather stay alive." I joked.
"Haha. Very funny." Jammes said, sarcastically.
"It's alright, I think the legend is fun though."
"Alright. Fair enough. But don't come crawling back when he starts haunting you." Jammes said.
"Alright." I agreed.
When everyone arrived, our drama teacher, Andre, started talking. "This year, our musical is going to be… Sweeny Todd."
That's unusual for a high school to do, but okay.. What role should I try out for? Probably Johanna.
"Auditions will be on October 5th, you may choose whatever song you want."
Everyone will most likely sing Green Finch and Linnet Bird. So I'll just sing something like… In My Life from Les Miserables.
Problem: Carlotta's most likely gonna get Johanna. I'll most likely get like the Beggar woman, ensemble, or understudy.
I sighed, knowing that would definitely happen.
I'd have to go to my school's library after school, not only to do homework, but to get the sheet music for that song now.
After some talking about the show (I knew all of what he said already), and talking about the characters, we were done.
The bell rang, and I headed over to Choir. There, I met Meg. We both are sopranos (well, she's a soprano 2, and I'm a soprano 1) and sat down together.
Mr. Khan, our choir director, welcomed us to a new year, and congratulated us for making it to advanced choir.
He announced our choir performances (which fortunately, did not contradict with Drama), and said our first song we would be singing was surprisingly, Cups, from Pitch Perfect. There would only be one male tenor solo, and one soprano solo. Of course, Carlotta would most likely get it.
But we would not be performing this song until November, so for now, we would all sing the solos.
We sang about 3 other songs, until the bell rang. Finally, school was over. But I still had to do my homework, and go to the library.
I said goodbye for now to Meg, and headed to the library. I first did my math homework, then I studied a bit for gym, and dance.
Alright, now the fun homework first before english.
I went on the computer to search up the song, and found it almost immediately. I printed it out, and took my notes on it. He said about 32 bars of the song, so that was no problem. I tracked that down, and drew a line between the parts I would be singing.
I took a sip of my water bottle from my bag, and looked to see if anyone was around me. No? Good.

My voice cracked. Well, that was humiliating. Even though there was no one around me.
I lowered my head in shame.
"It's okay, child."
I jumped. It's that same voice again.
"Who the hell are you?" I asked, trying to find something to defend myself with.
"I'm your angel of music."
"Haha, very funny. Who are you really?"
"I am not joking. I am your angel of music."
Didn't this happen in Phantom of the Opera? I'm not falling for it. "Nice try, bud. I'm calling the police."
"Go ahead, try."
I picked up my phone, and saw that there was no signal. Okay, what was going on? This is a public school with wifi.
"What did you do? Did you cut out the wifi or something.?" I yelled out.
"I was sent by your mother to help you continue your singing journey." The voice ignored me.
"Why should I believe you?" I asked.
"Why would your mother lie to you?" The voice asked.
What- I mean, good point. My mother would never lie to me. And why would anyone try to trick me like this?
"From now on, you're going to meet me here everyday, around 5:15, when everyone has gone home." The voice announced. "I will teach you the basics on how to sing, and help you with songs. With some more training, you will be able to sing like an angel."
I thought about it for a second. "Okay, what should I call you?"
"Just call me, 'Angel.'." it answered.
"Okay. Angel? I need your advice."
"On what, my dear?"
His nickname sent a little shiver down my spine. "My English essay. Mr. White has instructed a 500 word essay on death."
He stayed silent for about 10 seconds, then spoke. "I know quite a bit about death. Death is something that separates people from love, and death is something that can happen naturally, and unnaturally." it said.
Odd answer. But okay. "That is all I can tell you."
"Thank you, angel." I said.
Actually, that helped quite a lot. I was about to get the essay done in about an hour.
"Angel, is it okay for us to do a quick singing lesson? My curfew is at 9:00. I'll just say that I got ice cream or something." I asked.
"Yes, of course, what would you like to practice?"
"In My Life from Les Miserables."
"Alright, let me know when you're ready. I'll start where you begin."
I cleared my throat, and took a breath.

I clenched my teeth, but took a deep breath, and did what he said.

"Stop. Sing with a more open mouth."
This went on for a while. Eventually, he stopped.
"It is 8:30. I suggest you get home."
I nodded my head. "Thank you for the help."
"You're welcome, my dear."
Later, when we had finished dinner, and I was washing the dishes, Meg asked me a question I had been dreading. "Where were you?"
"I was getting ice cream." I lied.
Meg didn't look entirely convinced, but he stayed quiet. "Does this have something to do with your boyfriend?"
Okay, I may not have told them about Raoul, but it was only because I knew they wouldn't approve.
"What are you talking about? I don't have a boyfriend." I lied, once again.
"Chris, it's easy to find out. Don't worry, I won't tell them. Just don't be surprised when he breaks your heart."
I sighed, this was better than him suspecting me taking lessons from, "The Angel Of Music."
"Alright. Thanks." I said to Meg.
That was better than Lucas finding out about my boyfriend. He would've hung it over me and teased me about it non-stop.
At around 10:00, I excused myself from downstairs, said goodnight to everyone.
I took a quick shower, brushed my hair a tiny bit, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and put on my pajamas.
I read a bit of a book, and then eventually got tired, so I turned off the light, and fell asleep.
The Voice POV
I looked at her. She was so beautiful while she slept. And soon, she's going to be all mine.
Problem is: she's alive, I'm dead. And the only way I can make her immortal (not dead, I would never harm her) is by making the Panthesis Potion. This is made when you find 3 things: 3 hairs of dead people with broken hearts (I already found 1), the corpse of someone who you truly hate, and the feeling of love.
I always thought I would never get these things, since I never have loved anybody in my whole entire life, but I was wrong. Now, I am beginning to love her.
The problem is: I hate everybody (but Christine), but I do not truly hate anyone. Also, I need to be able to somehow get her feeling of love before making her immortal. I will, soon. But for now, I need to keep pretending like I'm her angel of music.
She's so trusting, thinking I'm her angel. This is why I need to be with her, and keep her-
What's the matter with you? You're all obsessed with this girl.
I calmed myself down, and went back home.
I had been composing my music, but I couldn't find any inspiration. Not without her around. What's wrong with me? I was working just fine before I heard her sing. Yet without her, my music is empty. I could not function. I sighed, and just played some Mozart.
I would forever remain empty until she was with me.
