Stepping out of the soothing bath Hinata contemplates on what she is going to do. She knows that it's her 6th year of age, her second year of training, and her first day of academy.
She doesn't know much about the pre-plot timeline or what class she'll be in but if fandom theory's hold true she won't see the main cast, particularly Naruto until the last couple years of academy. She doesn't know enough to preserve the plot, but if she changes too much she'll be running blind in a world where any mistake can cost you.
Stepping out in her drying robes she smiles politely at the pretty branch member, her eyes absently glancing at the seal she knows is resting under the woman's wrapped forehead.
She wonders if there's a way to fanfic-no-jutsu a deus ex machina?
She quietly declines the help from Yuru wanting to have some time to recollect and to set herself.
She walks towards her wardrobe room, being an Heiress is amazing for the formerly 'poor' girl.
She marvels at the neat selection of child clothing, immediately finding a pastel teal shirt with simple white edging.
She throws it over a white undershirt with dark black-purple shorts finishing with her simple open-toed footwear most shinobi and those who come from shinobi clans tend to wear out of habit.
She cradles one of her lengthy bangs gently cupping it so it pools into her palm. She doesn't have the heart to change the style at the moment. Plus she doesn't want a handicap until she's sure it won't get in the way.
Shrugging from the mirror she steps out of her room her personal guard Kō is the one waiting instead of Yuru.
"You ready Hime-Sama? hiashi-Sama has tasked me to escort you to your first day, as he has been pulled into an emergency meeting" the soft voice of Ko soothes the ache that pulled at her heart.
"E-emergency?" Her stutter made her flush, no hate for her body's former host, but she wished Hinata had grown a spine, but then again misogyny was rampant in every world.
"Nothing to worry about, now let's be off Hinata-Sama" Kō states before crouching like he usually does, luckily it's not seen as weird to be carried on the back of a shinobi, for she would have thought it would be below a Heiress, but she'll take the faster transportation over the anxiety-inducing slow pace it would have been.
She watches as the village passes by some newer citizens of Konoha start at seeing the man running with a child so fast, they almost think the child's being taken, if not for the relaxed faces around them.
Hinata can't help but laugh as the wind lifts her hair she uses a dexterity she didn't know she had to perch onto Kō's shoulders spreading her arms out.
Never seeing the surprised but gentle look in the eyes of those who they pass by, not use to a exuberant Hyuga.
Kō himself can almost feel a tear slip out at the sweet laugh of his precious little hime.
He hasn't seen the little heiress laugh like this since before Lady Hyuga passed away.
Hinata can't wait to be able to sprint at this speed or even faster.
She can't help but notice that even without the Byakugan active she can see things more clearly than she has ever seen. Even at the speed she is going she can still see clearly, the vibrancy of everything makes her wonder how she could have ever lived in such a dull world before.
She wonders what the byakugan will be like if this is just her regular vision.
If she's right it's not like the Sharingan as they see everything more slowly and are able to predict and memorize. it's not that it's more everything is highlighted, the colors of the leaves are so vibrant she can almost see a pulse coming from it.
The shimmer above her makes her wonder if that is the barrier that Konoha has.
'Is this how Hyuga's see all the time?' She can understand why they're uptight if they're constantly having to mentally filter out information their eyes passively receive.
She likens it to Karin's Kaguya minds-eye thing.
Though she doesn't know if this is normal or if it's a side effect of Hamura's Chakra, as she now knows what the essence was.
"Hime-Sama" The soft voice of Kō
"Ooh, sorry Senpai '' the honorific from his Hime making him flush, not that Hinata notices as she gazes at the imposing figure of the Hokage.
She of course has seen the lord third as he's come to her home many times for both pleasure and business with her father, and to personally check on her after that…incident.
It's the protective hold her father had on her for the rest of the night that makes her know even though he's harsh deep down he's just a hurting man who doesn't know how to show his love and worry and instead misguidedly tries to toughen her up.
