"Again" the stern voice of her father flows throughout the training field as she resets herself.
Her brow is lined with sweat as she forces herself not to shake from exhaustion, she closes her eyes and concentrates, while pulling her hand into a seal for concentration she focuses on herself letting instincts guide her as a pressure enters her eyes, though it's not painful.
When the pressure reaches its climax she thinks 'Byakugan' and she can't help but gasp.
The view is not what she is used to, but exactly how she should see at the same time.
She watches as her own body moves as she releases the seal of concentration, to then shift into the first set of stances.
Watching as her body moves and getting used to seeing her own back as she feels her own body move. Her father told her it may take some time to get used to seeing the 'Fourth dimension' in his words.
Besides the blind spot that extends out the size of a softball, she can see everything, she can see through the compound walls as the servants go about their day, their various chakra colors going about. She can see all the way down to the edge of the Hyuga district.
"Father! This is…" she now understands why their eyes are so coveted and why she needs to get stronger, as the drain becomes too much.
Hiashi's stern face softens as his daughter pushes herself her hardest. He has had her keep her doujutsu active while doing Kata's during a mock spar to start the adjustment to the change of perspective.
He doesn't know where this fire came from but he's not going to take the gift for granted.
They've been at it for the last six hours.
His daughter, he knew had alway had so much potential. that's why he always pushed her so hard. Maybe too hard, or at least too cold.
He can see now that he's not willing to be blind, how much he could have stunted his daughter.
He doesn't know what to do about the animosity between his nephew and his daughter, and he is too much of a coward to confront the boy, and thinks he'll grow out of his anger.
If he's placating himself, who can blame him?
"Alright, we are finished for today, Hinata-chan" he adds the honorific a little awkwardly but the smile he gets makes the embarrassment worth it.
"Hai, father, may I ask when we will start with the trigrams?" The eagerness of his daughter makes him bloom with pride.
"We shall see." Is all he says before turning to make way towards his office giving his daughter a mirthful glance at her quiet huff of agitation.
If it wasn't for the fact that he knows without a doubt that's his daughter he would be surprised by her sudden boost of confidence, but he knows that his little lotus always had the potential to become a great shinobi.
He wonders what the future holds for his daughter.
And he hopes she knows what she's doing.
'Honesty the Kyuubi brat of all people.' Though he can't help but feel a fondness watching them two interact. They're both so protective of each other he's almost scared for how latched to the hip they are.
He never expected, but shouldn't be surprised, that underneath the obnoxious boy holds a genius in the making. When he walked in on his daughter and the brat conversing over…what the brat would call a "simple storage seal".
'Simple?' He had thought in disbelief at how nonchalantly Naruto had stated that.
He definitely regrets letting his daughter befriend the Kyuubi brat after they had started to Prank.
His little Hinata doesn't do it nearly as much as the brat, but she does partake in them if it's someone who either did Naruto wrong or insulted the hyugas, which is admittedly more rare.
As he sits down to do boring clan reports a notorious Massacre is happening not but a couple Km away.
If he had paid more attention he would have heard the hiccups of his daughter as she forces herself to watch the murder of a clan she wasn't able to save.
If he had checked up on her he would have seen the flash of a flowerlike pattern flicker upon her irises for a split second as the anguish of being selfish consumes a poor child who loves so much.
The child never realizes no matter how hard she would have tried there were too many big players wanting this to happen for a small little heiress to do anything no matter how knowledgeable said girl is.
She can make it up to them by protecting their last clan member in honor of her inactions.
——
She never realized how many uchiha children there were until they had to rearrange the classes in response to both the missing children, and the civilian parents who pulled their children out of the academy in wake of the massacre.
She sits in the back of the class watching as her new classmates trickle in, she doesn't recognize any from her?…former memories?
That is until a light blonde ponytail bobs in with a timid pinkette. She watches as they take the seats in the middle. Sakura follows Ino like a little duck, it's almost cute….
….If not for the possibility of her stealing her precious person's affections.
She turns her gaze back to the window as nothing gains her attention, she knows as a clan kid, she'll be ahead of the curriculum until they start introducing weapons and what not.
