Driving on what could be an eerie night can be dangerous. You never know what's going to jump out. Someone is about to see that. a security guard was driving down the road until he was forced to stop.
"What the?" The guard said as he saw a large tree was being blocked by a tree. "That's not good. I've got to get this thing out of the way." He tried pushing the tree out of the way, but what he didn't know was that someone was coming at after him. Inside the bushes was something stepping out. That man wore blue pants and boots with a white coat hanging over his shoulders with black fur inside and white fur around his pants. The freaky part was that he had a skull for a head with him wearing a headpiece similar to a Native American chief with green feathers on top. He creeped his way over to the guard without the guard even seeing him until it was too late.
...
The Gang
"What a fun idea having a party at a barn." Lucy said as the gang was on the road.
"You said it. Great food, dancing, maybe some cow tipping." Natsu said as he could just imagine the type of fun they could have.
"Don't be silly. We're not allowed to touch the animals in the first place." Erza said. Either way, they're all looking forward to this party. Even Happy was getting ready as he was cleaning himself up.
"Check out Happy. I've heard of getting catty, but this is ridiculous." Lucy joked, but Happy didn't care. He even used a mirror to check himself out.
"Hey! What's that up ahead?!" Gray said as he had to stop. They found the guard against the fallen tree, but he appeared to be unconscious. Once they saw that, they all got out to see if they could help the man. "Is this guy okay?"
"I think so, but it looks like he's got a nasty bump on his head." Erza said as she was checking on him.
"Hey! Over here!" Natsu said as he found some tire tracks in the ground. "It looks like he's been carjacked. These tire tracks head off the road." They heard the guard groaning as he was trying to wake up.
"Are you okay? Can you tell us who did this?" Erza questioned.
"The... The Shaman..." The guard groaned as he had trouble staying awake.
"The Shaman? What's a shaman?" Natsu questioned.
"They're people usually found in tribes that have connections to good and evil spirits." Lucy said. "I don't know what he's talking about, but we should get him some help right now."
"I saw a house a couple miles back. Maybe someone there can help." Gray said as he tried lifting the guy up and hoped that there was someone who can actually help them.
...
The House
The gang drove back a couple miles to the house that Gray mentioned earlier. It belonged to a guy named Mr. Brain, a man neatly dressed with dark skin and silver hair. When they arrived, they told him all about what they found.
"We're sorry to bother you, Mr. Brain." Gray said.
"No, you did the right thing by bringing him here." Mr. Brain said. "This guard actually works at the bank that I manage. Alerting me about this was a good idea. We should just be glad that he's going to be okay. Did you kids learn anything about what happened?"
"We think someone stole his car, but he mentioned someone who is called the Shaman." Erza said.
"Who is this Shaman?" Natsu questioned.
"The Shaman is a figure with a skull for a head." Mr. Brain said. "He's actually been causing trouble at my bank for some time. He sneaks inside and swipes some money from our vault, but all the doors and windows remained lock."
"How does he do it then?" Erza questioned.
"No one knows. Some believe it's the work of dark magic." Mr. Brain said.
"Freaky." Lucy said as she got off the phone. "I just left a message for the sheriff, but it might be some time before he shows up. So, what do we do about the barn party?"
"You kids run along. I'll make sure the guard is taken care of." Mr. Brain said. Seeing that the guard was left in good hands, it looks like the gang did all that they could and trusted the guard with him.
...
The Barn
The gang went on ahead to the party happening at the barn. Everyone was having fun with there being dancing, music, great food, and so much more. It seemed like there was nothing to worry about.
"Check it out, Happy." Natsu said as he and Happy eyed the food. "I don't know what to try first." He and Happy helped themselves to whatever they could. As for Gray and the girls, they all hung back and enjoyed the music.
"This is a fun little party." Lucy said.
"Yeah. Who knew a barn could be such fun." Gray said. As he just hang back, he stuck his hand in his pocket. When he did, he felt something strange in there. "What the heck? What's in my pocket?" He dug around in there and pulled out a small device.
