Love Like You: Week Two: Valentine's Day (Marco/Ace)

"What the hell is Valentine's Day?" Ace questioned, a puzzled look on his face as the rest of the Commanders looked over at him. They could all hear the snickering from Deuce as the man hid behind his hand.

Marco gave an amused smirk as he leaned back against the rail, saying, "What? Where you raised in a cave?"

Ace tilted his head, "No?"

"Then you should know what Valentine's Day is." Thatch stated, just as amused as he leaned over the rail by where Marco was.

"I wasn't raised in a cave, but I was raised in a forest on a mountain and only talked to Mountain Bandits and my brother." Ace stated with a shrug. "Guess whatever this day is just doesn't exist there."

Marco and Thatch shared a look before the cook was snorting and hiding his face in his arms. "How innocent is he?"

Marco hummed, smirking as he mumbled out, "Not very much."

Thatch choked on the air in his throat before he bellowed out a laugh. His shoulders shaking as he shook his head. "I didn't need to know that."

"Well, you asked."

Ace had a look on his face as he looked between all of them. "Seriously, what is it?"

Izou leaned down by Marco's other side, grinning as he muttered, "You going to tell him, lover boy?"

Marco swatted at him, laughing slightly as Izou moved back out of arm's reach. "Ace." He said, turning to look back at his younger lover. Ace looked right back, that same tilt to his head. "Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on all the seas. It's basically for celebrating love."

That tilt looked to get even bigger, the confusion even more there, "So, I get to show my love for all of you? I thought I did that every day?"

Marco didn't want to admit his hand slammed into his forehead as Thatch practically lost it behind him. He was pretty sure he heard Haruta hit the deck in a bundle of laughter.

"I can't breathe." Thatch muttered, practically wheezing at this point.

"Someone save him." Jozu said through his own chuckles.

Ace grinned, practically hopping in his step as he said, "Well, I love you all."

Deuce seemed to be the only one who actually took pity on him as he leaned in, whispering into his former Captain's ear. A second later, Ace's face was flushed over, small flames dancing on his shoulders as he looked away with a frown. "Oops."

His reaction only worked to fuel them even more as Marco grinned, pushing off of rail with a smile on his face. "Normally, people give flowers or chocolates, but I want to do something different."

Ace looked over at him as Marco started to let his blue flames engulf his body. The younger pirate was watching him the enter time, admiration in his eyes as Marco turned into his phoenix point. "Beautiful." Ace whispered, reaching out and letting his fingers glide over the blue feathers. "You even still have Oyaji's mark."

Marco turned, spreading out his wings enough that someone could get on his back. Marco nudged his head, signaling for Ace to get on. Ace let out a small sound as he reached around, letting his arms wrap around Marco's neck. Just enough that he could hold on, but not enough that it would choke Marco out.

Marco kicked off of the wood, moving his wings to get leverage in the air before he was taking off. Ace let out a small sound of surprise before they were taking off into the sky. Ace had let out a laugh as Marco felt him lifting his head up. "This is amazing." He whispered. Marco barely caught it through the sound of the wind in his ears.

He swooped down towards the water, getting above it just enough that Ace could swipe his finger over the top of the surface. Another laugh leaving him once more. Marco wasn't sure it was still out of shock or pure happiness at this point, but either way it made him happy.

Marco flew around just like that for a while before he was flying back towards the Moby, landing on the crow's nest, and letting Ace put his feet back down on the wood. The younger pirate was grinning as Marco turned to look at him. Morphing back into his regular human form just seconds before Ace's arms were around his shoulders, a grin on his face as he whispered, "I love you, Marco."

Marco gave out a soft laugh, leaning in and pressing a kiss to his lips. "I love you too." He muttered as he pulled away, leaning their foreheads together.

"I still don't have a clue what the hell Valentine's Day is, but I love it if it means we get to do that."

Marco couldn't help the laugh that ripped from his throat. He was weak for Portgas D. Ace.
