The roar of the Black Hawk rang in her ears. She climbed aboard it and strapped herself into a seat.

"MG42!" her squadmate and fellow T-doll, Kar98k, called to her over the sound of the helicopter. "Do you have the package?"

"Ja," Mg42 pulled out the data disk to show the squad leader.

"Pilot, we have the package. Get us out of here." Kar98k yelled toward the front of the helicopter as she climbed in. Mg42 put the disk back into her bag as the helicopter took off.

"What are you planning to do once we get back, Kar?" M590 said from her seat next to Mg42.

"First me and MP40 are going to make a little visit to the commander. Don't worry, I was only planning to make sure the data disk made it to his hands," she gave a playful wink, "after that I was planning to stop by the cafe and maybe find out today's special."

"I hear it's supposed to be a combination pizza with sausage, ham, peppers, mushrooms, and pepperoni, Ma'am." MP40 said. She sat opposite to Kar98k in the crew section behind the pilots.

"That sounds so good!" Mg42 said. "I feel so hungry I could eat as much as Spas, I think."

"Good luck with that," M590 laughed, "she can eat a lot. I once saw her eat an entire pig and an entree. She was going to get dessert too if Springfield hadn't stopped her.

"I feel that hungry, is what I'm saying, but I guess you're right. I don't think I could actually eat that much." MG42 then looked out across the snow covered mountains below the chopper. The serenity of the cold mountain range took on its own sense of beauty as it passed below. She looked up to the overcast horizon and almost froze in fear.

"Uh, Kar? Is that Jupiter Cannon aiming at us?" Mg42 pointed to a black giant emplacement cannon in the distance.

"Uh," Mg42 turned back toward the now scrambling Kar98k as she tried to turn around to look. Suddenly the sound of a large cannon firing filled their ears. Soon enough, something rocked the chopper and warning lights and beeps replaced much of the rotor sounds.

"We lost the tail rotor, We're going down!" the pilot yelled back to them. Mg42 gripped her seat straps as she noticed the chopper was spinning out of control. She closed her eyes and gritted her teeth hoping the following crash wouldn't be too bad.

Mp40 opened her eyes. She was still in her seat, but she looked toward M590 and noticed something off about her slumped form.

"Mossberg?" she held a hand to her mouth out of habit. Quickly unbuckling, Mp40 moved to further inspect the Shotgun. The poor T-doll had splinters all over her but a piece of helicopter blade had directed itself into her chest. The doll was effectively dead.

Mp40 wanted to shed a tear for her dead comrade, but she knew they needed to keep moving. Grabbing her smg and saber, she next went to inspect the pilots. As she peeked around the pilot's seat her heart, or the T-doll equivalent, sank once more. The cockpit had been squished by a tree. The pilots were most certainly dead. She then moved to inspect their squad leader, but was surprised when she started moving.

"Kar?!" Mp40 asked.

"40, what's the team's status?" the rifle squirmed with discomfort.

"Ma'am, I'm still determining that but so far the pilots are dead and… so is M590." her face saddened a little. Kar98k's eyes widened slightly.

"I see. What about Mg42?"

"I was going to check on her after I checked on you." The squad leader unbuckled herself as Mp40 spoke. The two then moved to the still unconscious but rather unscathed MG.

"No visible wounds, though we lack the ability to check her inner hardware." MP40 said.

"That's good, I suppose." The squad leader looked out toward the surrounding frozen forest and MP40 did the same, her thoughts wandering to how long they had before Sangvis Ferri's forces showed up.

"Gather what supplies you can, MP40." Kar98k spoke while still watching the forest. "Also check the dummy links."

"Yes, Ma'am." checking the dummy links wouldn't be hard as they were…

"Uh, where are they?" Mp40 asked. Typically the back wall of the transport would have a row of seats, however Griffin and Kryuger Black Hawks started replacing this back seat with spare dummy link cases for situations similar to the one the dolls found themselves in. Normally there would be about 4 cases but they were gone.

"The straps must've been cut, so they probably flew out when the chopper was going down." Kar98k said. She was trying to wake up Mg42.

"Which means we don't have any dummy links," Mp40 sighed. A dummy link allows T-dolls basically another body which they can control at the same time as themselves. Without them, the 3 T-dolls would be facing a very steep uphill battle.

Mp40 now went toward the crew section. Here she would begin gathering the ammo cases and what little rations she could find. Once gathered, she began rationing the supplies into three backpacks that dolls use to carry ammo and rations on missions. Once done, she moved these bags out of the chopper.

Kar98k was now watching the forest and, on the ground, sat Mg42 who was trying to eat a chocolate bar, but seemed a little too shaken to eat it at a normal pace.

"We don't have many rations, but there should be a decent amount of ammo for us if we use it carefully." Mp40 started. She placed the bags on the ground. "Ma'am? We T-dolls don't have much autonomy in the field like this. Without a human commander, how are we supposed to know what to do? Let alone accomplish the mission."

"Prior to this mission, I was given a command protocol," Kar98k replied, "This will allow me to give orders to you in place of a commander. The commander foresaw this situation being a possible outcome due to us jumping into Sangvis territory."

"So what do we do?" Mg42 asked.

"Here's the plan," the leader turned to face them as she spoke, "there's an abandoned town east by northeast of us. We can reach it by nightfall, but Sangvis will most likely anticipate this."

"Is there another way?" Mg42 once again asked, but Kar98k shook her head.

"It's our best chance of accomplishing the mission. We would be overrun by Sangvis if we try to walk to friendly territory. Once at the city, I will draw the attention of the enemy while you two run to the airfield." the leader now contacted them within their neural clouds, showing a map of the town. A red dot appeared over the airfield.

"But, Ma'am." Mp40 finally spoke up. "You will…"

"It's fine, as long as you get the data to the commander. That's the most important thing."

"But, Kar." The MG looked more distraught.

"If someone doesn't do this, we will all die, 42." The leader raised her voice in response, "I know you care about me, both of you. I appreciate it, but since I'm the highest ranking doll here I must convince the Sangvis ringleader that I have the data disk and draw their forces away from you two. It's better to sacrifice one of us instead of the whole squad."

"The ringleaders command the dolls that make up the main forces of Sangvis Ferri. If she takes the bait, this will make it easier for us to escape as she won't be looking for us." Mp40 said.

"We should get going," Kar said as she disconnected from their Digiminds.

"Should I finish my chocolate bar?" Mg42 asked. She looked concerned and a bit sad.

"Yes, that should be fine." Kar98k picked up her bag.

"Come on, 42." Mp40 handed the Mg the bag she had prepared for her. "We'll be fine, Kar will get remade too and we'll all be back in the cafe soon enough." The machine gun gave her a weak smile as she stood. The squad then began moving out with Kar98k in the lead.