"What is it, Gray?" Erza asked as she and Lucy noticed it.
"I'm not sure. I just found it." Gray said.
"It looks like some sort of flashdrive." Lucy said.
"How did this get in my pocket? It's not mine." Gray said. It was weird how a drive just appeared in Gray's pocket. What none of them knew was that something else was about to happen. The Shaman was just outside the barn. Everything was going well in the barn until all the lights went out and everyone was wondering what just happened.
"What happened to the lights?" Erza questioned.
"I'm not sure. Something must have cut the power." Gray said. "I'll go check it out." Gray hurried outside and tried following the lines to the barn's power until he came across a spot that's been cut. "That's not good." Gray hurried back inside to share what he saw. "Bad news, everyone. It looks like a line has been cut."
"How can that be? A line couldn't cut itself." Lucy said.
"I'm not sure what happened, but I think the party is over. Might as well clear out and find some other place to hang." Gray said with everyone disappointed, but it seems like there's nothing they can really sure. Soon, everyone started to clear out of the barn until the gang were the only ones left.
"Natsu! Happy! Will you hurry up?!" Erza called.
"Give us a moment. You were the that said that we can't just leave the barn like this. We're taking out the last of the trash." Natsu said. "You got the last of it, Happy?" Happy showed he got all the trash he could. The two of them went out back to find a place to leave the trash. "We can just leave it by that weird scarecrow." Natsu and Happy walked over to what they thought was a scarecrow.
"Rrraaaaggghhhh!" When they heard it groan like that, they knew what it really was: the Shaman.
"Yikes! That's no scarecrow!" Natsu shouted as he and Happy dropped the trash and ran out of there.
"What's taking those two?" Erza questioned as she looked in the barn, but ended up getting runover by the two of them as they duck inside a stack of hay.
"Erza, are you okay?" Lucy asked.
"I will be when I get my hands on those two." Erza said.
"What got in the two of you? What are you running from?" Gray asked.
"Him!" Natsu said as he pointed ahead. All of them looked and saw the Shaman himself, and he sounded mad.
"What is that?!" Lucy said.
"That must be the Shaman!" Gray said.
"Drive! Drive!" The Shaman said a rough voice.
"What's he saying?" Erza questioned.
"I think he wants that drive we found." Gray said.
"I think we should run!" Lucy said as the three of them dived inside the hay with Natsu and Happy, but that isn't going to protect them from the Shaman.
"Let's get out of here!" Natsu said as the five of them ran right out of the hay with the Shaman chasing after them.
...
Chase Scene
Daydreaming heads in the sand
Daydreaming gee, but it's grand
I'm in love with an ostrich
All the neighbors complaining, but she loves me
Can't help if they don't understand it
All five of them ran into the chicken coop, but the Shaman chased after them. It quickly turned into party in there until they all ran out with the Shaman chasing after them again.
It's fun to be in love with an ostrich
And if you haven't tried it, don't deny it
Cause it's so much fun
To go out in the sun
Forget the rest of the world
With your head in the sand
They all ran until they hit the barn's silo. Natsu and Happy ducked inside the actual barn with Gray and the girls climbing up a ladder. The Shaman went after the three of them as he headed up the ladder. Thinking fast, Gray tossed the drive over towards Natsu and Happy, but he slid down and went after them
Daydreaming heads in the sand
Daydreaming gee, but it's grand
Walking down the street with my ostrich
All the people are stare, but I don't care what they say
She never says a word
She's an agreeable bird
She takes my worries away
Natsu placed a rake in the way. When the Shaman stepped on it, it wacked him right in the face, but didn't stop him. Happy and Natsu ran to the top of the barn where they saw Gray and the girls got a carriage and a horse ready. They tossed the drive back to them. When the Shaman came at the two of them, they jumped down on the driver's seat and got that horse going.
