A/N: This is just a small oneshot of a happy ending because we all need this.
Right now I'm just planning on it being this oneshot but if you want a continuation then please tell me. I will also be continuing theother stories but life's busy.
Okay enjoy and reviews are always welcome.
The war was over.
Ahsoka knew it was. Everything around her told her it was. There were huge adds of parties and celebrations for the peace. Anakin killed chancellor Palpatine after he found out that he was the Sith Lord. Mace Windu died in the fight to contain the Sith. Everyone knew the story. Senator Organa was chosen to now be chancellor Organa and they've already started peace negotiations with the separatists. Both sides have decided to call a ceasefire.
Everyone around her was celebrating and the war was over. Yet something in Ahsoka still couldn't believe it. It didn't feel real. After years of fighting and always watching her own back she couldn't just stop.
Ahsoka decided to keep living her "normal life" that she had set up for herself. She had started working as a mechanic in one of the lower levels. Ahsoka enjoyed her work. It reminded her of Anakin. Every time she'd fix a droid or a ship she would think of the long hours after brutal fights, sitting with Anakin, fixing up a ship because it was so simple fixing a broken part when the universe seemed so unfixable.
For a week Ahsoka got up, went to work, fixed droids and went back home. A week she ignored that the war was over. It took a week for Anakin to find where Ahsoka lived.
It seemed like a normal day to Ahsoka. Her coworkers invited her to a party because "the war was over." She still couldn't believe it. So Ahsoka turned down the offer of joining them and went back to her apartment. On the way home - not home, Anakin was her home - she still needed a few supplies so she bought food and then went back.
She wasn't ready to see Anakin leaning against the wall of her front door. She dropped the bag of groceries and just stared. "Skyguy...?" His eyes - his beautiful, clear blue eyes that would stare into hers and calm her after a bad nightmare - looked directly into hers.
"Ahsoka." He ran up to her and she met him halfway. He threw his arms around her and pulled her as tight as he could against his chest. Ahsoka pulled her arms around his waist. She still fitted perfectly into his arms - maybe a little better - as he rested his chin between her montrals. Ahsoka felt tears against her lekku but it didn't matter because he was here, they were here. Anakin was right here.
"Oh force, Anakin. I missed you so much I- I'm so, so sorry-" she heard him sniff and his arms tightened around her. "It was never, in any way your fault, Snips. You made the right decision and I am so proud of you. I love you so much."
They just stood there, hugging each other as close as they could, afraid that if they'd let go the other would disappear again. "Snips, the war- the war is over. We won, Ahsoka. We did it." Ahsoka pulled in a sharp breath. "We... won? It's real? You killed Palpatine and it's over?"
Ahsoka knew Anakin wouldn't lie but something in her was still so unsure. "Ahsoka." He pulled away slightly, enough to look into her eyes but not enough to let go of her in the slightest. "It's real." She looked deeply into his eyes, searching for any deceit. Of course, she didn't find any.
New tears sprang in her eyes and she pressed herself back against him. It felt like hours until they pulled away again. "Force Anakin, I have so much to explain and talk to you about."
Anakin smiled at her. "We have all the time in the world Snips." He helped her pick up the groceries she dropped and they walked into her apartment. Ahsoka didn't really put that much thought into where she was stashing the food but she didn't really care. Anakin was here.
After she was satisfied that all the food that would go bad if not cooled was cooled, she turned her attention back to Anakin. Skyguy, her brother and father, closest thing she had to a best friend was here and she wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
Anakin pulled her back into a hug and they sat on the couch, Ahsoka resting her head on his shoulder and Anakin wrapping his arm around her pulling her close.
"Anakin, I am so sorry for leaving you. I just couldn't come back after what the council did to me. I was alone and I don't think I trusted myself to ignore the fact that the council didn't trust me. It didn't matter that you trusted me because the entire world could've believed in me but it doesn't make a difference if you don't believe in yourself. And I didn't, couldn't trust myself."
Anakin looked at Ahsoka, tears in both their eyes. "I forgive you snips, even if there was nothing you ever did wrong. You made the decision I was always to afraid of doing and I am so proud of you for that. You didn't deserve anything you had to go through but it's over now. I'm here now and we can move past this. I missed you so much, Snips."
"I love you Skyguy." The force around them was shining brightly with the light and comfort they were finally getting. "I love you too." Ahsoka could've stayed like that forever - wrapped in the arms of the person who could make her feel safe in the most dangerous situation just because he was there.
"Ahsoka, I want to take you back to the temple. I'm not asking you to join the order again - even if I would be incredibly happy if you would - I just want you to see your friends again. Plo-Koon and Obi-wan have missed you so dearly and don't get me started with the clones and Padme. When they heard I found you and was coming to see you they tried to come as well, it took everything to tell them I needed to see you first. Please come with me. You have people who love you."
Ahsokas tears came back to her eyes. The news of her friends made her more happy then anything could've. They weren't mad at her even though for so long she was. They didn't hate her even if she did. Maybe, just maybe they'd have enough love for her so she could actually feel it herself too.
"Okay Anakin. I'll go." Any doubts were immediately banished when she saw his reaction. His eyes lit up and their bond shone so brightly it felt like even non-force sensitives would be able to feel it.
"They'll be so happy to hear that. I'll tell them tomorrow though. You seem exhausted and so am I." So Anakin and Ahsoka laid down on her couch as they'd done so, so may times before when it used to be just them. Their bodies seemed to fit perfectly every time. Ahsoka fit into his arms as if she was made for him. And by force, she was.
So the siblings laid down and slept together after years of nightmare filled nights, brutal fights, many deaths of friends, kidnappings, tortures, betrayals and injuries. Yet it didn't matter to them now.
The war was over, the Sith we're gone and the duo - Snips and Skyguy - were finally together again. Nothing could go wrong anymore. Not when Anakin Skywalker could protect his little padawan and friend Ahsoka Tano again.
