The Gem Homeworld, the planet where all Gems and the Diamonds originate from. However, today, it is the scene of a major invasion by the group known as Dark Future.

"Ah…so many gems….so little time." Energy Crisis said as she stuck her arms into a machine as multiple humanoid machines powered up. "All miners! Your mission is to harvest every single gem on this planet! No shattering. They must be perfectly intact for our plan to work."

The miners beeped in confirmation as they marched onto the Gem Homeworld.

"They're programming couldn't be any simpler. By fueling them with my power, they can use some of their applications. Such as…" Energy Crisis said as she watched one miner firing a laser at a jasper soldier, poofing them before sucking in the Gem. "They can take out their physical forms easily and absorb their gems into the collection tanks built inside their bodies."

The Dark Future sub-leader watched as the robots marched across the planet, poofing and capturing any Gem they came across.

"This couldn't be more perfect. In a few hours, all the Gems will be good for is providing energy." Energy Crisis said. "An ironic fate for those planet destroying blockheads."

"Oh wow….there's a whole bunch of them." Miles said, looking down from the Galaxy King.

"They aren't going to stop until they get every Gem. We need to stop them before things get worse." Jexi said.

"These miners run on some sort of joint battery. If we can take out their power source, they'll all collapse like a circuit." Jeremie said.

"Though…the power source is probably…" Aelita began.

"Energy Crisis." Izuku said.

"Then we gotta find her." Goku said. "Good thing I can sense energy. I'll just focus on the largest source of the energy the bots are running off of."

Goku closed his eyes for a moment, sensing energy, before he pointed down to an out-of-the way place down below. "There. That's where she is."

"Alright, then let us take down that nasty no-good-doer!" Papyrus declared as the group prepared to disembark.

Meanwhile, Mark was flying through Homeworld before he came to a stop above a yellow building.

"This must be Yellow's place." Mark noted. "This is where Steven's energy is. Hate to just barge in, but…"

Mark's thoughts on breaking and entering were cut off when the side of the building exploded open, the combination of Blue Diamond, Yellow Diamond, Steven, Connie, and the poofed Crystal Gems fell out and down towards a platform below.

"Never mind." Mark mused, flying down and landing beside Steven and Connie. "Okay, looks like we missed a lot."

"Mark!" Steven said. "We need to help the others! They got poofed by the Diamonds and…"

"You'd hurt a fellow Diamond?!" Yellow yelled as she and Blue faced off, each on one side of the three T.C. members.

"Uh… Steven? Why are Yellow and Blue fighting each other?" Mark asked.

"Well, basically they grounded me after I fused with Connie during a ball, then Blue realized how much Pink was hurt by their treatment of her, so she's helping us to get the others. Now we need to help Yellow realize she's in the wrong about having to follow White." Steven said.

"Okay, that makes sense." Mark nodded, before lightning surged above them, hitting Blue and knocking her down. "Whoa! Yeah, we need to call this fight off now!"

"Stop!" Steven yelled at Yellow before he summoned his shield and threw it at her, knocking her hand away and canceling her electricity. "You don't have to do this!"

"Yes, I do! This is what White Diamond expects of all of us." Yellow said, towering over them. "From a thin flake of mica, to the deepest, hardest stone. We all must make sacrifices for the sake of our perfect empire."

"Does this look perfect to you?!" Steven asked, causing Yellow's anger to falter as she looked at Blue, then at the damage around them. "My dad says that 'If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs.'"

"And what does that mean?" Yellow asked.

"It means if you try and make this empire perfect; if you just wipe away everything you see as flawed, you lose all the things that make you happy, like hot dogs." Steven explained.

"Or our Pink." Blue Diamond said.

Yellow's face was a mixture of realization and weakness as she collapsed to her knees. "Uhh... Stop! Stop it, Blue. Stop using your power on me." Yellow said through tears.

"I'm not." Blue said, surprised at the display. Getting up, she walked over to Yellow and comforted her, a moment of silence that was only broken by Mark.

"Uh, I hate to ruin this touching moment, but I think we have a problem…" Mark pointed up to Yellow's palace, where the two Topaz guards were poofed and captured by two miners.

"Wait, what are those things?!" Connie asked.