So if you find somebody who loves you
And if your friends are complaining, they're not friends anyway
Just go out in the sun
'Cause it's so much fun
Forget the rest of the world
Put your head in the sand
Daydreaming heads in the sand
Daydreaming gee, but it's grand
Daydreaming heads in the sand
Daydreaming gee, but it's grand
Daydreaming heads in the sand
Daydreaming gee, but it's grand
The Shaman got his own horse and chased after them. They just road liked that for a while until the carriage hit a bump in the road and it was knocked out of place. Gray and the girls ended up going down a slope with Natsu and Happy hanging on to the horse until they were flung right off.
...
"That's not the kind of barn fun I was hoping for." Natsu complained as he and Happy recovered after being flung off a horse. "At least we got away from the Shaman." They thought they ditched him, but they heard him groaning and was coming at them again. "Don't these creeps ever give up!" Knowing it wasn't safe, the two of them got up and got running.
...
Gray and the Girls
"I enjoy a good horse ride, but not that one." Erza said as she and the others were putting themselves together after that ride.
"Maybe, but at least the Shaman didn't get this drive." Gray said as he still had it.
"If Shaman work with spiritual arts, why does he want a piece of technology?" Erza questioned.
"There must be something on it that he doesn't want anyone to see, but without a computer, we can't see what that is." Lucy said.
"Our only chance is to solve this mystery." Gray said.
"And I think I just spot a clue." Erza said as she pointed to the side and saw a car left in the middle of nowhere.
"What's that car doing here? Let's check it out." Gray said as the three of them went to get a closer look. When they got close enough, they saw the inside was a mess. "Look at the inside? Why is it such a wreck? It looks like it hasn't been here for very long."
"Hold on! I found the registration!" Erza said. "This car belongs to that guard we helped out earlier!"
"This is his car?!" Gray said.
"Looks like it, and it looks like the inside was searched for something." Lucy said.
"That guard was attacked by the Shaman earlier." Gray said. "I bet this drive belongs to him. I guess when he didn't find, the Shaman used it to come after us or something." Seeing that the Shaman is this set on getting the drive, and how the inside was torn up, it made Gray a bit worried about his friends. "We better find Natsu and Happy. If he wants that drive so badly, no telling what that creep will do to them."
...
Natsu and Happy
Natsu and Happy kept running from the Shaman, but he was resilient. He kept chasing them down and wasn't going easy on them. The two of them did manage to take cover behind some bushes, but the Shaman was right near them as he looked around for them.
"Where are they?" The Shaman questioned as he searched around for them. Telling Happy to be quiet, he and Natsu tried sneaking away. However, he ended up snapping a twig and that alerted the Shaman of their presence.
"Gotta run!" Natsu said as he and Happy ran after them with the Shaman chasing after them. Needing a way to lose him, Natsu thought fast. "Over here, Happy." They both ducked behind a tree and pulled back a branch. When the Shaman gets close enough, Natsu releases the branch and it hit the Shaman right in the head with him getting knocked down. "Ha! Later, bonehead!" Natsu called as he and Happy took the chance to run out of there.
...
The Gang
Gray and the girls continued looking around for Happy and Natsu, and hoped that the Shaman didn't get them first. the two of them kept walking until they heard a rustling coming form the plants.
"Someone's coming." Erza said.
"It could be the Shaman. Quick, duck behind those trees. We'll jump him." Gray said as the three of them moved fast and got behind some trees. They waited until the sound got close enough to them. "Now! The three of them jumped out and jumped down on who they thought it was Shaman, but it ended up being Natsu and Happy.
"Oops. It's Natsu and Happy." Lucy said.
"Why? Why does this stuff happen to us?" Natsu complained.
"Sorry, guys. We thought you were the Shaman." Gray said as they helped the two of them up.
"Who do you think we were running from? A pile of leaves?" Natsu said.
"You saw him? Where?" Lucy questioned. Happy tired answering as he was pointed in every direction.
"According to Happy, you've been running into him all over the place." Erza said.
"He must be magic with the way he just keeps appearing everywhere." Natsu said.
