BAABOOM!

"AH!" cried the world famous teen heroine, Kim Possible as she bolted upright in bed. Shuddering and soaked in sweat, the usually fearless hero scanned her room, hoping Drakken or Dementor hadn't broken in to finish her off, but there was no one there. Everything was where it was supposed to be. Kim sighed with relief, but still felt shaky. "It was just a dream...no. A nightmare." Kim felt more shaky than she had ever felt in her teenaged life. The storm blowing right outside Kim's window was unsettling enough, but what really scared her was the nightmare she just had no more than a few moments ago.

BAAABOOM!

A flash of lightning, followed by a deafening crack of thunder, shook the Possible house to it's very foundations, sending the cheer captain who knew 16 styles of kung fu scurrying under her blanket, clutching her Pandaroo for dear life. She laid there for a moment, terrified. Usually a storm wouldn't rattle Kim, but clearly the nightmare had amplified her feelings of terror. The sound of rainfall filtered through her blanket, and she knew it was gonna be raining for a long time. She continued to clutch onto her Pandaroo, paralyzed by fear, still troubled by the nightmare. And the truth was? It wasn't the very first scary nightmare she's had recently.

She wanted to talk to someone about this to try to calm herself down. Since both of her parents and twin brothers were away at a science fair out of town for a week, there was just one person to talk to: her boyfriend/partner, Ron Stoppable. She knew he would answer since she had answered his late night phone calls when they started dating. Of course, it bugged Kim to the max that Ron called her at 3:00 am. But this time, she was the one who needed to be comforted by a loved one. "I gotta call him." Kim whispered, reaching for her phone before having second thoughts. "But...I shouldn't wake him up. Not at this time of night."

She continued to wrestle back and forth with her thoughts about calling her boyfriend when suddenly, the power went out, killing the lamp by her bedside and the telephone. "Oh great." Kim groaned, as she knew the power wouldn't come back on until morning. So much for calling her BF. Suddenly, there was a loud crash, but it wasn't thunder. "AH!" Kim jumped out of bed with fear and almost fell down. Still trembling, she slowly walked downstairs to investigate what was going on. Part of her thought it was home intruders, probably Drakken and Shego. The walk downstairs to the living room was slow and terrifying, coupled with the fact that there were no lights, and Kim's parents were not home.

She finally made it to the darkened living room and scanned the place, hoping to kick the biscuit out of anybody who was thinking about trespassing or wanting to kidnap her. She saw the kitchen back door opened wide, even though it was locked, meaning someone definitely broke in. "Alright! Anyone who's here, come out now before I kick you and punch you until..." Kim tried to think of a good thing to say, but fear was still flowing through her mind. "...bleeding?" Just then, a figure bumped into her and she screamed with more terror than ever before. "AHHHH!" She fell backwards and continued to trembled, but then, she heard an all too familiar concerned voice say, "Kim?"

The red headed hero sighed and smiled in relief. "Ron." she said happily as she got back up and saw her boyfriend, a soaking mess of one. But a cute one at that.

"Are you OK? I heard you screaming earlier." Ron said. Kim then figured it was Ron who broke in. While she was a bit mad that her boyfriend broke in, she knew it was because he wanted to check in on her. She couldn't get mad at him over that.

"Sorry...the storm woke me up..." Kim smiled sheepishly even though she was still trembling. She then noticed Ron was soaked. "Why are you soaked?"

"Well, my parents were out of town for the night with Hana, so I was about to go to sleep, but then it started storming. I kept thinking about you and worried about you, but I didn't want to make you more angry with a late night phone call. So I rushed over here." Ron smiled, but Kim was genuinely surprised and amazed that her own boyfriend was able to walk through a thunder storm in order to see her.

"Ron, you walked all the way through wind and rain, just to see me?" Kim asked, her heart fluttering with love.

"Kim, are you kidding me? I would run through a barrage of ninja monkeys during an earthquake while the sky is on fire to be with you." Ron smiled, making Kim smile as a tear of joy escaped from her left eye. Then a flash of lightning made her jump and shudder. Ron was concerned. "Are you OK?"

Kim wasn't really OK, but tried to keep brave for Ron. "Go on." she said.

"Anyway, I reached your house, but then I heard you shout. I became so worried that I just bolted to the backyard and kicked the door in because I thought you were in trouble." Ron said before blushing. "Sorry about scaring you. And breaking in."

Kim laughed a little and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "It's cool. And don't worry about the door. My dad will understand." she smiled.

Ron noticed that Kim was still trembling a bit. He didn't want to leave her like that. But if Kim says she was feeling OK, he didn't want to be a bother any longer. "OK, well..." Ron shrugged before feeling Kim, trembling with fear, tightly gripping her boyfriend, not wanting to let him go. He was surprised. "KP?"

"You don't have to leave...if you don't want to..." Kim trembled, just wanting the love of her life to be with her.

Ron didn't really need extra coaxing. He would never leave Kim, no matter what. He then returned the hug, with Kim smiling, not caring what Ron's wet shirt was ruining her pajama top.

A half hour later, Kim found herself in a semi-romantic situation. She was still scared because of her nightmare, but she had Ron to hold and comfort her. After getting Ron out of the soaked clothes and into one of her father's plain white t shirts and boxers, the two lit up a bunch of candles to light the place up, allowing Kim to breathe easier. The two then cuddled on the couch under some covers, with Ron still holding Kim close to him, never letting her go. And she didn't want him to anyway.

