After what Charlotte went through yesterday, it didn't surprise Damon that she slept through the night. He slept as well, the feeling of a warm body next to his was very comforting. He awoke before her and looked at the blonde still locked in his arms. She was smiling slightly in her sleep and that caused him to smile as well. Watching over her for a moment, he noticed her pale coloring and dark circles under her eyes. It was evident to him that she hadn't been taking care of herself, so he made up his mind to help her.
Getting out of bed quietly and quickly, he made his way to their large kitchen and found Stefan and Elena already getting their coffee. When he began grabbing ingredients from the fridge, Stefan began his questions.
"What are you doing, Damon?" Rolling his eyes, Damon glanced at him. "I'm getting ingredients for breakfast."
Stefan frowned and looked at his brother. "So she's staying here? You guys talked?"
Damon knew his brother wouldn't ease up so after sighing loudly, he turned to Stefan. "She came here wanting to spend her last days with me and had hope that I would be able to cure her. You know as well as I that our blood cannot cure Cancer so she is going to be staying with us for the last 6 months of her life. I'm going to do everything that I can do help her while she is here because I owe that to her. I fed on her and just left her there to die after pouring out my heart to her about Katherine. Does that answer your questions, Stefan? Are you satisfied?"
Stefan opened his mouth to say something but Elena put her hand on his shoulder and shook her head. "Sorry for the questions, Damon. What are you making her?"
Damon turned to Elena and shrugged. "I'm not sure yet. I thought about a garden omelette with spinach, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms with feta cheese, greek yogurt, hot vanilla tea and almonds." Looking over everything, Elena couldn't stop the smile on her face. "That's where you were yesterday...you were some place looking up things about her cancer! You wanted to be prepared because you knew she would come here."
Damon smirked down at her and winked. "I'm not the heartless monster I used to be, Elena. I was actually pleasantly surprised that she showed up here." Looking at him with pride in her eyes, Elena nodded and moved back to Stefan. We will leave you to it." After they left, Damon made her breakfast as soon as he could and soon, he was making his way back up the stairs.
Charlotte was still asleep when he brought up the tray and he set it on the end of the bed as he slid in next to her, placing a kiss on her forehead. "Wake up Charlotte. I brought breakfast." His whispered words caused her eyes to open wide and stare into his in wonder. "I thought I had dreamed it all." Tears filled her eyes and her soft sobs filled the room. Pain flashed in his eyes for a moment and he shook his head. "No dream here. Just yummy breakfast."
Charlotte sat up and Damon reached forward to put the tray of food in front of her. Taking in the food that he'd brought her, she looked at him gratefully. "Thank you for this. It smells delicious." She dug into the omelette happily, Damon munching on a few almonds as he watched her eat.
She began to feel self conscious and she paused, looking at him. "I don't normally eat this much. I'm just so hungry." Damon nodded, scooting down to lay against his pillows as he turned to her. "It's because you don't eat enough. You need these proteins and foods to keep your strength up. It's why you're so pale and skinny and have those circles. Just wait, after my diet you'll start to look like your old self."
Charlotte's eyes moved over his face as she began to smile. "Thank you for being so kind to me, Damon." Grinning up at her, he ate a few more almonds and shook his head. "No need to thank me. Finish eating and then we will take a shower." Her face flamed and her eyes widened, causing Damon to chuckle darkly. "Separately, of course. I know you're still untouched." Turning her attention back to the food, she poked at her omelette with her fork. "How do you know that?"
Damon moved closer to her face, and closed his eyes as he inhaled deeply. "I can smell it." His eyes opened and searched hers. "The smell of your innocence is mouthwatering." Her eyes widened again and she flushed as she studied her omelette again. "Are we going to have sex?"
Her question threw him off guard and Damon blinked, leaning back against his pillows. "That would have to depend on you, Charlotte. Do YOU want to have sex with me? It would be your first time ever and after that I wouldn't be sharing you with anyone else...well, unless you wanted to sleep with someone else."
She turned to him quickly, her hair flying around her face. "Of course I want to have sex with you, Damon. You're the only man I've ever wanted to have sex with."
Her admission actually caused him to flush and he looked away, his gaze looking out the window. "Well, that would have to be talked about later on down the road. I can't lie and say that I don't think about it, but I don't want to hurt you. We will broach the subject again when you're stronger."
Seeing that she made him flush caused her to smile. "If we did do that, you'd be my first in everything." Damon froze, his shocked eyes turning to her. "You've...you've never even been KISSED?!"
Flushing, Charlotte finished her tea before answering. "I've never done anything. I've never wanted to before I met you." Damon sat up, looking back at her. "Are you finished with this?" Nodding, Charlotte watched as he took the tray and put it on his dresser. Coming back to the bed, Damon stretched out next to her, watching her as she lay back down. "You want your first kiss to be me?"
His question was a whisper and she blinked at him as he lifted up on his elbow, looking down at her. "Y-yes." She admitted, her voice a breathy whisper as her cheeks flushed.
Damon's eyes softened and he reached up to caress her cheek. "I can't believe you've never been kissed." His thumb moved across her lips and he watched as she swallowed. Her pulse began to hammer in his ears and he licked his lips before looking into her eyes, silently asking permission. When she nodded, he slowly lowered his head until his lips ghosted against hers.
Charlotte gasped and her eyes closed, her hands clenching the comforter around her. Damon rubbed his lips lightly against hers, barely adding pressure if only to tease her for a moment. When her tongue came out to wet her lips, he saw his chance. He added pressure and touched his tongue to hers, causing Charlotte to freeze and her eyes to fly open.
His eyes met hers and he moved forward, slowly stroking her tongue with his. Their eyes closed at the same time as he moved closer to her and her hands slid up his back and into his hair. He hummed at the feeling and deepened the kiss, causing a shudder to take over Charlotte as she moaned. He kissed her until he felt her breathing shudder. Pulling away, he looked down at her and almost chuckled at her dazed look. "How was that for a first kiss?"
The sun was shining in her eyes as she looked up at him, her cheeks flushed and her mouth stretched in an elated smile. "It was perfect."
