A New Member : Chapter 2

It's been a few weeks since the death of their parents and since then her twin brothers have been working hard as Subway Masters. They only barely have time with her and she's fine with that and understand that they need to do their work. But Ingo and Emmet were adamant to keep her around them at the stations where they would be working, so Ayla would be following them like a lost Lillipup from station to another station. It was restricting for Ayla but she knew that they were just afraid to let her out of their sight for too long and she didn't really have anything else to do so she went along with it.

Today, she was waiting for both her older brothers at the station bench while their train went ahead to do some battle with some challengers. Ayla wanted to do something but even she didn't have any homework since she hasn't gone back to school yet. She realized she was afraid to be away from her brothers for too long as well.

The 9 year old sighed leaning on the bench back while her long silver grey hair that she tied on a low ponytail with yellow green ribbon hang loosely on her back. Her slightly unruly hair was ruffled by the brushing air from the train cars moving when she faintly heard it.

There was an Eevee. A wild one it seems. It looked around with a confuse look on it's face. Ayla slowly sat up straighter when she saw two trainers with bunch of Eeveelutions around them walked out of a train car. The two trainers were carrying a bunch of evolution stones for Eevee. They probably sell them somewhere. She saw them all when the lightning stone fell from the boy's grip and slide down towards the wild Eevee.

It accidentally touched it.

"Ah!" the boy was shocked but the Eevee already evolved to a Jolteon.

Ayla stood up by then. The two trainers Eeveelutions stood up straighter and tensed up. The newly evolved Jolteon was so surprised, he run up scared to hide behind Ayla's legs.

Ayla can only blinked and looked at him before looking back at the two trainers whom look so guilty at her.

Huh?

"We're so sorry!" "We didn't mean to!" both trainers look at each other and bowed deeply at her before running off yelling, "We're really sorry! Please forgive us from evolving your Eevee!" their Eeveelutions following behind them quickly before all of them vanished from the station.

Ayla's eyes widened and blinked in disbelief.

What?!

Ayla looked down and saw Jolteon looked happy that they were gone before curling around her legs nuzzling.

Both trainers had thought he was her Eevee.

She doesn't even have any pokemon. Her brothers' pokemon were enough for all three of them and that's not even adding yet about Emmet's Galvantula who had two new Joltiks just a week before.

Ayla was at complete lost on what to do.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Ingo and Emmet's train car has arrived and both of them walked out from the door to seek their sister. They look as surprised as she was when they saw Jolteon nuzzling and curling around her legs.

"Uh.. I didn't do it?" Ayla squeaked nervously with a shrug and placate hands. Ingo and Emmet were standing still trying to comprehend the situation in front of them. Chandelure and Eelektross who were following behind her brothers just look on amusedly.

Emmet finally rubbed his forehead when a sudden migraine hit him while Ingo pinched his nose before sighing,

"Explain, Ayla."

Ayla gulped.

"So that's what happened." Emmet laughed after hearing Ayla's story. Ayla herself was sitting on the bench again with two Joltiks on her head while Jolteon sat near where her legs were dangling.

"It's not funny." Ayla grumbled, trying to hide her grumbling face under her white dress shirt collars which was a little bigger from her size. It was her brother's and she liked it. It felt like they are close to her all the time. A little, but it helped.

Her feet were swaying back and forth under her long black skirt. Her clothes were considered formal but she liked it the way it is.

Ingo sighed before asking, "Do you want to keep him?"

Ayla looked up to him, surprised. Her brothers were so tall, even when she's fully grown she has no hope on beating them on height category. Ingo knelt down on one knee to be on her eye level, "We knew you felt lonely around these past few weeks, and it was selfish of us to keep you around all the time while you can't do anything-"

"I don't mind." Ayla cut in and seeing Ingo's surprised look she assured him, "I really don't mind, it's just.." she trailed off, didn't really know how to put her feelings into words.

Her brothers understand though, they are good like that, "Regardless, me and Ingo-"

"Ingo and I." Ingo instantly corrected. Emmet rolled his eyes,

"Ingo and I decided that you need a friend to be around to accompany you and to make sure you're okay as well, and Jolteon here seems to be a good solution."

"But he's a wild Eevee. He was just coincidentally evolved into Jolteon too soon for his liking." Ayla protested weakly.

"I know you know that yourself knew Jolteon didn't mind with evolving. You're good with pokemon." Which was their gifts around pokemon but that doesn't mean every single pokemon like them. Understanding their intentions and meanings doesn't mean pokemon would instantly tolerates them.

"Why don't you just ask him?" Emmet asked.

Ayla hesitated but with Ingo's encouraging nod and Emmet's bright smile, Ayla knelt down to look at Jolteon whom looked up hopefully at her.

"Do.. do you want to stay with me? I-I don't really do pokemon battles, I don't really like them but that doesn't mean I hate them, It's just- well- I mean-" Ayla rubbed her head in self-frustation while Jolteon looked at her amused. He nuzzled her again as a yes.

"Here you go." Ingo gave her a pokeball. Ayla threw the pokeball gently and Jolteon didn't struggle at all until the ball clicked. Every owned pokemon was registered by Rotoms, so Jolteon was officially owned by Ayla now.

Ayla let Jolteon out again who returned near her legs and keep nuzzling her. Ingo and Emmet looked on amused, "This little guy sure is cuddly." Emmet comments with a big amused grin.

"He is.." Ayla petted his head gently. A spark of lightning came out, Jolteon looked on to Ayla worriedly but Ayla only blinked and gave him a small smile, "I live with Emmet's Eelektross and Galvantula all the time. I'm a little more resistant with electricity than normal humans do because of it." She assured Jolteon who smiled and nuzzled her again, happy and content.

For the long years ahead, true to Ingo and Emmet had said, Jolteon becomes one of her bestest friend and a true companion to the little girl who had lost two of her family and gained another one.

It won't be the only new family she gained in the future.
