Gray, Erza, Lucy, Natsu, and Happy have really built a reputation for themselves. They have unmasked and caught many criminals. They have solved many mysteries that the police themselves have had trouble with. That is why something extraordinary is happening to them.

"No way! No way! No way!" Natsu shouted as he looked on the news and couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Mom! Dad!" He called as he hurried downstairs pf his house and met with his mother and father, Igneel and Heather Dragneel. "It's really happening!"

"What's happening?" Igneel asked.

"This!" Natsu said as he slammed a newspaper on the table and showed an article. "We've become more famous than I thought, Happy!" Happy looked over the news himself and practically did a dance of joy from reading it.

"Calm down. Let's see what this is about." Igneel said as he had a look at the newspaper. "For their bravery, intellect, and capability of discovering the truth, a small group of young detectives are being honored by having their own display in Magnolia's museum of national heroes!" He said as his excitement has been rising. Natsu and the others are being honored as real heroes.

"Honey! This is amazing!" Heather said.

"I know! Can you believe it, Happy?!" Natsu said as he and Happy were having the best moments of their lives.

"Well, we are so proud of both of you." Igneel said. "I'll admit that your mother and I weren't so sure about you being part of this mystery solving business, but you've made some pretty good friends and you've done a lot of good in the world."

"Thanks, Dad. We've got to meet up with the others about this." Natsu said. "We've got to see if we're able to check out the display now. This is going to be amazing!"

"I'll give you a ride." Igneel said as he finished the last of his coffee. "I have to head down that way myself." The three of them hurried off and went to see the future display for themselves.

...

The Museum

Natsu, Happy, and his father went on down to the museum in hopes of seeing the display themselves. When they got there, Natsu already saw their friends were there with them already hearing about the good news.

"Guys! Over here!" Natsu called as he hurried to them.

"Natsu! Happy!" Lucy called as she hugged him, but they both backed away when they realized what they were doing. The others could see what was going on here.

"Aw... They're so cute when they're awkward." Erza said. It's obvious they're both interested in each other, but they haven't done much about it.

"Hello, kids." Igneel said as he went over to greet them.

"Hi, Mr. Dragneel." Gray said.

"I see you already heard the news. Your parents must be so proud of all of you." Igneel said. "So, do you all have any information about what's going on?"

"Well, the grand reveal is set to be soon." Lucy said. "They're going to take the costumes from all the criminals we've unmasked and place them on figures to make it look like they're alive. Right now, I heard all the costumes are being held at the police station. That stuff is still considered evidence from criminal activity."

"I have to admit that I never thought something like this would happen." Erza said. "We started this little mystery solving gang because we love mysteries and they're so much fun."

"But now look at us. We're being honored like real heroes." Gray said. "None of us thought something like this would actually happen to us."

"Can I quote you on that?" They all looked and was met with a man with flaming-like hair. "I hope I'm not bothering any of you. You're the famous mystery solvers of Magnolia, and I like to have a word with all of you."

"Uh... I guess we are, and this is my father, Igneel." Natsu introduced.

"Igneel? What a coincidence. My name is Ignia, Ignia Howard. I'm a reporter and I'm doing and article on the upcoming display." He introduced himself as he held out his hand with Igneel shaking it.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." Igneel said.

"You're doing an article about us?" Lucy said.

"Yes. All you have made such accomplishments." Ignia said. "I would love to hear more about them."

"How's this? Natsu's the successful one, but I'm actually the smarter brother." Natsu looked and he, his father, and Happy saw someone they were so happy to see.

"Zeref!" Natsu called as he ran towards the man that showed up and hugged him with his father joining in.

"You're really home?! This is a great surprise, too!" Igneel said.

"It's great to see you again, Dad and Natsu. You too, Happy." Zeref said as he petted the cat.

"Guys, this is my big brother." Natsu introduced Zeref to his friends.

"Yeah. You mentioned him before." Gray said as they all went over to greet them.

"Natsu has told me about all of you as well. It's nice to finally meet all of you in person." Zeref said.

"When did you get home from college?" Igneel asked.

"Just today. I was on my way home to surprise all of you when I saw you were here." Zeref said. "I heard what was going on and I just had to see it all for myself."

"Well, it certainly looks like you all are in the middle of something important." Ignia said as he stepped away. "We can talk another time, young mystery solvers. Enjoy the display." He said as he left the place and left them all alone. The gang was fully excited about what is happening, but none of them are aware of what was going to happen.

...

Natsu

"I can't believe you're home! This is awesome timing!" Natsu said as he stood with his brother in his old room and he did some unpacking.

"It all worked out since I have some time off from classes." Zeref said.

"So, how is college life?" Natsu asked.

"It's fine." Zeref said. "I'm studying everyday so I'll be able to get my PhD and other degrees in science, but it's rather easy. I'm at the top of my class, and have begun working on my thesis."