"Well, hanging around here isn't going to do any good." Lucy said. "Let's try and make it back the Myster-V. My computer is there and we can use it to see what's on that drive. It might provide us with some answers." All of them certainly agreed with that and tried heading back to the barn to get the Myster-V, and hopefully getting away from the Shaman.
...
The Barn
The five of them were able to make it back to the barn. When they made it to the Myster-V, they thought they were in the clear.
"Am I glad we lost that bonehead." Natsu said as he opened the door, but they were all shocked at what was inside. "The Shaman!" He was right there and was waiting for them. All of them ran out of there as he chased after them again.
"Don't let him get that drive!" Erza said as they hurried as fast they could away from him.
"No worries. I got it." Gray said as he still got a firm hold on the drive, but the Shaman jumped and tackled him to get the drive. Thinking fast, Gray took the drive and threw it as far as he could. "Guys! The drive!" Wanting that drive badly, the Shaman let Gray go and tried to grab it. Just before he grabbed it, Happy got a hold of it. With a quickly sticking out his tongue, Happy ran out of there with the Shaman running after him.
"Run, Happy! Run!" Natsu said. Happy was running as best as he could with the Shaman chasing after him. Happy ran into the barn and tried going up the second floor, but the Shaman went after him. Happy kept running until he couldn't run anymore. It looked like he was trapped.
"Give me that drive!" The Shaman demanded as he leaped right at Happy, but Happy jumped out of the way and caused him to fall out. Luckily, he landed right in a barrel. Seeing an opportunity, Happy took a bucket and jumped off with the bucket landing right on his head. Happy even gave the bucket a good smacking like it was a drum. That got the Shaman right where the gang wanted him.
"You did it, Happy! You got the Shaman!" Lucy said as they were all proud of Happy and glad they got the Shaman.
"Now let's see who he really is." Gray said as he removed the bucket with Happy removing the skull mask. All of them were a little shocked. "It's Mr. Brain, the bank manager!"
"Oh... My head..." Mr. Brain complained. Once they unmasked him, they were able to get ahold of the sheriff this time and got Mr. Brain under arrest.
"I got your message kids. When I went to Mr. Brain's house, I found the guard tied up in the closet." Sheriff said. "I'm glad this creep was caught, but I'm still baffled as to what happened."
"It's easy once we figured it out." Lucy said. "Mr. Brain was always the last one to leave the bank. Before he did, he took money out of the vault and just walked out like nothing happened. Later that day, he dressed himself as the Shaman and made it look like some mysterious figure was the one who robbed the bank."
"It was going well for him until the security officer updated security without Mr. Brain knowing it until it was too late for him." Gray said.
"Just look." Lucy said as she pulled out her computer and had the drive inside it. She showed a video of the Shaman entering the bank by using a key. "This footage shows the Shaman using a key to enter the bank. Since Mr. Brain is the one who manages the bank, he's really the only one who could have a key."
"That's why he was so determined to get the drive. He was afraid this footage would reveal his secret." Erza said.
"But how did you kids manage to get it?" Sheriff asked.
"We found the guard when Mr. Brain attacked him earlier." Gray said. "He must have heard us coming and that's why he took the guard's car and drove off. Otherwise, he would have gotten the drive. The guard slipped it into my pocket when I wasn't looking and probably hoped he would see it and get it to the police."
"But when Mr. Brain didn't find the drive in the car or on the guard, he must have believed we had it." Erza said.
"Well, you kids really uncovered a big scam." Sheriff said as the Shaman's robbing days are over.
"Blasted meddling kids." Mr. Brain complained.
...
The Gang
"Glad that's over with." Lucy said as they all hit the road again.
"You said it. I thought the exciting part was going to be the barn party itself." Erza said. That was when Happy popped up and showed he had eggs as he was willing to cook something.
"Happy, where did you get those eggs?!" Natsu said.
"Those better not be from the barn. We'll have to take those back." Gray said, but there wasn't really time. The eggs were hatching right now and a bunch of little chicks came out with them gathering around Happy.
"I knew Happy was a chicken, but this is ridiculous." Lucy said. Turns out they did have fun at a barn after all.
