"Kili!" Tauriel shouted as she ran up the steps of Raven Hill.

"Tauriel!"

She looked around as his voice reverberated against the cliffs, trying to figure out where it had come from. She made to run up the next set of steps when Bolg suddenly appeared behind her and threw her against the stone wall.

Tauriel cried out in pain and Bolg grabbed her and spun her around, his large hand wrapped around her throat. She tried to draw breath, but it was no good. Her vision started to fill with black spots and Tauriel could feel herself losing consciousness.

But suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, he appeared and ripped Bolg off of her.

"Kili," she rasped, blinking rapidly to try and clear her vision. She watched her dwarf fight and realized an awful truth; he wouldn't win. He couldn't. Kili was injured and Bolg was too strong.

Tauriel clambered to her feet. Kili might not be able to defeat Bolg alone, but together… She swung her sword and Bolg spun around to face her, taking his focus off Kili. The dwarf took his chance to strike.

Bolg fell to his knees with a shriek that was quickly silenced as Tauriel cut off his head.

Tauriel panted as she stared at Kili, both of them in disbelief that they were both still standing.

Kili stared back at her for a moment before a smile spread over his face.

"Tauriel."

They moved forward at the same time, embracing tightly. Tauriel bent down and pressed her lips to Kili's. They broke apart and he stared at her, a happy and dazed look on his face.

"I love you," she breathed and Kili grinned wider than any time he had since they met.

"I believe I must be dreaming," he murmured, and she laughed.

"Not dreaming," she assured him, "We're both you. And I love you."

"I love you too," Kili said softly, "Tauriel…"
They stared at each other for a moment.

"We should find the others," Tauriel finally broke the silence, "Your brother, your uncle…"

Kili nodded, "Let's go."

He threaded his fingers through her and, together, they made their way down the steep stone steps of Raven Hill.

They hadn't even reached the bottom when Fili appeared, breathless and sweating.

"Kili!" he exclaimed, rushing forward to embrace his brother.

"Fee!"

The brothers looked relieved to see each other alive and well, holding on tightly to one another.

"When you went off to follow those noises…" Kili pulled back. "I thought for sure you'd get caught. That you'd… and I'd never…"

"I'm fine," Fili said softly, stopping his brother's mind wandering, "And I see you are too."

He glanced over Kili's shoulder to where Tauriel stood, waiting.

"Ah, yes," Kili smiled sheepishly at his older brother as he stepped back and took Tauriel's hand again.

Fili sighed, looking back and forth between the pair.

"Uncle is not going to like this," he sighed again.

Kili bit his lip worriedly. He could deal with his uncle's displeasure, but Fili… He needed his brother to be okay with this.

"So I supposed it's a good thing you have me to talk him round," Fili said and Kili's face went from worried to hopeful.

"So… you're alright then? With me and Tauriel?" he asked.

"Hey, if she's crazy enough to want to be with you, who am I to argue?" he looked at Tauriel. "He's yours now, good luck."

"Hey!" Kili exclaimed indignantly while Tauriel laughed.

Fili stepped forward and clapped Kili on the shoulder before nodding once and then returning his gaze to Tauriel.

"Thank you," she said sincerely.

"No need to thank me," Fili said, "After all, I guess this kind of makes us family."