"Whatever that means." Natsu said as he just tried going with it.

"Anyway, this is about you." Zeref said. "I can't believe you started your own little mystery solving service. I'm even more pleased that you actually found some friends."

"Hey!" Natsu said as he felt offended.

"Natsu, you know I'm just being honest." Zeref said. "Before, you never really had friends before. You were a bit of a loner that only talked to his cat, but you now found some friends." Zeref hit the nail on the head. Natsu always had a rough time before he joined this little group. That's why he's even more grateful he met them. "So, how are things between you and Lucy?"

"What? Nothing is going on between us." Natsu said as he tried to laugh it off. "Why would you even think that something is?"

"Come on, Natsu. I don't need to be a detective to know there's something going on between you two." Zeref said.

...

Lucy

"I don't know, Mom." Lucy said as she was talking to her parents. They were all trying to enjoy dinner with Lucy's staff attending to their needs "Natsu is really great, but should I risk having a relationship with him. What if that affects the group? We all work so well together and that shouldn't get messed up."

"I'm sure it will all work, Lucy." Layla said. "It might get awkward and messy, but I'm sure you all can figure it all out, especially if you believe in the relationship."

"I have to disagree." Lucy's father Jude claimed. "You should never mix those feelings with the people you work with."

"But what if Natsu is the one Lucy should be with. I think it's worth taking the risk." Layla said.

"Nonsense. Our daughter should be with someone with a little more significance." Jude said. "Lucy, surely there other boys that you be interested in that's your caliber."

"Not like Natsu." Lucy said as she was in a daze of love when she thinks about him.

...

Erza

"You really think they'll get together?" Erza was in the middle of dinner herself with her mother Irene.

"I'm sure of it." Erza said. "Natsu and Lucy are obviously interested in each other now. They problem is that they're both too bashful when it comes to it. We unmask monsters, but admitting one's feelings appears to be even scarier."

"How would you know? You never had a boyfriend. A lot of boys are scared of you." Irene joked.

"Mom!" Erza complained.

"I'm just joking. Speaking of unmasking monsters, how many of them have you actually unmasked. Did you ever find real monsters?" Irene asked.

"Of course not. It's always someone in a mask." Erza said. "I'm starting to think there are really no monsters." She might have thought that, but not all mysteries go the way she thinks they do.

...

Gray

"There we go." Gray's father, Silver Fullbuster, framed the article about the new display in the museum. Another example of how proud their parents are.

"Dad, you really didn't need to do that." Gray said.

"Nonsense. Look at all that you've accomplished." Silver said. "It's not everyday your own son gets his own display at a museum."

"In that case, maybe we should give thanks to the criminals being stupid enough to commit those crimes." Gray joked. "Ever since we took off the first mask of our criminal, it probably goes to show you that there are no real monsters."

"Really? Not one of those monsters were real?" Silver questioned.

"Of course not. There's no such thing as ghosts or monsters." Gray said as he said it through experience. "There's really no reason to be afraid because none of them are real monsters. They're just somebody in a costume trying to scare people away so they can commit their crimes."

"Well, maybe the masks are just metaphors for humans being the actual monster." Silver said as he sounded serious and deep, but they suddenly started laughing. "No, it's probably just because those people are silly and stupid."

"You said it." Gray said as they both had a good laugh.

"Anyway..." Silver said as he flipped on the television, but stopped talking when they saw something on the news. "Gray, are you seeing this? It looks like attacked the police station. Gray?" He looked and saw Gray was already gone. "I thought only superheroes do something like that."

...

Police Station

Gray wasn't the only one that heard about what happened. He got the gang together as they could smell another mystery unfolding. All of them arrived in the Myster-V as they saw fireman putting out a fire and everyone evacuated from the building. The sheriff looked and spotted them.

"Do you kids have a sixth sense when it comes to this stuff?" Sheriff asked.

"No. Just from mere observations." Gray said as they all climbed out.

"What happened?" Lucy questioned.

"Someone broke into the police station. They stole five costumes of the villains you all put away before." Sheriff said.

"Five costumes were stolen? What would anyone want with that?" Erza said.

"Who would be stupid enough to break into a police station in the first place." Natsu said. This mystery was already beginning to unfold with strange questions, but something else was about to happen.

"Citizens of Magnolia!" They all looked at the top of a building and spotted a figure dressed in all black. He had flowing black hair with horns coming out of his forehead. It was like he was some sort of fiend. "This is only the beginning of my wrath! Magnolia will soon become a living nightmare! As for your little group of mystery solvers, I know you will get in my way! Know that if you do, it will be your doom!" That was all the Fiend said before he turned away and vanished into the shadows. This is only the beginning of something much bigger to come. What the gang doesn't know is that this is going to become one of their greatest mysteries yet.
