Elsewhere, a kid in a golden mask pulled back the string on his bow. An arrow made of soul wavelength formed.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" Viney asked her Miester.

"Have I ever been wrong before?" Hunter asked his weapons, a black and shining bow with a bladed edge.

"A few times but mostly right." Viney replied.

"Then trust me. We've got this." Hunter said to her, wearing a golden hoodie with armor covered sleeves, brown pants with extra pockets, and boots.

Hunter released the string and fired the arrow, hitting a wall and destroying it. Hunter runs in and begins to attack the people inside, a notorious gang that feed on human souls. He hit a couple that charged him with Viney, knocking them out, before pulling back Viney's string and firing an arrow at the leader, pinning him to the wall.

"There is talk about a powerful kishin speaking with you, I want to know where she is." Hunter said.

"I don't know nothing about nothing!" The leader said before the arrow shocked him!

"I wouldn't lie if I were you. My soul wavelength can make special arrows, this one is a lie detector." Hunter said as he pointed to it. "Now, same question and hopefully a different answer."

"I... I swear!" He said, getting shocked again.

Hunter pulled back Viney's string and fired an arrow, just above the mans head.

"Keep lying to a grim reaper." Hunter said, lining another shot, this time at the man's heart, "I promise this one won't miss."

"He's serious, man. Spill the beans or else I'm gonna feast your kishin egg soul." Viney said to him, though she didn't care.

"Okay! She said she's going to California!"

"California, you say? Interesting. Care to explain why?" Hunter asked, lowering his bow.

"She never said what it was but she did say it was something big and something powerful." The leader said.

"Alright, I believe you." Hunter said, releasing the string and firing the arrow into the mans heart.

The leader gasped in pain before he bursted into light, reforming into a glowing red orb with a wisp on top, a purple core and black hexagons all around.

"And that's another kishin egg for me." Viney said as she glowed and changed back to normal out of Hunter's arm.

"Eat it quickly and lets get back to uncle." Hunter said, "He'll want to know about this information."

Viney nodded to him as she brought the soul to her lips, sucking it up by the wisp like a drink through a straw. She gulped it down and liked her lips, whiling her hands on her clothes. A faux white Tiger print jumpsuit, a black leather jacket, and black heals.

"I still think you should wear more normal clothes." Hunter said to his weapon partner.

"Normal is overrated in our field of work. So, dressing normal is out of the question." Viney said to him, "Besides, all the Death Scythes wear expensive clothes that are fancy. I want to look good when I become your Death Scythe. Hey, why are they called Scythes if Alador is the only one that's actually a Scythe?"

"It's a simple explanation, the scythe has been seen as the main tool of death since the beginning of time." Hunter explained.

"Okay, everyone knows that." Viney said with a nod as they began walked from away.

"And as such, the title of "Death Scythe" means you become strong enough to be wielded by Death aka Lord Belos and be able to sync with his powerful soul wavelength." Hunter said.

"And I'm going to be special, because I'm going to be the first Death Scythe to belong to the next Reaper." Viney said.

"Yeah, I guess you are but you might have some competition. Edric and Emira Blight are pretty good too. They might get Edric to death scythe before you." Hunter said.

"Hey, I don't care about them." Viney said.

"You stalking Emira's Instagram says otherwise." Hunter said.

"Did you take my phone!" Viney said, "But... I mean I don't care about them, because he would become your uncles weapon, I will always be your weapon, no one else's."

Hunter felt warm at this and gave Viney a hug, which she returned. They were more than just weapon and meister partners, they were friends.

"That means a lot, V." Hunter said as they broke apart. "And you won't be jealous if I take on another partner to make into death scythe?"

"Of course not. Death can't have just one death scythe the rely on. Just remember who your best Death Scythe is." Viney said, lightly punching Hunter's shoulder.

"The one and only." Hunter said with a chuckle before they found their vehicle, a custom magic infused covetable, and got in.

"Alright, Mr. Reaper, let's get back to Lord Belos." Viney said, with a yawn, "And then back to the mansion."

Another perk of being the weapon partner of a grim reaper is that she gets to live with him in his big, fancy mansion full of servants.

"Okay, okay, you're highness." Hunter said as he took off his mask, revealing a couple scars from previous battles, and turned on the car.