"Miner robots from Dark Future." Mark answered. "Basically, they want to turn the entire Gem species into living batteries for them to use. We need to stop them."

The two Miners jumped down to the platform and aimed to fire at the group, before lightning hit them, shorting them out.

"You guys okay down there?" Elementa asked.

"Hey Elementa!" Mark waved. "Glad you could make it. You missed a pretty nice family bonding moment, though."

"Give us the highlights later, we know how to stop the bots." Emo said. "Energy Crisis is powering them. We stop her, the miners shut down."

"Strange how those two Miners shut down." Alkal said.

"We probably overloaded their energy input. These things can only take so…much…power." Twilight said. "That's it…I have an idea on how to beat her."

"Heh, we're making good progress." Energy Crisis mused. "It's only been a half-hour and we have 10% of the Gems captured. By the end of the day, this whole planet will be deserted."

"Yeah, would be a shame if something happened to their power source." a voice said, causing the Dark Future sub-leader to turn around, seeing the group standing before her.

"Oh, right. You all." Energy Crisis said. "Guess I'll just have to deal with you myself."

"On behalf of the Universal Police, you are violating Multiverse law number 657: enslaving an entire species." CP said. "For this, we shall bring you down, and you shall answer to justice!"

"Yeah, right. Have you forgotten what my powers do?" Energy Crisis asked, energy veins glowing. "This won't take long at all."

"For once, we agree." Mark said. "Hey Nathan, you said you wanted to be a singer. Have any good songs?"

"Yeah, I think I got one." Nathan said as the group prepared for battle, their opponent doing the same.

Energy Crisis

(Cue: Heroes Never Die - NateWantsTo Battle)

"I wonder how long it's been since I enjoyed myself. I'll just have to take my time then." Energy Crisis said as she gathered some power before firing beams of pure energy.

"She's definitely living up to her name." Jexi said. "But that's fine. Ultimate Color…Shining Ray!" Jexi said, unleashing a focused light ray at her.

"Ah ah…" Energy Crisis said as she started to absorb it. "I absorb energy. Energy based attacks are worthless, especially when I can send them right back."

"Wrath! Kamehameha!" Mark yelled, unleashing a red-colored Ki blast at Energy Crisis, the criminal absorbing it as well.

"And yet, here you are, giving me more ammo!" Energy Crisis laughed. "What exactly are you kids trying to do?"

"Win. And it's working!" Emo said, firing a magic missile at her, once again, the attack getting absorbed.

"What're you…" Energy Crisis started before noticing the veins on her were glowing even brighter then they had even been. "Wait a minute…you can't seriously be trying to…!"

"We are. Your body is like one big battery. You can take in and send out energy. However, if the energy input exceeds the output…it causes an overload." Twilight explained.

"I'll just…" Energy Crisis tried to release the energy but found it difficult.

"We also figured you couldn't absorb and release at the same time." Double D said. "You can't unleash your energy until you're finished with your intake."

"So…have yourself all you can eat!" Kaminari called out as he sent out electricity at her as she started absorbing it.

"Wait…wait…we can work something out!" Energy Crisis said as her veins glowed brighter and brighter. "We'll split the profits from this!"

"You think we care about money? Hardly." Jexi said. "These Gems may not have real bodies, but they're beings with thoughts and emotions just like us."

"Love, Laughter, Comraderie, Belonging…these things and more are what they all truly want." Elementa said.

"Please…it…it hurts so much." Energy Crisis begged as her veins started to surge from all the excess energy.

"Then you know their pain." Mark and Jexi said before a large explosion occurred from Energy Crisis, blinding the area in bright light. When it faded, Energy Crisis was sprawled out on the ground.

(end song)

"Is she…?" ZS asked as Mark walked over to her and checked her pulse.

"No. She's alive, though she probably wishes she wasn't." Mark said. "We'll call the Universal Police, have them detain her once we're done."

"Uh…done with what? The miners are shutting down." Eddy said, pointing to several nearby Miners that were slumping towards the ground.

"No…they're only part of why we're here." Jexi said, looking to the large white head in the distance.

"White Diamond…" Elementa said.

"Steven needs her to heal those corrupted Gems." Mark said. "So we have to convince her to help…one way or another."

"Oh, this is gonna be the big one, I can already tell…" Eddy said.
