Clockwork
Author's Note: I've been wanting to give this crack ship a shot. Enjoy the story and R&R.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything related to or of the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's series.
Pairing: Pre-slash Crow x Leo.
Summary:
A coin toss will decide if Crow and Zora's son go out.
"Do you want a redo, quitter?"
"Shut up! Stop! You're mocking me!" Leo, Zora's no-good son, told off Crow. "I get it! There aren't no redoes in life!"
Though he'd patched things up with his mom and wasn't the disowned pariah of Poppo Time anymore, Leo had found a way to continue being a pain. Just not to Zora.
It's said opposites attract, but the opposite is infinitely truer. Crow believed by duelling Leo he'd bring into the sun the type of guy Leo really was. He guilt-tripped him over it. Lost to Leo on purpose to have Leo embrace the confidence to not only fix the broken cuckoo cock, but also fix his estranged relationship with Zora.
To a certain extent, they were both blowing hot air.
A hard dose of reality. That's what they lived through. Leo through losing his father before he could learn to fix clocks from him, and Crow through losing his parents and growing up in Satellite.
They both could use a reminder why they felt stuck once in a while, to start moving again.
It didn't take much to annoy Crow. And just because he was back in his mother's good graces, doesn't mean Leo wasn't still a "no-good son" like Crow to Zora to keep up a stubborn appearance.
"Heads, we go out. Tails, we don't." Crow tossed a coin. He slapped the coin over the back of his hand, but Leo slapped his hand over Crow's.
Crow knew Leo would.
It wasn't a gamble.
Pretending it was would be an assault on his intelligence (and Jack did plenty of that already).
"Who do you think you're dealing with, huh? I'm Poppo Time's only son, Leo-sama!"
Crow put the coin away without checking. Bastard. That's right.
"We go out."