It's still weird, she is more mature, but she can feel her emotions not quite under her control, she can't believe how uncontrollable and impulsive children could be, she just hopes it doesn't embarrass her.
"-and to show Konoha your will of fire!" The booming voice of the Hokage jolts her out of her memory.
"Alright hime, it's time for us to part for a while, I'll be a little late so please wait close to the building, please." Kō states his favorite duty as a shinobi, protecting his Clan heiress, doesn't hurt how lazy he is able to be with his charge.
Hinata takes a deep breath as she steps towards the instructor Kō informs her to head towards. Her eyes desperately looking for sunshine blonde, in her heart wanting to rectify to her the most inhuman thing about her favorite anime, now home.
She can admit she only knows what she has wiki'd on the fandom site along with first part of naruto, with a general knowledge of shippuden, she never caught up on boruto so she can't particularly care for changing that. the only thing she knows is naruto and…her!
She gets together with naruto!
A flash back to that day in the woods where the blond boy had saved her, how could she have forgotten about him?
She can admit she was preoccupied with her mothers recent passing and before the…merge she wasn't thinking as methodical, since she had been a little girl.
She flushes as she realizes she still can feel the admiration for the sweet loud blonde who was the first to call her weird eyes pretty, or in his words her pretty weird eyes.
But he didn't seem to mean it in a rude way like the other boys did.
When she doesn't catch the mop of blonde she deflats.
'Naruto-kun' doesn't even realize she had done the finger touching thing she habitually had done, the merge really cemented between the little girl and the sickly boy when the budding crush clicked.
When she had been he, she had also crushed hard on Naruto, having caught the series in Her younger years before she ultimately died.
She remembers dreaming of having the same blonde come and save her from her depressing life.
She remembers the first time she really realized her crush.
It was the third Naruto movie. It's plot was set on a moon shaped island. She remembers being around the same age as Naruto.
She watched as he saved the boy from the circus animal and cradled him protectively, and all she thought was 'I wish I could feel that safe.'
But as she grew older and watched the interesting episodes of shippuden that had caught her eye, she watched Hinata or her other self, step in front of the most powerful villain at the time just to protect her precious person, she, or he had known then that they had a chance, but then Kishimoto proceeded to forget about the that plot until the end and made her a useless background character. she doesn't know which part of her is bitter.
All of her.
Oh, she's happy she ended up with Naruto, but she wishes she could have been seen as his equal rather than the best option.
She has the chance to change mthe future for the better.
'Naruto-kun'. Thinking of the lonely boy who only wanted to be acknowledged.
Her mind dashes to the timid and shy person she would have grown up to be.
And for herself.
She growls under her breath wondering why only kunoichi have to go through these classes.
she doesn't understand why they would inhibit their forces by not training them in the art of a female's duty, shouldn't they know the tells, in case they should have to encounter one? Or even impersonate one?
Do they expect a woman to be available all the time?
She almost misses the shiny blonde hair in her strut of anger, but as soon as the sunny hair blinks into her sight she feels her anger dissipate into the back of her mind knowing she'll try to bring it up to her father.
Walking towards the forlorn boy she tentatively speaks to him but the boy doesn't hear or isn't paying attention to her.
"-Kun, are you alright, that's your name? Right, I remember you! You're the one who saved me, I never did get to say thank you last winter" Naruto's head jolts as the vaguely familiar voice speaks to him.
His eyes meet those of the shinobi he sees running around, he can vaguely remember the face of the girl in front of him, he doesn't remember helping any-
"Naruto-Kun, would you like to sit with me while I wait for my clansman to arrive" the big words confuse the boy but the warm eluding from the girl is so intoxicating, he's never felt this, subconsciously able to use Kurama's negative emotions detection since he's been born basically, not that Naruto knows this.
"You want to-? With me?" Naruto fumbles at the sweet aura coming off of the girl.
The girl thrust her hands out, an opened bento propped upon it, with a softy voice as if scared he'll flee at any sudden movement, she asks him something he's never heard before.