"May I sit here? I ask, why? Because my kikaichu tend to scare others away." The cool voice lulls her out of her blank staring, turning to the voice her gaze meets sunglasses as she takes in the person who can only be Shino.
She wonders if he'll still be her future teammate.
She inclines her head, regardless of if he becomes her teammate or not, she'll still invest in his friendship.
"Yeah, go ahead, but please leave a seat open. I'm hoping a friend is in this class" she can't help but ask.
"Of course, why? Because that's the polite thing to do." Her new companion Shino states as he sits down next to the empty seat next to her.
"Thank you…?" She shouldn't know his name after all.
"Aburame, Shino Aburame, and you must be a Hyuga. Why? Because of your eyes" Shino says in his analytical way, absently wondering is she is the Heiress as he sees the Yamanaka heiress and where she goes the other two clans follow, his guesses are correct as two distinctive boys walk through the doors both looking like their respective clans.
The dull eye of the pineapple-like haired one can only be the Nara heir, while the bigger, never chubbier, one is an Akimichi, one of the other four nobles.
'This must be planned' He can't help but think, knowing that ninjas never do things without reason.
——
Naruto can't believe he's late, he hopes the teacher's don't go too hard on him.
It's not his fault none of them told him they changed classes.
They snotty told him everyone is in a different class and he's in A-1, saying they don't understand how a "useless brat like him could be in 'That' class".
He just laughs at them while planning a new prank.
Ever since he's met his Hime-Chan their opinions of him became unimportant.
Why should he care what others think when Hinata can look at him so..?
'so what?'
He doesn't know but he feels warm when he is under the gaze and all he cares for is making sure it says towards him.
Pushing the door open with hesitation, his vibrato dimming as he faces the crowd of unfiltered children and unhelpful adults, he is met with silence.
"You're late" the voice snaps to him, making him spin as he sees a light blue haired man sneer at him for a second before cooling.
"Go sit down in the back, by the purple haired brat" he states with no warmth.
The curious and disdainful eyes of the masses meet him as he turns to the class to find his seat.
He watches as one opens their mouth, recognizing him to be a bully from his last class, thankfully a voice that he recognizes and thinks he'll start praying to, spoke before the nameless boy could.
"Naru-Kun, over here!" Hinata's bright eyes seem to drown out all of the faces as he meets them.
With a skip in his step excited to see his precious person in the same class, he can't help but think every will be okay.
——
"That Teme!" Naruto screams in frustration as he watches the smug Sasuke walk away.
The boy had just beat him in taijutsu practice, and he's embarrassed to admit he sucks.
"Hmm, Naruto, maybe next time you should block" the thinly veiled mocking voice of Mizuki meets his ear ignoring the man he gets up with a growl before making his way out of the ring.
Ignoring the laughing peers as he slumps down in the shade. He closes his eyes, willing away the tears.
He'll show them.
"Believe it" he and a voice say at the same time, making him open his eyes to see Hinata's face peering over him.
Springing up their heads slam into each other causing them both to fall and groan.
He holds his head before realizing he probably hurt his Hime-Chan.
"Ah-! Hime-" he reached and cradled her face between his hands looking at the slight red on her forehead, gently tilting her face as she reddens.
"Hime-Chan are you okay? You're all red?" He asks, leaning into her face worried, not realizing their closeness is why she's so red.
Her face becomes heavy as she faints from the proximity.
"Hime!? Hinata!?" Naruto yelps in panic as his favorite person suddenly goes unconscious.
Notes:
Sorry for the filler-esk chapters. I'm trying to set a background for the story.
So I'm debating on whether to have Hinata join team seven I feel that's too easy, and I do like the potential that Sakura has as a character.
Plus we have to give our resident tracking team some showtime.
I didn't give a specific time because I was kinda wondering if you'd prefer me to jump to the start of the series or keep it slow and steady.
My laziness comes out with having to come up with material… it's why I like FanFiction I can use already made things and add my twist I'm crap at original world building but I'll try.
Sorry for the ramble.
I'm pretty sure this is NaruHina but if anyone doesn't mind m/m/f I could add Shikamaru.
Mainly cause These three are my favorites of the cast. Hinata more so for the potential she has then her character, not to say I don't like her, I just don't think she got the development she deserved as the mc's wife.