With the light of the flames from the candles enveloping the room in a warm glow, Kim purred, loving how it set the mood for something romantic. But when the lightning and thunder rolled, Kim shuddered and Ron held her closer to him. "Wow, this storm might be really fierce to rattle even you." Ron said, wrapping his arm around Kim as she continue to shudder. Now feeling more assured that she's not alone, she then sighs.

"It's more than the storm, actually..." Kim admitted, looking away from Ron for a bit, making even more concerned.

"What do you mean?" Ron asked. Kim really didn't want to get into it, but she didn't want to hold it in for very much longer. So she faced Ron with glassy eyes.

"You remember when you would call me in the middle of the night and tell me about your nightmares, after we started dating?" Kim asked. Ron chuckled nervously at that. He had stopped with that after he was able to stay on the football team.

"Oh, right. Too bad you never helped me through the jumping the shark one." Ron said. Kim breathed in a shaky breath and continued.

"Well...I've been having nightmares too." Kim finally admitted. Ron then gulped. His own girlfriend, usually the fearless one, was having nightmares.

"You too?" Ron asked, to which Kim nodded. "Why didn't you call me?"

"Because I didn't want to be the one bugging you out of your sleep this time." Kim said.

"Kim, I don't care what time or what place. If you have a nightmare, don't hesitate to call. Besides, I never get that much sleep anyway." Ron smiled, making Kim's heart melt some more before shuddering when thunder rolled. "What were the nightmares about?"

"Well...not the ones like you talked about. Like the giant Mystery Gravy Ghost coming to haunt you, or a giant spider trapping you in your web." Kim said before gulping. "They had to do with our previous missions. The more...scary ones." Ron was completely surprised that Kim said that some of the missions she's been on had been scary. Sure, he's seen scary things while he was out saving the world with her, but they always pulled through. How can Kim be having nightmares about them?

"Which ones?" Ron asked with Kim being more assured by the moment.

"The time me and Shego fought on Drakken's weather machine, me almost being gator food while Drakken controlled those old people including Nana, me almost being mixed to death by the giant mixer. And the more recent one? Me being turned to stone saving Yori." Kim said.

"And when did they start?" Ron asked.

"Right after you finally stopped calling me in the middle of the night." Kim admitted. "I did have nightmares before when I was just a kid, but not ones that terrifying like the ones I've had recently."

Kim shrank away from Ron, feeling embarrassed, but Ron held her tightly in his grasp, not wanting to let her go. "Kim, being scared doesn't really make you any less amazing than you already are. Remember that time I saved you and Wade from being dipped into hot chocolate by Drakken?" Ron asked, making Kim giggle at the memory.

"Ganache, Ron. You should know that. You're a wiz in the kitchen after all." Kim grinned.

"Oh right." Ron chuckled. "Anyway, I was scared that my plan wasn't gonna work, and I was gonna let you down. But, I stuck with it, because you were worth the risk." Kim felt her heart flutter more, loving how sweet Ron was as the two cuddle some more, but Kim still felt shaky.

"I don't know if I'm gonna be able to fall asleep. What should we do?" Kim asked.

Ron began to think before smiling. "We could play Truth or Dare." he suggested to which Kim laughed.

"I'm game. You go first." Kim smiled.

"Truth or dare?" Ron asked.

"Truth." Kim grinned.

"What was the worst grounding time you ever served?" Ron asked, knowing the answer was probably when Kim got grounded for lying to Ron and her parents on Halloween four years earlier. But her answer surprised him.

"I'd have to say...the time when mom found out I went out sick to look after the Ray X two years ago." Kim said. "I never seen her that made. She was shaking angry. I mean, I should have expected it since she's a doctor after all. She even threatened to smash my Kimmunicator if I ever went out sick again. Luckily she apologized for that one. But either way, I deserved it. I shouldn't be going out sick on a mission anyway. It still stung though." She then grinned, feeling way less shaky and more at ease. "My turn. Truth or dare?"

"Truth." Ron shrugged. Kim thought of a good question to ask her boyfriend.

"That time I got library lockup for that missing cheese book. How did you know where to find it?" Kim asked. Ron gulped, knowing Kim would be furious with his answer.

"Uh, because I was the one who lost it. And me and Wade went through all our foes plans in order to find, but when we reached Monkey Fist, I realized I had it in my backpack the whole time." Ron said quickly, expecting to be met with a stone hard angry glare and shouting from his GF, but amazingly, Kim kept her grin, not angry at all, which confused him.

"Well, I'm glad you got me out of library lockup anyway. You are the most sweetest guy in the world." Kim smiled lovingly, making Ron blush and smile. The two then began to yawn, feeling sleepy as the storm outside began to lighten up. "One more. You take it."

"Truth or dare?" Ron asked with a sleepy smile.

"Truth." Kim smiled.

"During homecoming season, when you saw Bonnie kiss me to make you jealous, and you said 'It took you 12 stinking years to kiss me!' Were you in love with me first?" Ron asked.

Kim felt a little self conscious about her answer, but decided to actually nod and admit it. "Why'd you think I was jelling over Yori?" she asked with a sleepy smirk. "Ron, you're everything to me. I've been in love with you ever since we've first met. I couldn't save the world without you. I couldn't breathe without you. You're the light of my life, and I'm your scented candle." Ron chuckled at Kim's love metaphor before the sleepiness overtook them, and they rested in each other's arms, with Kim smiling, now feeling more loved than ever as the storm outside finally stopped.