"Would you like to share my leftovers? I- they made me too much" she finishes lamely.
Naruto feels a feeling he's never felt before as he stares at the sweet face of the smiling girl.
His mind goes to that time he helped a girl from Being teased, he never really payed attention to the girl, especially after that guy told her to not talk to him, but she's here and smiling at him with such a warm smile.
'Is this what kindness feels like?' Naruto thinks as he clasps his hand around the soft delicate hand of.. he doesn't even know her name.
He doesn't care, all he knows is the weird eye- no he can't call his new precious person that, his?
His?
He doesn't know, all he cares for right now is basking in the presence of his future favorite person.
He feels a tear well up in his eyes as the girl offers him the larger portion of her meal, he's never gonna take a gift for granted, blushing under the soft look in the girl's gaze as he hesitates to bite into the rice roll.
He doesn't know how long they've stayed there before a stern cough startles him, he spins but is surprised to see his new friend who he still hasn't learned the name of, is standing in front of him his gaze meets the frosty gaze of those pale eyes.
"Kō-san that's not nice" naruto is startled to hear such a stern voice come out of his new friends soft tone.
"H-Hinata-hime?.. I-He" clearly this Kō isn't used to this from his new friend.
'Hinata-hime'
He's found the name for her despite the tense atmosphere.
With that he grins a little.
"No, I don't care! Naruto-Kun was so kind to have helped me last winter and I just wanted thank him, i don't know why you're being so mean to him, b-but, I, he, you" Naruto feels his anxiety rise at the distress in his new friend he just met Hime-Chan, but once he decides something he doesn't change his mind and he's already decided she was one of his precious people, hearing her hiccups for him makes a resolve he never felt before, his whole world shift in his small brain as he watches his Hime cry in defense of him.
"Hime-Chan" he whispers like prayer, the girl in front of him never knowing just how much her simple act of defense has changed the boy, who had just wanted to be acknowledged.
Now all he wants to do is protect those he deems his precious people.
Hinata feels the frustration of the first day, and the animosity coming off of Kō isn't helping, she thought the Hyuga clan was indifferent to the kyuubi holder?
"Kō, I don't know why you're so upset, but I won't stop being friends with Naruto, father has always told me to toughen up, he's always said I was too soft so maybe, maybe it's time I do what I want."
Turning toward her… crush? She gently pushes the rest of the food and if there was change she happened to grab from her allowance she is given as a heiress, as she's expecting to know how to budget, so young she is amazed by the high expectations the clan has for their clansman.
"Naruto-Kun please keep it, I hope we see each other again tomorrow, I'd love to play ninja with you"
She runs not giving the boy a chance to answer, nor decline the bento.
"Kō-San" she states a little more coldly than intended.
The man winces but turns on his back and offers it no use to such a drastic Hinata, tho he always knew if she found the right buttons she'd be a powerhouse, it looks like seeing someone hurting is her push.
"Hime-Sama I don't mean to be disrespectful, I wasn't upset that you gained a friend, I'm worried about how the village will-" he stops not wanting to think of the villagers taking their anger out on Hinata.
"What about naruto?" The innocent question almost makes him fall at the truth of the statement.
"Your father is gonna be upset" Is all he says.
"I've already got a few words for him" the tone reminds him of the late Himato-Sama.
Notes:
Naruhina with a little twist as hinata is a genderfluid soul.
So Hinata has a general knowledge of the world up to boruto.
She doesn't know every detail just a general over view after let's say naruto first transforms into four tails on the bridge against Pedomaru.
Side pairings?
Ideas for exploration on the byakugan I want to make it more than kishimoto gave it.
I'm thinking it should allow her to potentially master all natures but not simply just because she can like she like if she had the rinnegan but more along the lines of being able to differentiate between the natures and can teach herself to use all natures.
I never understood why the Byakugan wasn't immune to the Sharingan's or any Genjustu.
I hate how Hax the Sharingan is and it's not even the protagonist ability too.
