Janicka put on her shoes and jacket, walked out in the kitchen, and grabbed a bagel. She needed to act like any other morning, and she always grabbed a bagel and ate it on her way to work.

"Have fun at work," Trish said.
"Thanks," Janicka said.

Janicka walked over to the kitchen door but stopped and looked back at her mother.

"I think you should look for a job," Janicka said.
"Why do I need a job when you got one?" Trish smirked. "Have a nice day, honey."

Janicka nodded and walked out of the kitchen. Trish had no idea those would be the last words she would ever speak to her own daughter. Janicka grabbed her backpack and left the house. Normally she would carry her tools and lunch in that backpack. Today she had packed it with some clothes for a couple of days.

Instead of going to work, she ran through the town, crossed the bridge, went through the forest, and reached Roman's home. She walked inside and saw him with the phone to his ear and a smile on his face.

"I'm so happy to hear that. Thank you. Have a great day," he said.

He hung up and kept his eyes on her. She knew it was the three months check-up call after his vasectomy. They had spent three months planning their escape, and this was the final thing he needed before they could leave.

"No swimmers!" He yelled.
"Yes!" She squealed.

She dropped the backpack, ran to him, and jumped up in his arms. They both laughed as he swung her around. He stopped and kissed her before lowering her back down on the floor.

"Did you pack any kinky underwear?" He asked.
"Why do I need underwear around you?" She smirked.

He smirked back and kissed her again.

"Just some clothes for a couple of days. We need to go shopping as soon as we arrive," she said.

He patted his back pocket with his wallet. His bank card was there, and they would go on one big hell of a shopping spree in their new town. Over the last three months they had looked for a place to live, found the perfect home, and bought it. He had put his current home up for sale, and it had been sold the week prior. Something he had only told her. His parents would find out once he was long gone.

"I also got a mail yesterday that all the tools have arrived. Work benches will arrive next week," he said.

She smiled warmly at him. She had been adamant not to live off his money alone. They had decided to start a woodwork business together. That was why it had taken extra time to find the right place to live. They needed a house and a business. They had found both in what appeared to be a cool place to live. A big town where no one was divided like they had been here.

"I'm really excited for you to teach me woodwork," he said. "I might suck though."
"You might not," she shrugged. "If you suck, you can be my assistant."
"What does your assistant do?" He asked.
"Answer the phone, take orders, make me coffee, bring lunch, fuck me after work," she said.

He laughed and pulled her close.

"Oh, I'll fuck you, alright. Don't worry about that," he grinned.
"Did our bed arrive?" She asked.
"Everything has been delivered over the last two weeks. I paid some guys to put the furniture together. We still have a lot of unpacking to do and decide where forks, plates and whatever will go. But everything is there except for us, and we're going now," he said.
"We're going," she smiled. "We're fucking leaving this place behind for good."

Someone knocked on the door. He smiled at her and went out to open. His real estate agent was standing there. She picked up her backpack and walked out of the house while Roman gave the key to the real estate agent.

"Nice doing business with you," Roman said.
"If you ever need to buy or sell anything else, you got my number," the real estate agent said.
"I doubt I'll need anything but thanks," Roman said.

Roman smiled at Janicka and they both walked over to his car. He opened the trunk so she could place her backpack down there with the things he had chosen to pack from his home. He closed the trunk again, and they both got into the car. He took one final look back at the house, and then looked at her.

"This place never felt like home," he said. "With you, I am home."
"I love you so much, Roman," she said.
"Twice around the sun and back?" He asked.
"I'll go around three times for you," she laughed.

He grinned, leaned over, and kissed her.

"I love you, chipmunk," he said. "Are you ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be," she said.
"Let's get the fuck out of this cruel town then," he said.
"Take us home," she said.
